The First Meeting

By: kpron2008

Harriet Jayme Selene Potter decided to settle in New York and maybe find love or whatever fate had in store for her this time.. Sure, she had become the Master of Death after the Second Magical War; but she wanted to see what it was like to actually be in love without being manipulated by a love potion or other enchantments. She was very thankful to the goblins for the help before she had left Britain.

Now, she was enjoying herself working at a hospital considering that she was learning the ropes of Muggle healing after she knee everything from Magical healing. She was an intern of Christine Palmer who was teaching her while Dr. Palmer was also helping another Doctor.

Christine had sent Harriet to fetch her some supplies to restock the OR in case they had medical emergency surgery to perform. As she was on her way to the supply room; she bumped into someone.

"I'm so sorry." Harriet said.

"That's alright, Miss. Although, I do advise that you watch where you're going." A male voice said.

Harriet looked up to see that she had bumped into another doctor and from what she could tell is that he was very handsome.

The man looked at looked at her and he was absolutely surprised by the young woman's captivating emerald green eyes for a moment or two. He could also see that the young woman had delt with a lot in her life as looked into her eyes.

Then he said, "You're Christine's intern, aren't you?"

"Yes, sir. My name is Harriet." The young woman said.

"My name is Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange and it's nice to meet you, Harriet." Stephen said.

"Nice to meet you as well, Dr. Strange." Harriet said blushing then walked off.

Stephen wondered if he just imagined it or was Christine's intern blushing. Then he immediately began to rush to save another person's life.

A few weeks later...

Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange was brought in via ambulance from where he had crashed his car.

Harriet saw and immediately went faint causing her to crash into some supplies.

Christine was horrified by seeing Stephen in condition then she noticed that several others were trying to bring Dr. Potter around.

"What happened?" Christine asked.

"We don't know exactly but when Dr. Strange was brought in; Dr. Potter collapsed at seeing his condition." A nurse said.

"Take Stephen to get X-rays and take Dr. Potter to the staff room until she wakes." Christine said.

The doctors and nurses did as they were told. By scrambling to do their job; while Christine was left puzzling over why Harriet had passed out at the sight of Stephen.

Moments later...

Christine came to check on Harriet and saw that she was awake and that she was drinking a cup of tea.

Harriet looked up and asked, "How is he?"

"He'll be okay bit he will have to have surgery to fix his hands. However, I'm worried about the reaction that you had when Stephen was brought in." Christine said.

Harriet sighed and said, "The way Dr. Strange looked; it reminded me of some of my friends and classmates that had been killed and fought in front of me when our boarding school was attacked."

Christine was completely speechless and stunned at hearing this. So, she decided to let Harriet fix Dr. Strange's room that he would be in to recover before returning home to his apartment; while she took care of his surgery on his hands.

After, the surgery, Christine wheeled Dr. Strange into his room. They were both amazed at how the room looked.

"Christine?" Stephen questioned.

"I guessing that Harriet did this, Stephen." Christine said.

"Why?" Stephen questioned.

"My guess is that she wanted you to feel comfortable while you heal." Christine stated.

"She didn't have to d..." Stephen trailed off when he saw Christine pointing to a chair.

He saw Dr. Potter asleep in the chair and he couldn't help wonder how long she had been there.

Christine helped Stephen get situated and they both stared at Harriet with concern.

"Why would Dr. Potter concern herself over me?" Stephen questioned.

"Stephen, you probably don't know this bit when you were brought in; Dr. Potter collapsed from seeing the condition that you were in." Christine said.

Stephen had to admit that he was completely stunned as well as speechless that his accident had such a horrible effect on Dr. Potter. Then he remembered when he first met her actually and she had blushed when they had bumped into each other.

Christine noticed that Stephen seemed lost in thought and said, A penny for your thoughts, Stephen?"

"I was just recalling when I first met Dr. Potter and I think she was getting supplies for you, Christine." Stephen said.

"What happened?" Christine asked curiously.

"She was blushing and I don't know if it was from embarrassment or something else then she ran off." Stephen said.

Christine chuckled and said, "I think it might have been embarrassment, Stephen."

"Why do you say that, Christine?" Stephen questioned.

"I know that Dr. Potter has only been here for a while but I heard rumors that she traveled the world for a while before she started University and into the Medical Field; however, she has a kind heart and she heard a lot about you, Stephen." Christine said.

"Good, Bad, or Both?" Stephen questioned.

"Probably both, but she doesn't take anyone's opinion about anyone. She forms her own opinion but if I would have to guess; she was probably trying to inform her own opinion about you when she bumped into you." Christine said.

Suddenly, they heard a yawn. They both turned to see Harriet waking up.

Harriet opened her eyes and noticed that Dr. Strange and Dr. Palmer looking at her. She felt that she was intruding on something until Dr. Strange said, "Thank you, Dr. Potter."

"You're welcome, Dr. Strange and I hope you won't let this accident get you down. You're a man with a caring heart." Harriet said darting out of the blushing.

Both Christine and Stephen blinked.

"She blushed again." Stephen said.

"I think I might be wrong about the blushing being of embarrassment." Christine said.

Stephen looked at Christine curiously and asked, "What do you mean, Christine?"

"Well, I think that Dr. Potter could possibly have a romantic crush on you and isn't sure how to handle it." Christine suggested.

Stephen was surprised to hear that.

Just then, Dr. Weiss walked in and said, "Dr. Potter seemed in a hurry."

5 months later...

Christine and Harriet were talking when they heard, "Christine?! Harriet?!" which they both knew that voice very well. They came running and was stunned to see Stephen walking unsteadly towards them..

They immediately rushed to help him immediately.

"The OR just you and Harriet." Stephen said.

Both Harriet and Christine nodded.

Christine got everything ready while Harriet helped Stephen onto the table.

At that moment, Stephen was in his astral projection form and said, "Just a little higher, Christine."

Christine gasped.

Harriet looked up and just smiled which surprised Stephen then he saw the form of the guy to defeat. So, he fought the Zealout.

As Stephen fought the Zealout, it was causing the power at the hospital to flicker ever so often.

Stephen flat lined once that Christine told Harriet to get the shockers of life as Harriet called them for some reason. Harriet shocked Stephen and looked at the monitor then sighed with relief.

Then Stephen appeared again and said, "Hit me again!"

"Why, Stephen?" Christine said worriedly.

Harriet heard the worry in Christine's voice and said, "Dr. Strange?"

Stephen looked at Harriet and said, "Yes?"

"What you are asking is risky and I understand what you're wanting. So, I have to trust your judgment with a risky move." Harriet said as cranked the machine up.

Stephen was surprised that Harriet was trusting him.

Moments later, Christine was patching Stephen up while Harriet got him a bottle of water to take few sips. Then they both walked with Stephen to the storage closet and were surprised by what they saw. It was a glowing golden ring showing them another room.

They watched as Stephen went through the golden ring. Then a mop fell when ring disappeared startling them both.

Then about 3 hours later...

"CHRISTINE?! HARRIET?!"

Both Christine and Harriet sighed and said, "What now?!"

They both turned to see Stephen running beside a woman that was on a hospital bed heading to the OR.

So, Harriet and Christine got to work; however, Harriet noticed that Stephen had wanted to help but past reigns to Dr. Weiss.

She decided to follow him out to the wash room. She entered and watched as his cloak dropped over him and tried to wipe tears away and she heard him say, "Stop it."

Harriet walked over to him and took ahold of his hand and said, "My godfather gave a peice of advice that I really needed to hear and I think that you might need to hear."

"What's that, Dr. Potter?" Stephen said.

"He said, 'Harriet, the ones that really love never leave us because they are always with us in our heart.' He said that to me before he came to save me and was killed by his own cousin because she was in with the bad crowd." Harriet said.

Stephen didn't know what to say, but he had this odd feeling that Dr. Potter was opening up to him a little bit.

"May I ask how old you were when you lost him?" Stephen asked curiously.

"I was fifteen years old when he was killed. However, I lost my parents when I was only a year old and went to live my aunt and her family which they didn't like me very much." Harriet said.

Stephen was in shock.

Harriet saw Stephen's face and said, "Perhaps, I'll tell you my story from beginning one day, Stephen." Harriet said.

"I'll hold you to that, Harriet." Stephen said.

"I know but I think you'll probably be busy." Harriet said.

"Why do you say that, Harriet?" Stephen questioned.

"Well, I am guessing that you have important job now." Harriet said.

Stephen nodded.

Apparently, the cloak was aware that the young woman cared for Stephen and grabbed Harriet and brought her closer to Stephen.

Harriet blushed while Stephen was trying to figure out what the cloak was doing. Stephen turned to apologize to Harriet when their lips caressed each other; which surprised them both.

"Harriet?" Stephen questioned.

"Yes, Stephen?" Harriet said.

"Are you okay?" Stephen asked.

"Yeah, I am okay." Harriet said.

Christine walked in and saw Stephen and Harriet both blushing but they were talking. She smiled as she realized that they must've kissed each other unexpectedly because they were both sporting a blush.

3 years later...

Harriet found herself standing with Stephen and Wong as well as Tony Stark, Dr. Bruce Banner, and Spider-Man.

"Stephen?" Harriet said.

"Yes?" Stephen said.

"Do I need to know what's going on?" Harriet questioned.

"Probably, but you won't like the answer." Stephen said.

"So, basically we're fighting." Harriet said.

Stephen nodded.

Tony was about to say something to the woman when he saw her grab the wizard by his cape and kissed him passionately.

"Harriet?!" Stephen said.

"Stephen, you needed it. Plus, it seems that I'm going to have to join the fight." Harriet said as she snapped her fingers.

Tony, Bruce, Wong, and Peter were stunned to see the woman's clothes changed into something that she was capable of fighting in.

"Nice." Stephen said.

"And you wondered what I do on my days off from work." Harriet giggled.

"You mean that you were working on the outfit?" Stephen questioned.

Harriet nodded.

So, the fight began and everything seemed to be going pretty well until Peter tried to grab hold of Dr. Strange to stop him from being beamed up to the ship.

Tony and Harriet decided to go after Spider-Man and Stephen.

Aboard the ship...

Tony was looking for a way to get the wizard when he felt something behind him and he was about to hit it with his pulsar from his hand. Then he realized that it was the Wizard's cloak.

Harriet smiled and said, "Cloak, how's Stephen?"

The cloak made some movements that only Harriet understood and nodded.

Tony thought it was strange that this could understand a cloak. Peter looked in amazement and said, "Hello, I'm Peter. I don't think we've met."

The cloak stopped.

Harriet giggled and said, "Hello, Peter. I'm Dr. Harriet Potter. The Cloak doesn't exactly like being interrupted. Especially, when it concerns Stephen."

"Sorry." Peter said.

Finally, Stephen was free from his captor but he couldn't shake this feeling.

"You're not the only one that feels uneasy, Stephen." Harriet said.

Tony had no idea what this could mean; but Peter said, "Why don't they just get married?"

Stephen, Harriet, and Tony looked at Peter in surprise.

"The kid has a point in a way." Tony stated.

"You two realize that you'll be the witnesses to the first wedding in space, right?" Harriet said.

Stephen looked at Harriet and said, "Harriet, I had been planning to talk with you about a lot of things and one of them was marriage. I mean in a weird way it seemed to people that we were dating anyway."

Harriet smiled and said, "I guess in our own way, we were dating each other and not by traditional means of dating."
