Okay, you might be wondering: 'What the heck is this, Walker?' Well my followers and readers, these are ideas that I got stuck in my head and that keep bothering me. So I am writing this fanfic to get them out of my head. Mind you I will only write ideas for games that I played or movies/cartoons/anime that I watched.
Also, if you find similarities with any fanfic that you have once read please note that it is a complete coincidence. I didn't read fanfics that you read or are reading so don't run to the reviews claiming that I am ripping off a fanfic that you know. Because I am not. Plus, there are already fanfics out there that are nothing more than lists of one-shots so who says that I can't?
Anyway, let's start with the first one.
Chapter 1: Not quite human. (Akame ga kill)
In the forest two miles away from the capital, a young man sat next to a tree. Light snores coming from him as his chest fell and rose. Flies and crows circled around the tree that he laid, next to a carcass of the dead deer next to the young man.
The young man waved his hand as flies flew next to his face and the crows 'cawed'.
"Stupid crows." He muttered as he leaned back on the tree and adjusted his clothes, staying away from the animal carcass. Sadly, his nap would be cut off as he felt the ground tremor slightly. The man's eyes opened as he felt another tremor in the ground and he sighed.
"Let me guess." He muttered as a scream echoed in the forest.
"SHIT! An Earth Dragon!" The young man sighed as he stood up and stretched whilst making sure his hood covered his face.
"Might as well help them." He muttered before he ran towards the source of the scream. After a few seconds, he found a carriage wagon and a giant bipedal cockroach-like monster with red eyes and antenna on its head. It roared as the men in the carriage left it.
"Run!" One of them said as the young man instead ran towards the beast as it reared its arm back for a swing. He jumped up and reared his right arm back, the glint of metal on his hand as he swung it. The beast roared as its right leg went flying, blood spurting out as it fell on the ground. The young man stopped himself and looked back at the fallen beast.
"Class on Danger Beast: Earth Dragon. A good warm-up." He said with a grin as the beast tried to stand up and get the wagon. He ran at it again and cut off its left arm as the beast howled in pain. He then tore one of the claws off its arm, ran up to its face, jumped up before plunging the sharp claw into its head. It broke the exoskeleton and pierced the brain as the beast laid still before going limp.
"Holy…" One of the merchants said as he and his friend witnessed the beast's death.
"Kid, that was awesome." The second merchant as he came up to the young warrior who wiped his hand off the blood. He raised his eyebrow at the attire though, silver scaled coat with the inside part being dark, its head covering the kid's head, making them unable to see anything above the lower part of his face. A white scarf on his neck. Silver gauntlets on his arms with spikes at the knuckles and clawed fingers, dark silver pants covered his legs with greaves at the ankles. Finally, he wore worn brown shoes.
"Eh, thanks." The young man replied as he rolled his shoulder, "Just needed some warm up." He said as the two looked at him.
"Say, what are you doing in the forest kid? You lost or something?" The second merchant asked as the young man shook his head.
"Name's Tatsumi, and no I'm not lost. I'm looking for my friends. We got separated during a hunt and I came back to the village to find that they hadn't arrived. I decided to look for them and here I am." He explained as the two men nodded at him.
"Say, is this the way to the capital?" He suddenly asked, as the first man quirked an eyebrow.
"Why do you ask?"
"Well, my friends told me to look for them in the capital if they don't come back. So is this the right way?" He raised an eyebrow as he saw the two men look at him skeptically, "What?"
"Look kid, I don't want to say this but…don't try looking for them at the capital." He said as Tatsumi tilted his head.
"Why is that?" The second man sighed at that.
"Well…the capital isn't a place where people like you can survive. It is full of monsters worse than the Earth Dragon here." To their surprise, Tatsumi only grinned.
"Monsters huh? Doesn't sound bad to me. We always hunt dangerous monsters in our village. I doubt my friends would get killed." The first man narrowed his eyes.
"We are talking about people, kid. Normal people…with hearts of monsters. People who will not hesitate to do unspeakable things to you." He replied while clenching his fist. He looked at Tatsumi who gave him a questioning glance.
"So what?" His nonchalant had the man look at him with surprise, "You talk as if people can't be monsters anywhere else. I killed plenty of people before and all of them were pretty sick so I don't see how it is exclusive to the capital." Tatsumi replied whilst cracking his fingers.
The two men looked at the teen before Tatsumi got off the beast and went on his way to the capital, waving at the two merchants.
"He doesn't know what he is getting himself into." The first man said as he went to the carriage.
"I give him three days till he dies, give or take a few more." The second one said as he got on the carriage.
"I don't know. Something tells me that the kid is different, he might survive for longer." The first one said.
"Now come on, let's deliver this to their base."
"Impressive." Tatsumi muttered once he was inside the city, looking at the vast city, admiring the architecture, "Very impressive." With the exception of one thing. A stench reached his nostrils and he winced as he felt it.
"Sayo and Ieyasu couldn't have been here for long with that kind of stench. They couldn't have gotten far either. Better find the police station or a post."
Tatsumi never noticed a blonde woman leaning in the alley, looking at him and chuckling.
'Another country boy huh? Well, he is not gonna last here.' She then stood away and began to follow him, 'Still, might as well try to mess with him before he dies.'
Tatsumi asked around for directions, drawing looks from locals at his attire and due to him being a foreigner. Tatsumi ignored them though and went to the police station, eventually finding it as he turned a corner. Unfortunately, it was closed due to repairs.
"Damn, guess I will have to ask people then." He reached into his coat to try to get his friends' pictures.
"You okay there?" A voice said from behind, "You need a hand kid?"
Tatsumi turned around and found himself looking at a rather large pair of breasts held by a black tube top, before he looked up and saw the woman's face.
'Beautiful.' He thought as he looked at her beautiful face, blonde locks and captivating golden eyes. His green eyes had a glint in them as he looked at her, before she spoke.
"Oi kid. You okay there?" She asked, snapping him out.
"Hm? Oh, sorry. First time seeing someone as beautiful as you are." He stated as the woman gave him a sly smile.
"Why thank you~" she said sultrily as she looked him up and down, "So what's a country boy like you doing here? Looking to get famous?" She asked, expecting a nod or excitement. Instead, he shook his head no, surprising her.
"Not really. I'm looking for my friends and I'm hoping to find them here. You know anyone that could help?" He asked, noticing her look at him with…pity?
"Well, I do know someone that can help, but…" She trailed off as Tatsumi raised an eyebrow.
"But what?" He asked, curious as to what she wanted.
"Tell you what: You treat me to a meal and I will tell you about them. Deal?" She asked as Tatsumi tilted his head before he shook her hand.
"Deal."
"I'm telling you kid, there is nothing like a drink in the middle of the day." The blonde woman said as he drank another mug of beer.
"Don't you think that you are overdoing it a little?" Tatsumi asked, eyeing the bottles of alcohol on the table. He took a gulp of his own nonalcoholic drink as the surrounding people looked at the pair with one thought in mind.
'Poor kid.'
"Nah, trust me. You will learn to love it!" The woman said leaning forward and giving a view of her cleavage, "Try to live a little kid!"
Tatsumi stared at her for a second before slowly drinking the rest of his mug.
"So, you mentioned someone that could help me find my friends." He said looking away from her chest.
"Oh, yeah." She said as she poured the rest of the alcohol in her mug, "A friend of mine. Can help you find anyone with his connections…for a reasonable price." She said as she downed her drink.
"Price?" Tatsumi asked as the woman put her mug down.
"Money, kid. Without it, they aren't gonna help." Tatsumi nodded and took out a medium sized bag, took out a few gold coins out of it and put the bag on the table.
"Will this suffice?" He asked as the woman's eyes widened at the bag.
"Heh, more than enough kid." She replied, pulling the bag closer as the bartender shook his head in disappointment, "You sure have a lot on ya."
"I always keep it with me in case I need it." Tatsumi explained before asking another question, "Do you need any pictures of my friends or anything?"
"Well, first I gotta talk with them to see if they will agree." The woman said as she stood up and went to leave, "I will be back in a few hours. Who knows? Maybe we can do something a little more 'private' after, kid?" She said while giving him a wink and left as Tatsumi tilted his head.
"The hell was she talking about?" He asked as the bartender and several men face palmed.
Outside, the woman put the bag over shoulder as she sighed.
'He is not gonna last long like that. Still, I would have liked to know what he looks like under his hood.' With that, she left the bar.
Tatsumi sat in the bar for a few hours, several bottles next to him as the bartender came up to him.
"We will be closing in an hour. You need anything else kid?" Tatsumi shook his head.
"Nah, it's good. Just waiting." He answered as the bartender sighed.
"Look kid, I don't know how to tell you this," Tatsumi looked at him, "That woman just conned you. She doesn't have any connections here." He said as he and several others expected the kid to explode in anger. Instead, he simply looked at him.
"Really?" At their nods he made an 'oh' sound, "So that's why she wasn't barging back in for that bag of silver scales that I gave her." Their looks turned to that of confusion as he said that.
"What do you mean 'bag of scales'?" Tatsumi pulled out another medium sized bag and pulled gold coins out of it.
"I gave her a bag full of silver scales. They are practically worthless anywhere but my village. I put some gold coins to hide that they are scales and gave the bag to her." He said as he stood up and paid for his drinks, not noticing the looks of surprise on everyone's faces as he left.
"Did Leone just get pranked?" One man asked as the others slowly nodded.
"Huh, that kid is something else." The bartender said as he then went to clean the bar.
Tatsumi walked down the streets, his mind on what happened. He was glad that he didn't really trust the woman from before, her looks aside, she had a scent of a Danger Beast on her despite her looking human.
'Man, am I glad that my prank saved me money. Guess I can't really trust people here, still that woman is beautiful. I wonder if I will meet her again.' He thought as he looked up and saw that it was starting to get late. He then took out pictures of his friends and decided to do the next best thing.
Asking the locals.
Unfortunately, for the last few hours, his efforts bore little to no fruit. Many he asked just dismissed him and the rest told him they haven't seen them. Worse was the fact that the sun had set and the streets started turning dark.
"I'm sorry. I haven't seen them anywhere." A woman said as she entered her house, closing the door. Tatsumi snarled in frustration and punched the wall closest to him, causing cracks to appear. He took deep breaths to calm down and put the pictures back in his coat's pocket and took out two amulets that belonged to them. The street lamps provided light as he walked down a street, looking at them before looking at the bright moon above.
"I might as well take a nap." He muttered as he leaned against a wall and sat down, adjusting his clothes, hood and scarf so that he would be as comfortable as possible whilst putting the amulets away. Just as he closed his eyes and was about to fall asleep, a carriage stopped next to him and Tatsumi opened one green eye to look at it. He watched as a blonde girl around his age came out of the carriage, looking at him with pity.
"It seems like he has nowhere to sleep. Poor thing." She said to one of her guards as Tatsumi's eyes twitched.
"Again, miss?" A guard asked, standing next to her.
"I can't help it." She said as she walked up to Tatsumi, "Are you from the country?"
"Yes…" He answered slowly, Tatsumi's instincts told him not to trust her, the stench of blood coming from her only reinforced that. But there also seemed to be a familiar scent on her.
"I see you don't have a place to stay…Would you like to come with us?" She asked as Tatsumi clenched his fist.
"Miss Aria can't leave a poor boy like you to freeze here." The guard next to her said as Tatsumi's green eyes looked at him, narrowing.
It's best that you take her offer." The other guard said as he felt a shiver down his spine when Tatsumi looked at him, 'Why do I feel so afraid?'
"Well…" Tatsumi wondered for a second, eventually deciding to trust the girl and listen to his instincts as well, "Alright."
"Great! Now come on, I will take you home." She said as she helped him up and led him to her carriage.
Tatsumi whistled as he looked at the mansion, impressed with the design as well as the interior of the house. Though it also confirmed a stereotype that the village elder used to say about the rich.
''Bunch of pompous, self-absorbed pricks who want to show off at any given opportunity' he used to say. Looks like he was right.' Tatsumi thought looking at all the items in the house.
"Oh, looks like Aria brought another guest." A voice said as Tatsumi turned to see a blonde man and a woman next to him, presumably Aria's parents.
"Not the first time she had done it." The woman said as she gave a warm smile, one that felt very off to Tatsumi.
"Welcome to our home, young man. I hope our daughter didn't give you too much trouble." Aria's father said, extending a hand for a shake as Tatsumi reluctantly shook his hand.
"Thank you sir. No she was very nice." Tatsumi said as he looked at them and the guards, 'They must have really good security to trust someone so easily. Either that or there is a different reason.'
"Sounds like Aria alright. Though I want to ask, why are you hiding your face?" The mother of the family asked as Tatsumi scratched his neck.
"Well, it's kind of personal, but basically I have a really bad scar that I don't like people to see." He said as the mother gasped.
"Oh, that's horrible." She said as Tatsumi shook his head.
"I got used to it but I always keep it hidden, lest I scare away some people." Tatsumi said, seeing the looks of pity on the family's faces.
"Understandable. Well, feel yourself at home young man." The father said as Tatsumi nodded.
"Thank you. Though I have a small favor if you don't mind." He said as the father looked at him.
"What is it my boy?" Tatsumi felt the hairs on the back of his head stand up at the look on the man's face.
"Well, I'm looking for my friends. Their names are Sayo and Ieyasu. They were supposed to return almost a week ago, I went to search for them in the capital but couldn't find them. If it's not too much trouble, perhaps you could find someone who could help?" Tatsumi explained as Aria's father rubbed his chin in thought.
"Well, I do have some friends that could help." He said as Tatsumi had a tiny smirk on his face.
"That's great. I need to find them quick or they might skip an important event in the village." He took a gulp of water and noticed how Aria's face seemed to twitch.
"Oh, well you can't miss any holidays. I will help you young man." Aria's father said as his wife and daughter smiled while Tatsumi nodded.
'Hook, line and sinker.' He thought as he stood up, "Thank you for that. Could you show me where my room is?"
"Gauri will lead you to it." The guard nodded and gestured to the teen to follow. Tatsumi left the dining room and followed the guard to his room, looking at all the paintings and items, all the while still smelling that familiar scent.
'Where is it coming from though?' he thought as Gauri stopped in front of a room.
"This is your room. If you need anything, feel free to ask." The guard said as Tatsumi nodded to him and climbed onto the bed as Gauri wished him goodnight.
Tatsumi rolled his shoulder as he and the other guards of Aria stood outside many shops. Most of the guards carried bags and boxes as Aria went from shop to shop.
"Let's go to that shop next!" She excitedly said as the guards followed her.
"Miss Aria, please wait." Some of the guards said as they carried her bags.
"Why the hell is she buying so much?" Tatsumi asked with annoyance as he looked at the bags, "The amount that she has is enough to dress an entire village of teenagers." He commented as the guard next to him sighed.
"Miss Aria is not the only one that does that. Many of the girls here do so as well." Tatsumi looked at him with surprise.
"Are you serious?" He nodded at the teen, "Why would they need so much? All the girls that I have known pretty much pick a clothing right away and don't buy more until the old ones are practically worn down."
The guard shook his head at that.
"Nevermind what I said." Tatsumi made a barely audible growl at that as he watched Aria go from store to store. He eventually grew bored and looked around for anything interesting, out of the corner of his eye he saw something interesting. Three posters put on a brick wall, with the names and affiliation present. He went to the posters and looked at each one, the first one had a woman, the third one had a man and the one in the middle had the picture of another woman.
WANTED
DEAD OR ALIVE
NIGHT RAID
"Night raid?" He wondered as a guard came up to him.
"I see you are wondering who they are." He said as Tatsumi turned to him.
"Who are these people?" The guard took one poster off the wall and pointed at the affiliation.
"Night raid is a group of assassins, they mainly strike at night. For a long while they have been terrorizing the capital, they have killed many high ranking officials. Be they officers, police, members of the government or even wealthy families. No one is safe from them. Better keep your guard up." Tatsumi nodded, looking back at the posters.
"By the way," He looked back at the guard who pointed at a huge box carried by two men, "You are helping with that." Tatsumi's eye twitched as he saw Aria happily walk to her carriage as he went to the two guards and helped carry the box surprising them with his strength.
As they returned to the mansion, Tatsumi saw a shed outside it. Curious, he looked around to make sure no one was watching before he went to it. He carefully removed the lock and opened the door slightly to peek inside.
He stayed there for a few moments before he slowly closed the door and went back into the mansion, fists clenched.
Night has come once again, the inside of the mansion is dark save for a few lights and guards carrying lamps. With the exception of the guards, two more people stayed awake, Aria's mother being one of them who walked in a hall with a journal in hand.
"Well, time to write today's journal." She muttered to herself, not noticing someone creeping up behind her, the shadows moving as they got closer, "I can't seem to quit this hobby-" Her next words died in her mouth when a fist burst from her chest, right between her lungs, she dropped her journal as she looked at it.
"E-Eh?" Was all she could say before her head went flying, her last memories are that of her mutilated body as she died before her head hit the floor. Her attacker removed their hand from her chest and kicked her body away, blood pooling from her neck and onto the floor. They then went to the shadows, searching for the next target.
"One down, many more to go." They said as they left the corpse. Moments later, another person appeared, looking at the corpse with confusion.
"Huh? Did I kill her already?"
"Man, it sure is quiet today." A guard said as he walked along the halls of the second floor of the mansion, a lamp and weapon in his hands, "I wonder when they are going to torture that country boy though. Perhaps tonight if they are in the mood." He said to himself, pitying the kid for falling into the trap.
He looked around, making sure there were no trespassers in the house before he came to Tatsumi's room. He had a look of surprise as he saw that it was open.
"Hmm? Did Miss Aria already get him?" He went to the door and went inside the room, surprised to find it dark, on a bed he could see someone under the covers. He brought his lamp up and saw to his surprise that it was just pillows under the blanket.
"What the?" He saw something and turned to see the headless body of his fellow guard a few feet away from the bed, blood pouring onto the carpet. Horror filled him as he then looked at the bed and saw the head under the blanket.
"What is this?" Suddenly, intense bloodlust washed over him and he ran away from the room to warn others. He ran in the halls, eventually finding Aria's father along with another guard.
"Sir!" Aria's father turned to him, "There is an intruder in the mansion. We need to-"
"Hehehaha." A creepy laugh echoed in the halls as the two guards stood alarmed, protecting the father of the house.
"Who is this?! Identify yourself!" Aria's father shouted as his two guards readied their weapons, waiting for an ambush.
"I am the one hiding under your bed." A growling voice suddenly started to sing a tune, terrifying the three men as chills ran down their spines
"Teeth ground sharp," Scratching sounds accompanied the next tune as the guards began to sweat nervously, their hands shaking as Aria's father looked around.
"And eyes glowing red!" Red liquid dripped from above as the men tensed. The guards looked up. They saw two glowing red eyes with cross shaped pupils looking at them and screamed as their attacker descended upon them.
Outside the mansion, several figures stood on wires, the blood red moon behind them, three guards came out of the mansion to face them.
"Well, we got our targets." A green haired man holding the wires said as he turned to the black haired girl, "Akame?"
"I will eliminate them." Before she could act however, the windows of the second floor shattered as a body fell to the ground in front of the guards. Their eyes widened as they saw the body of their fellow man, his throat torn and a permanent expression of horror on his face, lowering their morale while the assassins looked down in confusion.
"Huh?" The green haired man asked as Akame looked at the window before she jumped down before the other guards who prepared their weapons.
"Listen up, don't let her sword cut you!" The lead guard said as he charged at her, weapon ready to strike.
"Eliminate." In the blink of an eye, Akame unsheathed her sword and cut the guard's throat. Before the second guard could do anything, an armored assassin slammed down on him, breaking his bones and killing him instantly. The remaining guard looked at his fallen comrades and turned to run.
"Screw this!" He turned around but took no more than one step before he was shot in the head.
"Deserting your comrades to save your skin. How pathetic." A pink haired girl said, holding a gun with a smoking barrel. Besides her, the green haired man sweat dropped.
"Who wouldn't though in this situation?" He muttered as the blonde woman of their group jumped to the second floor of the mansion through the broken window. She then began to run through the halls, searching for her prey.
"No guards? That's strange." She kept running and came upon two bodies, one of a dead guard and the other is Aria's father who was eviscerated but still alive, his blood pooling around him. He held his innards in hand as the woman approached him.
"Please…help…have…mercy…" He begged her as she knelt down beside him and he extended his hand, expecting her to help him.
Only for her to smash his head with a single punch, fragments of skull, blood and brain matter splattered around as his hand twitched before it fell down.
"Mercy?" The woman asked as she stood up, "You will have to explain that when I see you in hell one day."
"Miss Aria, quick! This way!" Gauri said as he and three remaining guards led Aria to a storage shed.
"What is going on?" She quietly asked, terrified and walking in her pajamas.
"We are under attack! You will be safe inside the shed from them." He said as they came upon the doors.
"But not from me." A sudden yell of pain and the new face had them all look back and their eyes widened as they saw one of the guards on the ground holding on to his torn throat and Tatsumi standing next to him with bloody gauntlets. Behind him, Akame came to the clearing and saw Tatsumi and the remaining targets.
"W-What?" Aria asked as the second guard attacked him.
"You bastard!" He shouted as he swung his blade. Tatsumi effortlessly blocked the blade with his hand and then grabbed him by his face, two of his clawed fingers digging into his eyes as the guard screamed in pain before Tatsumi ripped his head off. The third guard attacked him from the side with an axe, only for it to break when it made contact with his gauntlet. The man looked at his broken weapon before a clawed uppercut cut his head off. His body fell and his head a few feet away from him.
Tatsumi turned to Gauri and Aria as Gauri stood in front of Aria with a weapon pointed at the teen
"S-Stay back!" Gauri said as Tatsumi's red eyes looked at him. Faster than he could react Tatsumi grabbed the man's hand and broke it.
"Gah!" Gauri shouted before slammed his knee on his chest and threw him away, the man landing on the ground with a thud.
"T-Tatsumi, why?" Aria asked as Tatsumi quickly turned his head to her, scaring her.
"Why?" He repeated her question before her by her head, "Why?!" he shouted as he then went to the shed's doors, still holding Aria by her head as the girl screamed in pain.
"This is why!" He reared her head back and slammed her face first on the shed's doors. The force strong enough to make a hole as Aria screamed in pain from the impact and the splinters on her face.
"Stop!" She shouted at him as he roughly grabbed her head again and threw her on the ground before kicking the doors open, revealing the horrifying truth inside. Akame simply watched in the background as the stranger then stomped on Aria's chest as the girl cried out in pain
"You bitch! Did you think I wouldn't find out about this?!" He shouted at her while pointing at the shed, "You think I am so naïve to fall to your tricks! I could smell the stench of blood on you and your family! You think it's funny to torture people like this just cause you are rich?! Especially two of my friends?!" He kept shouting and stomping on her as she looked at him with a sneer.
"And what's wrong with that?!" She shouted back, blood coming out of her face where splinters were, "You think I care about some country bumpkins?! You and your friends are no better than livestock! Animals who need to know who their superiors are! I can treat you dirty animals however I want!" She laughed at him as she said that, "And for a country bumpkin that girl sure had a nasty attitude! So I made sure to remind her of her place! Stupid bitch thought that she was better than me just cause she had better hair than me!"
Tatsumi glared at the girl, his red eyes glowing as he put more and more pressure on his foot while Aria tried to get it off her to no avail. Akame watched as Aria tried to say something and the stranger's foot pressed harder and harder on the girl's chest.
"You are…just a….bunch of…filthy…!" She tried to say but couldn't say or take a breath as Tatsumi began to slowly break her ribs, the broken bones piercing her lungs and skin. Aria screamed and that sealed her fate as Tatsumi's foot broke her sternum. Her flesh gave out under the pressure as Tatsumi's foot broke through skin and flesh, her ribs breaking more and piercing her skin as her lungs collapsed. Aria gasped, blood coming out of her mouth, her vision began to blur as the last thing she saw were the red eyes glaring down at her, before she gave a dying breath and laid limp.
Tatsumi got his foot out, his shoe covered in blood and gore as he then went inside the shed, either not seeing Akame or ignoring her completely.
"Oi Akame! What's taking you so long?" A voice said behind her as a blonde woman with catlike ears on her head and fur covered hands with sharp claws walked up to her. She saw the bodies and raised an eyebrow.
"Wow, did you do this?" She asked as Akame shook her head.
"No, someone else did. They killed the guards and the targets, now they are in the shed." Right after she said that, Tatsumi came out of the shed whilst holding two bodies as Leone's eyes widened in surprise.
"You gotta be kidding me. He did this?" Akame looked at her comrade.
"You know him, Leone?" Leone scratched her neck.
"Well, I met him yesterday. Tried to con him but ended up getting tricked myself. He said he was searching for his friends and it looks like he found them." The last sentence she said with pity as Tatsumi put the two bodies next to each other. Akame went to him, making sure not to alert him.
Tatsumi put a finger on Sayo's neck, searching for a pulse, he found none and bowed his head.
"Sayo." He whispered as he then looked at Ieyasu who seemed to be on the verge of death and looking at him.
"Ta…Ta…Tats…" Ieyasu tried to say, wincing in pain as Akame looked at him.
"Lubora, he won't last long." Tatsumi paid her no mind as Ieyasu looked at his friend's eyes and seemed to smile as he lifted his hand to grab Tatsumi's coat.
"T-Tyra-an-nt-t…a-a-wak-kens…" Was all he could say, before life left his eyes and his hand dropped limp. Tatsumi's red eyes turned green, but the pupils remained cross-shaped as he took out two idols from his coat. Both were shaped like crosses as he put one in Ieyasu's hands and put them on his chest before doing the same to Sayo.
"Rest in peace." Tatsumi said as he then stood up, bowing his head and turned around to see Akame and Leone looking at him. He clenched his hand, wondering what to do.
"Relax kid. We are not gonna hurt you." Leone said as she came up to him. Tatsumi blinked as he saw her appearance to which Leone smirked.
"Yeah, that's me from yesterday. You are probably wondering why I look like this, right?" She asked as Tatsumi tilted his head.
"I was wondering why you had the scent of a Danger Beast on you when I met you." Slightly surprised at his words, Leone looked at his eyes and hands as did Akame.
"You aren't normal, are you kid?" Tatsumi nodded slightly as he then looked at Akame, remembering her from the posters.
"You are Night Raid." The two women nodded at him.
"Yep, and you just killed most of our targets." Leone said, drawing a look from Akame.
"What do you mean most of them? Didn't you kill the father?" Leone chuckled and shook her head.
"Well, I finished him off, but he was already dying by the time I found him. But it seems that he killed the others given the dead guards inside the house as well as Sheele being confused when I found her sitting by the mother's beheaded corpse." She said as Akame picked up the pieces.
"And Sheele usually cuts her targets in half." The red-eyed girl said as she looked back at Tatsumi, "Who are you?" The green-eyed teen scratched his neck.
"I'm Tatsumi. I'm from the country, came here to look for my friends and well…" he looked back at the two corpses as the two nodded. Leone looked at the other corpses and rubbed her chin in thought.
"Say Tatsumi. You want to join us?" He looked up in surprise at that, as did Akame.
"Are you serious?" Leone nodded at his question.
"Yeah, our base is short staffed anyway and you look like you got some talent. Besides, you kinda saw our faces so we can't really let you free." Tatsumi sweat dropped at her later words.
"I have no idea why you guys do what you did but I will accept your offer, if only to see what you are all about." Leone smiled at that with Akame nodding.
"Great! Come on, let's go meet the others." The blonde said as she and Akame went to the others with Tatsumi following them, but he stopped as he heard grunts and looked back to see Gauri trying to crawl away with a broken arm.
"Where are you going?" Gauri's eyes widened as he looked back and saw Tatsumi's hand grab him by his neck.
"Well, that's all of them." A pink haired girl said as she and her comrades gathered around corpses of the guards, her gun slung on her shoulder and smoothing out her dress
"It's strange that there are so few of them. You would think they would hire more than seven guards." The green haired man said looking at the corpses, a weird device in his hand.
"Who cares, Lubbock? Our mission is done." The girl said as a purple haired girl with glasses, wearing a purple dress and wielding giant scissors came out of the mansion, "Oh Sheele, how did it go?" The girl looked lost.
"I'm not sure, Mine. When I came to get the target I found her already dead." She said, grabbing their attention.
"Did someone else already kill her?" The armored assassin asked his comrade.
"We didn't see any person or Danger Beast enter the house before dark so I don't think it is possible." Mine said.
"Well, we did see a guard thrown out of the mansion earlier so it's actually more possible than you might think." Lubbock told her, "The question is who did it and why."
"Hey guys!" Leone said as they turned to her and Akame, "We got news." She said as they stood near them.
"What? You killed the brat?" Mine said with a raised eyebrow as Akame shook her head.
"No, someone else did. That was the first news." They raised an eyebrow at her.
"And what's the second one?" Lubbock asked as Tatsumi came out carrying Gauri, alarming them.
"We got a potential recruit! Here he is!" Leone said, gesturing to Tatsumi. The four looked at him as he held the still struggling guard's neck.
"Hey there." He said, waving with one arm at the confused assassins
"Let me go! Please, have mercy!" Gauri pleaded as Tatsumi tightened his grip, claws digging into the flesh as Gauri gasped.
"Why are you holding him?" Lubbock asked with a raised eyebrow as Tatsumi dropped the guard on the ground.
"Thought you might need him for info." The hooded teen answered as Gauri looked around, the sight of the assassins terrifying him as he tried to get away.
"Please, let me go." He said with tears in his eyes.
"We don't really need any survivors, Tatsumi." Leone said as he turned to her.
"Can I kill him then?" the blonde shrugged.
"Eh, go ahead." Gauri looked up in fear as Tatsumi reared his hand back.
"Mercy!" He couldn't say more as Tatsumi plunged his fist in his abdomen and he coughed up blood. Tatsumi then lifted him up and buried his second fist in his abdomen as the guard screamed in pain, Tatsumi grunted and raised him above his head…before tearing the guard in half. His upper body falling next to a tree while his lower half landed next to the stairs. Tatsumi wiped the blood from his hands and coat before looking at the impressed faces of the assassins.
"So…what now?" He asked as Leone grabbed him by the shoulder with a chuckle.
"Now we go back to the base. Sorry for this though." He raised an eyebrow at her.
"For what?" She chopped him on the back of his head and his eyes widened before he fell unconscious.
"Ow." Tatsumi muttered as he sat up, nursing his headache, he opened his eyes finding himself in a room, sitting on a bed. His coat is still on him, along with the gauntlets.
"What? Where am I?" He asked looking around the unfamiliar room.
"You are in our base." At the monotone voice he looked at the door and found Akame standing in the doorway, her side at her side and her red eyes looking at him.
"Uh, how long were you standing there?" he asked as she walked up to him, standing in front of him and looking at his green eyes with her red ones. Tatsumi felt slightly awkward as she leaned a bit closer. She put a hand on his forehead, still covered by his hood.
"Seems you have no fever." Akame said, feeling something under her hand on his forehead.
"Uh, thanks. Can you tell me what happened?" Tatsumi asked, slightly leaning back from her.
"Leone knocked you out after you killed the last guard and brought you to our base." She said as Tatsumi nodded at her.
"How long have I slept?"
"Around seven hours. I checked every hour and a half." Tatsumi stood up and stretched his limbs.
"You have my thanks Akame." He said grinning at her and she only nodded.
"You are welcome." She said as she turned to leave, "Now, come with me. I will show you where we buried your friends." He followed her as she looked back at him from the corner of her eyes. He intrigued her, especially his eyes and his face beneath the hood.
'I wonder what he is.' She thought as they left the room and went outside.
Outside the base, Tatsumi looked out into the forest as wind blew past him. His coat shifted in the wind as well as his scarf.
'Sayo. Ieyasu.' He thought as he looked at the two graves before him. Apparently, Leone had brought them here and buried them. She gave the two idols to him which he now held in his hands. He went to the graves and put the idols on their crosses.
'We believed we would awaken the blood within us together. But it seems that only I was lucky enough to do so.' He thought looking at his eyes on the reflection of a small blade, seeing the cross-shaped pupils look back at him. He sat down and gave a prayer the village elder would give every time one of their own died.
"Oh, great Tyrant. Forgive these two souls and let them ascend to the next life. May they find peace and purpose by your side in the next life where they could not in this one. May they leave this life with peace as humans rather than beasts like so many others before." He prayed, his own idol in hand.
"Hey." He finished his prayer as he suddenly felt something round on the back of his head. He looked back and saw Leone behind him.
"Oh, hey." He replied as he stood up, "Thanks for burying them Leone. You have my gratitude." She smiled at him.
"No problem. So, are you okay?" She asked as he sighed.
"I will be fine. Maybe." She nodded and grabbed his hand.
"Well, come on. No need to be so gloomy. Come, I will introduce you to the others properly." She dragged him as Tatsumi felt a strange feeling in his gut.
'What is this feeling? I feel strange.' He thought as she held his hand and showed the inside of the base, the many rooms and spaces as well as the training ground outside.
Eventually, they reached a meeting room where they saw the rest sitting around.
"And this is the meeting room where we brief on all the missions that we receive or have done." She explained as they turned to her, "Oh, yeah. I never introduced you to the others. The green haired pervert is Lubbock."
Lubbock gave her an annoyed look, "Did you have to add that part in Leone?" she ignored him and he shook his head before looking at Tatsumi and extending his hand, "Nice to meet you." Tatsumi shook his hand.
"Likewise."
"The big guy is Bulat." She pointed at the guy with heart shaped haircut and leaned in to whisper, "He is kinda gay." Bulat chuckled at that.
"Hey now Leone. The guy might misunderstand you." He said with a slight blush as Tatsumi chuckled awkwardly.
'He didn't deny it.' He thought looking at the guy before looking at the sword next to him, for some reason feeling something strange coming from the sword.
'This feels familiar. But why?' He looked away from the sword as Leone pointed to another member.
"The girl with glasses here is Sheele." Sheele waved at him.
"Hello. It's nice to see a new face here." She said with a smile as she then went back to read her book.
'100 ways to stop being an airhead? I guess even an airhead can be dangerous.' Tatsumi thought, looking at her cute face.
"Oi Leone!" A voice shouted as Tatsumi turned to see a pink haired girl behind him, "What are you doing here?" She then looked at Tatsumi and narrowed her eyes at him, "What is he doing here?" Tatsumi felt that the girl didn't like him and he had no idea why.
"Morning Mine. I was just showing Tatsumi around." Mine's eye twitched.
"Leone, you can't just show someone our base without Boss's approval." At Leone's shrug, she shook her head. She then looked Tatsumi up and down, with the teen tilting his head as he looked at her.
"You better not think that you can just join us like that, buddy. We are professionals here." She said as she closed her eyes. Suddenly feeling a presence over her, she opened her eyes and saw Tatsumi's face inches away from hers with his green eyes looking directly at her pink ones.
"Wh-What the hell?!" She yelped as she backed away while Tatsumi stood still, "Do you even know what personal space is?!" She asked him as Tatsumi blinked before giving her a fanged grin.
"Heh, I like your attitude." He said with no hesitation, as Mine blinked at him while Leone mentally congratulated him for being bold.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" He only smiled at her.
"It means that you are cute." He said, again with no hesitation. Behind him, Leone covered her mouth to suppress her giggles as the rest grinned while Mine had a blush on her face.
"C-Cute?!" She said as Leone couldn't suppress her giggles while the rest only smiled, seeing Mine's flustered face.
"Seems like Mine is shot in the heart." Akame said with a monotone voice, which caused Leone to laugh out-loud while Tatsumi had a confused look at their reactions with Mine still blushing.
'Why are they acting like that?' he wondered, before he heard the sound of footsteps.
"I hope I haven't missed a joke if I hear laughter here." A new voice said as Tatsumi turned to see a silver haired woman with blue eye, wearing an eye patch on her right eye with a cigar in her mouth. She wore a black suit which showed her cleavage and had a mechanical right arm. Tatsumi looked at her arm as the others stopped what they were doing and Leone calmed down.
"Boss, glad to see you are back." Bulat said, leaning back on his chair.
"Glad to see you all unharmed." The woman replied as her eyes then fell to Tatsumi, "Now, who's this?" She quirked an eyebrow as she saw his green cross shaped look at her, noting his gauntlets and greaves.
"I'm Tatsumi. I'm here to join Night Raid." She raised an eyebrow at him before looking at the other subordinates.
"And how exactly did you find us?" She looked at Leone for a second before looking at Tatsumi.
"More like we found him." Leone said as she relaxed in her seat.
"We found him in the mansion of last night's target. He had killed most of the guards as well as the targets." Akame answered, slightly impressing Najenda as she looked at Tatsumi.
"Impressive." Her eye then narrowed as she looked at the gauntlets, "Still, how did you do so? If I am hearing it right, they came after you started killing. So either you are very skilled or…" Her eyes went to the gauntlets and greaves "You have a Teigu."
He blinked at her words.
"Teigu? What's a Teigu?" That surprised the assassins, especially Najenda.
"You know, Teigu?" he shook his head, "Imperial Arms?" He shook his head again as she then pointed at his weapons, "The weapons on your arms?"
He looked at his hands, "Those aren't weapons, those are my armor plates." She looked surprised as she then held up her mechanic right arm.
"May I see them?" He tilted his head but allowed her to do so as she looked them up and down, squeezing slightly, even tapping them.
"They are organic. I don't hear any metal in them." She said as she let go of his hand and looked at him, "What the hell are you? Your pupils are crossed, your armor plates are organic and you have a feral feeling on you." The assassins wondered as well as Tatsumi looked at them before shrugging as his hand went to his hood.
"Well, no point in hiding." He pulled his hood down and lowered his scarf, the assassins' eyes widened as they saw what he looked like. Silver scales covered the upper half of his face, stopping right at the lower part. His neck is covered in scales as well, his teeth are sharp and small horns are visible on his head, barely hidden by his brown-silver hair. One of his eye's sclera is black as he pulled the sleeves of his coat up, showing that even his arms are covered in scales, the armor plates and claws actually being part of his hands and forearms.
"Holy…shit…" Leone said, the statement shared by the rest of the assassins as they looked at Tatsumi removing his coat, revealing a purple sleeveless shirt underneath as well as numerous scars and the scales.
"Well, this is what I am." Tatsumi said, looking at their reactions. Najenda's cigar fell out of her mouth, Mine looked slightly afraid, Sheele had a look of wonder on her face, Leone was still shocked, Bulat and Lubbock looked at him with wide eyes and Akame had an unreadable expression on her face.
"How?" Najenda asked as she snapped out of her shock.
"Well, it's a long story, but to make it short: I come from a village where we worship the Danger Beast known as Tyrant." Bulat and Najenda's eyes went to Incursio, "Our founder had a belief that evolution was the ultimate power humanity could have, so he and several others began to worship Tyrant and just before he died, they got his blood and flesh, researched it and used them to try to give themselves evolution. After many years, they formed our village and well…" He spread his arms, "Here I am." He said, waiting for their response.
"That…is one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard," Najenda began.
"Yeah. I mean, do you hear yourself? Worshipping a Danger Beast? Are you out of your mi-?" Mine said as she snapped out of her shock.
"But I believe you." At those words, the assassins looked at Najenda in shock, as did Tatsumi.
"I heard tales about a village that had a dark past and how it formed after people found humanoid beasts in the forest. I guess all the tales are true if you are standing in front of me." The boss of Night Raid said.
"Trust me, they are real." Tatsumi said as he put his coat back on but kept the hood lowered.
"I will take your word for it." She replied, "Still, why do you want to join?" Tatsumi looked up in thought.
"I wasn't sure but seeing how you are killing the monsters who are corrupting the empire and killing the innocent, I guess I wanted to join. And well…our village is suffering from the same tax problem so I guess I want to help them as well." He explained as Najenda gave a nod.
"You got a good head on your shoulders. Well then, welcome to Night Raid, Tatsumi." She said with a slight smile as he shook her hand.
"Thank you, Boss. I won't disappoint you." He said with conviction.
'Something tells you won't.' Najenda thought as Leone came up to congratulate him as the other assassins began to ask questions, 'Things just got a lot more interesting.'
TO BE CONTINUED...
A/N: Okay, first chapter done. I want to say that it is very unlikely that I will turn the ideas here into full-fledged fanfics but I may write sequel shots. Probably no more than two or three shots per idea though.
The next idea will be to a different media, so don't expect an immediate sequel to this one.
Also, the idea here is "What if Tatsumi had Tyrant's blood before getting Incursio?" I read fanfics where he is either born a dragon or turns to a dragon due to Incursio, but never one where he is a human with Tyrant's abilities.
Hands up if you believe that Akame ga Kill anime deserves a reboot with a manga ending. Because the current anime's final arc is really disappointing and I believe that many fans will agree with me.
Read and Review and I will see you all later.
