Stephen Becomes A Father

Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange, Sorcerer Supreme was visiting the London Sanctum with Wong and they looking around the city. They stopped at King's Crossing to look at the train station; but what caught his and Wong's attention was a young girl being yelled at by an overweight man and a skinny woman along with an overweight young boy.
Stephen and Wong headed towards the overweight man and his so called family.
Harriet saw two men walking towards them and she since that they had magic but it was different from her's. She wondered who they were exactly.
"Excuse me." Harriet heard one of men say.
"Yes?" Harriet heard her uncle say.
"Why are you and your wife yelling at this child?" The man asked pointing to Harriet.
"None of your business, sir!" Harriet heard her Aunt say.
The man responded by saying, "I'm a doctor, Madam and I sure you that it is my business."
Harriet blinked.
The other man was watching the young girl and was surprised that she was that Stephen was a doctor.
Vernon was arguing with the so called doctor telling him everything and calling Stephen everything in the book of bad language. Stephen told Vernon that he recognize abuse when he sees it since he's a doctor.
Petunia was trying to her husband from making a scene but the damage was done and the people were staring at the Dursleys with disgust.
Stephen knelt down to the young girl who was sitting on her trunk and said, "My name is Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange. What's your name?"
"My name is Harriet Jayme Potter. " Harriet answered Dr. Strange.
"Well, Harriet, if it's okay with you; I'd like you to get checked out at the hospital." Stephen stated.
"Okay." Harriet said softly to Stephen.
Harriet, Stephen, and Wong talked on their way to the hospital.
Moments later, Dr. Stephen Strange along with Wong and Harriet arrived at the main London Hospital for the doctors to check Harriet out.
The British Medical Staff recognized Dr. Stephen Strange and was happy to help him immediately with the young girl who had rescued from abusive relatives.
A few minutes later, one of the doctors came out and informed Stephen that it wasn't just verbal abuse that the young girl suffered from but she also suffered from physical abuse and malnutrition for an eleven year old.
Both Stephen and Wong were stunned to hear this.
"Since her relatives were arrested; do you know if there is anyone else because her parents are dead?" The doctor asked.
Stephen looked at the doctor and said that was partly true, "From what Harriet told me; her Aunt and Uncle lied to her about her parents died by telling her that they had died in car crash and they were drunks. However, she also told me that she found out that her parents were in a special police force and had to go into hiding because one of the bad guys that they had arrested was after them. He managed to kill Harriet's parents but for some reason couldn't killed her."
The doctor gasped and said, "Dr. Strange, how long will be in London for?"
"Four weeks at the most." Stephen said.
"It just happens that my sister is a social worker here in London and will allow you to be her guardian while you're in London. " The doctor stated.
"And if no one comes forward?" Wong questioned.
"Well, Dr. Strange will become her legal guardian." The doctor stated.
Suddenly, there was a knock on door.
"Come in." The doctor said.
A little stout of a man walked in and asked, "Which one of you is Dr. Strange?"
"I am." Stephen said immediately.
The little stout of a man looked at Stephen and said, "I am one of Harriet's professors at her boarding school. One of her fellow classmates contacted me and informed me of the situation."
"I see." Stephen said.
"I also taught Harriet's parents and I may need to speak with you and your friend in private to explain a few things." The little stout man said.
"Well, right now, Harriet is getting checked out." Stephen said.
"I understand that you're to become Miss Potter's guardian and I happen to be part goblin and I am a wizard." The stout little man said.
Both Stephen and Wong were completely stunned.
"Don't worry, Sorcerer Supreme. No one can hear our conversations. By the way, my name is Professor Flitwick. Once Harriet is checked out go to the Wizarding Bank and ask for Griphook; he'll take you to King Ragnarok and he'll help you legally become Harriet's permanent guardian for both muggle and magical worlds." Flitwick said.
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Wong said.
"Yes, the Sorcerer Supreme will become Miss Potter's adoptive father. And with your help, Mr. Wong, you can teach her some things that Hogwarts can't. Although, she'll still have to return to Hogwarts regardless but the two of you may be able to help her in a way that no one else can." Flitwick said.
Stephen was stunned at what Mr. Flitwick was asking of him, "I'll do it. I understand that Miss Potter will need to be prepared for what she'll have to put up with. But it will be up to her."
Wong was shocked that Stephen was willing to be a single father for a young girl that he saved.
They continued talking for a while; so Stephen and Wong could understand exactly what Stephen was getting into by becoming Harriet's adoptive father and what he'll have to put up with when it comes to Albus Dumbledore.
A few years later...
Harriet was returning to New York after Magical War in Britain. She wondered if her father would even recognize her. However, she wondered how her father would react when he learned that she had a soulmate and his name was Anthony Edward Stark or Tony for short.
Harriet walked into a Café and was surprised that she just had bumped into her soulmate and she wondered if he was aware of who she was.
"Hello, beautiful." Tony said.
Harriet smiled and said, "So, if I'm beautiful; I guess that makes you handsome."
Tony blinked and chuckled, "No one has said that to me before."
"Well, no one has ever called me beautiful before except a my father and a few that I trust." Harriet stated.
"So, am I among the trusted few?" Tony questioned.
"Yes." Harriet responded, "Why don't we sit down and talk?"
"Sure." Tony said.
Tony and Harriet sat down at a table in the café and talked for a while. Tony was chuckling as he and Harriet were talking about themselves. However, Tony wondered if this was what an actual date felt like; but he felt like he was happy talking with Harriet.
"So, my name is Anthony Edward Stark but I go by Tony. Also, sorry for not introducing myself earlier." Tony said.
"My name is Harriet Jayme Potter-Strange and before you ask, I am not married. Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange adopted me when I was eleven after he saved me from my abusive relatives." Harriet said.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your biological parents?" Tony asked.
"My real parents died when I was a year old, then I lost my Godfather at fifteen years old followed losing my honorary godfather at seventeen." Harriet said.
Tony was shocked for a minute or two and then said, "I lost my parents when I was in my teen years."
Harriet was stunned and asked softly, "Tony?"
"Hm?" Tony said.
"Do you believe in soulmates?" Harriet questioned looking at Tony.
Tony thought for a moment and then answered, "I do believe in soulmates but I don't know when I'll meet mine."
Moments later, Stephen walked into the Café and saw Harriet talking to a gentleman; so he sat a table near by to hear what his daughter and the gentleman was talking about.
"Believe it or not, I think that I've met my soulmate; but I don't know if he'll love me for me and not what I am." Harriet stated.
"That's harsh." Tony said.
"Okay then, Tony. Let's say that you were my soulmate and I uttered the phrase 'I am a Witch.' What would go through your mind?" Harriet questioned.
Stephen was stunned to hear his daughter to say that in a public place until realized that she had placed a privacy barrier around where he sitting along where she was sitting with this guy, Tony.
"Well at first I would probably think that you were joking until I knew that you were absolutely serious by your facial expression. Then I would probably be like, 'I married my very own Samantha from Bewitched '. And if you were a witch, you are definitely the most beautiful witch and the only one that I ever met." Tony stated.
Harriet blushed a little and said, " Thank you, Tony."
"You're welcome and I hope I answered everything for you because it was nice talking to you." Tony said.
Stephen felt the barrier go down.
"It was nice talking to you too, Tony. " Harriet said.
"Tony, there you are?" A feminine voice said.
Both Tony and Harriet turned to see a strawberry blonde walking towards them and she seemed upset. They also noticed a sort of bald headed man behind her.
"Hey, Pepper. Obadiah?" Tony said.
"Who's the girl, Tony?" Obadiah questioned.
"My soulmate possibly. " Tony stated.
Harriet right off the bat could tell that this Obadiah person was a bad person. She was worried for Tony. However, Harriet noticed that Pepper was stunned at what Tony had said about her.
"Tony?" Harriet said.
Tony turned towards Harriet and said, "Yes?"
"Be careful, while you're over there in Afghanistan." Harriet said.
Tony smiled and said, "Sure. By the way, Harriet, do mind if I kiss you?"
Harriet seemed surprised and said, "I don't mind, Tony."
Tony pulled Harriet into a gentle but passionate kiss; which surprised Pepper and Obadiah along with Harriet's father, Stephen. During the kiss, both Harriet and Tony felt a spark run through themselves causing a barrier of privacy for them only.
Tony broke the kiss and looked at Harriet then said, "Um...does this mean what I think it means?"
"Yeah, it does." Harriet answered.
"So, you're a witch?" Tony questioned
Harriet nodded.
"So, my soulmate is like Samantha from Bewitched?" Tony questioned.
"Yes, but I don't twitch my nose." Harriet stated.
"Well, who knows. You might be able to twitch your nose like Samantha." Tony said.
Harriet smiled and said, "I believe that I have kept you long enough, Tony."
"Yes, but you were worth it, beautiful." Tony said returning a smile, "Also, I wonder if it's true what they saw about soulmates?"
"And what's that?" Harriet questioned.
"If one of is in trouble, will we feel each other's pain?" Tony questioned.
"I don't know, but you had to wait for a long time for me, Tony." Harriet said.
"Yeah and I'm sure it was the same for you, Harriet." Tony said.
"Yes, it was and I had to wait to learn of my my soulmate which was you. Who would thought that we meet each other today." Harriet said.
Tony chuckled and said, "That's true."
"Tony, I will admit that I have an uneasy feeling; so be careful out there." Harriet said.
"I will." Tony said.
The privacy barrier broke again and Tony walked over to Pepper and Obadiah.
"And Tony?" Harriet said.
Tony faced Harriet before he walked out and said, "Yes?"
Harriet smiled and said, "You are a strong person, Tony. No one can take that away from you and no one will, Tony."
Tony smiled and nodded then left.
"Harriet, do I want to know?" Stephen questioned.
"Well, father, you just met your future son-in-law." Harriet said.
Stephen blinked.
A day later...
Pepper was worried for her best friend and boss, Tony. She didn't know if the young lady that Tony had met the day before knew about Tony.
She noticed an ambulance heading for the park and immediately followed wondering what was going on. When she arrived she was shocked to see it was the young woman that Tony had talked with and kissed the day before.
"What exactly happened?" The EMT questioned.
"We don't know. One minute, the young woman was fine and then she started coughing up water and was jerking like she was having seizures or like she was stunned by a stun gun." A man said.
"Not mention, she said that her soulmate was being tortured in a cave in a place of sand." A woman said.
Pepper was stunned to hear what the woman said and began to realize that the young woman that Tony met was in fact his soulmate. She literally ran over in heels and told the EMT who's soulmate the young lady was.
The EMT was shocked and asked, "Are you serious?"
"Check her wrist!" Pepper said.
The EMT did as he was told and saw the name Anthony Edward Stark "Tony" on the young lady's wrist. He looked at Pepper with wide eyes then said, "We'll take her to the hospital and check her over. If this is what I think then she knows that Mr. Stark is alive through the soulmate bond that forms when they first meet."
Pepper nodded and asked, "Who is her father; so I can contact him to let him know what is going on?"
The female EMT responded, "Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange, a former Neurosurgeon. He lives on 177 A Bleecker Street, New York on the corner of Bleecker Street and Fenno Place in the heart of Greenwich Village."
"Okay." Pepper said.
"We'll take her to the Metro-General Hospital where Dr. Stephen Strange use to work at. I am sure there is someone he trusts there with the care of his daughter." The male EMT said.
Pepper nodded and watched as they took the young woman away. Then she called Happy and told him where to go.
They arrived at the place and was completely stunned at how huge the mansion was. Both Pepper and Happy got out of the car.
"May I help you?" A man asked.
Pepper and Happy both saw an Asian man standing there. Then Pepper said, "Yes, I am Pepper Potts and I work as Tony Stark's PA. Is Dr. Strange here?"
"I am Wong. What is your business here?" Wong asked.
"I came to inform Dr. Strange that his daughter was taken to Metro-General Hospital because she mysteriously started coughing up water and it seemed like she was having seizures or like she had been attacked by a stun gun." Pepper said.
At that moment, Stephen made an appearance and said, "Wong, Miss Potts speaks the truth."
Wong, Happy, and Pepper looked up at the top of the stairs.
"And if I know my daughter like I do; she'll be pissed off that someone harmed someone that she cares about." Stephen said.
Meanwhile, at Metro-General Hospital...
Dr. Palmer couldn't believe that Stephen's adopted daughter was being brought in to make sure that she was okay. She recalled when Stephen had told her that he had become a father by adopting a little girl from London that he had rescued from an abusive Aunt and Uncle as well as a cousin.
Stephen definitely had changed since he became a father as Dr. Palmer recalled. She remembered when Stephen had brought Harriet in what was the end of fourth year at her boarding school; he seemed really upset.
Dr. Weiss was getting ready to prick Harriet when Dr. Palmer walked in and stopped him immediately because she informed that this young lady was Stephen's adoptive daughter and that he should have Stephen's permission before he does anything.
"Dr. Palmer, we need to help her." Dr. Weiss said.
"Well, if you believe in soulmates, Dr. Weiss then I suggest you wait because if you hurt her; her soulmate will feel it as well." Dr. Palmer said.
"Do you know who her soulmate is, Dr. Palmer?" Dr. Weiss questioned.
Dr. Palmer was about to answer when suddenly AC/DC started playing over the speakers.
"Why is AC/DC playing?" Dr. Weiss questioned.
Suddenly, they heard, "She's in tune with him again, apparently."
Then they heard a woman's voice say, "One of Tony's favorite bands is AC/DC. Could she possibly be channeling Tony for some reason."
"It's a possibility because Tony may be working on something to try to be free from his captors. I am only guessing." The male voice answered the female voice.
What nobody was aware of was that Tony and Harriet were communicating telepathically due to the soulmate bond.
Somewhere in Afghanistan...
Tony along with Yinsen were working on an idea that Tony had. However, he had been talking with his soulmate telepathically which surprised him. She literally sent him music to work to. He smiled as he continued to work.
Yinsen was surprised to see Tony Stark smile suddenly and wondered what possibly brought that smile to his face.
"What has you smiling, Stark?" Yinsen asked curiously.
"My soulmate has been in contact with me the whole time that I have been here. She and I met before I came here to Afghanistan which kind of seems ironic." Tony said.
Yinsen had to admit to himself that that did seem ironic for Tony.
Moments later, Yinsen and Tony had fought their way out, but unfortunately Yinsen was killed. Tony destroyed half the nuclear weapons that his captors had that belonged to Stark Industries of all things.
Back in New York...
Harriet's eyes opened which startled Dr. Weiss as well as Dr. Palmer. Stephen and Pepper had just stepped into the room.
"Harriet?" Stephen questioned his daughter.
"Rhodey will find Tony now." Harriet said without looking at them.
"Huh?" Pepper questioned just as Pepper's phone vibrated, "Hello?"
"Pepper, it's Rhodey. We've got Tony and we are heading back to the states."
"Thank God! Tell Tony that we'll be there to meet him along with two people. I'm pretty sure Tony will know who one of them is." Pepper stated, "In fact, I'm with her and her father now."
"Okay, Pepper. But do I want to know?"
"Trust me, you'll find out when you land." Pepper said.
Two hours later...
Pepper, Happy, and Dr. Strange along with his daughter were at the airport to greet Tony.
As soon as the plane landed, Harriet took off running towards the ramp.
Obadiah had showed up but was confused about the young woman running to greet Tony.
Pepper looked at Dr. Strange and said, "How are you so calm when your daughter does something dangerous?"
Stephen chuckled and said, "My daughter has faced horrible things in her life and she can pretty much kick... if you excuse the word...ass."
Pepper's eyes went wide at that.
Tony was coming down the ramp when he saw Harriet running towards him immediately. He held out arm and grabbed her then pulled her close for a kiss.
Rhodey was behind Tony and was stunned but heard the young lady say, "Tony, is this where...?"
Rhodey watched as Tony nodded to answer her.
"I'm just happy that you're home, Tony. Trust me, it was he'll for me and I think I scared Pepper." Harriet told Tony.
Tony chuckled and said, "I guess seeing the unexplainable happen could scare anyone really, Nix."
Harriet smiled and said, "Only you, Tony."
"Yeah and you love me for it." Tony replied.
"That I do." Harriet said.
"I'm guessing that I get to meet your father then." Tony said.
"Yes and he may call you a douche bag because his job is stressful at times." Harriet warned.
Rhodey wondered Tony and the lady meant. It wasn't until, he saw a man dressed in a dark navy blue suit standing beside Pepper then he saw Obadiah and what Obadiah was doing here.
Rhodey then watched Tony walk towards the man in the dark navy blue suit and shake his hand; but he couldn't hear anything that Tony and the man were saying.
Moments later...
Rhodey heard Tony say, "It was a honor to meet you, Dr. Stephen Strange."
"Yes, I know you'll treat my daughter with respect, Stark." Stephen said.
"You have my word, sir." Tony said.
Stephen hugged his daughter then left.
Harriet was smiling at Tony.
Tony smiled back and said, "So that's what it feels like meeting the parents but in this case it was a parent."
"Yes, but what he does is very important." Harriet said.
"When you say it like that, Nix; I can't help but wonder." Tony said letting Harriet get in the car.
"Let's say that most of the time that I would return home for the holidays from school; dad had to work so he wouldn't go attack the Headmaster of the school. " Harriet stated.
Rhodey and Pepper were both wide eyed at hearing that.
"I'm guessing the Headmaster pissed your father off." Tony said.
"In more ways than one and trust me, if you piss him off; you'll feel like you're falling for more than thirty minutes." Harriet stated.
Tony chuckled and said, "I'll believe you, Nix."
"Tony, why are you calling her Nix instead of Harriet?" Pepper questioned.
"Well, Harriet told me that her dearly departed godfather called her Phoenix so I decided to call her Nix for short." Tony said.
Two years later...
Harriet and Tony were engaged. However, when Loki decided to make his base of sorts at Stark Tower that was Loki's mistake.
Tony had flown off to Stark Tower immediately when he realized where Loki was and he was not happy.
"Is it just me or did Stark looked mad?" An agent asked.
Natasha realized something and said, "Oh shit!"
"Care to share, Agent Romanov?" Fury questioned.
"Tony is engaged and his fiance is at Stark Tower!" Natasha said.
Steve was stunned to learn that Tony Stark was engaged as were the others.
"What's her name, Nat?" Clint asked.
"I don't know her real name because Tony always called her Nix around people and Pepper along with Happy would also call her Nix." Natasha said.
