THAT SYLVEON

Here it comes. Chapter 44 in our canonical adventure. Well actually, it's like chapter 41 or something like that. Keeping track of these things is not exactly my forte. Anyways, hope you do enjoy this chapter.

LuanOTP owns nothing. Also, I got asked an interesting question on my server; what accents do each character have? I loved doing this. Of course, the characters can have voices of whatever your imagination can produce. This was just for the funsies and ease of reading in your head, or perhaps out loud! Here's a pretty extensive list of what sort of voices the characters would have, ahead of this chapter to enhance your reading experience:

Julley - A cute voice. Timmy Turner in TG, and Danny Phantom in TS.

Cassidy - Whatever accent Lady Palutena has.

Anais - Sam from iCarly.

Julius - N/A

Jasmine - Helen Parr, or Elastigirl, from The Incredibles.

Brendan - New York accent.

Barry - Teen Gohan. Cell Saga.

Abby - English. Think Bayonetta, but with a slightly deeper voice. If you need help with what that sounds like, ask your mum.

Raidon - Sydney, Australia. Exactly there. Think of the YouTuber Mr. FreshAsian.

Tyson - Canadian English with a hidden Spanish accent.

Bonnie - Voiced by Kim Kardashian.

Cooper - Southern Californian. Think Bill Grey from StarFox.

Manu - Boston accent.

Lola - Italian/English accent.

If this'll help at all, feel free to refer to it. Let me know how you imagine certain character's voices in your head! After all, this is merely my opinion.

...

Pacing around the room, a Glaceon couldn't help but glance at the time from the clock that hung on the kitchen wall lifelessly. Half past 6. The sun was still ripe in the sky, yet was followed by an army of vexed storm clouds that looked ready to let rip at any moment, reminding the ice type of their inevitability. That'd be so, if Cassidy dared look out of the window. She couldn't help but keep herself moving and occupied. Her heart beat like a Buneary in the wild, and her expression a cold, distant frown.

She took a look on the kitchen table; next to a few bowls of eaten berries that she had neglected cleaning, a crumpled letter with cursive writing that beckoned her to take another read. Another read. Another read. Each and every thought that reminded her of the cursed paper made her stomach feel like it was bound by rope. She staggered over to the sink, just in case her lunch decided to make a return.

Breathing in and out, she blinked multiple times just to make sure that she hadn't thrown up, before returning to all fours back on the marble floor. Instead, she slid down against the closed cabinet of the drainpipe, and sat on her rear, covering her face with paws that refused to cease involuntary shaking. Lightheadedness and nausea. The duo of terror swayed her body from side to side like a metronome that was soon to lie on one side.

Footsteps. Cassidy's ears perked up, and suddenly she was alive. Her eyes turned to the basement door, which was slowly pushed open from the inside. An Umbreon emerged, and she was young again.

Smiling, she found the will to prop herself up on the four paws Arceus gave her, and approached the Umbreon with slightly tearful eyes.

"Hi, Julley." she breathlessly greeted, forgetting how fast she was breathing to begin with. "I-Is everything alright?"

"Y-Yeah, umm… I-I'm not- Oop!"

Julley, the Umbreon who was previously also drenched in the venom of dread, felt himself lifted by the surprise kiss laid upon his lips by his wife. Two paws affectionately propped up the bottom of his chin, as he was endlessly pecked by the Glaceon. She pulled away after a while, leaving her saliva on his lips. It didn't stop the ringed Pokemon from giving her a parting kiss, though.

"W-W-Wow, aha… Even up to now, y-you still surprise me..." Julley commented, wiping his mouth of all the ensued saliva.

Cassidy beamed. "Aha, I'm sorry, Julley. Everytime I see your face, no matter how sad I am, I just want to kiss you!"

Her husband's smile reached a zenith for a fraction of a second post chuckling. Although, it faded as soon as it had appeared, the longer he had stared into her eyes. Then, he conceded and looked at the floor.

"Um… B-By the way… I-I came up here to tell you, that… Anais, hasn't been p-picking up her phone… a-and, she isn't back from school yet..."

"W-What?!" the Glaceon shouted in disbelief. Julley winced in response. She hurriedly glanced back at the wall clock, as if she was missing something. "S-She hasn't come back from school yet?"

Sadly, Julley shook his head. Looking at his wife, her gaze seemed to become more and more distant. "U-Uh… C-Cass? Are you o-"

"Why did we let her go to school in the first place? We need to call the police!"

"W-Wait!" called out the Umbreon, placing his hands on his ice type's shoulders to catch her from falling down this perpetually disastrous phase of panic. "Cass, calm down, okay? We can't really call the police, b-but it's going to be alright. Cooper, Tyson and Brendan are coming over to uhh… Hopefully finalise a plan."

"B-But what about Julius?"

"I'll have the both of you dropped at Jasmine's house. It's m-much safer there."

Her husband answered all her queries except one. She fell back on her behind, disparagingly. "Oh, Julley. How can you possibly stay calm? I'm freaking out here!"

"I-I know, I know…" the Moonlight Pokemon sighed, meekly getting closer to his wife. "I'm just as worried as you are, C-Cassidy. B-But, I'm not a kid anymore; we aren't kids anymore. I don't want to spend my time g-getting scared, or anything like that. I-I wanna be a man."

The Glaceon whose lips quivered in a mix of dread and delight upped, and wiped the tears that jerked at her eyes. She pulled the dark type in for a hug, sniffling at the beauty of courage that inspired her.

"You are a man, Julley." said Cassidy into his ears, shutting her eyes and letting her sense of touch enjoy the feel of the Umbreon in her grasp. "You're my man."

Julley held Cassidy in front of her, who now wore a true twinkle. He reciprocated the expression, brimming full of confidence.

"And you're my wife. T-That's why I'd never let anything to you." he spoke softly, stroking the fur that swayed above her head. "Now, l-lets go and show that guy w-what for."

"Y-Yeah, we'll do it!"

A mini celebration occurred between the two as a celebration of their morale and moxie. Soon to be cut short by a trio of knocks from the door. Cassidy stood still, glaring the door down as if she expected a Gyrados to pop out from the mail slot and bite her head off. Julley trotted down the foyer, opening the door with anticipation of a different trio.

Tyson, the fluffy Typlohsion, stood clad in a black vest, indicating that he had just got off work. His grin and endearing aura made the Umbreon feel right at home. Next to him on the left, a Blaziken, donning a black tuxedo, a pair of shades that sat snug on his beak, and a prominent blush. Interestingly, he held two briefcases in each talon. Bringing up the rear was a Jolteon, finally. The electric type who was the oldest of them all, though still boasted the body of an athlete in their prime, and the smile of a model at the peak popularity.

"Y-You guys made it!" Julley exclaimed in joyous surprise, though the blasé Cooper shrugged his shoulders.

"Hey, why wouldn't we, Jull? I've got an agenda to settle." he muttered, slapping Julley on the back as he welcomed himself inside the house. "So where's my little sis, eh? There you are!"

"Cooper!"

"Cass!"

Cassidy, who had just come from the kitchen, embraced her older brother in the middle of the hallway, carefully stroking each other's fur with longing care. The unlikely Pokemon triple of an Umbreon, a Blaziken and a Typhlosion sweatdropped at the immense affection. Julley focused on the others who waited at the entrance.

"I guess we could give those two a minute." Tyson suggested, crossing his arms and grinning cumbersomely. "How's it going, Julley?"

The father of a Sylveon and an Eevee sidestepped to let the others in. "F-Fine, thanks. A-Also, thanks for coming over. U-Uh, that's a nice suit, Brendan."

The Volcano Pokemon heartily guffawed. "I know right? I haven't seen you clean up this well in awhile."

Brendan slouched over, absorbing unwanted attention. "Cut me some slack, man. I just got off dinner with Jasmine." he excused, whipping out a John that couldn't quite explain the briefcases he held in each hand. "All in all, glad to back you again though, Julley. Your bones to pick are my bones to break." The Blaziken then set his uncanny silver-sheened bags down just at the foot of the stairs. "Also, I hope you don't mind that I brought some extra stuff over?"

Worriedly skeptical, Julley eyed the stationary cases with concern. "U-Um, sure. Let's head down to the basement. You can bring them down, i-if you want."

"Sure. Let's dip."

Julley schooched past the happily bumbling pair of Eeveelution siblings, who couldn't stop wagging their chins in delight. He led Tyson and Brendan through the door below the stairs, and down the cricketing staircase to the bottom floor. Meanwhile, after a long embrace, Cooper stared into the turquoise eyes of his younger sister, that never seemed to stop gleaming.

"I'm so stoked that I get to see my younger sis again. It feels like ages each time I see you. Have you grown?!" the Jolteon guffawed, raising a paw up to his forehead before moving it to his younger sister's.

Cassidy laughed and mockingly shooed the paw away. "Come on, Cooper. I'm thirty-two now. I'm not that little kid who'd cry over stubbing their toe."

"Arceus, Cass. You used to cry over everything when you were a tyke." joshed the Jolteon, wearing a mile-wide grin that Cassidy knew too well. "Of course, then you got preggers all of a sudden, and…"

"Hey!"

"Alright, alright, I'm just kidding."

The Glaceon warmly smiled. A mother of two, yet she still had to glance upwards to look at her brother. The electric type gazed fondly in response. If he had a tail, Cassidy was sure that it'd be wagging all about right now.

"By the way, Cass, I'm sorry about what's going on right now." said Cooper, his smile turning serious. "But, being your big bro 'n' all, I'll sort it out for you. Just like I saved Mr. Noodle from that tree."

Once more, Cooper ruffled the fur on Cassidy's head, making her have to clean up the mess sometime later.

"Aha, you haven't changed a bit. I can't believe you still remember Mr. Noodle after all these years too."

"Neither have you. You really need to come over sometime. Zoey misses you, as per usual."

The Glaceon grinned giddily. "She's so sweet! I'll be sure to put that on my to-do list. How's Chloe?"

"Chloe? She's doing really well. She evolved into a Zoroark a couple weeks ago, actually."

"Crazy. We're all kinda growing up too."

"You said it." Cooper agreed, although his facial expression looked a little bit awkward. "Though, I better not keep those guys waiting any longer."

"Right! You should get down there."

"Yeah. I'll catch you in a bit, sis. Get somethin' to eat while you're up here too."

"See you! I'll bring you guys something, too!" Cassidy smiled as she watched her elder sibling wave her off, then open the wooden door that led to the creaky stairs of the occupied basement. The door opened, and Cooper had vanished with a thud.

Now that she was alone, an anxious frown returned to violate her usually cheerful visage, and bring that lightheadedness sensation back with full force. She slowly turned to the faucet with hydration in mind. Perhaps a brief rest after feeding Julius would do her some good.

"...Oh, Arceus… Give me strength at least."

...

Cooper carefully scampered down the basement stairs, and found himself in a not-so well lit room underground with three other Pokemon surrounding a table. The grey stone walls reeked of bleak dampness and slight ramshackle. Illuminating the various tables, scaffolds, and punching bag located in the corner of the room was a rickety light that looked like it was seconds away from dropping from it's socket and wroughting a brouhaha. His eyes landed on the Umbreon who struggled to make it onto his stool to sit at the table.

"Hey, Julley, ya need a bit of help there?" teased Cooper, sniggering as he hopped past the Pokemon who he had six years over. He took a seat on the unoccupied chair with ease, rubbing his tushie on the complaining steel.

"T-These things are just a little bit too tall, that's it…" excused the dark type, finally making it onto the stool after it rocketed about from the added weight. "Right, so… Umm… We have a problem…"

Brendan rolled his eyes, his head following the same relatively circular movement. "Yeah, we know. That's why we're here."

"R-Right. Of course. S-So, um… What do we do?"

Cooper's forearm pounded the unprepared wooden table. "First, we gotta know who, and what we're dealing with here. You said he was a Flygon, right Julley?"

The Umbreon nodded his head. "Yeah. And uh… I think he's gotten a hold of Anais, too. He had sent a letter regarding the… Um, the hostage information… Do I show it to you guys?"

"Well, duh! Go grab it!"

"Oh! Oh… Okay, hold on."

Three pairs of irises trailed Julley shooting up the stairs. Once the basement door was shut, Tyson let out an exhale that anyone could tell was kept pent up for way too long. The mousy Typhlosion ran a paw on the side of his cheek, skittishly letting his vision exchange hands between glaring at the barely smirking Jolteon as well as the steel-faced Blaziken. He took a gulp for good measure.

"So uh… How're you guys like, so relaxed in all of this?" he questioned, inadvertently letting his sheepish paws twiddle with each other. "You both look like you could perform a surgery with your eyes closed. Meanwhile, I'd be like, sweatin' into their wounds or somethin'!"

Faltering gradually, Cooper's grin became a flat line on the heart rate monitor of a deceased corpse. "I'll be honest with you, Tyson. I'm shook like heck." The Jolteon turned to the Blaze Pokemon with the shades. "Maybe you should be asking the ice cube pro over here."

Eyes fell on the relaxed fire type, who took off his shades and shrugged. "What can I say, I'm no stranger to a scrap."

The door reopened. Julley came back downstairs, now equipped with the promised letter. He had laid it out on the table, for everyone to read. Each took turns looking at the written menace, all ending in different reactions. Tyson looked terrified. Brendan annoyedly held his beak in thought. Cooper kissed his teeth.

"There's no way we'd let this schmuck make off with my sis!" declared the Jolteon, slamming his paws on the table. "No way in the Distortion world!"

"T-That's really why I called you guys for help. Don't tell Cassidy this, but uh… I kinda don't know what to do."

A pair of eyes dawned on the meek Umbreon. They were of Cooper's, and they were furious.

"Then, I have a proposition. We take this guy, head on."

The Typhlosion to the left of Julley seemed to shrink in his seat. "Head on? I don't know about that one."

"What? You don't think we can take this one guy?" argued the electric type, pointing to the crest on the Typhlosion's vest. "C'mon, Tyson! You 'n' Brendan's job is literally to beat people up! A Flygon should be nothin'!"

"Wait… B-But what if he isn't the only person there?" chimed Julley, awkwardly rapping his paws on the table. "Like, he could be prepared in case Cassidy didn't come alone…"

Cooper snapped his fingers in concession. He had half a thought to really let the defenseless wooden table really have it, before remembering whose house this belonged to. "Damn. Then what?"

"Couldn't we just, talk it out with him?" Tyson suggested, shrugging his shoulders. His viewpoint seemed to clash with Cooper's. "There must be some sum of money we can give this dude?"

The Umbreon seemed to also disagree with the idea, shaking his head. "I don't know, Tyson. I'm sure he's got Anais held where he is, too. I wouldn't want to gamble my daughter's life with money." Once he was done speaking, Julley faced the tuxedo-clad Blaze Pokemon, staring into the yellow rings of his own reflection from his shades. "Hey, Brendan… You're uh… sorta quiet. Is everything okay?"

The Blaziken in question took off his sunglasses, and presented two briefcases onto the table. "I was just waiting for the gents - and Tyson - to show their ideas before I present to you… WHAM!"

Both of the cases opened simultaneously, presenting a cluster of assorted silenced handguns in one, while the other displayed four assault vests, ready to be donned. The three other participants of the occasion gawked at the collection.

"What the heck?!" shouted Julley, eyes as wide as tires on a monster truck. "W-W-W-Where did you get these from?!"

"Uhh… Well, when I first joined the B team for the Delta's, you really get to meet a lot of… Weirdos…"

...

Brendan, a father of an eight-year old, stood across from a happy looking Blastoise. Both were in a field with a box of myriads of different types of guns (ranging from pistols to assault rifles), and a target nailed into the ground half a mile away. The 25-year old battler watched in awe, as the water type laid on thick, two submachine guns in both hands.

"Lemme tell you wut, Brennie," the shelled Pokemon exclaimed in his Southern Unovan accent, not bothering to watch the volume to his voice. "Duh one thing I like about gurns?"

"I don't know, Freddie. What's tha-"

Unfortunately, cut off was the Blaziken's speech by the shrill shriek of two guns going off rapidly. Each explosion coming from the barrel that ejected a bullet shook the ground with a pain-inducing tremor. Meanwhile, the Blastoise bellowed as loud as he could, rinsing in the sound of the target being ripped apart to shreds by the onslaught of lead. Brendan covered his ears, not prepared for the onslaught of pellets being rocketed out from the compact guns that really packed a punch on his ear drums.

The submachine guns soon expelled all the ammunition from their box-fed magazines. Once Freddie the Blastoise had exhausted the guns of their lead, he dropped both of them to the grassy floor that was littered with the metal jackets of the bullets. Smoke bled from the barrels of the ranged weapons. The water type glanced up at his fire type companion, his face brimming with confidence.

"It's that dey go BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG- Click! Chick-ching! Kick-Kick! BANGBANGBANG!" Freddie yapped in one breath, doing all the gestures for shooting and reloading a two-handed gun. "Ain't it the truth?"

"...My Wife said we shouldn't hang out anymore."

...

Brendan snapped his digits. "He gave this to me as a parting gift. I had to get licensed for it of course. But, I think this might just be our get out of jail free card."

The look on Julley's face didn't seem too convincing. Although, the Jolteon seemed to love what he was looking at.

"I don't know, Brendan. That might just make things escalate into a gunfight, a-and I've never shot a gun before!" the Moonlight Pokemon whined, making the armed Blaziken pout and close the briefcase. Cooper also dropped his shoulders in turn. "There has to be a less violent way, right?"

"Can't agree wit' that, Julley." interjected the dew-yellow-furred quadrupedal, shaking his head. "This is a crisis at your hands, dude, that requires hasty thinking, moxie..." Cooper then pointed to the briefcases. "And everything in there."

The Umbreon tucked his lip under his canine. Confused in thought.

I don't know… Guns? That's just… It must be too far, right?

It might just provoke an even larger situation…

I've never been in this situation in my life. I've never held a gun before, let alone-

Geez. Not to be that guy, Julley, but you need to like, shut up or something. This is a life or death situation. Three of your best friends are willing to put their lives on the line for your own daughter, because they all know what's worth fighting for. Look at Tyson. You've barely hung out with him for long, but he's already committed himself to protecting your family, leaving his own behind meanwhile. Even Brendan, after tormenting you for a couple weeks or something, came to realise his actions and used his prowess to defend you. Then, Cooper. He should be hating your guts because you managed to get his little sister pregnant the second she turned legal, yet there he stands. By your side again, as he did on your wedding day, and the day of birth for your firstborn. It's time to recognise where your priorities lie, and that you have responsibility over not solely your wife and children, but also those who once held responsibility over you.

...You're right. A-Arceus, you're actually right!

Huh? What the… Oh-OH! This thing is on? I thought I was ranting to Giratina. My B.

Yup, that was his b. Hate to admit it, but that was kinda rockin', dude.

Julley snapped back to reality. His vision unravelled before him, and he gandered upon the apprehensive faces of his peers and brother-in-laws. The realisation him like a rock, that Arceus had predicted and thrown at his skull. He felt weightless, yet still remained headstrong. Glaring at Brendan, he ordered his attention by setting a paw on the table.

"I just had a thought, and I think you guys are right." spoke the Umbreon, quickly earning the ears of companions Tyson and Cooper, who were previously disengaged. "We do need to be aggressive. N-Not entirely as you said, Tyson; We may need to do some negotiating. A-And, it might involve us having to go through the middle like Cooper suggested, or even the uh… Weaponry. But, I-I'm sure it'll involve all three, if not two. A-Anais is counting on us, so I think I may have a plan that'll help us get through this."

The electric type with the yellow fur coat slapped his knee and pumped his fist. "There we go, Julley! Now you're speakin' my language!"

Tyson wagged his head frantically. "I can definitely get behind that idea."

"Hang on, let's hold our Rappidash for one second." told the Blaze Pokemon, glaring at Julley though polarised lenses. "What sort of plan are we talking about?"

"I-It might be a little confusing, but please, just hear me out on this one.

...

...

Jasmine's car was parked outside the Breon-Solian residence, with the respective Lucario sitting in the drivers' seat. A sleeping Eevee had already occupied the centre of the backseat. The car seemed to have been slightly dirtied up, despite the fact Jasmine didn't remember driving it for sometime now. She surveyed four Pokemon bidding their farewells to a sobbing Glaceon, who trudged toward her vehicle. Escorting her was a familiar dark type Eeveelution, keeping close while following her down the footpath to the street. It was evident by her puffy eyes that the poor thing had been crying her eyes out during the ordeal.

Finally, Cassidy made it to the open door of the Lucario's open convertible. She had forced a smile upon eye contact with Jasmine, but it had faded quickly once the door had shut while she strapped herself in. Julley peered over the door, greeting his step-sister with a half baked beam.

"T-Thanks for helping us out, Jasmine. I really appreciate it." said Julley, noticing his sister's apparel. "Oh, um… Nice dress, also."

"Appreciate it, bro. I was just out to dinner with Brendan before I came over. Speaking of which, make sure that Blaziken comes back in one piece. Otherwise, you won't hear the end of it." ordered the fighting and steel type, glaring daggers at the sweating Blaze Pokemon who was still on the footpath.

Julley's ears flattened. "R-Right, no problem." he then looked at his icy wife, who seemed to have calmed down a bit now, yet still, her head hung low from her shoulders. "Cass, look at me."

Cassidy lifted her gaze. The engine to the car roared awake, before silently purring.

"M-Me and the guys are gonna go there, and all four of us are gonna come back, w-with Anais, too." declared the dark type, daring to delve closer to the Glaceon's face. "A-And, we'll have a feast after it as well. But for now, you just need to trust us, and keep with Jasmine as close as possible, okay?"

Sombre, but understanding, Cassidy gently nodded, leaning forward to smooch her husband on the muzzle without warning.

"Okay, Julley… I'm counting on you…"

The Umbreon made a smile, and the Glaceon caught it as well, a twinkle of her own finally forming on her lips. This one was surely genuine.

"Don't worry a single bit."

The car reversed back a metre, before it began it's long journey to the Bursyamo residence. Julley waved off his wife, son and sister goodbye, as the vehicle became smaller and smaller, eventually fading into insignificance.

Taking a deep sigh, the Umbreon turned to the trio - still stood together on the front lawn - whose company soothed his anxieties. Cooper had stepped forward. He could hear the jangling of car keys stuck in the Jolteon's fur.

"C'mon, Julley. It's time to go."

Blinking in not only anticipation, the apprehensive dark type stepped toward Cooper's sparkling white four door car, stopping only outside the passenger door, but placing his quivering paw on the ivory handle.

Arceus, you better be on our side.

Arceus..?

No promises.

That might just conclude it for this chapter. Thanks to everyone that decided to give this thing a read. I really enjoyed making this one. Got a good row out of it, especially with my playlist on. Anyway, I'll see you next chapter!
