The moist breeze of the coast felt nice. It also created a scene of beauty as it teased the brunette's hair upon her seat on the hood of his car. Along with the setting sun outlining a warm halo around her body, it was starting to feel like one of those cheesy coming of age romance movies.
"Is the view that good, Grayson?" She laughed, her tongue a little loose as a bottle of golden liquid dangled from her fingertips.
"I would, but I think it would only feed your ego." He said from his spot beside the driver side door. Zatanna scoffed.
"Pfft. Self-reflecting, much." She swished the liquid with a subtle shake of the bottle before bringing it up to her lips, He watched her throat as the hard drink went down in silent amazement at how graceful and easy she made it look. He waited until she brought the bottle down to ask:
"So what are you going to do now, Ms. Graduate?"
She pursed her lips. "I haven't really thought about it. I planned on taking over dad's magic show."
"There's nothing wrong about that," he slowly walked forwards to the front side of the car to stand beside her. "But it's always nice to keep your options open, too."
"Really? Like what?"
"Hmm. Maybe a teacher."
"A teacher?" She let go of the bottle while in shock. It was thanks to Dick's good reflexes that the bottle didn't hit the ground. "Thanks, but seriously? A teacher?"
"Yeah. I can imagine it now. Those little kids running in, excited for Ms. Zatara's first lesson of the day. Or maybe even those high schoolers and college students fighting over front row seats to watch Ms. Zatara teach."
"Haha. Well since you can see it so well maybe I should start practicing." Suddenly she leaned over towards him and grabbed his arm and pulled him in front of her.
"Hey!" He protested as she dragged him in front of the car to fit in between the space between her legs. In her other hand was the bottle, now half full.
"First lesson: How To Hold Your Liquor 101. Tilt your head back."
"Dick!"
The brunette shook his head. The picturesque scene dissolved to a dimly lit bar and silky black hair bleached into thick blonde curls. The eye color was off too, a shade lighter.
"Uh, yeah?"
"You really zoned out there. Everything okay?"
"Oh, yeah. Everything's fine." He pushed his drink away with a slight push. "I just think I'll forgo the Tequila."
