Her backpack made a loud thud on the floor after Zatanna threw it down, not caring for the books or other supplies inside. She threw herself on to her bed above the covers and buried her head in her pillows.

Someone knocked on her door moments later. "Zatanna? Is everything okay?"

She lifted her head from her pillows momentarily to answer. "I'm fine, Megan. Just tired." She hoped her voice didn't sound weird when she said it.

"Are you sure? It's just that I heard a thud."

"I'm fine. It was just my bookbag."

"Well, okay," she could hear the redhead's hesitation. "I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything, okay."

"Okay." She waited until she heard the martian's footsteps fade off to smother herself back into her bed. At some point she drifted off.

When she awoke she heard humming. The low timber was slow and calming. It sounded like a lullaby.

"Robin?" The humming stopped. The hand she just noticed was carding through her hair stopped too. Wasn't the door locked?

"I hacked the lock." He sounded nervous. Did he think she'd be upset?

"Ah."

"Are you okay? M'gann said something happened." She shuffled on the bed to turn on her side. She opened her eyes to see him. He was wearing his civvies, his eyes still hidden behind his shades.

"Just a rough day."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No," she shimmed forward in the bed until her head was level with his lap and she comfortably snuggled back against his stomach.

"You're here. That's enough."
