The Funfair
A funfair had arrived in town a few days ago and the students in class 1-A had wanted to go during the weekend. Katsuki, Eijiro and Mina were looking at the various stalls and attractions. Mina devoured a cotton candy she had just bought and pointed at a psychic's tent.
'We can go there,' she said.
Eijiro sighed.
'Don't tell me you believe in that stuff ?'
'Come on, it will be fun.'
'We'll be ripped off. What if we go to a roller coaster instead.'
'Bakugo, what do you want to do ?'
But Katsuki was not listening to them. His attention was turned to a few stands away. Izuku was standing in front of a rifle range. He looked at his wallet sadly and sighed. You did not have to be a genius to realize that he had spent his money. What an idiot, Katsuki thought. He had seen him earlier with Ochaco and Tenya spending all their money at every stalls they saw. No wonder he was broke now. Katsuki moved away from his friends.
'Where are you going ?' Eijiro asked.
'Go on without me.'
He approached the stall where Izuku were. He was looking with envy at the top prize and Katsuki could not help smiling. It was an All Might plush. That was why Izuku looked so sad when he was looking at his wallet. Katsuki wanted to make him smile again. Lately, his feelings for Izuku had changed. He no longer saw him as the weak, annoying nerd who followed him everywhere. It was as if knowing his connection with All Might had brought them closer together. Gradually, Katsuki realized that he always sought his eyes, that his heart raced when he was near him, that he was happier when Izuku was around. He wondered if this was what it felt like when you were in love. He stood next to Izuku and loudly put the coins on the stall. Izuku jumped and he opened his eyes wide.
'Kacchan,' he said surprised.
Katsuki did not answer and took the rifle that the stallkeeper handed him. He shot with agility and ease, hitting every target. It was way too easy for him. He looked at Izuku out of the corner of his eye. He was looking at him with admiration.
'You are so strong Kacchan !'
Katsuki looked away and blushed. The stallkeeper picked up the All Might plush and gave it to him. Katsuki immediately handed it to Izuku.
'Here.'
'You don't have to Kacchan.'
'Do you want it or not ?'
Katsuki knew he had to be less aggressive, but it was his nature and Izuku had always accepted him for who he was. Izuku took the plush and a huge smile lit up his face.
'Thanks Kacchan, you're the best.'
Katsuki could not help smiling. If this sweet warmth he felt was because he was in love, he hoped the feeling would never end.
