1. AFTER BITE

Sun rays peaked through the window waking Caroline from her deep slumber. Confused she woke up stretching her arms.

'What the hell happened last night?', she whispered holding her head trying to recall the events that happened last night.

All she could remember was meeting a cute no scratch that a HOT older guy, a lot of kissing… and his eyes tuning bloodshot red with veins popping out…. And THE BITE. HE BIT HER! Her hand shot up her neck feeling the bite marks while looking at herself through the mirror in her room. She looked like a mess, with her hair all over the place and dried up blood on her neck and pillow remembering about the person next to her, she turned to look at the him laying to right side of her bed. He was still sleeping (or at least she thought he was) still looking VERY HOT. Not the time Caroline, she reminded herself.

'VAMPIRE', that all Caroline say.

Honestly, she was freaking out. For once in all her life she meets a boy first before Elena hypnotizing them with her Bambi eyes (but she was sure he would get hypnotized as well eventually). Just once and he HAD to be a VAMPIRE. Yes, she knowns vampires exists and no she wasn't told by anyone she found out on her own, well kind of. She first got suspicious when her mom started getting late night calls from the sheriff's office regularly. She would often hear the words like stake, vervain, the gilbert compass, blood sucking freaks but most important VAMPIRE being thrown around during those calls. Of Couse she had to google some of these words for their meaning. At first, she thought that her mom had gone crazy after her divorce with her dad and joint a cult or something, but than her suspicion increased when her dad started to leave with her mom when he used to visit and also the fact that he always had a bag full of hunting gadgets with him. And he was no hunter, he loves animals or at least she thinks he did. Truthfully Caroline doesn't know anymore. But she decided to ignore all this thinking her parents had finally gone mad...that and she had more important things to do, like becoming the cheer captain and leading a bunch of committees. But that was until she met an actual vampire and it was a life changing experience.

She was in London for vacation with her dad and his boyfriend. Now that she thinks about it...she was third wheeling so hard. One morning her dad handed her his credit card (a wrong decision) and said she can go shopping and buy anything she wants (again a very wrong decision) as he had "A JOB to take care of" and said that he would pick her up once he was done. As she was giving the phase shop till you drop a new meaning, she didn't realize that it was already late. Well in her defence her dad didn't come to pick her up yet and once she starts to shop, she can't stop. When she was waking, with a caramel latte and a bunch of shopping bags in her hands, she was all of a sudden pulled in a dark and empty ally with a hand covering her mouth preventing her from screaming for help. That day she thought that this was it, she was going to die. She was going to die before miss mystic falls, before getting her first boyfriend, before wearing the cute summer dress she just brought that made a look like an adult. A million thoughts were going through her head, that was until she saw her captor face. He was too good looking for a criminal, he had curled dirty blond hair and dark blue-green eyes that contrasts with his pearl-white skin. She was so mesmerised that she stops struggling in his arms. That was until his face changed in somewhat like a monster, with blood shot eyes and veins popping out under his eyes. As it looked like he was about to bite her, she starts rambling about random stuff like please don't kill me, I have not even had my first kiss unless you count the spin the bottle in 6th grade with Tyler, or get my first boyfriend. I have not even become miss mystic falls and prom queen yet, please let me go, I'm sure you will find someone more delicious to eat than me, please don't kill me please. She continues to ramble until she hears her captor laughing. He looked highly amused by her rambling and honestly, she is lowkey offended but doesn't say anything. He finally let her go untouched saying that he can't let such an interesting and entertaining creature die. It would be such a waste.

His voice had send a shiver down her spine. Not that was going to ever tell him that. The mystery guy then disappears in a blink of an eye leaving her behind confused with what just happened. When she was finally back from her vacation, she decided that enough is enough she just had to find out the truth and what the hell was going on in Mystic Falls. So she started to snoop around in her mom's room and found a journal which looked quite old and a lot of hunting gadgets and some sort of power which she thinks is the vervain that her mom was talking about on her phone. That was the day she found out that humans are not at the top of the food chain and that there is more than what meets the eye.

Now that she finds herself in a sticky situation with a vampire laying next to her, who most likely might kill her once he would wake, all she can think of is getting the hell out of there. She decides to poke his left shoulder to check if his asleep (she shouldn't have done that). Concluding that he was in deep slumber (he was not), she picks up her clothes that were scattered on the left side of the bed and walk out of her room slowing without making a single sound. Turns out she was not as silent as she thought she was, cause the next thing she knows is the dude is standing right in front of her.

"Great", she murmured.

A/n: So that's it for the first chapter. I recently have been reading bunch of daroline fanfics and got inspired to write my own. Though my OTP is Klaroline but I literally ship Caroline with anyone at this point. She just as chemistry with anyone character and I thought that Daroline would make a interesting couple. I might not update soon as I have online classes going on but I will try my best. Tell me how you guys like this chapter.
