(Vincent's Pov)
I was woken up by the sound of my alarm going off along with the sound of knocking on my door. I groaned a bit as I got up from the bed and I went to the to see Louis, Marlon and Brody standing at the door and I yawned a bit.
"Hey come one we have to leave soon." Marlon says and I nod.
"Yea, Yea just let me get Clementine up and ready, want to give me the address in case we don't leave on time?" I asked.
"Already sent it to your phone." Brody says and I nod at this as I close the door as they leave and I go and wake up Clementine, who was also tired. We got dressed and ready for the day and we headed out to the car to meet with the others.
"Alright let's head on out, don't worry this won't take too long." Louis says to Clementine and I look to him.
"How long does it usually take?" She asked me.
"Depends really, it could take a few hours but they know you and I have to go look for a home so we might be there for two hours minimum." I explained to her as we got into my car after getting the rest of my stuff out of the motel and I head to the front to pay off the nights I've been here and once that was all said and done, we all headed to the one studio area to get things ready. I helped them set the table and mics as well, while Brody and Ruby set the chairs in place, I had an extra seat next to mine so Clementine would have a place to sit. When all that was done, we all took a seat as people started to come in and I went to go grab us all some waters. When I gave everyone their drinks, I took a seat next to Clementine and I took a drink of my water just as everyone had sat down.
"Alright so here is how today is going to go, Vincent here is only staying for a limited time just to inform you all." Marlon tells the audience and I nod in agreement. Once the rules were all said and done, we began the questions. Our meet and greets were basically like your panels.
"Alright we can begin the questions." Louis says and I nod as they point to the first person.
"When will be the next time you all will be on tour?" Someone asked.
"We plan to go on tour when we get two more people in our group and we have been holding auditions just not at the moment since we are here currently." Ruby says.
"Will Vincent be back?" Someone asked.
"Sadly no, I won't be back I'm just here because I was asked too." I tell them.
"Why won't you come back since Minerva is gone?" The same person asked.
"Uh, due to my lack of motivation and wanting to see family along with wanting to go to new places I don't think it is wise for me at the moment to come back if I ever decided to." I explained as best as I could to them.
"What is the lack of motivation?" Someone asked.
"Uh, I just don't feel like writing or making music right now and I didn't want to disappoint you guys as our fans, and I do know this seems like I'm disappointing you all right now with me not trying to make new songs." I explained.
"When do you think you, all will be back on tour?" Someone asked.
"I would say sometime in the month while we try to make new songs and get some new members to join in on the band." Louis explained.
"Vincent, are you dating again?" Someone asked and I looked to them.
"Uh no I am not dating anyone at the moment." I tell them.
"So, who is the girl next to you?" The person asked.
"Uh." I tried to say as I looked to Clementine for some help with this question and she nods to me a bit and looked to the crowd.
"I'm Clementine, I'm Vincent's friend." She tells them and I nod at this.
"So, you two aren't in a relationship?" A girl asked.
"Uh no we aren't dating at all; we are just friends." I say to them.
"Why do you think Minerva would go and say all those things on the radio?" I hear and look to see it was a News reporter and I see Clementine's mom also here taking notes. I turn a bit red from embarrassment forgetting she worked for the WABE News.
"I do not know her mindset at the moment as to why she would do that, I only have theories and no I will not be discussing them at the time." I explained to them.
"Will you still be doing the interview with Minerva next week?" The News reporter asked.
"I do believe I will still be doing the interview at the WABE News station so long as it is professional and not like what had happened prior too with people only listening to the one side of the story, I would like for people to know both sides before they start having their opinions on me or Minerva on our Character." I explained. An hour had passed during this meet and greet and I drank some of my water as I looked to the side a bit then I was given another question.
"What is the situation with Minerva, she seems to be mad for being kicked out." Someone asked and I looked around a bit.
"She has no reason to be mad, we all have it written in our contracts that if there is any slander that isn't true or tries to hurt a band member or ex-band member they were to be terminated and lose any ownership to the band, though right now the situation is a bit complicated but we are trying to deal with it a civil as possible." I hear Mitch say to the group and I looked around a bit and took another drink from my water and I looked to Clementine who looked a bit nervous.
"Cane we ask Clementine any questions?" A girl asked and I looked to her then back to Clementine.
"Only if she feels comfortable to answer, if she declines to answer please respect her decision, she is not part of the band so be careful with your questions." I say and some of the people in the crowd nod at this and I looked to Clementine.
"How long have you been a fan of 'The Walking Dead'?" Someone asked.
"I uh, I've been a fan for about two years it's not a lot but I like their songs." She answered.
"How did you find out about them?" Another person asked.
"My friends actually dragged me to their concert, it was fun and again the music was great." She says and I saw her grip her pant legs a bit so I grabbed her hand but made sure it wasn't noticeable.
"I have a question for Vincent." A man said and as I was about to call on him, he was interrupted by another man.
"I just want to know, when you were on the phone with the News station was it true about Minerva once being pregnant?" A man asked and I looked to them.
"I would like to not answer that question currently, I should not have said that on the phone it was just a moment of anger and I would like for you to hear Minerva's side as well since I really didn't have the full story as to why she had done that." I explained.
"Well, are you pro-life?" The man asked.
"I would also like to not answer that at this moment that isn't a proper question to ask and we had already made that a rule, this is only to talk about the band not our opinions based off of other things, so please do not ask any more questions that do not pertain to the band itself."
"But you aren't part of the band anymore." He says.
"I still would like to not answer that question, thank you."
"Come on we just want to know more about you, I mean did you really take drugs?" The same man asked.
"Can someone remove him please." Brody asked as security came to the man.
"THIS IS BULLSHIT IT WAS JUST A QUESTION!" The man yells and I sighed a bit and looked at the time.
"Uh that is all the time I have left for question I must be heading out now it was great to see you all." I say as Clementine and I get up to leave and as we were about to leave the building, we see Clementine's mom.
"Well, that went very well in my opinion." She says and I nod.
"I can agree kind of." I say to her.
"Anyway, I was told I would be doing the interview with you and Minerva so I will try to keep the questions at bay, but they did want some people to call in as well to ask anything, you don't have to answer them of course." She says and I nod.
"Ok, I can deal with that I suppose." I tell her.
"Alright I will let you both go." She says as she heads back in and I take Clementine to the car.
"Are you alright?" Clementine asked and I nod.
"Yea of course, why wouldn't I be?" I asked as I started to drive.
"Well, I mean all those questions."
"That's all they were, were questions and I answered as best as I could with them." I tell her and I pull up to the diner.
"Let's just get something to eat before we stat looking for a home." I say and Clementine nods in agreement. We both go inside and get to our seats but this time we didn't get Bonnie, I guess today was her day off. We get our food and drinks and just sit in silence.
"So, what type of home are you looking for?" She asked as she showed me on her phone the different homes that were up on the market and I look through it a bit.
"Something small but not too small, nice backyard." I say as I look more and I see an old farm house for sale.
"Hey this looks good." I say as I show her the place.
"That's near Hershel's farm, I think we can ask him about it." She says and I nod as we finished our meal and we both head over to this man named Hershel. Once there, Clementine got out the car as an old man got out of his home and I got out my car and walked next to her.
"Well, Howdy Clementine how have you been?" He asked.
"Been good sir, and you?" She asked.
"Fine as can be…. And who is this?" He asked as he looked to me and Clementine came over and grabbed my hand and pulled me up to meet the man.
"This is Vincent, he's, my friend." She tells him and I nod as I hold my hand out to him.
"Nice to meet you sir." I say and he shakes my hand and we let go after a few shakes.
"Nice to meet you as well boy, so what brings you two out here? Does you dad need more corn or tomatoes?" He asked Clementine.
"No but he might need some after this month not to sure yet." She says and I look at him.
"Uh we were wondering about the house for sale near here and if you knew anything about it?" I asked and he looked to me.
"Oh, the old John farm, yea I know about it, you looking to buy it?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yea I mean I'm interested in it." I say to him and he nods.
"Nothing much to know, it's an old farm, not much but a few chickens there, they use to sell eggs and some wheat too, but the crops haven't been taking for a few years." He explained.
"That's fine, I was probably only going to make a small garden." I say.
"Got a green thumb?" He asked.
"My grandma had a small garden and she taught me what she knows but I am not an expert on the chickens though." I say.
"Don't worry I can help with that if you do end up living there, plus Clementine helped with mine so she might be able to help you out." He says and I nod.
"I'll take you up there, Johns kids are up there right now actually." He says and we nod as he walks us over to the house, it took a bit for us to get there but it wasn't to far long from Hershel's home. Once there we saw two girls walk out the house.
"Afternoon Mr. Hershel, how are you?" The one lady asked.
"Doing just fine Daisy, oh we might have someone that wants to buy your dads old home and land." He says to her and she looked to me.
"Hello, I'm Daisy and this is my sister Patty." She says and I shake both their hands.
"Hello, I'm Vincent." I introduced myself.
"So, you want to buy our pa's home hu?" Patty asked.
"I'm looking, seems like a nice home in all honesty." I admitted.
"Well, he knew how to take care of his farm, anyway we can give you the tour if you'd like." Daisy says and I nod as we all go through the house. It was really nice on the inside, Nice hardwood floors, big living room, nice sized kitchen, it had an upstairs too with two bedrooms and so on.
"Do you like it?" I hear Clementine ask as I looked in one of the closets in the master bedroom and I look to her and nod.
"Yea I really do." I say and we both head down the stairs as Hershel and the girls were talking.
"So, how's it look?" Patty asked.
"I really love it." I tell them. We then went over the paperwork and after a while they said they would send me the copies of this in the mail and they handed me the key to the home and I looked to Clementine and smiled. Once that was all settled, we all left the house and the two girls left.
"Well, I hope you have fun here, glad you were able to get the home." Hershel says and I nod.
"Thanks, I'm a bit surprised I did." I say and he nods then leaves and I look to Clementine and smile.
"Well… Looks like I have a home now." I say and she smiled at me and nods. Once that was done we went to go and get my car and I drove it up to my new home and I looked up where to get some furniture and other supplies for the new home, along with getting some chicken feed of course.
"Did you think you'd be taking care of chickens?" I hear Clementine joke as I looked up from my phone.
"No not really, I always wanted a pet though." I tell her.
"Right wasn't it something exotic?" She asked as she sat next to me.
"Well… it was a chinchilla, they're so fluffy, but I did a lot of research on them on what they have to eat and proper care for them… only thing is I would not have given them a good name." I tell her and she laughed a bit.
"What were you going to name them?" She asked and I look at her.
"Toes." I say and we looked to each other and laughed at this. When we finally settled down, I looked back to my phone and had set everything to be shipped to the address and I lean back on the porch and I sighed a bit and closed my eyes.
"You doing, ok?" She asked and I open one eye and look at her.
"Yea this is just new to me… didn't think I would have a house till I was retired and all that junk you know?" I asked her.
"I hear you on that." She says and I watch her lean back a bit and I get to thinking.
"Would you…. Would you like to live here… with me?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"I mean I don't want to be all alone and stuff and well we are friends so it wouldn't be bad." I tried to say to her and she looked to me.
"I will have to think on that, I think AJ would miss annoying me a lot." She says and I nod at this.
"Yea of course understandable." I say and we looked to the field a bit and I rubbed my neck.
"Anyway, we can go and get some simple things for the house anyway if that's ok with you, I mean unless you have something else to do." I muttered the last part and rubbed my neck a bit.
"I said I would spend the day with you silly, besides I didn't think you'd fall in love with this place." She says and I chuckled as we both got up and headed to my car. I drove us to the store and I grabbed a cart and we just started to look around a bit for anything I would need. We then run into Sarah, Gabe, Duck, Mariana, and Becca.
"Hey you two." Duck says as he comes over and Clementine sets down the tiny fork, she was showing me.
"Oh, hey guys." She waves to them as they come over.
"Needing new utensils?" Gabe asked.
"Yea, got a home now so I need some simple things for now." I tell them.
"Holy shit you got a home already?" Duck says and I nod.
"Yea the farm next to Hershel's, Vincent here is going to be taking care of some chickens." Clementine jokes as she pats my back and I pat her head.
"This is so cool though." Sarah says and I nod at this.
"So, hey uh… you guys want to come over? I mean it doesn't have to be today I mean." I tried to say.
"Dude we can help you move in if you need us to, I have my dad's truck for the day." Duck says and I look to Clementine and we both nod as we look around the store. I went down to the bath section of the store and grabbed some towels and other things then I look to Clementine.
"Hey uh, we can get you some things too so when you stay over." I suggested to her.
"Ok, we can do that if you want." She says and I nod as we grabbed her some things. After we were done with shopping, we set my things in my car and I stretched a bit as I closed the trunk and looked to the others.
"Alright, we can drop these off at my place and get everything settled." I say and we all got in the vehicles and we drove to my home. Once there we got everything set in the right spot and Clementine had made us all something to drink and we sat on the couch that the old owners had decided to let us keep. I sat down and looked around the home a bit.
"Thanks." I say as Clementine hands me the drink and we all just relax a bit.
"So, what will you do now?" Gabe asked and I look to him.
"Explain?" I asked.
"Well, you kind of need a job I mean not to be mean but did you save enough when you were in the band?" He asked and I think.
"Hmm, yea I did save enough to just get by and to get a home in Texas if I wanted to live there, which was part of my original plan." I say and think.
"If you still want to work with music then I think Chuck can help with that, he owns the old music store in Macon and another one in Atlanta." Duck says and I nod.
"If you don't want to work with music anymore what would work in?" Sarah asked an I look at her and I take a drink and set the glass on the table in front of me.
"I know how to fix up old Motorcycles, hell I'm great with woodwork too, my grandpa would show me how to whittle when I was younger and it just stuck with me." I say as I remember my grandpa teaching me how to make something from a simple stick.
"Well, I didn't know this." Clementine says and I nod.
"My Grandpa taught me a lot of things, but anyway what should we do now?" I asked.
"If you want, we can go get my dads old grill that he doesn't use anymore and we could have a cookout for a house party." Duck says and I nod.
"Alright, good thing we got a lot of food when we did." I say and we all got things ready. Duck and the others went to go and get the grill and some other things and Clementine and I got the back porch ready and I looked to the field a bit then to Clementine. I rubbed my neck a bit as she looked to me and I smiled and we both got things cleared off. Once that was done, we headed back in and I saw my old guitar case sitting by the side of the couch and I went to grab it. I set it on the couch and opened it up then looked at the guitar a bit and strummed a random string and I chuckled.
"You, ok?" I hear and look to Clementine as I shut the case and I nod.
"Yea I think I'm ok… just got to put this away and I'll be back down." I tell her and she nods as I head up the stairs and to the master bedroom. I set the guitar case in the closet and I think a bit before I finally closed the door and headed back down. I saw Gabe and the others come back and I help duck bring the grill to the back of the house and we set it up a bit.
"You sure your dad doesn't mind me using this?" I asked as I grabbed the charcoal and I saw some redwood chips we could use too.
"He said you can have it; he's got a fancy one now with a smoker so he's happy that this isn't taking to much space." He says and I nod.
"It's a pretty decent size grill, especially for a charcoal one in my opinion." I say as we start it up.
"Yea my dad got it mostly for big parties so good thing he still had it." Duck joked and I laughed a bit as we got things ready for the grill. I went inside and duck and I would season the meat and I saw Clementine helping Sarah make homemade hamburgers. Once we had things ready, I went out to the grill and I saw that it was good enough to put some of the food on so I did and we all just sat out and talked a bit.
"I was thinking about maybe getting a pool out there, not to big and not an underground one either." I tell them as I watched the grill a bit.
"Doesn't seem like a bad idea, hell if you have kids over too." Duck says and I nod as I take a seat next to Clementine.
"I think AJ would want to come over all the time, pool, Chickens, hanging out with Vincent." Clementine says and we all laughed at this and I looked to the field a bit as I think. After a while the food was done and I grabbed us all come plates as we just sat and relaxed a bit and ate. Once everyone was done eating, I grabbed the plates and we all headed inside as the sun went down. I washed the dishes as the others left and waved good-bye to us and Clementine came up and grabbed the dishes to dry and I watched her a bit.
"What?" She asked and I shrugged.
"Nothing, just thinking…. About things." I say.
"Anything important?" She asked and I shook my head.
"I don't think so… I guess today just got me you know, with those types of questions." I say as I hand her another dish and she dries it.
"What are you use to them asking?" She asked and I think.
"When are you getting married, who is dating who in the band, when is the next show, oh I remember a girl asking if she could have my children, it was pretty funny." I explained and she looked to me and I laughed.
"They, said that…. With Minerva around?" She asked and I smiled.
"This was before she and I were dating… I think." I say and thought for a bit and I nod.
"Yea before we were even dating, though I was kind of wondering about that offer." I joked and Clem hits me playfully with the towel and I laughed a bit.
"Well, I guess anyone would be." She says and I look at her.
"So, I have a question."
"I may have an answer." She says and I smiled as I handed her the last plate and I started to work on the utensils.
"You know of me and my band but you don't know a lot…. I mean… I don't want to come off as rude and stuff but… did you not like us?" I asked.
"Oh, at the beginning no, Sarah, Mariana and Becca brought me to one of your concerts after I told them no repeatedly." She tells me and I handed her the forks.
"But after some time, I listened to your guy's music and I started to like the band a bit, I even went to Virginia to see you guys preform last year… I think I mostly like the fact that you guys don't just stay with one type of music, you all have your own style, especially you, you sometimes switch it up." She explained and I look to her.
"I do? Hu, honestly I didn't think about it much but yea I guess I do." I say as we finished up on the dishes and set them up where they belong.
"You know, I even got to hear one of our songs this was before your voice got deeper, Sarah had found it online and I just really liked it." She says and I turned red and I covered my face.
"Let me guess it was a cover for 'I was an island' wasn't it?" I asked and she laughed as I looked up she nodded.
"Yep, that exact one." She says and I groaned.
"My voice was cracking at that point." I muttered.
"Hey I still liked it." She tells me and I look at her.
"Thanks… I just wish Louis didn't post it online though, but I can't blame him… you know that was one of the reasons we got the record deals, but once they found out I wasn't all as high pitched as I use to be they were starting to question it, so we left and Ruby became our manager, along with Brody until she started to sing too." I explained.
"Well, they lost a good deal in my opinion, I'm just glad you guys don't get pushed around like most people when it comes to music." She says and I nod.
"Yea, you have Marlon and Louis to really thank for that, but once we got Ruby working with us, the record deals wouldn't touch us since they were afraid of her, I mean I knew her to be a Tasmanian devil when we went to school together but damn, she still is scary when you push the right buttons." I explained and laughed a bit at this. We sat in silence for a bit and I looked to my hands then to the TV and some of the movies I had bought and I look at Clementine.
"Want to watch a movie?" I asked.
"Sure, want me to get some popcorn?" She asked and I nod as we both get up, she gets the popcorn ready as I look for a good movie to watch.
"Hey is a zombie one fine?" I asked her.
"Sure, any specific one?" She asked as she came in the living room with the popcorn and I think.
"Return of the living dead." I say as I put the disc in the DVD player and I went to the couch and sat next to her.
"You like Zombie movies?" She asked.
"Where do you think the band name came from?" I asked and she looked to me.
"Ok you got me there." She says and we looked to the TV as the movie started. It was about thirty or so minutes into the movie before Clementine had passed out and I just sat up to watch the movie. I would look to her a bit then to the screen as I finally relaxed a bit. My eyes grew heavy and I finally fell asleep.
