Chapter 5

Lizardmen Heroes

Warning! I DO NOT OWN NARUTO NOR OVERLORD!

KSt0ne: Q: So somehow Naruto banished Madara to another dimension, when and how did it happen. What goal did Madara have in Momonga's world, from my understanding his most motivation was protect his precious people after his precious people died he become insane and tried to save the world by making a perfect world.

A: I'll try to explain it in the next chapter as flashbacks. (Many of you ask this question) Regarding his goal on Earth, he was mainly trying to conquer the world using economics to take over the economy of countries, namely Japan. When he was placed in the New World, his goal is still world domination like Momonga but for other reasons, namely amusement.

Also, there was a random guest who said inappropriate comments and while I normally don't remove hateful reviews, the guest had said profanities which are above the rating of the book. -The Great Lake-

-Nazarick's Outpost-

"12 scrolls with the spell {Message} engraved on them, courtesy of Lord Demiurge," Entoma, the insect-user Pelidias, said as she handed Cocytus, floor guardian of the fifth floor, scrolls. "Madara-sama as also authorized six hundred tower guard undead to be added to your subjugation force."

Cocytus nodded in appreciation. "TELL MADARA-SAMA I GIVE HIM MY ABSOLUTE APPRECIATION," he said. Under his icy breath, he muttered, "DEMIURGE HAS OUTSHINED ME ONCE AGAIN." Ironic considering his exoskeleton naturally outshined Demiurge's normal features, although the devil always like shiny things, especially bones.

The room was filled with light chuckles from his minions.

Well, that was to be expected, as he was made with the sole purpose of fighting and defending Nazarick, while Demiurge had many uses from fighting to interrogation. Now that Cocytus had a better understanding of the Supreme Being, Madara-sama - whom he had taken calling "sensei" for the duration of his strategy training - he could safely say that the man and Demiurge were similar in many ways more than one. MAYBE THAT'S WHY MADARA-SAMA SPOKE OF ULBERT-SAMA WITH A DEVILISH SMIRK.

Cocytus grabbed a scroll. "{MESSAGE} NAZARICK SUBJUGATION FORCE: BEGIN ADVANCEMENT IN FORMATION 3." He took note that Entoma sat beside him, observing.

He released an icy breath.

-The Great Lake-

-Lizardmen Village of Razor Tail-

Zaryusu Sasha was, for the lack of a better word, cunning and wise. His experience adventuring throughout the world gave him such wisdom. He gained knowledge of human tactics, advanced weaponry, and advanced magic of magicians different from the ones used by his kin.

When he returned back to his village after his expedition, he shared his knowledge of advanced technology and practices. Take the fish farm as an example, he learned how to make one from tad bits of information in his travels.

He had met a few monsters in his travel, mostly basic undead and stray goblins. Though he fought undead, he never fought this many on this scale. There was literally hundreds, if not thousands, of the nearly rowed undead, in a fashion that would normally take any normal army months or years to accomplish.

Of course, some people say that mindless puppets are more organized than alive sentient beings with their own desire, mainly due to total lack of desire and need for formal training.

It was five thousand against one thousand and three hundred, more than three undead per one lizardmen. While worrying, they will just have to make up with skill.

"May the ancestors guide us!" his fated one shouted, Crusch Lulu, an albino lizardwoman that made her beautiful in his eyes. What can he say? He was into narrow-tailed lizardwoman and her unique scales made her more enticing. "Look! The ancestors are giving our blessings!"

The lizardmen looked to the sky, many gaping at what they saw: light that was in a distinct form of lizardmen appeared above them like angels. This wasn't magic nor were they real, rather it was from the drink the drank previously.

When the effect wore off, many were inspired and morale was higher than ever.

"Now we'll pass around the paint. Normally each tribe would have their own color, but the ancestral spirits of the five tribes are in all of you. Decorate yourselves with all the colors!"

Priests with pots carrying paint entered the crowd and began distributing paint amongst them. Many nearly covering themselves in the paint. Though the people of the Greenclaw tribe barely put some on as their idols/leaders had barely put on some themselves.

Shasuryua, Zaryusu's brother, drew his huge sword once found that most people were finished and shouted, "To war!"

Roars thundered.

The undead army was arranged in 3 groups, each containing one thousand and five hundred fifty troops. In rows of three hundred, giving the army 6 rows in total. Each first and second row of each was the vanguard with the tower guards that Madara had provided with.

Archers, only one hundred and fifty in total, were divided into 3 groups of forty, although the center formation had twenty extra.

The undead army was in a tight testudo that would've made any good Roman commander proud. And although Cocytus wasn't Roman, he took pride in the borrowed tactics, as shameful as it was.

If the undead army were the Roman legions that took Europe by storm, then the lizardmen were the proud warriors of England, the last place on Europe that the Romans didn't fully conquer. Charging recklessly, they divided into 3 groups: the warriors took the middle, the hunters took the left, and the females and other males took the right. There was little formation.

In another reality, Cocytus was inexperienced in commanding and didn't let loose arrows to dwindle the Lizardmen. In this reality, he let loose the barrage as soon they came into range.

Dozens of unsuspecting Lizardmen died in the first barrage, those who survived were either lucky, got hit in non-vital areas, or had a shield and used them.

Then they clashed, shield against clubs, swords against scales, it seemed that the Lizardmen organized the timing right and simultaneously clashed at the same time.

Cocytus grabbed a {Message} scroll. "{MESSAGE} CALVARY: FLANK FROM THE GAPS BETWEEN THE ARMY AND THE VILLAGE." Once the message was sent, the cavalry of the undead, who got in the position hidden on the edges of the clearing where the village was located, moved and charged.

The lizardmen were by no means stupid. While the organization was obviously absent in their tactics, they can predict. Therefore, they predicted that the undead had calvary lying and waiting.

As such, they put baskets in the marsh. Many undead calvaries fell for this and the riders were thrown off. But being an undead and not having any individual intelligence whatsoever, they were undeterred and just got up and proceeded to continue to flank the lizardmen. But they were finished off by the hail of stones from the lizardmen.

A little away, in the village, the five lizardmen that were apart of the elite squad, watched the battle from afar. "They're commander... is good," Zaryusu said in disbelief as the enemy slowly dwindled down the lines. This was not good, the undead was too organized and used their superior tactics and numbers to overwhelm them.

The leader of the tribe Razor Tail, Kyuku Zuzu, wielder of one of the four treasures: White Bone Armor, replied, "Understatement." The enemy commander was good, too good, a military genius using the lack of desire and organization of troops against them. At this rate, they were going to lose.

Crusch motioned the priests to activate their spells and mud elementals rose up from the ground and swallowed up the undead, breaking their ranks.

Cocytus observed as his troops' ranks broke and holes appeared within the formation. "VERY WELL," he muttered as he grabbed three {Message} scrolls, "{MESSAGE} UNDEAD HOUNDS: HOLD THE LIZARD MEN OFF THE SKELETONS. {MESSAGE} SKELETONS AND ZOMBIES: FILL THE HOLES WITHIN FORMATION. {MESSAGE} IGUVA: DESTROY THE ELEMENTALS."

He released an icy breathe as he realized he only had 3 {Message} scrolls left.

Zaryuru didn't know who the commander was but based on the display before him, the commander was way too good. Not even the elementals, who broke holes within the formation, were doing much, only taking on average four at a time. This isn't good.

If he were to estimate, he would say only about 1,100 Lizardmen remained of the 1,300 Lizardmen that was at the start. While the army of death was about 3,600 remaining.

It was a large difference. While they were only able to take out 300, but 200 of their men were dead as well. And they were outnumbered at the beginning. The situation was grim.

"We shall go!" Zenberu Gugu, leader of the Dragon Tooth tribe, roared.

"Patience..." Kyuku replied wisely but even his voice was strained and downtrodden.

Then the elementals went up in flames and fires broke out, killing dozens of Lizardmen, clearing the path for the approaching undead. "Regroup and defend the walls!"

"There is out queue," Sukyu Juju, leader of the Small Fang tribe, said, his gaze moving to the undead responsible. An elder lich garbed in the clothing of a rich dark magician.

"There is no way to get to him," Zaryusu growled. The undead army was practically the undead's fortress wall. "We must join the fight either way."

Cocytus will forever be in debt to Madara, as the tactics he was taught from the man worked smoothly, almost too smoothly. It was the matter of time now before they won. He turned to Entoma, seeing if there was any reaction from the maid but to get none. Of course, he wouldn't get one, or rather see one, as the face she wore was fake.

While the room was silent, and perhaps it would continue to be even after their victory, the battle, projected on the table using a combination of cash-shop items and familiars, was turning one-sided in favor of their side. The lizardmen's morale was still high, despite taking heavy casualties.

By now, the skeleton tower-guards were depleted and in their place was the regular skeletons and zombies. A third of their fighting force was gone but it wasn't a major loss as they were disposable and they took down over half of the enemy. Casualties for the undead were at 254 and only slightly increasing as the Lizardmen regrouped at their entrance. The lizardmen's numbers were at 930 and the number had grown stagnant as they retreated.

Arrow barrage. 910.

Reinforcements? 915. Morale seemed to have increased, probably due to them being an elite force of some kind, probably containing the chiefs. A deformed hydra, with four-heads instead of eight, seemed to also form into their ranks as well. 911.

HM... SHOULD I STORM THEM? By now all his tactics besides attacking en masse was used and the pieces needed is already depleted. He grabbed a scroll, "{MESSAGE} IGUVA: CAST THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE SPELL YOUR ABILITY ALLOWS UPON THE LIZARDMEN."

Once the elder lich received the order, he went to the front and pointed his finger at the remaining lizardmen. "In the name of the Supreme Beings, begone! {Grand Fireball}" he said and a fireball three times the size of a normal {Fireball} formed on the tip of his finger before it was launched towards them.

Zaryusu's eyes narrowed, his vision honing in on the {Grand Fireball}. This must be the commander or a champion. He thought, grimacing. "Stand back! {Icey Burst}" he called, using the ability of the weapon in his hands that made it a treasure. A wall of pure ice appeared before him and blocked the fireball from hitting them.

Cocytus released an icy breath in annoyance as he eyed the sword responsible for the current delay in his campaign. "{MESSAGE} UNDEAD ARMY: ATTACK." It was all or nothing. I still need to learn more tactics it seems. He idly thought as he scanned the battle.

The magic seemed to take a chunk out of Iguva's mana supply as he retreated back behind the undead lines to recuperate his mana. While he didn't have any mana potions, he was an undead, as such he tried to feed on the limited amounts of negative energy left behind by the Lizardmen.

Seeing this, Zaryusu's eyes narrowed. So he was hoping to wipe us out in one shot? This was their chance of turning the tides. He heard his brother and Zenberu yell a war cry, many of the lizardmen and women joining in as they tried to pierce the heavens with their cry of bravery and strength.

"For the ancestors!"

While it was simple, the words itself had power, power like a war drum or a trumpet. If they couldn't win with numbers, then they will win with skills and pure stubbornness. Thus they charge.

In response, an arrow barrage was unleashed and thousands of undead charged in a conundrum. While the undead before had a tight formation, now they had a loose formation similar to the lizardmen, having only regular low-leveled undead and beasts. Speaking of the beasts, they wrecked havoc and were the spear of the undead army as they pushed and killed many lizardmen and women before being killed themselves.

397 Lizardmen remained; 2,008 undead remained.

The chiefs tried to slaughter their way to the "commander" in an attempt to get rid of the leadership but the sheer number of undead blocking their path became a huge problem. Of course, they had a plan, Zaryusu's pet hydra, Rororo, was going to be it.

Iguva eyes narrowed in disgust as the deformed hydra tried to make its way towards him. "A deformed Hydra? They are as weak as I thought," he scoffed. Pointing his finger at the four-headed hydra, he chanted, "{Fireball}!" A ball of fire formed and shot towards the rampaging beast, hitting it dead on and blowing away nearby undead.

Tch. The hydra made a hole within the horde. Iguva scoffed as he floated back to the frontlines. "I am Iguva! A loyal follower of the Supreme Beings! I now sente-!" he was cut off when he noticed the rumbling of the ground. "I-Impossible!"

The Hydra didn't die, rather it survived and tanked the spell.

Seeing this, Iguva's eyes narrowed in rage. "Die!" he bellowed as he formed a {Fireball} and shot it towards the hydra, doing very little to impede its progress. Ten low-tier undead tried to stop it but were dismissed when the hydra crushed them under its heel. The undead archers not paying any mind to the hydra.

Growing frustrated, Iguva shot many {Fireball} spells one after another. Maybe its immune to fire? He absently thought. "Very well. {Lightning}!" he chanted, lighting forming from his fingertip but before it could hit the hydra, a big Lizardman jumped in the way.

"{Resistance Massive!}" he called. Zaryusu and Crusch jumping off Rororo as well before moving towards the elder lich.

"Insolent lizards!" he growled as he fired fireballs at them. Keeping them distracted, the elder lich calculated his next move. "{Create 4th tier undead}" he chanted as four circles formed in a square formation.

Seeing this, the massive armed Lizardman, Zenberu, shouted, "I shall take care of them!" He then proceeded to rush towards the four skeletons that appeared from the circles, using his fists and monk class to combat them.

That left Crusch and Zaryusu to combat Iguva.

The battle itself was a losing endeavor for the lizardmen, even with the chiefs on their side and the sudden disorganization of the enemy, they were outnumbered and injured. Morale was also starting to plummet as more casualties piled up, adding even more casualties.

The undead, meanwhile, were relentless, as they didn't need morale to fight effectively, they were unfazed the slightest and continued to push.

It was 196 Lizardmen against 1,975 undead.

There were no tactics used anymore as they just clashed and clashed over and over. Clubs and crude weapons against bone. More refined iron weapons against scales.

Some Lizardmen tried to go through the hole Rororo created but were killed when the undead immediately closed the gap.

Another arrow barrage. 175 Lizardmen remaining; 1,924 undead remaining

"{Fireball}" Iguva growled out as he backed away from Zaryusu.

Zaryuru's eyes narrowed. An area-of-effect spell at this range? His eyes trailed to Crusch and Zenberu, who were moving towards him. He stabbed his Frost Pain to the ground and shouted, "{Icey Burst!}" A blizzard suddenly appeared around them, freezing the fire of the {Fireball}.

Now! "Rahhhh!" Zaryuru let out a war cry as he jumped and stabbed Iguva through the skull. The world then became blank from exhaustion. The last thing he heard was Crusch screaming his name.

Cocytus commended the bravery of the lizardmen, they fought like true warriors until the very end but the outcome has already been decided. Only minor resistance in the form of the elite squad and a handful of lesser lizardmen was all that stood between him and the total subjugation of the lizardmen. Their resistance was futile.

While Iguva's loss was going to be delaying the success of the campaign, he was replaceable. If he remembered correctly, Nazarick had around a hundred of Elder Lichs employed in their service as regular monsters who respawn daily. Iguva was a simple pawn in Ainz Ooal Gown's and Madara's game of world conquest.

Crusch Lulu looked at her beloved with worry. With their commander gone, surely the undead army would collapse like puppets with their strings cut right? Oh, how wrong they were.

A dozen low-leveled undead surrounded Rororo and poised to finish off the hydra. Crusch's eyes widened as they began stabbing the hydra to death. This is a... this has to be a nightmare. She thought with fear and shock.

Zenberu, in shock and in anger, put Zaryusu down softly before charging towards the undead, fires lit aflame in his eyes. "Rahhhh!" with a mighty warcry, he charged headfirst into the undead.

"Die!" he roared, knocking two skeletons into a pile of bones.

Seeing their comrades getting crushed, the remaining undead drew their focus on him and charged. Their bones creaked and rattled as they seemed to open their mouth as if to roar a warcry.

Crush, seeing that the undead was distracted, went to heal Rororo. "{Massive Heal Wounds}" she said, pointing her arm towards the hydra. The wounds on Zaryusu's hydra started to accelerate their healing and knitted the skin and the scales together. She started to pant heavily, the spell and the spells before starting to tax her as her mana fell below the 15% line.

She turned towards her beloved. Then refocused her attention at Zenberu, who was relatively unharmed saved for a bruise. I need to conserve my mana. She thought grimly.

She turned her attention to the battle. Her mood darkened and tears started to well up in her eyes. Lizardmen surrendered to the undead, those who resisted died. Among the people who recently surrendered, she vaguely spotted Kyuku, who was on his knees a little far away from her but was still visible.

"Gah!" Zenberu roared, causing Crusch to redirect her focus on him. Another dozen undead seemed to have joined the fray and they attacked in waves against the massive lizardman. By now, the lizardman monk was covered in wounds.

"{Massive Heal Wounds}" she called out, trying to blink the tears away. Zenberu released a sigh of pleasure before charging back. Meanwhile, Crusch fell on her knees in utter exhaustion. She sent a look at Zaryusu and smiled, reminiscing the limited interactions they had. I'm... sorry...

"Crus-! Damn it!"

Cocytus released an icy breath as he sent the last order. "{MESSAGE} NAZARICK SUBJUGATION ARMY: BEGIN TAKING PRISONERS IF THEY SURRENDER; IF THEY RESIST CUT THEM DOWN."

He then spared a glance at Entoma, who in return sent a look at him. "Shall I report your victory over the lizardmen?" she inquired.

In response, Cocytus clicked his mandibles in thought. "I SHALL REPORT TO AINZ-SAMA AND MADARA-SAMA MYSELF," Cocytus responded. "I MAY HAVE FINALLY PROVEN MY WORTH TO THEM, I ALSO HAVE TO GIVE MY APPRECIATION TO DEMIURGE AND MADARA-SAMA FOR TUTORING ME SUCCESSFULLY."

Entoma nodded in understanding. "Very well, I then shall entrust you the recording device Ainz-sama entrusted to me," she said, handing a device she subtly put on the table facing the battle.

"YOU HAVE MY APPRECIATION," Cocytus said. "IS THERE A SPECIFIED TIME IN WHICH I HAVE TO REPORT THIS? IF NOT, THEN I SHALL SEE THE BATTLEFIELD MYSELF."

Entoma shook her head. "Madara-sama did say that you have until tomorrow to complete your campaign."

Cocytus clicked his mandibles. "MAY I INQUIRE IF THERE ARE ANY {MESSAGE} SCROLLS LEFT?"

Entoma sent him a confused look before nodding. "I was going to use this if you had failed to report to Ainz-sama." She then pulled out a scroll from her sleaves.

Cocytus nodded before he grabbed the scroll and used it. "{MESSAGE} UNDEAD BEASTS: SEARCH ALL THE LIZARDMEN VILLAGES FOR ANY SURVIVORS, IF THERE'S ANY THEN ROUND THEM UP AND ESCORT THEM TO THE 2ND VILLAGE."

-Zaryusu's Hut-

Zaryusu cracked open his eyes, his back was incredibly stiff and uncomfortable. Did he taste iron? Then he felt a foreign weight on his chest and he looked down to see his beloved laying on him.

Noticing his movements, Crusch opened her eyes as well. "Zaryusu? Zaryusu! You're awake!" she shouted with joy.

"How long was I out?" he inquired.

"A day..." she said but she seemed downtrodden for some reason.

"Where are we?" he asked as he looked around and spotted the familiar appearance of his hut. "What happened?" he asked, changing his question.

Crusch's mood darkened, her eyes downcasted. "W-We... Lost." Those words seemed to stab both of them in the heart, well for Crusch, it just dug in deeper.

"We... Lost?" Zaryusu asked nervously, believing his ears were betraying them.

Crusch nodded hesitantly. "They moved everyone fighting in here because their true leader is going to visit the battlefield to transport the bodies..." she said in disgust. "Probably for testing."

Zaryusu's mood darkened as well. "Did my brother survive? Where's Zenberu, where's Rororo?" he asked in a monotone.

"Zenberu... Is in critical condition, your brother is... Dead," she replied her head downwards. "His body was also taken."

"How about Rororo?" Zaryusu asked, his tone dead as the undead that slew his brother.

Crusch visibly flinched before looking away. "I don't know, they had him locked up in a cage before putting him in the village of Razor Tail," she replied. "Out of the 1,300, only about 100 came back..."

100? Zaryusu gaped. "How many undead we... killed?"

"I don't know," she replied truthfully. "I only knew how much we lost based on the survivors."

Zaryusu went silent as Crusch brawled her eyes out.

"What happened after the survivors arrived here?" Zaryusu inquired silently.

"The undead allowed us to tend to the wounded. Besides the tension and the confinement, life is... Normal?" she said nervously. "There were several riots but the undead swooped in and disarmed then before going back to their posts..."

"What have the undead been up to?" he inquired.

"Well, today... They scheduled a meeting today between the chiefs and their leader," Crusch said. "I hope we can get their corpses back..." she murmured silently.

-The Great Tomb of Nazarick-

-Ninth Floor-

-Madara's Quarters-

Madara put a hand on his chin. "Interesting... You expanded on the basic tactics I taught you. While you need to come up with a more refined strategy, I honestly see that all the lessons I taught you were not in vain," he said. "Very well, I will give you, Cocytus, the role of governing the lizardmen."

"IT SHALL BE AN HONOR TO TAKE UP THIS ROLE," Cocytus bowed.

"Momomga will return soon, he will accompany you to the conference with the lizardmen," Madara stated. "That is all, you may return to oversee the cleanup operation of the lizardmen."

"I SHALL PREPARE A THRONE SUITABLE FOR AINZ-SAMA," Cocytus declared before leaving.

Once Cocytus had left, Madara sighed. "That name still unnerves me," he murmured.

-The Great Lake-

-Lizardman Village of Greenclaw-

-The Tribal Hut-

The tension was thick, the hut was silent as the only four figures waited. Even the rowdy lizardman, Zenberu, remained silent. The lizardmen that were inside the hut were the last chiefs, Zaryusu being declared as the temporary Greenclaw and Small Tooth chief, the latter of which was too busy with the burial ceremonies to have one of their own become the chief.

If someone were to try to cut the tension, they would find that it was thicker than it seems.

Then they heard a commotion outside, probably their leader. However, no one dared move.

The dark hut was illuminated by the sun as undead pushed the covers aside. A small girl in a maid outfit with her hair tied into two buns entered and courtesied. "If you would follow me," she said.

The four chiefs remained silent before they got onto their feet and followed the maid. The tension was even thicker now.

They were led to a rift, an ever-changing portal.

"Through here," the maid said, gesturing for them to enter.

The chiefs hesitated before Zaryusu entered first, followed by Crusch, Zenberu, and Kyuku. To them, it felt like they walked through water.

The master of death.

-The Great Tomb of Nazarick-

-Tenth Floor-

-Throne Room-

Ainz took a deep breath, while they agreed that Madara would deal with politics, they agreed that he would leave a more of an impression especially the stunt they were going to pull off.

"I an Ainz Ooal Gown, ruler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. There was once a time when all knew and feared my very name," he introduced before sending a quick glance at Demiurge, who was on his left.

"Kneel."

The effect was instantaneous, all four chiefs were forced to their knees, an audible crack heard. "Now, introduce yourselves."

Zaryusu was first to speak. "I-I'm Za-argh," his voice was strained as he tried to righten himself.

Taking notice, Ainz motioned Demiurge to lessen up.

"You may raise your heads," the devil said.

Once the command was issued, Zaryusu continued his introduction. "I-I am Zaryusu Sasha, temporary chief of the Greenclaw and Small Fang tribe. I shall speak on the behalf of the other chiefs."

Ainz's gaze lazily went over the quad lizardmen. "Now let's negotiate the terms of your surrender."

"Y-Yes," Zaryusu stuttered in hesitation and fear.

Ainz motioned one of the Pelidias, CZ-Delta - the automation Pelidias - to give a scroll to the chiefs. "Written in the scroll is the terms of surrender, trust me, these terms are rather generous considering the person who wrote them," the skeleton stated. "Just sign it to make it official."

Zaryusu looked to the stoic maid with pink hair and emerald eyes, made her way towards them.

"You may stand," Demiurge commanded.

The lizardmen chiefs instantly felt the weight on their shoulders disappearing. Standing up, Zaryusu received the scroll before unraveling it.

The other chiefs stood by behind him but did not peer over his shoulder to give privacy and not to act rude in front of the leader of the army that destroyed them.

"This is..." the lizardman chief of Greenclaw breathed. He mutely handed it over to Crusch, who gave it to Kyuku, who gave it to Zenberu. All their reactions were on the same page.

Crusch, speaking for the first time, asked, "Why to give such generous terms?"

Ainz just sent a glance at the albino lizard-woman before speaking, "To lessen the burden; if we put more restrictions then that would make you all less productive and more rebellious."

Crusch nodded in understanding.

"Now, may you sign to document?" the overlord asked, no, commanded.

The chiefs all gave each other glances before nodding. Zaryusu, having known such things as using one in his travels, took the quill first and written his name in lizardman language. Kyuku, having observed and deduced that it was similar to the writing tools back at the village, followed suit. Crusch and then Zenberu following their example.

"It is done, now we shall leave you with a gift. Albedo," Ainz said, motioning the demon.

Zaryusu's eyes widened a bit when he took notice of the raven-haired beauty. Demon. He thought.

Demons were beings that were said to nearly destroy the world and were the basis of the Slane Theocracy's zeal against demi-humans. While beings such as elder lich, which Zaryusu thought Ainz was, were rare but existed, all demons - with the exception of demi-humans - were non-existent. So if a demon, whom he could guess is really powerful, was following a being that was not a demon king, then he couldn't fathom what power the being with no flesh could do if it were to attack them.

Simple: they would be utterly obliterated. That begs the question: "why did he not subjugate them himself?" Was he weakened? Only the gods knew, and he was pretty sure they were gods.

Albedo nodded before clapping her hands.

A large creak was heard and many noises that sounded like confused lizardmen was heard. All the chiefs turned to only gape at what they saw.

Lizardmen, many lizardmen, the numbers were comparable to how many they lost.

"Zaryusu!" a loud voice called out to the temporary chief.

"B-Brother...?!" he gasped, only to hear the noise of someone running towards them. It was 6 seconds before he could see his brother's face clearly, a testament to how big the throne room was.

There were quiet ushers as the mass of lizardmen were silenced at the revelations.

"This is my gift to the lizardmen, I, the ruler of death, have revived all of your fallen comrades!" Ainz Ooal Gown declared, forcing all eyes on him. "Now, may all of you enter the circle that was prepared for your transportation?"

Crusch's eyes widened. That's why he took all the corpses... He revived them all!

All the lizardmen's eyes widened in different arrange of emotions, from fear to anger, some even with reverence.

Zaryusu's eyes darted to the floor where he noticed a strange chalk circle with an elaborate design. It started to glow ominously as if it was powering on. Then they were a blinding light.

"You did well, Momomga-kun," Madara said coolly as he exited the shadows. "Your charisma has certainly improved, or did you practice the whole thing for an hour again?" A devilish tint in his eye, red eyes flashed with a humor.

Momomga faltered. "Y-Yes..."

Madara chuckled before going into a full-blown laugh. Momomga - poor Momomga - just slouched in defeat.

"Now, clean up this chalk," Madara commanded the maids who escorted the recently resurrected lizardmen, his voice higher than usual.

Chapter 5 End

Fortnite season 5 came out on the same day as Overlord season 3 episode 1! Coincidence? No! The anime and gaming gods have blessed us with new seasons for our favorite anime and game!

Anyways, I'm in need of a poof reader, PM me if you want to help me. Also, I don't understand how some writer spews out 10k chapters faster than you can kill people with a pickaxe in Fortnite.
