Wednesday came in, and Adley found herself early morning sitting on a couch in the Cullen family room. They were down to the final forty-eight hours. Alice's visions were getting clearer. Her visions changing regarding Adley's positioning in all of this. One moment she was broken necked on the forest floor. The next she was fine if not a little roughed up. The Cullen's eyes were bright from a recent feed. The guard as well was broken into groups feeding from the surrounding states. Over hunting in the area was probably not the best idea. They needed to be ready. Which is why they were even here.
The strategy for the upcoming fight.
"They are coming to the clearing. Alice's visions have solidified. They will break up their army into two groups. Here the within the woods rounding here, and another will attack a little further east." Jasper reported pointing to a very detailed map.
Adley didn't question where the Cullens had gotten such a thing. They had spent some time detailing the woods and what would be in it. They had to.
"The Original, where will it be?" Marcus questioned.
"Within the first pack." Alice replied placing a small figurine on the west side of the head on attack. "They will be using it upon the chain. That isn't the clearest, I see the beast loose at one point. Other times I see Alec's gift stabilizing it, even after a few minutes."
"We will need our heavy hitters there then. This beast will not be restrained for long. Alec's gift I do not wish to rely upon. Carlisle," Marcus looked over to the doctor.
"Blood bags are ready to be cut at scattered around the field." Carlisle spoke up before he could be questioned.
"Good."
"If that doesn't work?" Rosalie questioned. "Do we have a backup plan?"
An uncomfortable feeling settled amongst the group. Adley held her stomach building up her emotional wall. The idea of any failure meant anyone could be killed. The goal was to survive.
"It's hunting Bella, most likely they all are." Jasper commented, a snarl interrupting his train of thought.
"She will not be present for this." Edward sneered.
"What if she's nearby to draw her scent, but not have her in harm's way?" Demetri offered. "It is a risk but could give them a distraction."
"What of the numbers on the field?" Rosalie reminded.
Could they risk a human on the location? They would be cutting it close as it is. The wolves sure would be there. They were children though. Would they risk sending children to be hurt?
"Who will be protecting Bella?" Edward demanded, his aura steaming over with fear and anger. "I don't want her to be left without protection. The shifters are there…"
"Those shifters are children." Adley reminded. "Why not keep Bella and I close? If we the blood bags don't fully work, use us as bait. Lure them in. I can protect Bella if need be. You can have some shifters and vampires around if that makes you more comfortable."
"I will need to be within the groups." Marcus warned, his jaw was clenched as he sat up more. Adley shuddered at the onslaught of worry. "I do not want to be worrying about my mate without protection."
"Nor will I step away to ignore this fight. I may not be a vampire, but I am gifted in my own right. I would not want to take the strongest from the front lines. Edward will most likely not leave Bella's side. Plus, I was thinking Ibrahim. He's gifted enough to pop in and over protection. They won't notice him until it's too late. Give them a false sense of hope. A frail pair of humans. Two wolves they won't be expecting. Then vampires." Adley argued, not daring to break her staring match with Marcus.
"It could work." Jasper relented.
Alice held a hand up. The room watched as she fazed out momentarily.
"I'm not seeing anyone dying. While I can't see around the wolves that well, it doesn't give immediate death."
"Then its settled Bella and I will play bait, let's not let the other team catch the flags." Adley clapped her hands together.
She got a few confused looks. Marcus wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
The rest of the night spent discussing formations and who was best placed where. They wished to spare the shifters from direct contact in case of injury. It was agreed while they were powerful, they were still children. They had their strongest mixed in with the front lines. Jane and Alec were to be immediately there to help slow the groups.
Thursday rolled around slower than Adley wished it would. Her bottom lip was becoming raw the longer she sat tapping her foot waiting for the exam to finish. She'd been a ball of nerves as time ticked by. Sure, the exams were in the gym, and she really didn't need to be there to collect these ones since they were going to the state for anonymous marking. She didn't want to abandon the students before they were finished. It was the last year for her grade twelve students. She'd always found a familiar face before an exam gave her some peace of mind.
The exams though were the furthest thing from her mind. No, it was the fact in fourteen hours they'd be facing the newborns. She'd be headed out to the clearing where she and Bella were staying overnight. Charlie had been called down to Seattle for the final bits of the investigation. Adley had made it known to Marcus to keep Chief Swan far from the town. It kept him out of the way and gave Bella the freedom to do this. The man was far from stupid and the way she was acting, would give them away.
The last final was handed in. She checked it over scanning the scantron and work booklet. All answered. All filled in correctly. She had already sent two students back to refill in the bubbles correctly. She stapled it to the exam as the others and closed the box of exams. It'd be getting shipped off later in the week once all the grade twelve exams were completed. She now only had three next week to get through, clean her class room, then she was done.
She took the box and headed to the office. She set them down on the other exams from yesterday and today.
"That's one done for you now?" Mr. Greene asked rounding out of the kitchen.
"Yep, grade twelve. Next week I've got nine, ten, and eleven. Wednesday and then Friday." She stretched. "Then marking them."
"Yes, the real fun." He chuckled taking a sip of coffee. "We'll miss having you Ms. Choi after this. I hope your future endeavors are good to you."
"Thank you, Mr. Greene." She smiled going and grabbing her coat. "I'll see you next week."
She made it out to her Jeep, she was greeted by a nod of the head from Ibrahim. The guard had been unusually quiet the last two days. She didn't blame him when his nerves were just as wound up as she was. She flipped her vehicle into drive, and headed home. The drive through the main strip of town seemed to take forever. The usual five-minute drive dragged on.
They would be preparing to head up that evening to prep the camp site. She parked hopping out. Her stomach jittery as she was. She'd made sandwiches and some non-messy snacks for her and Bella when they went up. It would be early morning when they'd attack. Adley ran a hand through her hair as she looked around at the kitchen. It was just after two in the afternoon.
She sighed getting up and tossing a few things within the bags that they would need. She padded over to her bed room tossing her work blouse as she went. She wanted to change into something she didn't mind getting damaged. Who knew if she were to be killed? Alice wasn't certain.
A knock on the bedroom door echoed.
She turned standing in only a camisole and underwear. Marcus was standing in a three-piece charcoal suit. Draped over his arm was a large black cloak that nearly touched the floor. His hair was tied back away from his face in a low ponytail. She bit her bottom lip. She hadn't seen him dressed up in a little bit. Her birthday he was even tamed. His Volturi crest sat perfectly near his tie.
Her pendant she'd placed on the night stand, so she wasn't strangling herself while changing.
"Hi," she greeted walking over to him.
He opened his arms for her. She immediately squished herself up against his chest. Her eyes fluttering shut as she took a deep breath. His chest began to rumble. She relaxed further.
"I can feel your emotions from outside the home Little One." He whispered while holding her.
Adley didn't back up, but remained standing holding him. "I'm just a bit stressed. I can sense it with everyone. Yesterday it just got worse as the hours trickled by. I'm usually fine about stuff like this. I'm in no better position. My students are stressed because this is their future. You are restless because of these newborns as is the guard. I'm just wound up and it's getting to me. That's all."
He pulled back his finger catching her chin. His merlot gaze fixed on her. "Up on the bed."
She paused, brows scrunching together. "What?"
"Up on the bed." He repeated.
Adley hopped up on the bed turning to face him. Her legs dangling off the end. She watched Marcus glide across the room. He took his time to place the cloak down. He turned to her then. He undid his tie, moving at a human pace he folded it up on the cloak. He undid his vest next placing it down. He unbuttoned the top few buttons of his shirt, then rolling the sleeves.
She leant back as he stepped between her legs. Her breaths became quicker as she focused in on him.
"Easy, Little One." He murmured, capturing her chin holding her steady to press his lips to hers.
Heat exploded in her center. Her stomach fluttered as he deepened the kiss. She sighed letting him lead her, distract her.
"You require release." His raspy words had her blushing. "you're pent up from the tension. Would you like help with that?"
She nodded seeing his pupils dilate.
"Use your words. I wish to hear your consent."
"Yes sir." She stuck her tongue out.
"You're bratty when wanting." He chuckled pressing a kiss to her lips once more before backing up.
She whimpered following him.
"Stay."
She bit back the urge to roll her eyes. He flashed away momentarily, coming back with what looked to be black fabric? She raised a brow, as he brought it closer. It was silk from what she could tell. A blindfold.
"You are wound tight and frustrated by the days events. I believe there is a benefit if you were to focus upon the pleasure alone. Do you trust me?" He asked. "I will not do anything you do not wish for. A safe word perhaps?"
"Yes, I trust you. Peppers."
He came forward tying the blindfold to her eyes. Her vision blocked by the fabric. It was cool on her face. He was careful not to secure it too tightly. His hands ran down her arms, she shuddered.
His fingers traced her sides, teasing the underside of her breasts, down until he caught the hem. She inhaled sharply as his fingers brushed her hips.
"May I?"
"Please?"
She lifted her arms allowing him to undress her. She didn't need to be asked to shimmy out of her underwear. She kicked them off to the side, she'd deal with them later.
"Lay back."
She did as told scooting back. She held her hands above her head her breath increasing with her heart. She waited patiently for him. Her hair was spilt around her in waves.
"Absolutely beautiful," He complimented.
She gasped feeling fingers begin to tweak her left nipple. Her nipples hardened at the touch. Marcus teased her right with his tongue, swirling the peak. She panted, arching her back. Heat shot to her center building. She rubbed her legs together looking for some friction. Her core became wet.
Marcus switched his ministrations.
Adley groaned, his free hand traced circuits from her hip bone up her side. His fingers brushed her lower abdomen. He was teasing her. Distracting her with his tongue upon her chest, as his other hand feathered lower, each round he got lower and lower. He brushed her mound, running he gently cupped her. His finger finding the apex in her folds, he ghosted over her heating skin. She shivered.
"Marcus…" she whispered, cheeks red.
"patience."
"Tease."
"yet you're enjoying this." He hummed.
She sensed his satisfaction. Even with the blind fold over her eyes, she could feel the smugness he was getting from driving her nuts. He pressed a thumb to her clit, while dipping a finger into her.
"ah!"
"That's it Little one. Pay attention, only to my touch. My kisses. Let the pleasure build."
He caught her lips once more, running his tongue over her bottom lip. He guided her closer and closer to the edge. He rubbed his thumb in circles coaxing her, a second finger joined his first moving in and out.
Adley's moans were stifled by his kisses.
She began to buck forward as he led her higher and higher. The coil in her middle twisted tighter, and tighter. So close. He pulled back letting her breath.
"That's it little one, let yourself go."
"Marcus!" she gasped.
Pleasure rolled over her, she quivered, falling from the edge. Desire gushing forth.
"Good girl. Do you think you can go again, or do you require a moment?"
"Again,"
Marcus tossed her over the edge three more times. Adley was gasping grabbing at the sheets above her. She was panting, red faced and chested from each climax. Her body spasmed now and then from the over stimulation of her nerves. Marcus slipped the blind fold off. He was above her still dressed. She did not move her gaze from his. His pupils swallowed his iris whole, he watched her. She could see his aura filling with lust and need. Her body was wearing but she couldn't escape the need flowing between both. He was desperate for release and the burning in her lower half would not stop until he did.
He aligned the head of his cock up with her entrance. He pressed in finding a fast rhythm, his cock hit deep upon her cervix. She gasped at the unexpected pain. If she weren't so wet, it would be a lot worse. His thrusts were not gentle, but deep and fast.
The bruising speed though was exactly what she wanted. Her walls clenching, at him. She brought her arms around his shoulders holding tightly to him. His own grip on her legs were tight but she didn't mind as he adjusted her slightly to hit the right spot each time. He groaned his jaw clenching as his own pleasure flooded through him.
Adley's own orgasm was impending, she was holding on for dear life, as he stretched her on each thrust in. He pulled back so only his tip remained only to drive back in. Her eyes whelmed with tears as she cried out. Her walls spasming.
"That's it Little one, take your pleasure." he hissed biting down upon her neck.
She felt the coolness in herself of the seed as he climaxed. He thrusted a few more times holding to her. She panted as he collapsed upon her. She sighed feeling slightly better from the stress.
It was almost dark when Marcus set Adley on her feet in the clearing. A few flashlights were lit up with some lanterns to provide light for the few humans. Only she and Bella required them to see. The guard was already here and sparring each other to get some last-minute training in. The wolves stood around as well.
Adley leant up and kissed Marcus quickly. "Be safe."
"Always, you as well Little One." He pulled back.
"I'll be okay. Now go be Marcus Volturi, one of the Kings." She whispered.
"I never stopped being myself." His brows wrinkled together.
She didn't explain as she cracked a half grin. She could do so later… when they were back in their bed not needing to be somewhere. She'd already barely made it in time to the shower. Even there Marcus had claimed her once more. She wasn't the only one who was pent up from this. Her legs were a little sore and her neck still tingled from his teeth as he claimed her once more. She was aware she probably smelt of him.
"Never mind. I'll see you later once this battle is done." She winked before walking over to Bella.
Bella stood with a bandage over her hand. She knew they had used some of her blood to leave a scent around of her. She looked to Edward who sauntered up beside the teen and wrapped an arm around her protectively. The last to approach was a grey wolf. She didn't say anything. This wolf, wasn't Jacob was it? He had reddish fur last, she had remembered the teen.
"This is Seth Clearwater," Edward informed her.
"Harry Clearwater's kid?" Adley asked, the boy who had lost his father. The funeral of the man Charlie had been at a few months ago. She didn't realize the kid was a wolf.
"It's one of the recent changes, him and his sister." He added.
"Huh, aren't they all male?"
"Leah's existence does raise some questions. I'm not too sure." Edward replied.
She nodded and turned to look behind her. There Ibrahim stood with the two back packs and tent she'd supplied for the evening. They were good to head up and hide Bella away. Somewhere close, but not easily accessible. It was a game of hide and seek essentially. They wanted the newborns to come looking for her. Not to find her.
Bella was helped up onto Seth and the pair took off. Ibrahim followed a different pathway and led her up. The world blurred around her. Adley held onto his shirt for dear life. Ibrahim wasn't bigger by much and her logical mind told her he would drop her.
The fear was unfounded as they came to a stop. He set her down. Adley caught herself from the run, the head rush from full speed still in her. She shook her head but was unscathed. Bella and Seth came in a moment later. The teen hopped off the wolf, thanking him with a head rub.
Not more than three minutes passed, and Edward blurred into existence. A lantern in hand he set it down.
"We should set up for the night."
"Indeed," Adley clapped her hands together. "Shall we –"
Edward and Ibrahim blurred together tossing the bags and getting the tent set up in a matter of moments. Bella stumbled over to lean beside Adley. She was wrapped in a parka and blanket now. Adley rolled her eyes.
"Show offs."
Bella snickered, knowing it was best for the vampires to set it up anyways. "Sometimes it's nice to have vampires to do things for you."
"Agreed, I don't need to be sweating. Even though I don't smell usually. Who the hell knows if my body does produce enough scent though to bring vampires in. I went this long without terrible BO."
Bella paused. "What? How?"
"I'm Korean. Gene mutation." She explained. "Long story is we don't create the bacteria to cause body odor. Sure, we can smell like anyone else who does not bathe but not from sweat. It's an Asian thing."
"Well, the more you know." Bella muttered.
Adley shook her head at the teen. Ibrahim handed her a lantern. She took it to see the world around them. Bella was ringing her hands together. Adley sighed.
"Ibrahim, can I get a pair of the gloves I packed?"
She took them from the vampire who popped over. She handed them over. Bella took them. In the light of the lantern Bella's hand shone. Her brows raised. There a thin golden band with a long oval was settled, the cluster of diamonds in a golden setting stood out. Some bigger in the lines and then smaller ones on the edges. The piece was older she guessed by the fact it was imperfect in the settings. Even if that detail was small and almost unnoticeable.
"Damn, Bella..." Adley murmured motioning to her hand. "So, it's true? Edward proposed."
Bella's cheeks turned red as she nodded. "Yeah... over the weekend."
Adley looked over to Edward who was stood finishing up. The teen met her gaze. His mouth set in a firm line and his aura apprehensive. Good she mentally encouraged him to be hesitant of her.
"While I believe Bella is too young to get married. This is her choice. Treat her right, got it? I don't want to be the one to set fire to you." Adley warned.
"I don't plan on hurting her ever again." He responded.
"You had better not. I take promises like that seriously. I don't need to have to try and rescue the teen again. You've felt what I am capable of. I don't want to do that then set you on fire. Bella, are you sure on this?" Adley turned her attention to the girl.
"I am."
Adley hugged her. "Good. I'm glad. Congrats then, you two. When are you wanting to do the wedding?"
"I haven't actually thought that far... soon though." Bella answered.
"You're not pregnant, are you?"
Bella's nose scrunched up. "No! God no! I'm still a virgin."
"Seriously?" Adley questioned. "I don't mean to question morals here, but you are destined to be together. Bella's a modern teen and not ugly… so I'm surprised is all. You've chosen to wait until marriage?"
"I'm open to the idea of sex, always was. I don't see virginity as an actual concept. Edward however has reservations. He's a virgin too." Bella jerked a thumb at Edward.
Adley paused, eyes widening. "Edward when were you changed?"
"1918."
"You're a virgin? No lies, or I am only a virgin as a vampire." She asked.
"I am. Religion is still a large front to my life. Whether or not I have a soul, a damned one maybe. I do not wish to break this one rule if I still have a chance to heaven. It is still one of my values." He shrugged.
"I don't mean to place shame or anything Edward, but you are an immortal being and without a mate for so long… You never had sex?"
"My telepathy hindered that a lot too. Knowing what a partner is thinking, kind of seems like a violation." He admitted.
Adley could understand that part.
"I would then wait to have such couplings after Bella is changed then." Ibrahim suggested coming to stand with them. "Bella is still human, and Edward has little experience in controlling desire enough not to harm. It is quite common to wish to mark upon completing the mating bond. It is for the best probably."
"She is my singer as well." Edward added.
"Even more reason."
"Don't encourage him further for avoiding intimacy…" Bella grumbled.
"As much as your hormones wish you were sexually active Bella, please take the caution. Go slow if you do try, and do not push Edward if he cannot continue. It is for your safety Bella. Practice does make perfect but still." She advised nudging the teen.
"You have sex with your mate."
"I'm immortal already and my mate is also millennia old." She reminded. "So, tell me Edward about the ring. It's quite unique."
"It belonged to my mother," he explained. "I was an only child. It was left when she passed."
"My condolences on the loss, even if it was some time ago. Losing your mother is hard. How did it happen if you do not mind the question?"
"Spanish flu. H1N1 as it's known now." He answered. "My father died first. Then me, then my mother. My mother begged for Carlisle to change me. She knew what he was."
"A very aware woman. Explains your mental gift. The flu was a devastating part of the world at the time. Not to mention a world war. My great Gran on my Appa's side was your age. She passed last year."
"Your family isn't immortal?" He questioned.
"Nope. While the Empath thing is from my Oma's side, it isn't based in immortality. We're investigating that still."
"Are your siblings like you?"
"Anna is gifted, as is Oma. It is not as powerful as I am, but they are Empaths. My brother is not. It can happen in boys but not as often."
"Have they shown resistance to death like you?"
"No, they haven't."
They had spent a good portion of the night awake and answering random questions. Adley questioned Edward on the many adventures he had been on in time. He met Albert Einstein in his older years. She had been ecstatic to know what the man was like in life. Sure learning about someone was one thing, but a first hand account of such an amazing theorist was a whole other thing.
They were awoken at five am in the morning. The sun was just making it above the horizon. Adley redid her braids in her hair making sure they were tightly done. She completed Bella's as well. The girl was an emotional mess as the time guessed the newborns would come was coming.
"I'm not hungry." Bella huffed standing from the tent.
Adley rolled her eyes and handed her a granola bar. "You don't need to eat much then, but still try."
"Fine."
Adley ate her own food after relieving herself a bit away from the tent. Human needs were not something she wanted to deal with. All they could do as she ate the trail mix and dried fruit was wait. They would be there soon. Adley sat with Bella in the tent.
"I can't focus…" Bella whined burying her face in the blanket.
"It's going to be alright Bella." Adley tried to encourage her to remain.
The issue was Adley felt the same panic in herself. The few with them were also tense and waiting. Edward was sitting next to Bella. Ibrahim was outside the tent standing guard with the one wolf.
An half hour trickled by slowly. Her wrist watch ticked by. Adley sighed. The two were nestled in together speaking of memories. She decided to go and stretch her legs. She was gnawing on her bottom lip and she couldn't take much more of it. Her own mate was down leading the group to win this fight.
"Lady Adley," Ibrahim caught her shoulder.
"Ibrahim, is it safe to go for a small walk?" She questioned. "Those two are so pent up and wanting each other it's kind of sickening. I need to stretch my legs."
"You worry for your mate."
"Obviously. I'm a ball of nerves like everyone else. Empathy can suck at times." She grumbled.
"Come walk with me," Ibrahim motioned her to begin strolling along the over grown trail.
Adley headed east bound down the incline they had placed themselves on. The thicket of the forest was thick but didn't bother her. They continued to walk for a few minutes.
"Thanks, for letting me do this."
"Of course, why wouldn't I?"
"It's safer for me to be near Bella?" She thought.
"It is, but not when you're overwhelmed by them."
"Can you hear the battle?" Adley asked.
"I can."
"I can't feel them…"
"It's best you don't. They are most likely emotional, in pain and desperate." He shuddered. "Don't try either."
"Fine." She continued onwards.
They kept circling the perimeter of what they considered a safe distance from the tent. Adley was balancing on a fallen log, holding tight to Ibrahim's hand.
"ROOOAA—"
The snarl was silenced. Adley stiffened as she hopped down.
They were circling the area, right? Her eyes searched over the greenery surrounding them. She sent her feelers out to the source of the sounds.
Trees breaking, growls and more snarls. She pushed outwards trying to find the source of the noises. She took deep breaths trying her best to calm her heart.
"Adley we must move." Ibrahim hissed.
"Why?"
"The second group, has come closer."
She stopped and hopped up on Ibrahim's back. They were back in the small area near the tent. Seth was no longer in the area from what she could see. She scanned the small clearing and only came across Edward who stood on the edge with Bella.
Three new vampires stood arms out. She watched Ibrahim disappear. One the wild red hair of the vampire Adley recognized. Victoria. The insane bitch.
Next to her, back facing her was a tall lean boy. Messy blond hair was messed and all over. He was in a button down that had rips in it. Jeans that looked worn in. No shoes upon ice white feet.
The third vampire was a big hulking figure. He was bald with what was a slight tan she was sure in human life. He was a walking brick wall. She gulped.
Outnumbered.
Adley took a few breaths, her heart hammered. Her feelers too exposed. The tension. Fear. Anger. Lust. Murderous desire for revenge. Adley shuddered.
This wasn't good.
"When did the party start?" She asked making herself known.
The biggest vampire turned to her. Bright crimson eyes locked in on her, he was shirtless. An absolute wall. Adley mentally cursed.
She backed up a step. The thing didn't even get to close. Ibrahim popped into existence pulling its head off and tossing it. He dispatched the vampire in minutes and lit it up. The redhead didn't pay her any mind.
Her second in command did though.
"Victoria, why are there two humans and that other vampire?"
"That's its Riley, she's been lying to you. Why didn't she tell you of her?" Edward hedged. "of them?"
"He's just trying to get in your head, remember what I told you." Victoria's voice was high as she tried to lure him.
"You'll die today. Riley, she told you nothing of this world. Every kiss, touch, and word. It meant nothing to her."
Adley's brows furrowed as she looked between the four. His Aura was bright white and in an utter disarray of emotions. He was scared, angry, hurt, confused. So many things at once. She could get a headache from simply being near him. She met his crimson gaze.
"I wouldn't trust Victoria. I mean she killed me." Adley smirked.
The boy's eyes widened.
She pushed out waves of anxiety and fear. The exact cocktail she was experiencing. Riley stumbled. She didn't give him much choice. He was on his knees a moment later head rolling on the ground. Adley flinched at the noise. Ibrahim tossed him into the fire.
Victoria howled. Her screams hitting every tree in the area. Birds went flying from the trees.
Adley covered her ears. Edward lunged at the distraction. Ibrahim disappeared.
Victoria stopped. She dodged Edward. Rolling under him.
Ibrahim popped into existence a small fraction from her. She latched her teeth into his arm. He cried out.
Adley jumped. No. No.
She didn't hold back her emotions. Letting them crash over the small clearing of a few meters. Victoria didn't make it far when Ibrahim got her in a headlock. The girl wasn't playing fairly. She began to twist and wiggle in his arms. Her hands got loose.
Edward had Bella beside Adley.
"Take her and go." He demanded.
Adley did as told taking Bella's hand and they began to run into the woods. Bella tripped as much as one could on the many roots and bushes. Adley sighed once she put skin to skin. The girl began to run.
Adrenaline pumping through both.
Sweat began to trickle down her back as they continued. They needed to get away now.
Trees and shrubs looked the same, they booked it further into the woods. Hopefully they didn't become lost.
Too late Adley stopped. Bella slapped into her back.
"Ah!" She caught herself on a pine tree. She wiped the sticky sap on her pants.
"Adley…" A shaky finger pointed to the right of them.
There a clearing with two fires were going.
Adley gapped at it.
They seriously had moved this far? No, they couldn't have… There around them though piles of burning limbs were melting. A sickly-sweet smell wafted from the purple smoke. Was the battle done?
She pulled Bella down upon the ground. In a bush and a few trees. "Stay."
"What about you?" She demanded.
"I'll be fine." She waved her off.
Adley popped up and walked the few trees ahead to the clearing. She looked around. She recognized one of the wolves going around picking up pieces of vampire and tossing it into the flames. She continued passed and followed the sounds of fighting. Rocks upon rocks colliding with screams.
She squinted trying to see if they were near any of the fights. She didn't want Bella to be out in the open.
She wiped her brow. "Lady Adley!"
She turned. Jane stood in a dress and cloak. Her hair tied back and she was wide eyed in concern.
"Yes?" Adley took a step forward.
Arms crashed down on her shoulders.
"GAH!" She screamed.
Pain shot through her shoulders and neck. She was crushed in a force all to familiar. Teeth buried in her neck. She found herself locking eyes with Jane. The girl darted across the way.
Her vison blurring on the edges. She pushed her fear to the thing holding her. The threat to her air supply…
"Fucking hell!" She grabbed at her neck when the teeth were pulled from her neck. Blood began to trickle down her throat and onto her shirt.
She stumbled forward. She struggled to reach up to cover it. Rock crushing and grinding. She finally looked up to see the body of a vampire land in the fire. She barely had time to look to Jane when she saw one more vampire.
The girl was standing hands out, eyes pitch black. She could see the hunger in her aura. Her long hair was dark and down to her bottom, she was in jeans and a baggy sweater as she took sharp breaths. She didn't come forward though.
Adley watched as Jane walked slowly beside then in front of her. The two teens were glaring at each other, but no teeth were bared. What was this?
Confused Jane grabbed the other girl and forced her to her knees. The girl didn't cry out but whined.
"Don't move." She snapped.
Adley felt a cool cloth being pressed to her neck.
"Lady Adley, you're injured."
Ibrahim's familiar voice greeted her. She relaxed not moving her neck or shoulders. The pain was still radiating in her. The jolts coming from the burning in her right side of her neck. She didn't know what was going on.
"Where is Bella." He asked.
"In the trees."
"Edward has her." He assured turning her to address the wound.
"Where's Marcus?" Adley demanded.
