Adley stared at the doors Ibrahim had just rushed her out and down the hall from. Smoke had begun to billow out. She could smell the scent of burnt books and wood. A sharp pain came from her left arm. She looked down seeing blood bubbling over from a few scratches. In her arms little pieces of what looked like wood stuck from her skin. She shuddered. Her heart slammed into her chest as she turned to her guard who was on his cell phone.
"What was that?" She rasped.
"That was a bomb." He responded his face gave away no emotions. Her feelers still active and a little frazzled picked up on his anxiety that was swirling in his aura.
"Who the fuck sets off a bomb in a library?" She shook her head running her good hand over her loose locks.
She began to braid it, so it was out of the way. She slipped the hair tie off her wrist to secure it. She glanced down the other end of the hall. Marcus. She relaxed her posture as he stopped in front of her. He caught her chin looking her over. He zeroed in on her right arm.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine mostly some scratches… I wasn't in the direct line of the explosion. It was on the first floor I think… someone said something about a warning?" Her brow creased as he began pulling the pieces out.
Ibrahim was at his side with gauze and tape. Marcus pulled the few wood pieces out, handing them to Ibrahim. Marcus was sure to bandage her to at least secure it for now. It would be addressed later most likely by a doctor.
"Ibrahim, did you catch sight of who the two people were a few feet from us on the third floor?" She looked over to him.
"What other people?"
Adley frowned. "The two who said this would serve as a warning… not to mess with the Aster family? You surely would have seen them…"
"No one was up there with us." He replied, confusion swirling in his aura.
"I heard them and saw their auras." She mumbled. "I'm sure I did. I was meditating not off in dream land."
"I do not doubt you Lady Adley, but I did not see who they were." He responded his gaze turning over her shoulder.
"Perhaps I can take a look, sister?" Aro asked, he was to the right of her near her good hand.
She cringed slightly at his sudden arrival. Marcus uttered a low warning growl. "Relax Marcus, I'm just on edge from what just happened. The cuts sting too… Aro didn't mean to make me jump. Here."
She held her hand out to him. Aro took hold of it. His cool fingers ran over her knuckles. The current events whipped through her mind in flashes. Aro pulled back a moment later.
"This was deliberate." He replied looking to Marcus. "There were two entities that were present."
Aro rounded to her left and gestured to Ibrahim. The guard handed over his hand without protest. They were quiet for a few moments. Adley looked between Marcus who was currently holding her upper arms. She moved her left hand to hold it to her chest.
Ibrahim's cell phone rang. He quickly flitted down the hall to take the call.
"They must have been using a cloaking spell. Something that even your gift could see beneath. Fascinating sister, how long have you been able to sense those around you with your gift?" He marveled.
She shrugged. "Since I was fifteen? Aunt Janet taught me that. Do you think you'll be able to catch them?"
"Of course," Aro assured her.
"Why did they attack the library? What is the point? I heard screams, who was injured." She questioned.
Aro frowned at this. "If it was a warning from the Aster family, it has everything to do with the impending trial. We own the library and the facility that houses it. What other way to get a message across without out right declaring a war? Destroy property. I cannot be certain to who was present, but I believe Cassandra was. She had left her office to retrieve something. She had been taking a little while."
"She wasn't alone in the library. I sensed other magical beings with her. They have this electrical buzz to them… When I find someone's aura most of the time it is merely color and the emotions. The souls of witches and warlocks seem to be different. It is as if their very soul houses the magic…" Adley tried to explain.
"She wasn't meant to become a target." Marcus murmured. "We meet next week for the first hearing. They know we are in the facility currently…"
"They wish to scare us, not injure. You said they were all about laws and proper procedures. What other way to threaten without actually out right saying it?" Adley wondered aloud.
"Well, they succeeded at getting a scare tactic, they failed at not injuring anyone. Cassandra is in the medical hall with some healers and doctors around her. She's unconscious from what is reported. Three others are currently being treated as well for injuries. There was also a Warlock who died. Mr. Reginald Li, he is not on any of the councils or in the proceedings. He was an accidental casualty." Ibrahim flashed back to their side as he closed his cell phone.
"Shit, how is Cassandra doing?" Adley asked.
"Language sister," Aro corrected.
"Not the time." Adley waved him off. "How are the others?"
"There was fire downstairs that a few of our guards were able to put out. They were the ones to find the few unconscious witches and warlocks. There is extensive property damage." Ibrahim relayed. "They were burned by the flames. They have magic healers and medical doctors present."
"Can magic repair them?" She questioned.
"Magic is known to heal quite a few injuries. Burns are usually expected to heal. The issue is how far the burns spread and whether this bomb was merely a bomb." Aro answered.
"You are being requested Master Aro, to get a scope of things."
"I think it's best we accompany you down to the medical ward. Adley needs her cuts looked at." Marcus spoke up.
Adley looked down to her arm barely registering the pain. "Probably just need a topical cream. Nothing severe. Ibrahim got me out in time."
"Let us still have it looked at, wood was removed from your arm. Blood is still soaking through from what I can smell."
They made the journey down to level 5, down the left hall, in room 257. There six medical beds were rolled in ward style. Inside three had curtains drawn. Someone opened the door motioning them inside.
"Afternoon, Master Aro. Thank you for coming so quickly. Three of the four victims are currently recovering." A vampire in white coat, and dark blue scrubs greeted them. "Master Marcus, this must be Lady Adley."
Adley read the ID card, seeing 'Dr. Lorenzo Ramirez MD'. The man only a few inches taller than her looked over focusing in on her arm. Marcus held her waist protectively.
"Hi," She waived.
"She's in shock." Dr. Ramirez stated. "She was in the blast?"
"I am perfectly capable of speaking for myself." She deadpanned.
"Apologies, Lady Adley. I meant no offense. Were you present in the blast?" He asked pulling clipboard up and pen ready.
"Ibrahim pulled me out before anything truly hurt me. A few splinters in my arm, and scratches. I am fine beyond that." She answered.
"Up on the bed please, Lady Adley. I believe Master Marcus, would be soothed to know it is as you say." He gestured to the bed behind him. "I will have Dr. Lopez look at the wound. Master Aro, I have a report for you."
He drew the curtain closed. Adley slumped over on the bed, she sat waiting patiently. Marcus joined her. Ibrahim nowhere to be seen. She leant into Marcus' side.
"Afternoon, I'm Dr. Lopez,"
A woman in white lab coat and scrubs entered. She pulled on rubber gloves. In her hand a chart and pen. Her long dark hair pulled back in a bun, her medium brown skin was pallor, and red eyes stood out.
"May I take a look at your arm, Lady Adley?" She asked.
Adley held her left arm out. The doctor was quick to unwrap it. There the trickling of blood was staining her arm. She got a better look at the outside of her forearm. Little gashes were littered over her arm. Four or five of them were wide and still seeping through the gauze Marcus had put over them. Dr. Lopez flashed in and out of the little area. She was back with a tray of stiches and cleaning swabs. Adley frowned.
They weren't that bad, surely? She pursed her lips. Dr. Lopez cleaned the wounds first and foremost to sterilize the area. She investigated the small openings to see if there was anything left inside from the wood. Two small splinters were pulled out covered in skin and blood. Dr Lopez, then began with four stitches in the biggest one. the other two took three, and one took two. The other only needed one. She cleaned off the streaks of blood from Adley's arm and made sure to apply a topical cream to the small scratches that had began to crust over. Gauze and tape were placed over the stitches incase they bled through. The jagged edges had left it where it could not be completely closed by stitches alone.
"These should not take too long to heal. You got the wood out that is the main thing. I do not see any remaining foreign material currently. I will prescribe a cream that needs to be applied to the shallow wounds. If you see any issues with the arm, please come back immediately. I do not suspect lasting scars. Maybe one or two."
"Should an ultrasound be done?" Adley asked. "I'm pregnant…"
Dr. Lopez took the stethoscope placing the cool metal on her stomach. "I hear two healthy hearts. They may be slightly stressed from the blast because you were frightened. You are still experiencing the adrenaline rush. All is well though, no need to worry."
"Thank you," Adley stood up carefully, Marcus helped her to her feet.
"Try and relax these next few days, keep to a healthy diet and you will be fine. Keep the area around the stitches dry. Cover them to prevent water getting in, if they do get wet, let them dry and sterilize them."
Dr Lopez took her exit.
"See I told you I am fine." Adley stuck her tongue out at Marcus.
"I wish to be safe than sorry," He pressed a kiss to the top of her head. He pinched her behind gently.
"Ah!" she squeaked.
"Behave little one," He murmured to her.
"Fine, shall we go check in on Cassandra?" She questioned as they exited to the hallway.
Aro was already waiting speaking with Dr. Ramirez. "It may be best we hold off on visiting Cassandra."
"Is she okay?"
"Cassandra was standing next to Sir Li, when the bomb went off." Dr Ramirez explained. "She is in surgery to get the shrapnel out of her. They had big pieces and small ones through out her. She has also suffered from smoke inhalation, burns to seventy percent of her body. She has lost quite a bit of blood. Sir Li took the brunt of the hit protecting Cassandra and the few others, he jumped in the way casting a very quick shielding spell. It was not large enough to protect him."
Adley stared at the doctor. Her concern had her heart slamming into her chest. "Was this planned? Those attackers, did they plan on killing one of their own. Unless they meant a more direct hit…"
"Relax little one, they were sent as a warning. We will not know until we capture those who did this for the Aster family." Marcus replied.
"It is why I am placing a report together, it will go with some agents to the council." Dr. Ramirez added.
"Please do," Aro replied. "I will finish up here, brother why don't you escort Adley home?"
"I'm not broken Marcus," She looked up to him from his arms.
He had hoisted her with ease into his arms when they headed into the cabin. He continued after slipping off her shoes and his. He sat down upon the bed with her straddling his hips. He peered down to her cusping her cheek in his hand.
"I realize, little one. I still wish to ensure you are alright. It sooths my old heart to make sure you are alright. Even if physically, you will heal, I wish to ensure all of you is well." He murmured looking over her arm.
"Tis but a scratch." She shrugged. "I've had worse."
"It is a little more than a simple scratch."
"Tis but a flesh wound. I can still fight you." She held her fists up pulling back.
Marcus simple stared at her confused, he took her hands in his smoothing them out of their fists. She raised a brow at him.
"Have you not seen Monty Python and The Holy Grail?" She questioned.
"I am not familiar with the title."
"Again, with people neglecting you." Adley tutted. "This cannot stand, we will educate you in twentieth century culture. Monty Python is hilarious, and you must experience it. It's only after six, we can go to Blockbuster."
"You should be resting," He reminded.
"I'll rest once we have culture with us. I promise I will rest once we place the movies on. Come one." She slipped off his lap.
He followed without issue, despite the hesitant look on his face. She practically dragged him back to the Jeep and direct him to the Blockbuster in Olympia. It was thankfully cloudy out, for Marcus who was still dressed in a suit. He stuck out in the warm heat wave. She was in shorts, t-shirt, and flipflops. Marcus slid a pair of dark sunglasses on.
She didn't exactly give him a chance to get contacts in. She took his hand pulling him through the aisles. He towered over the stands, keeping close to her. Other people milled about choosing videos to get. She got looking for a few movies they could watch.
Near the back she found a copy of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
"Serendipitous." She smiled turning to him. "We can watch it tonight."
"There is no way out of this is there?" He questioned looking over the sunglasses at her.
She grinned even wider, a growing cackle from her. "Not a chance. Come now my out of place partner… Time to chill."
She pulled him along. The snack aisle, as beautiful as always. Adley grabbed a few bags of skittles, sour patch kids, Red hot Cheetos, and Milk duds.
"Is it wise to have all those sweets?"
"It is 100 percent necessary we have these." She affirmed.
"You'll need to see a dentist."
"My teeth are perfectly intact. I only had one cavity at six years old. That tooth is long gone. I had my wisdom teeth removed three years ago. Since then, no issues." She boasted. "It's also advised to appease the pregnant woman."
"Very well, little one."
It did not take them long to arrive back at the cabin. Adley switched on the first DVD. Marcus came back with the bowls of sweets and Cheetos for her. He pulled her into his side to relax.
"Anna, I need to go shopping." Adley groaned entering Anna's apartment.
Sunday afternoon, her children were now increased to twelve weeks. Her stomach officially showing. Anna opened the door letting her in. Anna was still in her robe and night gown.
"You're such a pain." Anna huffed getting coffee started. "I'm not even awake. Jordan is gone in for a shift. I am off, able to sleep in. Oma hasn't even called yet."
"I spoke with her this morning, she's still over the moon of these two." Adley rubbed her stomach.
"They are two of the new grandchildren. How is the to be husband?" Anna questioned.
"To be, huh?" Adley pressed sitting at her small dining room table.
"You're head over heels for the man. Anyone can see that. Plus, he is hot, and only sees you." Anna teased, beginning to serve her coffee. "You've expanded quickly, barely two weeks ago you were flat stomached."
"That's kind of what happens."
"Are you further along than you said?" Anna sat down.
Adley folded her arms across her chest. "I am having multiples."
"I went to medical school Adds. Two weeks is quite fast to be growing."
Adley sighed sitting back. She studied her older sister as the woman waited for an answer. Her dark hair was tossed up in a messy bun with many hairs all over the place. Dark eyes looked down to the bump not well hidden in the athletic shorts and t-shirt. It was no use lying to her family. Anna always knew.
"You know how our family has Empaths?" She began. "Marcus has his own secrets. There are things in this world that can't be fully explained and are best without the world knowing about."
"Oh! Okay I can respect that. Aunt Janet is doing your ultrasounds right?"
"Obviously," Adley snorted. "She's the one we go to…"
"About the strange and unusual." Anna finished. "I won't question it too much, my only concern what rate are they growing at?"
"Two weeks in one,"
"So, double the rate, your pregnancy will only be four and a half months… Let's go get you so maternity clothes and baby supplies. You'll be needing them."
"Aunt Janet estimated five months until full term. I am almost a full month into this."
"Damn, let me go shower and then we can go. Have you thought of names? In a month you'll know their gender, right?"
"Twelve weeks currently, next week fourteen, then sixteen, then eighteen, then twenty… yeah probably a month or so."
"Following tradition for naming?" Anna asked.
"I'm not sure, Appa is the only one who has a traditional Korean name. Oma is western in her own name. They stuck to western names for us."
"You could always stick to the western names." Anna shrugged.
"We'll see."
Anna and Adley went shopping that morning in one of the local maternity stores. Adley was looking over the many dresses on the surrounding racks. Many were long and to the knees and below. A few were lovely wrap dresses. She held out a lavender wrap dress with the v-neckline.
"That'd suit you," Anna commented.
"I hope so, other than these dresses I am not a fan of the pants. It's nice they consider the fabric for the pants, but I feel like I am going to be bagging in the legs." Adley showed the higher waist. "Also, these are wide legs, I am on board to throwing all of them out."
"You could just stick to tunic dresses and empire waists. Get some simple black leggings if you want pants, and sweaters." Anna suggested.
She held out a few pairs of athletic shorts that could be pulled up over the bump and would expand with her. "It works… I have no idea how Marcus is going to see me as attractive once I balloon further. I know he loves me obviously. It's just, will he still love me when I'm all stretched and bloated."
"Ah!" Anna smacked her hands. "Shut up, you're going to be glowing. If he can't accept you all big and showing off a bump, then I will personally light his balls on fire."
"Anna…"
"Adds, I am serious. Your man is over the moon about you. You're a drop-dead gorgeous woman too so relax. You aren't some awkward teen anymore with horrible skin. You've lost the acne scars, so calm yourself. Now go try some of those on then, we can go get boba. Also go looking for baby names…" Anna added which she barely caught as she was shoved into a changing room.
She came out with a good eight dresses chosen and other outfits as well. At the front they checked out. Anna found a naming book displayed at the front.
"You need this," she tossed it up onto the counter.
"Wonderful choice, it has all the latest names and various top one hundred lists as well. This way if you want unique you can." The sales woman explained.
Adley bit her bottom lip. "Alright… Marcus and I will give it a look. We've got months still."
"Yes, but you have two babies to name. trust your older sister." Anna added.
"Twins, oh your sister is right. You need one of these. Do you know their genders yet?"
"Not for a few more weeks." Adley answered. "I'll take a copy."
Two hours later Adley had gotten a few outfits, mostly wrap dresses that she could wear to the court trial as well as during the summer. She'd also bought new undergarments and sleepwear that was two sizes bigger. She assumed that Italy once they were back would be warm a good percentage of the time. The time at least for her pregnancy. She and Anna made their way to sit down in the food court with some lunch and boba.
"Okay, so I am saying right now no to Emma and Aiden." Anna opened the top 100's page of the large book.
"Why?"
"Every kid in their class may have the name or a good number of kids. It's been top for a few years on and off."
"I take it no top names for my kids."
"Nope."
Adley rolled her eyes. "How about Gertrude and Agnes, if girls."
Anna stared mouth fallen open. "What did those innocent babies ever do to you? Do you hate them?"
"I'm kidding."
"You better be, or I am dragging you to church."
"What about summer?" Adley took hold of the book.
"It's okay."
"Ha-Rin?"
"Soo-Ah."
"Mi-Sun."
"Dae-Hyun?"
"That's a boys name." Anna commented.
"I don't know their genders."
"Add to a list if you like it."
"Naming humans is hard…" Adley sighed after flipping through. "I like a good lot of these names."
"Get a pen and circle the ones you like, have Marcus go over them with a different color, star the ones you both like. Have a list made up. Parents never really chose the first name once they see the kids." Anna added.
"A good idea."
Adley entered the cabin after shopping and headed to the closet to hang some of the dresses up. A lot of the other outfits she'd gotten in more recent sizes to bring with her to Italy if need be.
"Did you enjoy your afternoon?" Marcus asked coming up behind her, resting his head on hers while wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Yes, I did," she leant back kissing his cheek. "Anna made me buy a name book. She suggested we go through and circle in different colors the ones we like. The ones we both like we can maybe discuss?"
"Not a bad idea to be prepared for naming them." He agreed.
"Did you have any names in mind?"
"I have existed for millennia. I came across a few I did not mind my father's name for instance. Augustus, he was a strong and fair general."
"Seems a bit out of time, doesn't it?" She turned in his hold.
"Aren't I also out of a different time?"
"Your name has been common for the last few decades at least. Many go by Mark now, but still Marcus is the full name." She replied. "The name August is the more common spelling of it. I do not mind it. I like the name Henry, Noah, Theodore…"
"We have a few weeks to decide yet, little one."
"What of a girls name?"
"Claudia, Floriana, Valeria, Sophia, Althea, Tatianna, Roslyn…"
"Those aren't terrible." She admitted. "They flow nicely…"
"We will know their gender in mere weeks love, do not fret… we can always ask our family for suggestions as well."
"True." She laid her head upon his chest. "Join me in the bath?"
"Always," his voice dropped a few octaves.
He guided her along into the bathroom. The door shut and she was tossing her shirt off and undoing her bra. She heard shredding of clothes happening behind her. She glanced back. He was already nude.
Her cheeks heated. She slid the athletic shorts off with her panties wiggling her behind at him. She quietly chuckled at his groan.
"Little one, you are a tease." He rumbled appearing behind her.
He had her hips pulled against him. She gasped at the feel of his erection on her lower back. "Someone's eager."
"You are an oasis to a dying man." He replied pressing heated kisses down her neck.
He nipped at the mark he had left upon her shoulder. She shivered goosebumps broke out across her body. She bit back her moan, slowly making her way to the waiting tub. Marcus though was faster. She barely registered the sudden movement. The tub filling and he had her sat upon his lap. She leant back stroking his cheek luring him down to kiss her.
She caught his lips in an open mouth kiss, requesting permission to his open mouth. His tongue tangled with hers, his hands coming to run up and down her sides. His cool fingers ghosting her breasts. He was gentle, not rushing her in his ministrations. Desire building between them, adding to her growing wetness between her thighs.
"Marcus… I need you." She murmured against his lips.
"patience, there is pleasure in delayed gratification." His words rumbling in his chest.
He caught her up in another heated kiss. This time his fingers began rolling her sensitive nipples between the forefinger and thumb. He was mindful of the increased tenderness to them. She shivered, her hips bucked back. Desire pooled in her middle.
He caught her hips in one hand holding her still. His other began trailing down between her folds, ghosting over her clit. She took a sharp intake of breath. Eyes fluttering shut.
He moved his lips down her jaw, allowing her to breath. His lips seared her skin, increasing in desperation. Her coil building, she needed to move. Unable to against his iron grip. She whimpered. His fingers tracing a circuit around her folds and thighs, teasing her opening never touching her clit.
She bit her bottom lip.
"Don't hide your sounds from me, little one. let me hear you." He warned, before pressing a kiss behind her ear.
She shivered. The heat of the water rose to crash around her breasts that were at attention. She arched her back as he pressed forward. The running of the water shut off. She leant back as he pulled her attention in multiple ways.
She was taking shallow breaths.
He dipped one cool digit into her opening. She stiffened, at the invasion. She was already slick from his teasing. His own desire washing over her, enveloping her. It never took a lot of foreplay these days to have her mewling and wanting. She needed him.
He pressed another finger in, slowly beginning to pump in and out of her. She moaned head falling back, she gripped his arm for support her other one going to his neck. She could feel his own breaths becoming labored. She looked up from hooded eyes catching sight of his onyx gaze.
"That's it little one, such a good girl." He cooed.
He pulled his fingers out. She whined in protest.
"You're absolutely soaking, tell me little one, what you want." He growled.
"You. Marcus, please." She replied breathless. "Please fuck me."
"Since you asked so nicely."
He slid in her fully sheathing himself in her. She moaned relaxing into him. One hand moving between playing with her breasts and the other lowering to guide her hips up and down his length.
"You are absolutely breath taking, little one, never more so then with my cock in you." He whispered.
She fell back, desire overwhelming her. Sweat from the steam beading on her forehead and back. He picked up the pace, moving her up and down, her breasts bouncing causing the water to crash upon her. She didn't care of the mess.
Right now she needed him. Her body coiled tighter and tighter, climbing towards climax. He picked up in speed. Both hands came to grip her waist. In and out, almost bottoming out in her. She groaned mouth falling open as he sped up faster, he changed angles slightly, teeth finding the apex of her neck and shoulder…
"Ah!"
Adley clenched down as her climax crashed down upon her. Her body relaxing like a rag doll on him. Marcus pumped into her a few more times, finding his own peak.
"I love you…" she whispered capturing his lips in a slow kiss.
"as I you,"
Sometime later they were resting, Adley had ate some fruit for desert fresh from the farmers market she had gone to with Anna later that afternoon.
"Do try and not mark her too badly, brother." Aro tutted entering the cabin.
Adley was curled into his side, dressed in a long night gown and robe. She looked over to her brother-in-law to be. He looked out of place in the expensive looking suit. She was glad to have gotten Marcus into jeans and a shirt. She was currently braiding her hair back exposing said mark. Her cheeks reddened as Aro took in the mark on her neck. Marcus wasn't embarrassed at all. His aura filled with pride.
"You could at least be bashful about marking me." She tried to be stern but couldn't.
"I find myself relieved you will not be a newborn vampire," Aro shook his head sitting down on the couch across from them. "We'd have a destroyed castle."
"Why would we destroy a castle?" She questioned.
"Vampires, when they are mating can become quite passionate in their couplings. It takes some years to master not breaking furniture."
"If we do, I promise to keep it in the dungeon if need be." Marcus drawled.
Adley's eyes bulged, while she choked on her water. "I swear if you have a sex dungeon…"
"Not yet…" Marcus assured her.
"Even with your mate sex can get boring if you do not work to spice it up." Aro shrugged.
"I really have very little desire to know if you or Caius have a sex dungeon. I don't really want to know about your kinks before getting acquainted with my future in laws." Adley shook her head taking a drink of water once more.
Both men only laughed.
"Well every room is as sound proof as possible. We keep to our own wings of the castle, as to allow for some privacy. So intercourse is not limited to the dungeons. Only Caius, when he and Athena decide to explore the bounds of drugs and vampires… that or when they get quite passionate with art." Aro shuddered. "I have my own boundaries as very little and vast they are."
"I forget you really do know everything about everyones most intimate thoughts."
"As you their emotions."
"I only know what they feel in their true forms, not always so much what is causing it. There is a difference."
"True, I still do not share out of decency."
"I appreciate that. So, what did you get up to today?" Adley questioned changing the subject.
"I was in the medical bay with Cassandra and the other survivors. Cassandra while stable is still unconscious. They've placed her in a medical coma. I cannot get through the barrier of her mind. I most likely won't be able to until she is awake and able to move the shield at will. It's rather an annoying trait of magical beings. They tend to be able to shield their thoughts." Aro frowned. "The others involved are alive, but did not catch who placed the bomb. One woman remembers a black cloak, which narrows it down to no one. We go forth with the first hearing on Wednesday, and we have a very real threat on our hands."
"Do they wish to cancel the hearing?"
"No, even with prominent members of their community attacked and hanging on for their lives. They are wishing to proceed. The council does not see this as a threat to them directly. Only to us."
"They did not plan those Witches and Warlocks present, I can understand the council thinking this is but a coincidence." Marcus commented, his aura showing his distaste.
"I don't believe in coincidences. They were a target whether they believe they are or not. One of their own is still dead, and I heard these comments…"
"Which they do not know of. No one outside of Lorenzo, a few of the most trusted guards know of what was said. I did not reveal how we know this was a threat upon us and from who. Our investigation we will keep under wrap until we are ready to present this at trail or cull the threat ourselves. I am not particularly a fan of the court system of the Witches and Warlocks. They are tedious. This is personal." Aro expressed hands clasping together.
Adley pursed her lips. "I don't find myself doubting the such plans. I would usually hesitate and say lets hear them out, but not this time. It was too close to home. They wish to threaten us."
"Then it is settled we will proceed with this in silence and once we find the culprits, have our own justice." Marcus added.
