Four years later,
Jasmine stood in front of Medusa, holding her blades. Medusa stood ready, clearly showing a bemused smirk. Jasmine held out her blades and ran towards her. Medusa dodges each of her adopted daughter swings, her smirk not fading. Jasmine then runs around Medusa and tries to strike her back. However, Medusa easily turns around and blocks them with her staff.
"Sneak Attacks are a good idea. But you are facing a Goddess, dear girl." She said.
"Hmph! Don't think I'm a normal girl. You taught me some nice tricks." Jasmine said, pulling something out of her robe.
She threw it to the ground and cover the area with smoke. Medusa took a step back but still keep her smirk. She waited until she heard someone coming behind her. Medusa spins around and swings her staff. To her shock, she cut a Monoeye in half! She hears something from her right and fires a beam, knocking back a Reaper.
"Using my minions as decoys? Very smart." She said before looking up.
Jasmine was driving at her, swinging her blades downward. Medusa blocks them before grabbing her out of the air. She tosses Jasmine to the ground and places her staff on her chest.
"You still have a long way to go before you can fight Palutena," Medusa said.
"Maybe..." Jasmine said as the staff was removed.
She then grabs the end of the staff before using it as a boost to ram Medusa in the chest, knocking her down. Medusa lays on the ground and Jasmine places her blades at her neck.
"But I'm not a helpless girl." She added.
Medusa laughs. Her daughter was smarter than she looks. Which was great, but there was one thing...
"You're not, but I'm not helpless either!" Medusa said, using her snake hair to wrap up Jasmine's arms.
"Oh come on! Not fair, mom!" Jasmine whines as her arms were pulled away.
"Jasmine, what did I say about being fair?" Medusa asked, letting go of her arms.
"No one plays fair. Even in the underworld." Jasmine said, sighing.
"Good. Now, let's get you something to eat. It's almost lunchtime." Medusa said.
Jasmine heard her stomach growl and nodded. She hands over her blades and Medusa took a good like at them.
'Hmm, they are started to wear. Damn it! I knew the metal was too cheap!' She thought.
That meant it was time to get Jasmine some new weapons. But it will have to wait. She put the blades away and started to take Jasmine to the dining room for her food. Medusa gave all of her minions a clear warning that if anyone tries to poison her daughter, she will find out and she will make them go under a lot of torture. They will never see the end of it.
Medusa hasn't seen Pandora for a while, but that was because she had banished her to the maze that was built. On Jasmine's 9th birthday, Pandora gave her a gift. But it wasn't an original gift. When Jasmine opened it she was covered in spores that made her look ready sick. But Medusa knew those spores were far more dangerous than they looked. Luckily, she knew the cure. A nice hot bubble bath. When Jasmine told her where she got it, Medusa was beyond piss. She beat the crap out of Pandora and revoke her title as one of her captains. She was still part of the Underworld Army, due to being part of her plans, but Pandora no longer had any control over any members of the army.
"Mom? Ain't you going to eat?" Jasmine asked, snapping her from her thoughts.
"I'm a Goddess, Jasmine. I don't need to eat." Medusa said as Jasmine looks at all the food.
"I know I'm growling girl, but I can't eat all this!" Jasmine said.
She had no idea how her mother was able to get all this food. Some she never even heard of before.
"I have my ways. Please, eat." Medusa said.
Jasmine sighs and grabs some grapes. She ate as Medusa watched. It's been six years since she took her in. Medusa smiled as she thought about how much she changed. She went from a human-hating Goddess to a mother. Jasmine had shown her that not all humans were worthless. But that didn't change the fact she wanted to get back at Palutena for what she did to her.
Medusa sighs as Jasmine grabs another food, one she never heard of before.
"Mom? What's this?" She said, holding up an Ice Cream cone.
"It's ice cream. It's made from milk. A little warning, be careful of how much you eat. I heard it can hurt your brain." Medusa said.
"Ice...Cream?" Jasmine asked, giving it a lick.
"WOW!" Jasmine said before eating it.
"Don't eat too fast, dear. You'll get a stomach ache." Medusa told her.
"Yes, mom," Jasmine said, rolling her eyes.
Medusa smiles as she watches her human daughter eat. She still has a hard time that she had turned into a lovely-caring mother to a human. Jasmine was starting to look less like a pawn and more like someone she loves. She saw Jasmine grab another food she has never seen before and ate it. It was really good. She couldn't stop stuffing her face with the food that was there. Medusa couldn't help but giggle at her.
"After your done, we're training your eye." She said.
Jasmine shallows her food before touching her right eye. Even since she lost her old one four years ago, she was getting used to using her new power. She wasn't very comfortable with it, but it did help her in some dangerous places. She mostly kept her eye covered with her hair, a style that took some getting used to.
"Mom?" She asked, making Medusa turn to her.
"Yes, Jasmine?" She answered.
"Um...do you...never mind. It's stupid." She said.
"Jasmine, tell me. What is it?" Medusa asked.
"Do you really hate humans that much? I mean, I'm a human, and you took me in." She asked.
Medusa sighs.
"I never thought much of them like Palutena does. They just looked so weak and helpless. Being the Godness of Darkness, it was my job to help them as much as I could, but Palutena didn't see it that way. But on the day I found you, there was something about you that I couldn't bring myself to hate. To this day, I still don't know what that is. I still don't carry a lot of love for the humans, but I can at least tell they're not as weak as before." Medusa said.
"Then, do you hate me for being a human?" Jasmine asked.
Medusa looks at her in shock.
"Hate you?! Jasmine, I would never hate you. For the past 6 years, you have shown me another side to humans and what it feels like to have a daughter. When you were kidnapped, I come to your recuse. Every time the Underworld army would hurt you, I was by your side. Just because you're a human, doesn't mean I hate you for it." Medusa said.
Jasmine blinks before giving a small smile.
"Thanks, mom." She said.
Medusa smiles, glad to see that Jasmine understood. She actually thought back to her original plan of using Jasmine as a pawn. Medusa never thought she'll take a liking to the girl. And Jasmine has been going along with her plan even without her tricks. Maybe this would be her chance to beat Palutena once and for all.
Later,
Jasmine gasps as she covered her eye. After eating, she's been using her eye to turn different things into stone. However, she had a limit before her eye started to hurt. Medusa kneed down next to her and checked her eye. It wasn't bleeding like last time, so Jasmine has gotten used to its power. But even she knew that her magic was too much for a human to use.
"I think that's enough. I don't want to replace your eye again." Medusa said, looking at the items she turned to stone.
Those items were actually some of her minions that have attacked Jasmine in the past. Medusa looks at Jasmine, who kept her eye close. She could see that she had tears coming out of it.
"Jasmine..." Medusa said, helping her daughter up.
"It hurts, but I think I'm getting used to the pain." She said, keeping her eye covered.
Medusa nods. She didn't want Jasmine to push herself too much. She helped Jasmine up, and lead her to her room. Jasmine sat on her bed as Medusa check her eye.
"Hmm, its power is growling stronger. But we need to keep an eye on it." She said, placing her hand on it.
She healed the eye with her magic and Jasmine sighed.
"Mom? Can we go to earth again?" She asked.
"Oh? Why?" Medusa asked.
"I...want to..." Jasmine trailed off.
"Jasmine?" Medusa asked, causing the girl to sigh again.
"I kind of getting tired of being in the underworld, I just want to go and see the people again." She said.
Medusa knew she could never destroy Jasmine's humanity. After all, she was raised by her parents before she found her.
"Very well, but first get some rest. I'll wake you in an hour." Medusa said, seeing the girl smile.
"Thank you," Jasmine said, laying down.
Medusa reaches up and kissed her new daughter's forehead. To think this human changed her so much. All because she became her mother.
'Jasmine, out of all the humans I hate, you are one that I'll never hate. You're my daughter now. I'm not going to let you get hurt by Palutena or her pet. I will never leave your side.' She thought.
Medusa sat in a chair, watching as her human daughter slept.
One Hour Later,
"I still don't get why we have to come down here."
"I told you, Pit. Even as the Goddess of Light, I need to get up close to the humans from time to time." Palutena said.
Both the Goddess of Light and her captain had taken up human forms and were walking through a town. Palutena was looking for some food that she wanted to use and Pit couldn't stay behind. As her captain, it was his job to watch over Lady Palutena.
"Well, didn't think I'll see you again.
Palutena turns and saw the woman she had spoken to a few years ago. Next to her was a young girl with red hair, covering one of her eyes.
"Hello, again!" Palutena said.
Remembering to keep their identities a secret, Pit leads over and whispers to her.
"Do you know these people, Lady Palutena?" He asked.
"The woman, yes. The girl, no." Palutena whispers back.
"Is something wrong?" The woman asked.
"No, just informing my son that I met you before," Palutena said.
"SON?!" Pit almost shouted.
"Well, he's a cutie." The woman said, pinching his cheek.
"Ow ow ow!" Pit said, feeling his cheek get pulled.
"And who's this?" Palutena asked.
"Ah, yes. This is my daughter, Jasmine." The Woman said.
"Hello," Jasmine said, bowing.
"Oh? Was this the girl that you told that was attacked?" Palutena asked.
"She is. As you can see, she's fully recovered." The woman said.
Jasmine notices Pit and walks up to him. Pit blinks as she leads closer before walking around him, looking up and down. Pit was unsure what she was doing before he notices Jasmine smiling when she came back around.
"Your son is very handsome, miss." She said.
"Thank you," Palutena said, sighing.
"Jasmine, remember why I said about calling other miss?" The woman said.
"Yes, mom," Jasmine said, rolling her eyes.
"OH! I just remembered! I never got your name." Palutena said.
The Woman secretly smiles before telling her name.
"Meggy."
'Meggy? That's strange. That name sounds familiar.' Palutena thought.
"Call me, Pally. And this is Patrick!" Palutena said, surprise to use her old nickname.
'Huh, I haven't used that name since Medusa was kicked off Skyworld.' She thought.
"Nice to meet you, Pally," Meggy said.
Jasmine turns to Pit and smiles.
"So, Patrick?" She asked.
"Um, yes! Though you can call me Pat." Pit said, wondering what's gotten into Lady Palutena.
"Okay, Pat," Jasmine said, smiling.
She then grabs his arm, shocking Pit.
"So, what do you do?" She asked, getting closer to him.
"Um, I, err," Pit said, not noticing Palutena giggling.
"Looks like our daughter likes my son." She said.
Medusa rolled her eyes. She knew that Jasmine never met Pit before, but maybe she could use this. Seeing Jasmine smile was enough to tell her that she'll leave this alone.
Hey, everyone! Really sorry about the long update!
"Glad to see that you have returned, Phantom Fan 21."
Yeah, and I feel 100% better. Of course, some of you already know that.
"Yes, even Viridi didn't like that a virus was taking away her work."
She needs to get over it. She's doing more harm than good, anyways.
"So, me and Medusa meet again, huh? And you made Pit my son?"
It's been a long time, Lady Palutena. Whatever plan I had before was long gone by the time I return to this. So I just work on whatever came to my mind.
"Fair enough. And Patrick?"
Oh, the name of my real-life first younger brother. He wants nothing to do with his family anymore and I haven't heard from him in years. And we never call him Pat.
"That's sad."
It's fine. As the oldest sibling, as long as they take care of themselves I'm happy to see that they are living their lives. Anyways, I think the endnotes had gone on long enough. Don't know when I'll return to this story again, but I'm not giving up on it. I just get busy with other stories or new ones keep popping up. I do have one last thing to say, and it's something we do here in America, Lady Palutena.
"I know. Allow me. Happy Independence Day, everyone!"
