Jasmine sighed as she lay on her bed. After spending the day with Patty and her son Pat, she couldn't help but think about Pat during the trip home. Shy, clueless, and just around cute. She felt her heart beating in her chest, making her grab it.
"Gods help me." She said, knowing what that means.
She has a crush on Pat! Why? Yeah, he was a little confused about some things. But he seems to care a lot about his mother, stating that he truly cares and loves her. Like she did with Medusa. However, the one thing that really stuck out was the fact that he wanted to protect her with his life. Stating that was her that give him life, and she wanted to do all he can to help her. Just like how she wanted to help Medusa.
Jasmine sighs before sitting up. Maybe she should talk to Medusa about this. She walks towards her door and opens it. She found herself face to face with a Reaper. Jazz glares at it, her other eye glowing behind her hair.
"Are you going to disobey an order from the queen?" She asked, not scared.
She has grown used to seeing the Underworld Monsters and knew how to deal with them should they attack. The Reaper looked at her a little longer before it moved away. Jasmine nods and started to head toward the throne room. She knocks on the doors and heard Medusa answer.
"Come in, Jasmine."
She push open the doors and walked up to her mother.
"Mom." She said, bowing.
"Don't bow, my dear," Medusa said, lifting her head.
"Is there something the matter?" Medusa asked.
"Well, I've been feeling a little different since our trip." Jazz said, rubbing her arm nervously.
"Different how?" Medusa asked.
"Well, I think I gain a crush on Pat," Jasmine said, blushing.
'WHAT?! She has a crush on Palatuna's pet?!' Medusa thought in shock.
She was able to keep her surprise hidden as she started to think.
"I must admit, I didn't think a boy would win your heart. Tell me, what is it about him that you like so much?" Medusa asked.
"Well, he kind, clueless, and cute. But the one thing I like is that he was willy to do anything for his mother. He told me that she gave him the will to live and own a lot to her. Kind of how I am with you." Jasmine said, blushing.
"I see," Medusa said.
She then pats Jasmine's shoulder, making the girl look up.
"I'm not upset that you found someone to love. Though, I will admit I'm a little jealous of you." She said.
"You are?" Jasmine asked.
"Yes, I have been alone for years. I never found someone that I love. Sure there were a few humans I liked, but never outright loved. Sometimes, we gods nearly have the time to find a loved one." Medusa told her.
Jasmine looks sad. Her mother never found someone to love? Besides her, that is. Jasmine hugs Medusa, surprising the Godness of Darkness, but she quickly shook it off and returns the hug.
She knew it would break her heart when she learned the truth, but Medusa will be there for her. Always.
Meanwhile, Skyworld,
Palutena sat in her throne room, thinking about the woman she met on earth. As well as her daughter. There was something about the two that she couldn't shake.
"Lady Palutena?"
She looks up to see Pit looking a bit worried.
"I'm fine, Pit. I'm just thinking." She said.
"About what?" Pit asked.
"Meggy and her daughter. For some reason, we got along pretty well. As if we knew each other for years." She said, sighing.
"Huh, I know the people worship you, but I never saw anyone that got along with you like they knew who you were." Pit said, thinking.
"Meggy," Palutena said, sighing to herself.
"Lady Palutena?" Pit asked again.
"That name. I gave Medusa that nickname long ago. When we were still friends. She was the only person that knew that name." Paltauna said.
"But Medusa betray you and I had to destroy her to save you." Pit said.
"And I'm grateful, Pit. But, sometimes, I just wish there was another way. Maybe I was too harsh in cursing her and kicking her out. Maybe I should have figured out a way to make things work." Palutena said, sighing.
Pit frowns. He knew the story between Palutena and Medusa. For a time, he thought that they got along well. Like they were sisters. But when he fought her for the first time, Medusa was nothing like the person he was told. And to hear that Lady Palutena felt some guilt about what she did, made him worried even more.
"Look, I'm not going to say what you did was right or wrong, but you did what you thought was best at the time. Medusa is the one that attacked Sky World. She's the one that kidnapped you. She's the one that hurt the humans. Those are her faults. Could have things gone better, if you tried something different? Maybe. But just know I don't blame you for anything. You're my goddess, Lady Palutena and I'll stay by you all the way." He said.
Palutena smiled. She got off her throne before pulling Pit in a hug. Pit was surprised. It was rare for her to hug him like this. He couldn't deny that it felt nice.
"Thank you, Pit." She said, breaking it.
"Of course, my lady." Pit said, smiling.
Palutena sat back on her throne before recalling something else.
"I also happen to notice how Jasmine acts around you. I think she likes you." She teased.
"Um, likes me? I don't know." Pit said, blushing.
Back in the Underworld,
Medusa sighs after Jasmine left. To think that her human daughter fell in love with Palutena's guard. As much s she would like to have them seek out a relationship, maybe to help things move along, she didn't want to break her daughter's heart once the truth came out.
Still, she knew that Jasmine was getting older. She still remembers seeing the small girl in Palutena's temple, holding a stick with blood running down her arm. Before that sight would have made her smile with glee. But now, it makes her worry and scared. She told herself that she wouldn't get attached, but she ended up doing so anyways. She has given her something she lost long ago, love.
She could almost hear the Goddess of Love swoon at her thoughts, causing her to scoff. Jasmine was hers. She would do anything to protect her. Like a mother would for their daughter. She stood up, maybe a quick soak could help.
Medusa sat in her hot spring, relaxing. To think that she needed something like this. She remembers the time she and Palutena would spend time in the Hot Springs, just relaxing and talking about random things. Why was she thinking about the past? Why was she feeling regret about what she did?
"Mom?"
Medusa looks up, seeing Jasmine walk in, holding a towel.
"Yes?" Medusa said, noticing she was a little nervous.
"I know you never found a lover, but can you tell me how to act around a boy?" She said, blushing.
Medusa blinks before sighing.
"Get in. The spring is still warm and I'm getting out for a while." Medusa told her.
Jasmine nods and soon undressed. After wrapping a towel around her body, she steps in and sat next to her mother.
"I think you're still young for this, but if you do seek out someone, it's better if you learn about the warnings," Medusa said.
"Warnings?" Jasmine asked, confused.
'By the gods, I seriously can not believe what I'm about to say.' Medusa thought, holding back a groan.
What do you mean by that?
Err, it's something we call "The Talk."
The Talk?
I was never giving it myself, but it's something that every kid has to learn about when they grow up.
I see. Still, it's nice to know that Jasmine has a crush on Pit. And I'm a little surprised by Pit's words.
I don't remember if you even regret what you did to Medusa in the games, but's it been a long while since I watched any walkthroughs of the games.
Fair enough. Nice to see you return to this story after so long.
Hehehe, sorry. Other stories and new ideas pop up from time to time. And I'm sorry about misspelling your name the first few times. If I haven't used the word or name in some time, I forget how to spell it.
That's fine. I know my name is tricky to spell at times.
I see. Well, Not sure when the next chapter will be, and...wait.
What?
Well, it seems that Viridi, the Goddess of Nature, is coming as well.
Huh. Strange, I thought she saw she'll never come down.
Well, until then. I'm going to think over the next chapter. See you guys then.
