I think the most of us who love Bakugo is because we see ourselves in him. Well I certainly do at least. It's a bit scary. I feel like I know him on a personal level because of how much alike we are.
Or maybe that's wishful thinking.
By the way. Because of Bakugo being on house arrest he never got to experience the fight with Lemillion like everyone else did. What's up with that? That's a fight I want to see.
—--
If there was one thing Bakugo hated most, it was having someone tell him what to do. Especially when he already knew what the end result was going to be. Bakugo made sure to perfect and hone his skills, excelling in every way possible, just so no one would have any power of authority over him.
He wished they'd stop pestering and let him be. If only they'd realize.
Bakugo wasn't much for sitting around on his butt. He wanted action, and craved the chaos that came with it. Perhaps it was due to his quirk but for some reason he loved being in stressful situations. He was able to strategize better out in the field instead of coming up with a plan beforehand.
Because of how highly Bakugo set the bar up for himself he didn't understand why no one else was at the same level as him. His speed and way of obtaining things were far higher than his classmates. Who he felt did everything at a snail's pace. He understood that not everyone has the same goals or pace…but come on.
Which is why he remained a recluse and stayed in his room. He just didn't want to deal with all the nonsense.
They were all afraid of his force of power, but what no one understood was Bakugo wanted them to face him, to try their best to win. Maybe if they tried Like Uraraka, or somehow won against him, maybe he'd be a lot less pissed off.
Bakugo stared at his half naked form in front of the mirror in his bathroom, surveying the damage the Serpenter twins had done to him.
"Bastards" He breathed. Putting one hand up against the wall, leaning in a bit closer so he could view what happened to his eye in the fight.
If he could somehow use his quirk to cauterize the wounds that would solve a lot of problems during battles. If he could use his ability to cook food and singe Deku, he could find a way to do that too.
Bakugo knew he was not liked by everyone. They saw the anger, the outbursts and the lack of social skills and felt there would never be any chance of him becoming a hero. Or because of it turning to villainy.
"Proved all you losers wrong on that one huh?." Bakugo stated. Thinking back to Hosu and smirking. Sure he could have played along, but he was anything but a faker.
"These wounds are going to take some time to heal." He remarked turning so he could see his backside. Those were some deep gashes.
His mother's words played back in his mind from his youth. Sacrificing his body for heroism. He had made a decision that day and never looked back. Never once did he regret that decision. Not ever.
Facing and defeating two villains alone for the first time with one eye injured was definitely something he was proud of.
"Katsuki!" He heard his mom's voice. "Katsuki!" There wasa bang on the door. He opened it to reveal his mother's frantic face.
"What's wrong?"
"Those villains you fought, someone else was there Katsuki look!" She handed him the phone, he pressed play and watched on as it played through.
"The hell? I set explosions up all over the place, this idiot could have died." He said not daring to take his eyes off the screen. "Ah crap, it's all over the news isn't it?"
"Most likely." The phone rang. "Izuku's on the phone.
"What nerd?" He listened. "Quit you're worrying as you can clearly hear I'm fine."
"Well yeah but I…I'm glad you're okay Kacchan. See you at school later?"
"Yeah Deku, I'll be there." He hung up the phone only for it to ring again. Bakugo refused to answer it. "I'm off to U.A."
"You aren't in any shape to go anywhere. And what about the press?"
"Like I told Deku, I'm fine. And as for the vultures sitting outside, I'll use my quirk on them, I could use some entertainment."
"Katsuki!"
"Oh come on! I wasn't actually going to do anything." Once he got to school there was quite a bit of staring and whispering. But he'd gotten so used to it after the festival he shrugged it off.
"Hey Kacchan!" Kaminari waved.
"Use my real name, you moron."
"Fine be that way! See if I care. I only wanted to congratulate you on your win, all those scars should make you a hit with the ladies."
"Unless he hits them back."
"Good one Mineta."
"Oh really, you've had some pretty nasty scars yourselves. So where are all your fangirls?"
"Uh…" Mineta and Kaminari just glanced at each other sheepishly. Bakugo sighed and stared out the window.
There wasn't much point in having a girlfriend if you were a top hero. Villains are after you and them and anyone close. Not to mention there were aspects of his quirk he had to think of in that situation.
"Alright everyone I have some news." Aizawa said entering the classroom. "Our school budget has increased, meaning we can now add more students to the program. There are four of them and-"
"Attention students-" came the principals voice.
"-I wasn't done yet."
"As you are all aware we now have new students joining us, and if you'll come out to the training grounds and await further instructions we have something special planned."
"Alright class 1-A, unless Mr. Aizawa has any further things to add, you heard what we were instructed to do."
"I'll leave you to it Iida." Aizawa said. "Class dismissed."
"Sir!" Everyone said in unison while clamoring out the door.
"I know we are all excited but please exit through the door in a calm and rational manner."
"Whatever Speed racer."
"Much preferable over glasses I suppose." Iida said. Getting used to Bakugo's weird name usage and the fact that he never really used anyone's actual name. Except for Kirishima and Uraraka.
"Hello, hello and welcome to the training grounds. Now if you would all kindly go up to the stands and sit down we will proceed with the matches." The principal said.
"Matches?" Kirishima questioned. "Are they having everyone fight the newbies right off the bat? That's hardcore man."
"For all we know this could be an entrance exam for them." Bakugo said. "And we've got permission to crash their party."
"In a matter of speaking, I guess you could say that exactly what this is.. But if they lose, there's a chance that they may or may not become one of your classmates."
"So if one of us loses, are we risking getting thrown out of U.A.? Iida
"No Iida, you aren't."
"That's a relief." Kaminari exclaimed.
"Up first is Yuwara Dumashi: Hero name: Switcheroo, he can transform into anything he touches. A real life savor if you've gotten caught, but a real pain if you get tied up by him!"
"Sounds divine!"
"I didn't know you wanted to help me commentate Midnight!" Present Mic said.
"I don't, I'm just speaking out loud!"
"Ah! Well our random name generator says that the person to battle him is uh oh. Monoma."
Yuwara turned himself into a rock. Monoma touched said rock and turned into a bank vault. "Try if you might, but you won't be able to get out."
"Okay, well…that was fast. Better luck next time eh Dumashi? Next up we got Shigure Atsuhara: Hero Name: Speakeasy, he can transform ideas and thoughts into reality. Up against Mineta from class 1-A."
"Eh. I'm just going to put you inside a cage you can't escape from until after the match is over." Said thing happened. "Done."
"Wow, overpowered much? Alright our next contender is Ayame Shiori: Hero name: bounceback, She can bounce on anything and even change properties on any inanimate object she touches. Up against Yaoyorozu.
They fought so hard, but in the end it was a draw.
"Tiring. Excuse me while I go to the men's room. Aizawa, if you'd be so kind as to choose the next contender please."
"Okay well. Last contender is Erity Ryucchi. And her opponent is Bakugo."
Unheard of by anyone else Erity gasped. This was the last person she expected to fight against.
"And her power is-"
"I don't need to know her power I'll find out on my own." Bakugo stood before her. "Just so you know, I'm not going to go easy on you for being a girl. I hope you realize that."
"The feeling is mutual. Thanks for the warning. Not all of us are fragile Lilies. Shall we proceed?"
"I thought you'd never ask!" He blasted over to her.
"Ah what did I miss?" Mike's voice came back. "Oh we got Bakugo on the stand huh? Against Erity Ryucchi whose power-" Aizawa put a hand over Mike's mouth and turned off the speaker button.
"No Mike, it's not a good idea."
"Are you telling me the poor kid doesn't know what he's in for?"
"First off he didn't want to know…"
"And secondly?"
"I'm afraid I don't have that answer just yet."
Meanwhile Bakugo was having fun dashing around doing his thing. He was trying to gauge what her quirk was. Some sort of wet stickiness that hardened into whatever she had wanted. One thing was for certain.
"You're not using your full power." He told Erity, figuring out what was going on. Her eyes widened. "I can tell by the sad look in your eyes, what a waste. Here I thought I finally might have had a worthy opponent. But you're all talk and no game. Just like the rest of these rejects." That seemed to make her mad. "Quit holding yourself back and fight me for real!"
"Fine." Erity sighed. She brought her first to the ground where there sprouted astounding amounts of thick goo on the outskirts of the playing field away from them and everyone else. "Just remember, you brought this on yourself."
"Shit." Aizawa muttered.
Bakugo gazed for a moment astounded by what was happening. "Bring it on." He said bringing out his Cheshire cat grin. He made the motion to propel himself forwards but nothing happened. "The hell?" He gazed at his hands, trying for a Spark. It took a moment before he realized what was wrong. He froze and gazed back at Erity.
"My quirk lets me turn sweat into solid objects and use them how I see fit. I can steal it from anyone I choose."
'She took my quirk from me?'
