Erity's pink colored hair whipped around in the wind despite having her white hair band in place, while her red eyes watched in sadness as everyone before her was bewitched by Emiko's quirk.
It was happening all over again.
Back when they first got their quirks it was hard for them to know how to handle it all. How to use it, what to do or not to do.
When Emiko developed her powers a little more she began testing it out on Erity. It worked for a while until Emiko had to leave, leaving little Erity confused.
When Erity broke the spell, Emiko cried out in pain. She never forgave Erity after that day. Ever since then she vowed to make Erity's life a living nightmare. She wears the necklace as a reminder.
Emiko with her purple colored hair and green eyes. She has already pleaded with Aizawa not to let her in back when they had been in the classroom when he'd asked her which one she wanted to go to.
"If it gets too bad I'll just use my quirk and erase hers, but just in case." He took the necklace and placed it around his neck and under his scarf.
It was nice to know Aizawa took her seriously, but it wasn't going to help.
Erity turned a corner only to stare directly at Emiko and her little band of followers the next morning. She was happy to see Katsuki was missing.
For the moment.
He was probably duking it out with the tree again. She smirked when she heard familiar noises in the distance. Classic Katsuki. She was seriously considering going over there for another sparring session just to take out her frustration.
'I scolded Katsuki for wanting to tussle all the time and now look where it's gotten me.' She sighed.
She most likely would be followed.
She didn't give a damn right now. Erity launched an attack straight off the bat when she got over there.
Bakugo on the other hand had noticed Erity's sudden change when Kirishima told them about the newcomers upcoming arrival. He no doubt woould have figured it out later if she hadn't said anything.
Ever the skeptic unless proof was there for him to see, Bakugo listened to what she had to say. Despite the fact that Erity had yet to tell him a lie, he wanted to make up his own mind himself. He despised hearing the judgments of others and then being expected to follow along. The fact that Erity let him have that option was a very important part of their newfound partnership.
The in-between part of the relationship where you wouldn't exactly call them friends, enemies, acquaintances or anything of that nature.
Bakugo gazed at Emiko for the first time and wondered how far a reach her quirk had. His head had felt a bit fuzzy long before the bus even got there. The first time he saw her, Bakugo was mesmerized.
He stood there staring at her go up the steps. When Emiko disappeared he was still gazing at the door.
"You good Katsuki?"
"I was just, admiring the view."
"Yeah, I noticed."
He sensed a bit of jealousy there.
When the fuzziness would still not go away a while later Bakugo reached for the necklace and put it around him. The strange feeling disappeared in an instant.
"Alright Erity, you win." He said to no one as he was alone in his room. "Ill wear it for now." He paused. "But this piece of crap jewelry is very ugly!" He simmered.
Next morning he saw all the dopey faces surrounding her and he noped it right out the door. Deciding to improve his skills instead.
Something zoomed past him shattering against the rubble. His head turned sideways to see Erity entering his space. She didn't even wait for an invitation.
Emiko's arrival had fueled her rage. The fury on her face spoke volumes to Bakugo. And so begun their fight with Bakugo propelling himself over to her with his blasts.
Wait…
"Aren't you forgetting to take my quirk?"
"No." She beheld him with her fierce gaze. "I'm not."
"Oh you beautiful spawn of satanic hellfire." Bakugo spouted the very first thought that popped in his mind. He caused a terrifying set of explosions behind him at the excitement of being able to fully use his quirk against her. "Leaving me with my explosions was a huge mistake." He surged forward.
"You're not the only one here who dreams of leveling up." She said evading his moves. Slicing into his knee with the use of her feet. "I came here to learn from the best! I'd always hoped one day we'd spar but I never imagined it would end up being like this." She managed to catch him off guard and get him in a cocoon. "If I take away your quirk all the time, how exactly does that help me get any higher?"
Katsuki gazed at her in awe before shattering his cocoon. He aimed a blast and fired and watched as it dashed straight towards her, he gasped and used a small burst to lift him into the air as his own explosion was repelled back at him. He managed to slide backwards next to her, they watched as it veered towards the wall at a terrifying speed and left a huge gash mark.
Having her right beside him Bakugo tried to be sneaky and set off a blast right there, Erity managed to shield herself and dodge away.
"You're not fooling anyone that way Katsuki, you can't exactly be very sly and discreet with your quirk being set off beforehand."
'I see a few things that need improvement, but she's managing to hold her own against my blasts.'
As he shot up into the air Bakugo blasted in circles around her, using his feet to stop him he went to do direct damage to her from behind, he wasn't ready to be slashed across the face by her using her feet again.
Perhaps he shouldn't have told her to do that.
"I want everything you have in your arsenal thrown at me, Katsuki, everything! And don't you dare tell me your howitzer is only used on your enemies, or that I might fail." Bakugo couldn't believe what he was hearing right now. "I know the risks, I know that I may lose. But I need to see it for myself. I have to try."
Katsuki only gazed back at her. She could see that he was contemplating that decision, almost as if he didn't want to. But he never said anything. Though he did back up quite a good distance away. He then began his motions into starting the move.
The air around her began to circulate, cold at first until Erity felt as if her very breath was being used to create this massive tool of destruction. Taking her hand she touched the whirlwind that surrounded her. "I'm inside the belly of the beast." She said. "I thought I'd be more afraid. But I'm not."
Erity was surrounded by her sweat which went around her in a circular motion. She rose to meet Katsuki in the opposite flow of how his Howitzer was rotating. She shielded herself just before the blows from the howitzer erupted. It may have stopped her from receiving most of the damage, however the knockback tore apart her armor and seared away at some of her skin while she was cast backwards into the wall.
"Look at you." Katsuki appeared through all the smoke "All beat up…" She glanced up to see him smiling. (It was the same smile he held when Koda decided to punch Deku.) "Eraser's gonna skin me alive when he sees the shape you're in." He very gently picked her up in his arms.
"Wait Katsuki." She said. "Not yet, I'd like to stay here with you just a little bit longer."
"Erity…"
"I tried Katsuki." She passed out after that.
Katsuki closed his eyes in thought. Somehow her reverse cyclone had dissipated part of his tornado. If she hadn't used any armor then there would be no doubt in Katsuki's mind that she would have been hurt worse than she was right now from the blasts. She took his Howitzer like a champ. He sat down against the rock, still holding her in his arms. "Just a little longer." He agreed.
