Bakugo really would have preferred Erity conscious during the moment she had asked for. Yet as he sat there gazing at her in his arms…he realized he needed to use the bathroom.
So he carried her back.
"This poor child looks like she was burned very badly." Recovery Girl was saying. "Tell me young man do you know what happened?"
"...We fought, she lost."
"How could you hurt such a defenseless young girl?" She whacked him with a nearby book.
"Have you no shame?"
"I gave her what she wanted, alright grandma? Ow! Besides that she striked first." Bakugo massaged his head. "And what do you mean defenseless? She put up one heck of a fight."
"I see." Aizawa said coming into the room. "And what might I ask, did this sort of damage?"
"Howitzer Impact."
"Say that again." Eraser used his capture cloth to bring Bakugo closer. "But to my face."
"I used Howitzer Impact." Aizawa was glaring angrily at him. "Like I told the doc here, Erity wanted me to use it, to get stronger."
"So you complied?"
"Obviously." He said closing his eyes in frustration only to open them halfway as if he was remembering that exact moment. "It was her words, the way she said them. Erity's conviction and her willingness at my use of it even when she knew she might fail. To you it may seem wrong but, to me." He glanced at Erity. "I could swear those were my own thoughts being tossed back at me. Like I was gazing in a mirror, but instead of seeing me I saw her. I was hesitant, yes but after hearing all of that…how could I refuse?"
"That doesn't make it any better. But I'm more impressed that she's still alive and breathing."
"You and me both." After a brief pause he asked. "So does this mean I'm under house arrest again?"
"As furious as I am with you, no rules were broken and you appear to be apologetic of your actions. Erity also seems to be keeping you in line somehow."
"We have been fighting one on one alot." He saw Aizawa's glare. "I was left without the use of my quirk for all our other matches. So you can stop looking at me like that."
"How many times?"
"Besides this one and that time we were matched up for the first time, twice."
"Are you kidding me? You've fought four times? Erity's been here seven days at least, ten days tops. There's no need to pick on her."
"I never said a word. All I did was give her a 'lets fight' look and in turn she took it the rest of the way. Although the first time I kinda missed my target and ended up almost taking her out, but I was walking away from that one when she fired her own shot back at me. Actually this fight that brought her here, she started, Erity was upset that that one chick from her old school showed up. I want even bothering her, she just showed up on my doorstep and let loose."
"I see, well thank you for throwing her under the bus like that."
"Come on Eraser, it's not like that. I was just telling the truth. In no way was I trying to rat her out."
"Go back to your dorm, and get some rest." Bakugo gazed at Erity. "She'll be okay."
"Will she? I'd hate to think I was responsible if something bad were to happen."
"I'll keep you updated."
"That young boy is troublesome. But he's grown quite a lot since his enrollment here. And I'm not taking about height."
"Yeah, I've noticed that too. Despite the fact that he tries to hide it from the rest of the world. He's turning into a fine young man."
"Why don't you tell him that."
"He has to figure that out, for himself."
"He needs to know someone's in his corner."
"I believe Bakugo already knows that." He said of Erity.
"He seems to have quite a soft spot when it comes to the girl, by the way he was talking about her. Now you go on and leave this to me. I've got some work to do."
—--
Bakugo left to go to his own room thinking about what would happen to Erity and if she'd be there tomorrow when he came across Emiko in the common room staring out the window.
She was alone.
He still felt the same as before.
Bakugo checked and found that the necklace was still on him so why then was he feeling like this?
Emiko turned to gaze at him just then. "Hi. I've been meaning to talk to you."
"I'm not into formality really, so excuse me if I sound like a jerk, but what do you want exactly?"
"I see you've been warned about me." Emiko said of the necklace. "But what if like to know what is your take on this?"
"I'm not sure yet. But what I do know is that on the day you came my head felt foggy, so when I put this on it stopped."
"You haven't taken it off since?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Maybe she's right."
"What if Erity is wrong? And is just jealous of my quirk? I get it, people flock to me and pay no attention to anyone else. She dislikes it and starts getting into fights with those people she once had as friends. But what she doesn't realize is, it's not my fault. My quirk gets stronger the more I feel a certain way. I can't stop it from happening." She was in tears. "It's why I came here, to gain more control. Anyway that's all I wanted to say."
Bakugo went back to his room contemplating on the recent events that happened. Mulling things over in his head, he decided to take things in his own hands.
He took off the necklace. He would discover things his own way. Like always. He went into the shower a while later to clean up, he wasn't aware that a small part of his hair had fallen out.
The next morning he went to see if Erity had woken up yet. But she was still out cold. She would understand what he was doing. And if not she would just have to suck it up.
He found Emiko in the same place she had been yesterday, still alone.
"I came here to say that I'm willing to hear you out and see what happens."
"What did Erity have to say?"
"Right now she can't really say anything. She knows the way I do things and should understand my reasoning."
"Just be prepared, you may end up in an all out battle."
"Fighting Erity is no easy task, I'll tell you that."
"You fought her already?" Emiko asked. Bakugo chuckled and showed his wild grin while staring out the same window.
"Many times."
"So you like fighting her then?" He didn't respond, he did turn and walk away though. "What? No goodbye?"
"I said I'm not into formality." Bakugo said again.
"Where are you going?"
"Training."
"Could we hang out some more instead?"
"Why? What could you benefit from talking my ear off?"
"I'd like to learn more about the future number one hero. I won't bore you with words I swear."
"I see. Trying to make me comfortable so you can swoop in when I least expect it right?"
"Not everyone's a shark. Some of us are labeled like one though."
Bakugo stood there for a moment realizing that he was going off of Erity's judgments. He had to stop thinking that way. "Fine Casanova, what is it you'd like to know?"
Emiko smiled. "Tell me what your favorite food is." And so began the series of many questions. Minutes went by, hours, he didn't find anything unusual or out of the ordinary going on.
"I hate to say it, but maybe Erity is just jealous about all this." He told Emiko.
"See I told you."
"You're not off the hook yet. I'm still keeping a very close eye on you."
"As you should." There was a moment of silence. "You know Katsuki, I kind of like you."
"Not you too."
"Erity already told you?"
"We discussed things. And if you know of her feelings why aren't you cheering her on instead of trying to compete for first place?"
"I tend to like you more than she does."
"I doubt that." Bakugo wasn't ready for Emiko to kiss him. As he felt her lips against his he should have stopped it right after it happened. But he didn't. Bakugo was frozen in time gazing up at Emiko. When his eyes focused on movement in the corner.
"...Katsuki."
Erity had stumbled upon them, her gasp caused them to break off the kiss. Bakugo looked away, but when he noticed Erity wasn't running away and still had that horrified look on her face he jumped to attention and went over to her.
"Erity."
"Katsuki." She glanced away.
"I'm not going to lie. That's exactly what you just walked in on. She took matters into her own hands and planted her lips to mine. It was a stupid and foolish idea that could have got her blown up, but she did it anyway."
"..."
"I'm not under a spell. As much as you'd probably like to believe that it's probably true. But it's not. It was a one time thing."
"I don't see why you should have to explain it to her." Emiko hoped Bakugo would give her some sort of reply but she was completely ignored.
"So if it's all the same to you." Bakugo continued coming closer. "We can keep talking about this or we can-"
"Not in here." She eyed him with malice. He started small mini flare ups in his hand. Grinning at her like a psycho.
"You know, Eraser thinks I'm bullying you into it and has asked me to cease fire." He looked at her seriously. "But I'm having way too much fun."
"You won't be saying that by the time I'm through with you." Katsuki opened up the sliding glass door. Emiko watched them run off after each other. The two of them seemed like a perfect match for each other.
Emiko didn't like that one bit.
—--
"Starting from now on there will be no more fights after sundown." Aizawa stated after finding the two of them and stopping the drama himself. "And I swear if you don't abide by those rules one of you will be transferred away to another school. Got it?"
"Yeah." They both mumbled.
"It's way too damned early for this."
