Seattle
It's night time in Seattle with all of the lights. In the city, on the streets, there's an old woman with a cart. Her dog is in it as she's taking a nightly walk. She looks down at her dog before looking up and noticing a high-speed chase going on. A truck is driving off with a bunch of cop cars on its tail. The woman watches them pass by as they're gaining on the truck. Someone dressed in black opens up the back, revealing to have a mask on. The truck had been stolen by bank robbers. "They're still onto us!"
His friend hands him a stick of dynamite and the first one lights it. "This'll slow 'em down!" He tosses the dynamite and one car swerves as the stick goes off. The one that swerved crashes into a pile of junk, spinning around to a slow stop. While the chase is going on, two hedgehogs stand on top of a tall building. They watch as all the cop cars go by them. Sonic tightens his shoes, Sophia adjusting her hair, which had grown about 2 inches. She also has on a purple blouse and blue jeans along with purple shoes like Sonic's (her mom spruced up some old shoes Sophia had as a kid). Sonic stretches as Sophia does some breathing exercises. Sonic jumps in place to ready his energy from his shoes and Sophia does a little tap dance. He cracks his knuckles as she cracks her neck. He does some air punches while she spins around doing a kick. He eats a chili dog before picking her up bridal style.
"Shall we, my Sunshine?" He smiles at her and she giggles a bit.
"We shall, my blue bear," She smiles back at him and he gasps.
"Aww, like teddy bear, but because I'm blue! Did you come up with that on the spot?" He nuzzles her happily and she hooks her arms around him.
"Robbers first, cuddles later," She reminds him playfully.
"At your service," He bows a bit before leaping off the building. He runs down to the street, Sophia hanging on tight as they go past cars on the road. Sonic makes flying noises and she laughs a little. "Watch out! Cuse me! Pardon me, coming through!" He comes over a taxi and they make it to the front of the truck. "Good evening, gentlemen," He announces as Sophia kicks someone to the ground. Sonic grips the top of the truck while kicking the driver out of the seat. "Mind if I drive?"
The driver hangs onto the door, screaming as Sonic takes the front wheel. "Um, Sonic, maybe I should drive? I have the actual license, remember?" Sophia asks nervously to him.
"Oh, please, please, please let me drive!" He begs her and she bites her lip. "You always drive your car," He points out to his girlfriend with a pout.
"Because I actually can drive around at home now!" She tells him and he gives her puppy eyes.
"I'll do anything, please?"
"Okay," She sighs in defeat at him. "You know I can't resist those."
"Yes! You're the best," Sonic tells her happily and starts swerving without warning. "Better buckle up!" She clings to the passenger seat at this, turning to him with an annoyed look.
"Sonic!" She protests before putting on her seatbelt.
"What? I did say buckle up."
She rolls her eyes at his statement. While Sonic makes a sharp turn, the robbers in the back stumble to the ground. One of the dynamite sticks falls onto the road and it goes off. A police car swerves to a stop. "How we doing back there?" Sonic asks smugly to the robbers while turning, making them hit a wall. "And now this way," He makes another turn and they hit the opposite wall. All the money that they stole starts flying away from the truck.
"Sonic! If you're gonna drive, at least drive carefully! The cops are gonna think that we stole the truck," Sophia warns him.
"Relax, everything's fine," He says in an assuring tone. "Whoo-hoo!" He hollers while continuing to drive down the street. There's a hostage in the back, duct tape on his mouth as he's tied up. Sophia hears his mumbling and gasps as she turns around. Sonic listens in to the man, but they couldn't understand him. "Oh. I'm sorry, we don't speak duct tape."
Sophia turns around and gently removes the duct tape from the mam. "What the heck are you two?!" He freaks out at them.
"Fear not, citizen," Sonic points at him. "We are the heroes you need and the heroes you deserve. The blue dawn that banishes the darkest of enemies, the pink ray of hope-"
Sophia turns around and screams. "Sonic, Sonic, the road!" She shouts in alarm and he looks in her direction.
"Holy crap!" He yells at the top of his lungs as he sees someone walking on the road. The woman comes to a stop as the three all scream. Sonic quickly swerves to the right to avoid her, Sophia slowly sighing in relief as she sinks in her chair.
"And you wonder why I always drive," She glances at her boyfriend. The hostage in the back continues screaming.
"Don't worry, don't worry! Nobody's gonna get hurt," Sonic tries to assure the man. As they continue to get chased, a bag of dynamite slides over and stops between the two hedgehogs. Sophia blinks as she looks down at it. "Huh. What are those?"
"Bombs! Bombs!" The hostage's eyes widen in alarm. "They're bombs! Those are bombs!"
"What?!" Sophia screams as she looks back at him and then the bag.
"Relax," Sonic dismisses once again. "They're not even lit. So I'll say again, nobody's gonna get-" The fuses ignite just as he says this, all of them yelping in alarm. "I was wrong! We're all gonna die!" The cops keep chasing them, but he keeps driving.
"Why aren't you slowing down?!" The man screams in a panic.
"That would require brakes," Sonic states as he tries to push them, but they're blocked by an unconscious body of a bank robber. Sophia pales a bit since they didn't have time to grab him, and they're not that strong to do so. Sonic stands up, balancing himself on one foot, using the other to hold up the bag of bombs. "Ahh, ohh. Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot!"
Sophia tries to blow out the fuses, to no avail. "Why don't you just let the police handle this?!" The hostage exclaims from the back.
"Because..." Sonic throws around the bombs and Sophia takes off her seatbelt, backing away from him.
"Watch where you toss those!"
"Anyway, that's not what heroes do!" Sonic tosses out all of the dynamite into a passing by garbage truck and then they all explode, scattering trash all over. "Thank you very much!" Sonic says while Sophia looks at him open-mouthed. "Please hold your applause!" He looks at his girlfriend and blinks. "Why aren't you applauding?"
"Really?!" She exclaims at him. "A garbage truck?"
"Either that or we all get blown up," He tells her and she sighs, rubbing a temple.
"Sonic, I think now is a good time for an out. We can just stop the car and explain everything, maybe it won't be so bad." Not that she doesn't have faith in him, but he also needs to learn to listen sometimes...
"We're fine! Like I said, no one got hurt."
Some trash falls on the truck and as he keeps driving, and then there's a small hissing sound. "Hey, ya hear that?" The hostage asks slowly as he listens. "There's one bomb left!"
"Uhh, uh oh," Sonic glances around for it as Sophia looks a bit panicked. He looks underneath the cubby while Sophia jumps towards the driver's seat and takes the wheel.
"Did you check under the seat?"
Sonic stands up while Sophia glances at him. "Of course I checked under the seat!"
"Sonic the Hedgehog, that better not be a lie! We are not getting blown up today!" She warns him and he turns around to her.
"Sunshine, I swear on my life I'm not lying."
Sophia continues driving as someone honks and she gets more nervous by the second. "Where is it?!"
"You are terrible at this!" The hostage deems angrily and Sonic latches onto the wire between him and the man.
"You know what? Your negative attitude is not helping anyone!" He speeds to the passenger seat to check there and then some flares came from his quills.
"It's in your spiky things!"
Sonic spins around and holds up the dynamite stick. "Ha! I never find anything in here!" He tosses the dynamite out the window...which then lands in the drainage pipe. "Drained it from down town!" He hollers, making some trumpet music. "I'll take over again, Sunshine."
She gets out of the seat, looking back as she doesn't see the bomb. "See? I told you no one would get hurt!"
Sophia doesn't see the bomb and looks back, hugging the seat again. "Sonic, look out!"
The truck is heading for an ice cream place, and he flinches back in alarm. "Holy sherbet!" He looks around since he can't hit the brakes and sees a tool box. "Oh, hello!" He takes a drill and lands on top of the truck. Sophia yelps again as she takes the wheel, looking up towards the ice cream place. "Don't panic! This is only a drill!"
He uses the drill and then speeds around the truck to remove all of the screws. Sophia looks out the window at the people up ahead.
"Everybody look out!" She screams and they turn to the truck, standing up immediately. As the truck starts to fall apart, everyone moves away except a little boy. Only the undercarriage is left, the hostage screaming as he slowly heads for the boy standing there. What's left of the truck thankfully comes to a stop in front of the boy, with no sign of Sonic or Sophia. The hostage breathes a sigh of relief and then looks to the boy, his ice cream falling off as he's in shock. Meanwhile, the dynamite from before explodes, creating geysers of water to burst out of the sewers. The bank robbers regain consciousness just as the police arrive to arrest them.
"No need to thank us, citizens!" The hostage looks up to Sonic standing on top of a building in front of the moon. Sophia is standing behind him as she doesn't look as satisfied as he is. "All in a night's work for...Blue Justice and Pink Liberty!"
Sophia just shakes her head, her arms crossed as her eyes close.
"You're terrible heroes!"
Sonic just laughs as he takes his girlfriend bridal style down the building and into the city. He speeds around the mess they made to get them back home. Sophia looks up at him while he's running and he looks down at her, noticing her angry look. "What's with the face, Sunshine? We stopped a robbery!"
"Yeah, but was it in the best way?" She asks him back and he gives her a sheepish smile.
"Admittedly, no, but it's still a win!" He exclaims happily and she just sighs at him. Ever since they started dating, sometimes it feels like he's acting...a little careless with how he does things. Maybe it's because when she became a hedgehog she became two years younger. She still acts just as mature as she did when she was a 17 year old human, but now it's getting harder not to think about her future as a whole...as in, what is she gonna do for a job? Being a hero isn't exactly a career, and she's not even in school anymore. She had no idea what she was gonna do now with her new life as a hedgehog. She does love Sonic, but she still feels like doing human things...
Angel: Someone asked in a review of my story of the previous film...to fix Sonic 06...
Yeah, um, no.
As broken enough as the game is, and while this might be...ambitious, I'll give it that, I also am probably not the best person to fix the story of that game. Mainly because it's already convoluted and confusing to the point where I wouldn't know where to start to even fix stuff. And plus, I've only written one game and it's a game that's underrated, but that one was easier to tackle. Sonic games are a different story because I don't know how to adapt them into a story...I don't have a video game system, and I could just watch a playthrough, but I don't know how to go about putting everything in any of the games into a fanfic. Might have something to do with the combat, same thing goes for Kingdom Hearts III, which was requested only because of Big Hero 6. It would be great if Sophia met Silver and Blaze, but I'm not sure if that game is worth all that.
Not to mention if I really start doing games from this franchise, I'd have to address the worst of the worst like Free Riders or Sonic Boom or Shadow the Hedgehog, which are definite skips. I don't think I need to add fuel to the hate Sonic 06 got by trying to 'fix' it, that game has a whole host of problems that wouldn't save it if I tackle writing it...literally, I would have no patience for that game because I would lose my mind just trying to watch someone play it for a fanfic quite honestly. And then there's the whole Sonic/Elise kiss thing, which is just cringe to me. No thank you, I don't think I'll tackle that game.
