OBI-WAN

Obi-Wan stood beside his Master and watched as Queen Amidala walked down the centre aisle of the ballroom, towards the head table. She was wearing a feathered, black gown with an elaborate headdress and she kept her eyes on the table in front of her. For one so young, she looked like she had weathered many a political storm.

Once she took her place at the table, all the heads then turned back to the archway where Thalia and the Governor were to enter. The people standing in from of Obi-Wan shifted in their place so they could see.

He raised his head slightly to see over them and his mouth fell open slightly when he caught sight of her. She looked absolutely stunning.

"Wow." Someone muttered beside him and he found himself nodding in agreement.

Thalia held her head high as she walked down the aisle, but every so often her eyes would scan the crowd as if looking for someone. She looked up again and her gaze eventually met his. Her gaze lingered only for a moment before she gave him a quick smile and turned back to The Queen. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Qui-Gonn glance down at him and he suddenly became very interested in the sleeve of his robes.

Thalia took her place beside the Queen who waited till the room was settled before taking her seat and the congregation obediently followed suit.

Throughout the proceedings, Obi-Wan remained silent for most of it, much to the interest of his Master.

"I could sense your anxieties from lightyears away, my young apprentice." Qui-Gonn said, pulling Obi Wan-out of his thoughts. "If there were any danger here we would sense it, and so would she."

"I know, Master." Obi-Wan nodded. "There's something that I can't put my finger on. In the future. Something terrible will happen."

"The force moves in mysterious ways. There is still much you have to learn about it. It's your job to navigate it with wisdom and care. Sometimes the force is speaking to us, and other times it's the Dark Side." Qui-Gonn said wisely and Obi-Wan looked around the room as he digested this information.

"In saying that. I've had word from the Jedi Council." Qui-Gonn continued. "A Bounty Hunter by the name of Moralo Eval has made his way into the vaults at the Jedi Temple and stolen a holocron with the names of the galaxies force sensitive children."

"How is that even possible?" Obi-Wan asked in disbelief. "The vaults are guarded…That can't have been a coincidence. The Bounty Hunter must have been looking for that holocron specifically." Obi-Wan said, running his hand over his chin in deep thought. "What does this mean?"

"It means that if he is working for the Sith, then these children are in grave danger. We must get to them before Moralo Eval does." Qui-Gonn said and Obi-Wan nodded before quickly turning to his Master.

"Master, doesn't that holocron also have the names of those force sensitive beings who help to locate the children? The Princess is on that list along with her Midichlorian count." He said and Qui-Gonn gave him a grave look.

"She is safe here on Naboo and I think it would be unwise to worry her with this information. I think our best option is to retrieve the holocron before it falls into the hands of the Sith." Qui-Gonn said and while he didn't necessarily agree with his Master, Obi-Wan also didn't want to worry Thalia unnecessarily.

"So, what do we do?" He asked.

"We tell her the situation, only what she needs to know and return the holocron. We know there is a child here on Naboo, we'll need her to locate it." Qui-Gonn answered and Obi Wan was silent.

Mr. E: I'm so glad you're enjoying the story so far! It's great to hear that you're getting in to it.

BrownEyedGirl87: Yes, I'm really happy that this story is going to be able to loop back to an older Obi-Wan. Thank you so much for your kind words, and there will be plenty of moments between the two of them soon as both friends and possibly more.
