This was a fun one. I really enjoyed righting this chapter mainly due to the sister that plays a roll in it. Plus some other stuff as well. Mostly foreshadowing, muhahahaha! But anyway, I hope you guys enjoy.
It was a bright new school day and currently Star Butterfly was in the bathroom getting ready for the day. The rest of the family had already left in Vanzilla, but Lincoln and Star preferred walking to school since, between the elementary, high, and middle school, the middle school was the closest to the house and they could always use their dimensional scissors if they ever got stuck in a jam or something.
So while the rest of the family left, Star was giving more time to get ready for the day. And Star was just about ready as she placed her devil horn head band a top her head. But when Star looked into the mirror, she found herself being…unsatisfied with her head ware. She wore that hairband nearly every day for over a year now and as much as she liked it, she figured she could use a change a pace.
Using her wand, she changed her headband to various head wear. A flower hairband, a pirate hat, A fez, a unicorn hairband, a 1940's fedora. None of them really felt right for Star. But finally, she had changed her hairband to a green one with cacti on it and smiled. "Ah! Cacti for the win!" Star said with satisfaction as she looked at herself in the mirror.
Star then heard knocking at the door followed by the voice of her best friend. "Hey Star? The ready yet?" Lincoln asked as Star smiled and headed towards the door to the bathroom and opened it up.
"Yep! Just finished!" Star told Lincoln with her trademarked giant smile. She then gestured to her cactus hairband and asked. "So whatcha think?"
"Going with something new huh?" Lincoln asked as he looked to the new hairband with a hand on his chin before nodding approvingly. "Not bad. It looks good on you." Star then gave Lincoln a quick hug for the compliment, but as she separated and right before they were about to head out to school together, none other then Lisa Loud came running past them and into the bathroom in a panic.
"Woah Lisa, you're still here?" Lincoln asked with surprise in his voice at seeing his genius sister both at home and not ready for school. "Whats up? You've been acting a little weird the last few days."
"Yeah, usually you and Lincoln are the first to get ready." Star pointed out, also finding this situation to be pretty strange. "Stay up late doing stuff~"
"Ugh, I don't have time for your games Star." Lisa said in an annoyed tone causing Star to frown and for Lincoln to narrow his eyes at his little sister disapprovingly. "I simply overslept from over stimulating my brain yesterday. I have to hurry and get ready for school before I'm late!"
"Relax Lisa, its fine." Lincoln said, still a bit upset at Lisa for her words to Star. "So you're late one day. Its fine, happens to everyone. If we hurry me and Star can get you to school just about one minute after the bell rings. Tops." Yes they could use their dimensional scissors to get her there instantly, but Lisa has made it clear multiple times she doesn't like involving magic in…anything.
"Not a big deal? I must ask you brother unit that you bite your tongue." Lisa said in her usual manner of saying things that made Star raise an eyebrow. "I have kept a picture-perfect record since my first day of preschool and I don't intend to lose it for anything. I want to make sure that everything about my education is perfect from grades to attendance."
"Whatever you say Lis." Star said with a shrug. She never really…got the 7-year-old genius. All that science, perfect grades, and junk like that. Plus, she had the sneaking feeling that Lisa didn't really like her or her magic. Something Star really didn't get as magic was so much fun and added a lot of spice to normal day life! Also, Lisa as the same time seemed really intent on trying to add a scientific explanation to her magic. Why would she do that? Its magic. That's all there was to it. "Are you sure you don't want even a little help?"
"I assure you; I can get just by without any 'magic' Star." Lisa said, her tone now showing a bit of irritation. "I prefer to stick with science and factual things to help get by with life."
"Whatever Lis." Lincoln said with an unamused tone at his little sisters' attitude. A smirk then came to the white-heads face as he thought of a way of joking around with the situation a bit. "You sure you don't want Star to help magic your way through this? How about it Star? Why not just stop time for her so she can get to school on time."
Star laughed a bit with Lisa growling a little in annoyance. She knew her brother was doing this to mess with your and she wasn't gonna have any of it. She would just ignore them, get ready as soon as possible and if she doesn't have any breakfast, she should barely make it to school on time. It would be worth it to keep her record perfect.
"Hehe, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah." Star laughed as she played along with Lincoln and started twirling her wand around. "Easy peasy time freezie." It was meant to be a joke. But suddenly a hologram of a clock stopped emerged out of Star's wand, taking the three off guard. "…What just happened."
"I don't know…" Lincoln slowly said as he looked around to see if anything was up. "Nothing looks messed up but…something just doesn't feel right."
"It might be that." Lisa was the one to point something out as she stepped out of the bathroom and pointed up at a clock on the hallway wall. A clock that was no longer moving. "Could it be…" To test out the theory in her head, she opened the door to her room and saw all of Lily's laser puppies stuck in motion. Some were frozen in midair; a few were shooting lasers that were stuck mid-shot. "You actually did it…"
"I did wha?" Star asked while scratching her head with her wand as Lincoln looked in the room and saw the frozen scene for himself.
"You stopped time you dunce! You actually froze time!" Lisa snapped at Star with a frown causing the princess to wince. "How in the name of science did you do that?!"
"Lisa! Cool it!" Lincoln scolded his little sister, making her wince. Lincoln rarely used a tone like that and whenever he busted it out, even his older sisters wouldn't argue back unless things were really intense. "Apologize to Star, now!"
Lisa shook at first, but managed to shrug off the feeling and give her usual stoic frown to Lincoln as she adjusted her glasses. "I repeat my previous question in a calmer manner." The young genius said, not giving an actual apology. Something that Lincoln wasn't happy at all with. "How did you stop time. And don't so magic."
"Uuuuuuuuh…" Star let out as she tried to think of a different answer she could give Lisa. Magic was pretty much or original and…only answer so now she was forced to think of something to tell the young genius. "…Cigam."
"…Did you just say magic backwards?" Lisa asked with an unamused tone.
"Maaaaaaaaybe…" Star let out with a sheepish smile. "But Lisa, that's the answer. Its magic. Magic is kinda me thang. I got a magic wand, a magic book of spells, and I come from a magic dimension. Its not that complicated."
Lisa let out a heavy sigh as she started rubbing her temple. "Oh for the love of Einstein…" Lisa muttered as she tried not to get a headache over this matter. "All this 'magic' as you call it all must have a scientific base. You, your descendants and everyone that uses it and calls it that just doesn't know what they're doing with it and call it magic. Its just ridiculous."
"…You're a real buzzkill ya know that." Lincoln bluntly told Lisa making the 7-year-old role her eyes. "Lisa, not everything has an explanation ya know. Somethings just are the way they and that's that. Why ya gotta read into everything so much? It just takes the fun out of it. Like explaining the details of a joke to someone."
"Exactly what I'd expect from a simple minded homosapien." Lisa said as she crossed her arms causing Lincoln and even Star now to grow irritated at the little genius. "We need answers to the unknown otherwise humans will never progress and we'd stay the same throughout our entire existence. And giving things explanations like "its magic" halt our progress."
"Whatever, I still think its fun having some things just remain a mystery. Why question good things after all." Lincoln countered making Lisa simply roll her eyes at how simple her brother was asking. "Well times frozen and that's that. It doesn't matter what the explanation is even thought its just magic." He'll admit, he said that last part just to get on Lisa's nerves. "Lets just get to school and unfreeze time."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait." Star said as a bit of a mischievous came to her face. She then grabbed Lincoln by his cheeks and moved his head so that he was looking right into her know sparkling eyes. "Lincoln…it's a Freeze Day!"
Lincoln's eyes slowly widened as he realized what Star meant and a giant grin then came to his face as the two best friends quickly took off running down stairs. "Wait! Where are you two going?!" Lisa yelled to them as Lincoln opened the front door.
"Where ever we want baby!" Lincoln said in a giddy tone as he was practically bouncing in excitement. "No one can tell us what to do now!"
"Yeah Lisa! It's a Freeze Day! We have all the time we want to do whatever we want!" Star explained with the same amount of excitement as her best friend. "Come on Lisa! Take the opportunity to have a bit of fun! We can do anything!" And with that declaration, Star and Lincoln took off and didn't give Lisa a chance to say anything else.
And so Lincoln and Star proceeded to have the best…day…ever! With time frozen and no one to tell them what they could and couldn't do, Star and Lincoln proceeded to do what ever they wanted. From going to the park and Star magicing mustaches on everyone's face from the babies to the adults.
Lincoln then went over to all three schools in Royal Woods and proceeded to give an atomic wegie's to all the bullies in all the schools. Even stopping by a different part of town to visit some old enemies of his, Hank and Hawk, and he and Star proceeded to both strip them down to their underwear and cover them in fake blood.
The two then went to the mall and proceeded to do what anyone would do in a mall that wouldn't face any consequences. Play and mess with everything there without having to pay. From playing tons of the video games from the game store, reading most of the comics in the comic shop, and having full access to the food court and its kitchens to make whatever they wanted to eat and have free refills. Of course, they did put everything back when they were done with it. Except the food and drinks obviously.
They couldn't help but play a few good natured pranks on their friends as well such as writing on Rusty's face with marker, putting a chicken from his farm in Liam backpack, Star enchanting Zach's tinfoil hat so it would transmit an alien language into his head when he wears it, putting ink on the rim of Clyde's glasses, and stuffing Stella's locker with confetti. They even scissored over to Great Lakes City and proceeded to pour a bucket of cold water over Ronnie Anne.
And they even had a picnic on top of a car in the middle of a freeway. Found Ludo coming in through a portal in the backyard with Star switching head gear with him real quick and Lincoln taking a photo. The two just had nothing but pure fun.
"Hahahaha!" Both Lincoln and Star laughed together as they came into the house with giant smiles on their faces as they planted themselves down on the couch. Time still unmoving as they saw Charles and the mailman frozen outside.
"Oh man, that was the best 60 hours of my life!" Lincoln said as he leaned back on the couch and letting out a delighted sigh. "Freezing time was the best accident you've ever made."
"Ditto." Star instantly agreed with Lincoln about everything he had just said. "This has been awesome Lincoln."
"Hehe, yeah…" Lincoln let out before stretching out his body. But they both eventually knew this would soon have to come to an end with Lincoln being the one to say. "Welp, I think its about time you, well, start time."
"Yeah I guess so." Star giggled out as the two stood up and headed upstairs. "So what do you think Lisa's been up to?"
"Not sure. Probably would have been a good idea to check in on her." Lincoln muttered with Star slowly nodding in agreement. They might have been having so much fun that they had forgotten to check in on and call Lisa to see how she was doing. "Eh, I'm sure she's fine. She's smart she can handle herself easily."
"Yeah, I just hopped she had fun during all this." Star said as she didn't want the genius to waste her time, metaphorically speaking in this scenario, trying to figure out how Star stopped time when she already answered the question. Magic.
But when they opened the door to her room…they saw that's indeed what Lisa has been doing.
Both teens eyes widened as they saw papers scattered through out the entire room. All of them either crumbled up or having some sort of scientific equation on it. "Why am I not surprised." Lincoln muttered as the two stepped into the room.
"Come on…come on…there has to be SOME explanation!" Lincoln and Star looked to see Lisa hard at work on her white board trying to make sense of Star's magic. "Einstein had theories of time travel. Maybe there's some connection. Dang it! That was due to wormholes, this doesn't have anything like that! Come on Lisa think!"
"Um, Lisa." Lincoln said, causing Lisa to get started all Lucy Loud style. Turning around, Lincoln and Star winced at seeing the genius's eyes both blood shot and constantly twitching. Probably from frustration.
"Lincoln?! Star?!" Lisa yelled as her eyes made an audible sound when she blinked. "How long have you two been standing there?"
"We just got here." Star said before looking around the room and letting out a sigh of disappointment. "Have you seriously locked yourself in here doing science junk the whole time?"
While Lisa didn't appreciate her work being called 'junk' the question did make her raise a brow. "Depends. How long as time been stopped?" Lisa asked, not having really kept track of how long time has passed for her and the only two others that weren't frozen.
"Bout two and a half days." Lincoln bluntly answered make Lisa's eyes widen.
"60 hours?!" Lisa yelled.
"Yep, and that's how long as this is going to be because we're started up time again." Lincoln told his 2nd youngest sister before taking out his scissors and opening up a portal. "Come on, time to go to school."
"Are you mad? You can't do that yet!" Lisa said as she put her hands on her whiteboard defensively. "I'm at the edge of real breakthrough! I can't stop till I figure this out!"
"Well let me finish it up for you. Its magic." Lincoln bluntly told Lisa before picking her up and holding her over his shoulder despite her struggles. "We're starting time, we're all going to school, and that's final. I can and will freeze you if I have to."
"To think, a perfect freeze day wasted." Star said with the shake of her head and a sad frown on her face. "Why can't people just learn to let loose and have fun every now and then?"
"That's Lisa Loud for you." Lincoln said with the roll of her eyes as Lisa narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms. "Come on, let's go." With that said, Lincoln, with Lisa in tow, and Star headed through the portal and found themselves at the front door of the Royal Woods Elementary School with Lincoln placing Lisa down as soon as the portal behind them closed.
"Can't believe you just pulled me away from my research like that…" Lisa muttered angrily as she faced away from her brother.
"Just deal with it Lisa." Lincoln firmly told his little sister who simply huffed in response. Lincoln sighed, looks like Lisa really hasn't changed all that much over the years. Lincoln then shook the thought away as he turned to the princess. "Alright Star, let's start things up in the universe again."
"Sir, yes sir!" Star said in a soldier voice while saluting Lincoln with her wand. This little act of hers caused her to break out in a series of giggles. "Ok, ok, ok, ok, for real now." Star then twirled her wand around before raising it in the air. "Easy Peasy Time Unfreezie!"
…
Nothing happened.
"Uuuuuh…" Lincoln let out as he looked up at the sky to see some bird's frozen mid-flight. "You sure you did that right Star?"
"Uuuuh, let me try something different." Star nervously said before clearing her throat. Star then twirled around a few times before standing on one leg and holding wand out. "Easy Peasy Time Unfreezie!" But once again, nothing happened. Everything was still frozen. "Uh oh…" Star let out as she poked at and looked at her wand to see if anything was wrong with it.
"Star, seriously whats going on?" Lincoln asked as the Loud boy soon felt himself worrying over the grim situation that they might have accidently frozen time forever. But when Lincoln looked to Star, she saw her frozen with a big smile on her face. "Star? Star! Not you to!"
"Haha!" Thankfully Star wasn't frozen as she then started laughing at Lincoln's reaction. "I'm just messin' with ya."
"To soon Star." Lincoln said as he face palmed at how he fell for that.
"Well, well, well. Looks like your little 'magic' wand can't fix the situation." Lisa said with a smug smile and tone that made both Star and Lincoln frown at the genius's attitude. "Now if you'll get me back to my research I believe I should be able to find a scientific solution to this."
Star huffed and frowned a bit, but her eyes quickly widened as her hearts turn to light bulbs. "Oooooooor…" Star let out with a grin on her face. "We could check my magic book of spells to see if there's something in it to fix this!"
"Hey yeah! That should work!" Lincoln quickly agreed with Star's plan. "That things gotta have a solution for just about any magic problem in it!"
"But, but, but…" Lisa let out but was to late to give her argument as Star quickly cut open a portal with her own dimensional scissors with the two teens quickly jumping through. Lisa could only sigh as, begrudgingly, head through as well.
Now in Star's room, Lincoln and Lisa watched as Star reached under her bed and pulled out the magic book of spells. " Okay, Magic Instruction Book, instruct me." Star then opened the book, only to find Glossaryck also frozen in time. "Oh, no, Glossaryck is frozen too."
"Why is he making that face?" Lincoln asked in a bit of a creeped out tone as Glossaryck was making a sorta…weird face as well as his hands making insensible gestures. Lincoln then reached out to turn the page so he wouldn't have to look at the little blue man anymore. "Maybe just…yeah."
"Ok let's see…" Star said as she began skimming through pages. "What to do if you make a dimension explode, what to do if you delete gravity…oooh…"
"Don't get any ideas." Lincoln quickly said as he saw the look on Star's page as she was looking through that particular situation.
"Heh-heh. Sorry." Star sheepishly apologized as she quickly skipped a few pages ahead. "Ah! What to do if you freeze time." Thankfully, and a bit coincidentally, she stopped right on the page they were looking for. "We can move time forward if we go to the Plains of Time and push the Wheel of Progress."
"What are, the Plains of Time?" Lisa asked with a raised brow. Even if she wasn't for all this magic stuff, she would admit that visiting entirely new worlds was exciting and offered the scientific chance of a lifetime.
"It says here it's the place where the universe essentially started." Lincoln explained as he read the page of the book. Lisa practically froze with the rest of the universe at the information. "It's the place where time started for the entire universe and wear it progress."
"Well looks like we know where we're going!" Star said with an excited tone and smile on her face as she took out her dimensional scissors and opened a portal with them. "To the Plains of Time we go!"
"The beginning of all time…" Lisa muttered, not even putting up any sort of resistance as Star pulled both herself and her brother through the portal.
And just like that, the four found themselves in the Plains of Time. The world was…strange to say the least. Sand clocks, some of them melting, covering the area. There was also a moving stream of water, a frozen waterfall, a giant hourglass, and a cuckoo clock.
"Woah…" Lincoln let out as he, Star, and Lisa looked around the new area they were in. "Talk about freaky."
"To think…" Lisa let out as she looked over the bizarre area with stars in her eyes. "Time itself all originates here."
"Now all we have to do is find out where the wheel of progress i-oh there it is!" Star soon found what exactly they were looking for and pointed to what looked like a human sized hamster wheel on the top of a sand hill. The three quickly ran over to the wheel and started looking it over. "Woah…"
"It looks like a large hamster wheel." Lincoln commented as he looked over the giant wheel. "Huh, what do ya know. Although considering everything I've been through so far, not to surprising honestly."
Lisa would disagree however. Both of her eyes couldn't help but twitch violently as she looked at the wheel. "So let me get this straight…" Lisa said as she tried not to completely lose it. "The only reason time itself exist and works…is because of an oversized hamster wheel."
"I know! Cute isn't it?" Star gushed as she looked over the wheel herself. "Now come on, lets get this thing moving!"
They…weren't very successful. No matter what they did the wheel wouldn't budge one bit. From Lincoln trying to his fire as a thruster or making the wheel slippery with his ice. Star trying to use her various spells only for the wheel to pretty much reflect all of them away. And Lisa well, she was still trying to grasp that time only existed because of a dang hamster wheel!
"Magic won't work on that." The groups eyes widen at hearing a brand-new voice and they quickly looked to the source. Sitting down in front of a rock was a tall, blue-skinned man with a long, pointed nose, big ears, pink lips, and a white beard that curls upwards. He wore a long-sleeved white tunic with bronze stripes on the sleeves, a rope-like belt, and a clock that hangs on a chain around his neck. "You gotta use the magic of toesies."
Star, Lincoln, and Lisa all gave each other confused looks as the man wiggled his toes around, clearing his throat Lincoln was the one to speak up. "Uuuuuum…" Lincoln let out as they watched the man stare at the rock. "Who are you exactly?"
I'm Father Time." The man revealed, his identity coming as a surprise to the three in front of him. "And this is Rocksworth." He then pointed to the rock right in front of him. "He's a rock, but don't bring it up. He's kind of sensitive about it."
"So…if you're Father Time then you must push this thing, right?" Lincoln asked as he, Star, and Lisa walked up to Father Time.
"Father Time…" Lisa let out as Father Time laughed and started running around the area. "He actually exist…there's actually a being responsible for time's existence…"
"Hey look! I'm over here!" Father Time laughed as he waved his arms around and laughed. He then took three steps to the laugh and waved his arms around again. "And now I'm over here! Hahahaha!"
"And how long you on the wheel?" Star asked as Father Time ran back to them and stepped stomping around in the sand.
"Oh you know. Forever." Father Time said as he remembered being on that wheel since, well, the dawn of time. Once he got on and started running, that's what allowed time to first go forward. "Until someone cast a freeze spell and knocked me off of it." Something then quickly caught Father Times attention as he pointed forward. "What is that?"
They then watched as Father Time ran over to a mud puddle and looked at it with sparkles in her eyes. "That would be a soft sticky matter created by the mixing of water and earth." Lisa explained in her usual scientific way. "Street name, Mud."
Father Time immediately falls face first in the mud and start playfully rolling around in it in a similar manner to Lana. "Oh, it's glorious! I love mud." Father Time said as he slathered some mud on his tongue, only to spit it out in disgust.
"So, Mr. Time." Lincoln awkwardly said as he and Star caught up. Lisa's eyes twitching due to essentially the God of time rolling around in mud like a kid. "How would you feel about getting the universe started up again?"
"Oh where as this been all my life?" Father Time asked as he continued to cover himself in mud.
Star hummed in thought as she tried to think of a way to get Father Time back on the wheel so time can go forward again. Star then grabbed some mud from the puddle Father Time was in and proceeded to slather it over the wheel. "Look! Now you can play with mud on you wheel!" Star said with a wide grin.
"Huh? Huh?" Lincoln tried to persuade as well as Father Time looked at the mud-covered wheel with narrowed eyes.
"Well, that is an enticing offer, but nah." Father Time denied making Star and Lincoln groan in frustration.
Just then Lisa walked up to Father Time with a pen and note pad in hand. "Father Time, if you may I would like to discuss with you various questions regarding the space-time continuum." The genius asked, eager to learn all the secrets about time.
But Father Time didn't seem to acknowledge the question as he looked forward and pointed with eager eyes. "Oh! There's some mud that's a slightly different color." Much to Lisa's frustration, Father Time quickly stood up and began running making her, Lincoln, and Star give chase. As Father Time ran he passed by and pointed out a bunch of objects. "And there's a twig, and there's a bush, and I-I don't know what that thing is, but it's waddling."
"Quake!" Let out a large goose with a clock around its body.
"Wait!" Lincoln called out as Father Time started leaping across the area. "You can't just leave time stopped!"
"Yeah! Without time, rainbows can't shoot across the sky! Glitter can't glitter!" Star added as they continued to try and keep up with Father Time.
"Please! Reveal to me the secrets of time!" Lisa kept asking for her own thing as she held onto her pen and notepad. "This could be a massive scientific breakthrough!"
"And more importantly!" Lincoln yelled with an irritated tone towards Lisa. "And everyone we know will be frozen forever!"
Father Time did eventually stop leading around, but only to stop in front of a large hourglass with a door on it. "Whats this?" Father Time asked in a curious tone as he touched the door. The door to the hourglass opened up to his touch with Father Time eagerly stepping inside.
Star, Lincoln, and Lisa managed to catch up, but it was right when the door closed with them unable to open it. "YOLO!" The voice of Father Time followed by his laughter got everyone's attention as they looked to see Father Time in the distance riding a big turtle that was moving at an incredibly fast pace. "Anything's possible!"
"We gotta catch up to him!" Lincoln said as the three started to look around for anything that could help them chase after Father Time and his speedy reptile. Star then pointed everyone to a giant rabbit with a clock around its heck. The trio then quickly hope onto the rabbits back as Lincoln tried to encourage to move forward. "Yah! Whoo-hoo!"
And the rabbit did start moving…at an incredibly slow pace akin to a normal earth turtle.
"I hate this dimension." Lisa deadpanned as Lincoln quickly picked her up as he and Star dismounted the giant slow lagomorph and began to chase after Father Time the old-fashioned way again.
The trio eventually found Father Time again and saw him playing in the water of river before swimming across the other side. "Ice Bridge!" Lincoln used his right hand to freeze the water in front of them and made them a bridge of ice for them to easily pass the river.
"I think he went in here!" Star said as the trio approach a large building with two giant hourglasses in the front of it. Climbing up the stairs, Lincoln, Lisa, and Star found themselves in a giant room with tv's spread all throughout the walls. Each of them depicting various moments in history. "Wow…"
"It's the history of the entire universe…" Lisa let out in a purely amazed tone as she looked over the various screens, even pointing a few out. "Look! The Battle of Lexington, the moon landing, D-Day, Paul Revere, Martian Luthor's I have a Dream Speech! And…wait…is that Abraham Lincoln on Mars?"
"Huh, what's with this one with Ben Franklin?" Lincoln asked as he pointed the two with him to a monitor of what looked to be Benjamin Franklin. But as they were watching, the three eyes slowly widened at what they say. "Well what do you know…he secretly was a woman."
Before anyone could comment further on anything on the tv screens, a giant eyeball descended from the ceiling and start looking at Star, following her movements. All of them were pretty freaked out at first, Star even pulling out her wand incase the eyeball was about to attack, but suddenly her attention was brought to the tvs as every single one in the room went to static…and then showed Star.
"It…It's me!" Star let out as the two Louds looked at the monitor Star was looking at and saw her as a baby. The tv's then showed different points of Stars life. From a young Star taking a carriage for a joyride with her father chasing after her, and young Star being taught how to swordfight by one of the royal guardsmen, the guard giving Star a proud look as she decapitated a training dummy. "Oh, I remember that!" The screens then showed what seemed to be a young Star as well as a young Pony Head stealing treasure from a cyclops, a young Star on the roof of one of the lofts at the castle watching fireworks, and even a 13-year-old Star and Pony Head wearing matching leather jackets and sunglasses, looking like punks.
It then showed rather recent memories of the princess's life. Star riding on a Warnicorn during the day she got her wand. Star in her armor during the High School football game, Star getting her spa treatment from Francine, Star flying into the sky with Jackie when she was going through Mewberty, Star attacking Princess Smooshy in her purple state, Star playing Card Wars with Lincoln, and then finally Star dancing with Jackie at the Blood Moon Ball.
That last memory made Star blush as her heart rate increased. She had first been mad at Jackie for just barging in on her night like that. But looking back on it now, Star wouldn't have wanted the night to go differently at all. Jackie holding her close, dancing beautifully around the large ballroom, looking into those beautiful mint green eyes. Thinking about it all just brought a smile to the princess's now red face.
And that's how she's been feeling about Jackie lately for some reason. Its like ever since the Blood Moon Ball, she's seen the skateboarder in a new light. Like whenever Star was around Jackie everything just felt…perfect.
Just then Star was snapped out of her thoughts by all the monitors in the room changing to pretty much show a reflection of Star in the present. "Oh! Its me!" Star let out as she waved to herself. "Hi me!"
"This place must keep track of everything we've done in our lives." Lincoln commented as him and Lisa looked at all the monitors that showed everything Star was doing right now. Just then the eyeball went from Star to Lincoln as the monitors showed various memories of Lincoln.
From past experiences such as a toddler Lincoln sharing a bath with Lynn. A baby Lincoln being fed ice cream by Lori. A 5-year-old Lincoln being shown how to play a toy xylophone by Luna. And Luan preforming as a clown for a 6-year-olds Lincoln's birthday part.
Then it showed some memories from when he was 11-years-old like when he tried to distract his sisters so he could get the TV for himself when a new episode for ARRGH was airing, him and Clyde going to their first Smooch concert with Luna, him and Clyde surviving out in the wild, Ronnie Anne throwing a pie at Luan after Lincoln had taken a whole bunch of the comedians April Fools pranks, him and his family singing Mr. Grouse a Christmas Carol, him, Clyde, and their old gym teacher doing a merry Irish jig, him and Clyde leading Hank and Hawk into Lucy's corn maze, his family going on their first vacation, and so much more.
Even some recent ones such as Lincoln fighting Ludo and his monsters using his powers for the first time, meeting up Ronnie Anne again, going through Quest Buy with Star and Leni, him and Hekapoo riding the roller-coaster at Dairy Land, and checking out the statues of queens on Mewni.
"Wow…" Star let out at seeing the numerous memories of Lincoln. "You sure have been through a lot."
"Hehe, yeah." Lincoln said as he felt an incredible amount of nostalgia at seeing all these past memories. "I guess every day was an adventure."
Star then giggled and looked back to the monitors…and saw some different moments of Lincoln's life. Lincoln waiting on his sisters and making sure they had a good time at a campground, helping Leni try and get her drivers license, Lincoln taking Lori's shift at her job so she can go to a dance, taking a sneeze for Leni when everyone in his house sick, helping Lori out as her golf caddie, helping Luna book gigs as her bands manager, Lincoln and Luan working together at birthday parties, protecting a secret of Lucy's, Lincoln and Lana playing video games together, Helping Lola learn how to read, and various moments of Lincoln taking care of Lily. "Aaaaaw." Star gushed at seeing how good of a brother Lincoln is.
"What? What're you watching?" Lincoln asked as he looked at various other monitors.
"Look at you." Star said as she directed Lincoln's head to the monitors she was looking at. "You're a big softie."
"Hehehe, yeah…" Lincoln let out sheepishly, his cheeks an embarrassed shade of pink at Star seeing all his brother moments. Lincoln then walked away from Star and took a look at some monitors near the back and…was confused.
"What the…" Lincoln let out as he saw some presumed 'memories' that didn't make sense as he never remembered them happening. One of them involved a woman with braided hair yelling angrily, a short woman in a dress that seemed to be having a temper tantrum, a woman with long lavender hair cooking.
But it was the final screen he looked that left a strong impression on him. It appeared to be a woman with extremely long pink hair with her face being a bright red.
There just seemed to be one problem with these 'memories' and that was…
"I don't remember any of this." Lincoln muttered. Looking to the other monitors in the room, all of them depicted stuff he could remember or some what recall. But these…he doesn't remember a thing about them or the women shown. So why…do they feel so familiar in a way he couldn't describe. Especially that last one.
But before he could question or look more into it, the screens went to static.
"No wait!" Lincoln said in a plea to look at what the monitors were previously showing again.
But it was a fruitless effort as the screens then regained picture to show…Lisa.
"Me?" The young genius questioned as the monitors showed memories of her studying and preforming experiments.
And more studying…and more experiments…and even more studying…followed by even more experiments.
"Booooooring." Star let out at seeing Lisa pretty much doing the same thing her whole life.
"Star!" Lincoln yelled to the blond in a scolding tone.
"What, its true, look." Star gestured to the monitors of Lisa just doing the same thing over and over again her whole life. Yeah there were a few breaks in the pattern but most of the time it involved family chaos and not Lisa by herself. It just seemed…repetitive.
Lisa…couldn't help but agree. Normally she considers that science should go above all so that humanity can move forward. But seeing how little she's actually done with life as a whole, especially when comparing to all the experiences and adventures Star and Lincoln have gone through just made everything before seem…hollow.
And then she saw a recent memory that made her cringe a bit. Her and Lola at Mewni. The truth behind that experience was that it was Lisa who had messed up. Her and Lola managed to track down a unicorn and Lisa was quickly the one to think of a plan to catch and study it. But Lola, being the 'unicorn expert' she claimed to be quickly went in to try and tame it.
And it actually…worked. Lola was able to approach the Unicorn and claim on its back and ride it…until Lisa showed up. She quickly came in rushing that they had to study the creature which caused the unicorn to freak out and drag Lisa and Lola through the woods.
Her scientific curiosity leaving her with a failure.
"Hey, guys!" The voice got everything attention as they looked near the entrance of the building they were in and saw Father Time playing with a spring door stopper. "Isn't this place incredible? It's like we're living in the future."
"Father Time!" Lincoln called out to as he ran towards the blue man with Star pointing her wand at him.
"Emerald Snake Strike!" Star fired out her spell at Father Time…with Lincoln in the crossfire.
This left both Lincoln and Father Time tied up in emerald colored snake. "Great. I think we got him." Lincoln said in an unamused tone as Star and Lisa quickly removed the snakes from them. "Okay, buddy, let's get you back to your wheel."
Lincoln, Star, and Lisa then started leading Father Time out the building only for the giant eye ball to halt their progress as it came down in front of Father Time. Everyone then saw as the monitors showed the memories of Father Time.
Him running and the wheel…and running…and running…and running…and running some more.
Star, Lincoln, and Lisa looked at each other sympathetically as they witnessed Father Time becoming more depressed over time from constantly running on the wheel. "Ah, all right." Father Time relented with a sad smile on his face. "I guess I'll get back to doing that. Oh, well, it's only for all eternity."
Lincoln sighed as Father Time walked out, heading towards his wheel, with the Loud boy saying. "We can't just make him."
"Perhaps there's another way to turn the wheel." Lisa suggested as she put a hand to her chin and looked around for a possible solution. Just then both Lisa and Star witnessed as Father Time petted a couple of giant time hamsters as the two girls looked at each other. "I believe I have a solution."
"You read my mind Lis." Star said with the snap of her fingers.
A few hours later and Star had suited up Father Times wheel to act like a carriage that would be pulled by Time Hamsters. Father Time was sitting on top of it holding the reins and an excited grin on his face. "Not was I thinking but ok." Lisa said as she was thinking having the masters on the wheel but whatever works she guessed.
"Aww, thanks, guys. I owe ya." Father Time said to his new friends as now he could go wheever he wanted and keep time moving. "Please help yourself to any of my mud. Even the nice stuff."
"Uh, we're good." Lincoln sheepishly said as they looked to a pile of various muds all mushed together with name tags over the pile, labeling the various muds.
"Oh, and maybe don't freeze time again. It's kind of fragile." Father Time warned the kids who nodded in response. "You don't want to break it. Know what I mean? Well, so long!"
"Wait! Before you go!" Lisa said as she looked up at Father Time, pulling out her notepad and pen. "I have questions!"
"Eh, look kid, I'm just gonna tell you this." Father Time interrupted Lisa, making her raise a brow. "I have a good idea about what you're about to ask and no answer I'll give you will be satisfying. Time and all that biz, it's a lot simpler than you think it is." Lisa was rather surprised by what Father Time told her as the immortal being kept talking. "And hey, maybe not knowing is better than knowing. The universe is filled with tons of unanswered questions. Why do we exist? Where did magic come from? Why do dudes have nipples? There's just no way of explaining any of that but that isn't a bad thing. The unknowns make life fun and mysterious. What's the point of living if you know everything that's going to happen?"
"I…guess I never thought of it like that." Lisa quietly admitted, putting away her notepad and pen.
Father Time smiled at the girl before saying. "Hey, chin up kid. You still got a long road ahead of ya. But maybe put down all that science stuff every now and then. If there's anyone who knows how repetitive doing one thing over and over again can be, its me." Lisa didn't say anything, but give a small nod. Father Time then waved to the three before him and said. "Well, see ya later guys! Time Hamsters away!"
The three then watched as the hamsters pulled the wheel and Father Time away, starting up time again. "Welp, better get to school now." Lincoln said as he took out his scissors and opened up two different portals with them. "Alright Lisa, the one to the left is portal to the Elementary School, we'll see ya later." Lincoln said as both Star and Lincoln waved to her.
"Byyyyyye~" Star waved off as she stepped through the portal to the right.
"Bye, and hey Lincoln." Lincoln turned to look back at his genius sister and saw her giving him a small smile. "Thanks…"
Lincoln was a bit surprised, but then smiled back and nodded before going through the portal leading to the middle school. Lisa then looked to the portal that was still open and let out a sigh, thinking about everything that's happened recently, before stepping through the portal.
Yep, Lisa was the main sister for this chapter. Me and Petrus thought she would be perfect for this episode and I think it turned out pretty well! Also, curious to see who can spot the foreshadowing in this chapter as its something I'm really hyping myself up for and I'm excited about.
But anyway, remember to fav, follow, leave a review and stay tuned for...
