If there was one thing Bakugo wanted to do right now, it was to go where no one could see him and rage. Take out his anguish at what had transpired over the past few months.
But…
He balled his hands into fits and put them in his pocket. He wasn't the only one who was suffering.
"Erity…" He whispered, he looked downcast at the ground. "What do I do dammit?"
Bakugo wished he could get Erity interested in a sparring session. However, because things between them had veered way off course, sparring with her wouldn't help. Their hearts would continue to grieve. He had to find another way.
But what?
As he stood there watching her sit upon the bench. He saw the sadness in her face. And when she turned to look at him. His heart dropped.
Right now she was asking herself if what had gone on between them up on the roof was a lie.
She didn't have to say anything. He could see it. Plain as day. Bakugo understood how she felt at that moment.
They were two lost souls trying to find a way back to mend. But the process to climbing the ladder had been broken.
It was then that he had an idea. "I found something you should see." Bakugo said. He saw a slight hesitation, yet she did get up to follow him. It got dark so he used his quirk to light the way.
Glancing back he saw that her eyes were still focused on the ground. "I found it by accident." He said moving a rock out of the way and going inside the gap. Making sure to put the rock back after Erity came through. Still using his quirk to light the way. "Besides myself you are the only other person to see this." He stopped. "And I intend to keep it that way." He let his explosion soar up and die out.
The darkness was suddenly lit up by several blue and green lights upon the ceiling and walls. Somehow helped out by the moon's appearance. Bakugo heard her gasp aloud. And saw the wonderment in her eyes "Wow." She smiled.
A small start, but was progress, he didn't just want her to be a little happy, he wanted her to be herself again. They stayed just a bit longer before Bakugo got another crazy idea.
It was crazy. But would he do it anyway? Hell yes he would. "Come with me." He took hold of her wrist and brought her outside where he put her on his back. "Hold on." He made sure she got the hint before taking off into the sky.
It was strange having someone on his back. He felt her nuzzle herself into him like she was freaked out over the way he was zooming around in the air. So he steadied his movements. "If you thought the view on the roof was something. You should see this."
"Whoa." She gasped. He dashed around some more when the sound of laughter hit his ears. He looked up at her then. Their eyes met. He smirked up at her. Erity clutched onto him just in time as he started to spin around in circles which brought on more laughter.
Bakugo felt her change positions, to where she was standing on him. He took great care into keeping his balance as he rose up higher into the sky, he had a feeling he knew what was coming. Erity jumped off him at that moment. And he dove down to catch her. He grabbed hold of her waist with right arm and steered with his left towards a large patch of ice.
Still holding onto her back, Bakugo used his quirk to spin around in circles with her against him on the ice. Erity arched her back and spread her arms wide.
They continued to do this until Erity's back felt it could no longer handle the pressure. About that time Bakugo stopped using his quirk. Their gazes fell on each other then.
"Katsuki…"
"Huh?"
They were so close to each other
"...You can let me go now."
"Oh." He forgot he was still holding onto her. He put his hands in his pockets and started to walk away.
"Where do you think you're going, explosion boy?" Erity said.
Bakugo froze, he gazed back at her eyes widening as he saw her move into a fighting stance. That devilish smirk of hers, the bloodlust in her eyes. "Now you're just asking for an ass whooping." He matched her smile. "All you had to do was ask. I'll smack you so hard you won't be able to sit down for a week!"
"Just a week? Come on Katsuki. You could do better than that." She smiled. "In fact, I dare you to try."
"Do you?" He said getting into a fighting stance of his own. "Well then." He paused. "Challenge accepted!" She managed to jump away. "Get back here!"
Erity giggled. "Aww what's the matter? Am I too fast for you?" Katsuki used his explosion to rocket over to her, she almost hadn't seen him until he was right on her. "You're not fast enough."
"And you." She whispered his name. "Have no quirk."
"Oh, when I catch you, you are so dead."
"Promise?" They smiled at each other. They weren't fighting to win. Although neither would admit it, it was more just playful banter. With Erity slowly letting Katsuki think she was catching her. And with Katsuki trying to act like she was just out of reach.
"I won't make that a promise." He said "But what I can promise is this." Erity had her back pinned to the wall. He was hovering over her. "Our battles will not cease for anything or anyone. I refuse to let that happen ever again. And I never meant for things to turn out the way that they did."
"I know." Erity saw him start to break down.
"I tried so hard to fight against her. But her power was too strong. The way I treated you was so unfair-"
"Katsuki-"
"No Erity, let me finish." He said without an angry tone. "The only way for me to move past this and to get some closure is by talking my way through it. I only need you to listen."
"I can do that." She smiled. He continued.
"You forced yourself to stand there, where I could see you. Where I'd have to pass by. I tried so many times to reach out. I could use my eyes though, and although you were standing tall from behind, I made sure to gaze back at the window, every time"
"..." Erity never watched him. She had always kept her head down.
"I saw how hard it was for you to stand there. Silent, not daring to talk for fear I'd give you another dose of my Howitzer." He exhaled and put his hands against his face letting them drift up to his fake hair. He turned around and walked a few places before returning in front of Erity again.
"I can't believe Emiko airing out our drama in front of everyone else like that. It was so embarrassing. I don't know what happened with that. We tried every trick in the book."
"Your mind may have been fooled into believing those things, but your body knows what it wants. It did not betray you. It just wanted something else."
"Remove your wig"
"What?"
"I want to see."
Erity took off her wig, feeling a bit self conscious as she did so. And glanced elsewhere. She heard him gasp and turned to see the awe on his face.
"Let me crack an egg on your head."
"I-What?" Erity asked amused.
"I want to crack an egg on your head and see if I can cook it without it falling to the floor."
"Excuse me?"
"It's on my bucket list."
"Cracking an egg and cooking it on a bald person's head?"
"Yeah I know, it's stupid."
"Guess I could humor you, I suppose."
"You being serious right now?"
"Let's go Katsuki."
"On it."
"Can we do it somewhere privately? Like that underground room you showed me, or something?"
"What's the matter? Don't want an audience?"
"Well, no not really."
"Suit yourself." He took out a carton of eggs. "Here."
"The whole thing?"
"What's the worst that could happen?"
