AN: I do not own The Lost Boys.

Note: I have decided to do this chapter for mostly Lucy. I think she deserved some screen time.

Chapter 13 - Other Characters

(Lucy)

It was hard being a woman. It was hard being a mom. But it was even harder being a single mom with just one child. But for Lucy Emerson it was five children in her care. Four beautiful teen girls and a teen boy. All in the middle of turmoil. First it was the divorce for Michelle and Samara and herself. She was trying to be strong from that. Then the girls brought home Cassandra. Followed by Maria. And then young Alan. She pulled these even more troubled and lonely children to her bosom and loved them. But now Lucy was crumbling.

Everything was caving in around her. The betrayal from her husband, the man she dearly loved. Then the divorce where he did not even try to have partial custody of their children. He broke their children's hearts and that hurt Lucy all the more. It added salt to the gaping wound in her heart. Her children were her life and to have someone, especially their own father, to hurt them like that... She honestly had no words, her grief and hurt was so strong. For 23 years she had devoted herself to Johnathon Emerson. She had moved away from her family and stayed away from them for years. Missed time with her mother when she had gotten really sick from the cancer. All because she was a devoted wife to Johnathon. She kept the house, herself, and the children immaculate. Made every meal from scratch. Even made her own clothes sometimes.

Lucy just did not know where she had gone wrong. But the more she thought about it, she realized that it was not her. It was all Johnathon. He had not been as devoted to her and she had to him. He had not loved her as she had loved him. He had not been as loyal she she had to him. He was a selfish, conniving, self-serving, and conceited man. He did not have a loyal bone in his body and Lucy had no doubt in her mind that Raquel was the first woman he had stepped out on her with. She also had no doubts that he would step out on Raquel with a younger woman as well. Once a cheater, always a cheater. He would do it again. She also believed, better yet she had a gut feeling that it would not be long before Johnathon either tried to call or even came to Santa Carla because he wanted his family back. Well too bad. That was not going to happen. Lucy would never go back. And after what he done to the children; the girls would never want anything to do with their father either.

And this was just the beginning of Lucy's worries. Not only had she almost tripled the amount of children she had in her care, her family's home burned from arson, but she also had a bad feeling about Max. He had started off so charming and debonair. A perfect gentleman. A caring and sweet individual. But deep down Lucy's senses were screaming at her to keep him at arms length. Be civil just because he was her employer. There was something she just could not put her finger on that was really making her weary of Max and his advances. He had said he only wished to be friends. A confidant that she could be comfortable enough with to share her concerns with. But she just couldn't. It felt so wrong. He and so many other men made their advances towards her.

Lucy knew that she was a very attractive woman, especially for her age. She was relatively young at just 39 years old. She had married very young to Johnathon. 16 years old to be exact. But that did not mean that she was stupid. Most men were not looking for a full relationship and even more so they did not to take on the children from previous relationships. None of the men here in Santa Carla made her comfortable. Well. But Jerome. He was such a jovial man. He was from Shreveport, Louisiana. A man of mixed ethnicity. They had talked extensively about himself and herself. He moved to California when his sister got really sick. The Café had originally been her place. Their father was a Creole and their mother was a white Southern Belle.

To put it bluntly Lucy was quite enamored by Jerome. He was so patient and kind. He liked children and already was helping care for her girls after the fire. They had already established a rather lovely friendship and as of recently he had asked Lucy to dinner at his home. He preferred to cook instead of going out to restaurants. He had quite the extensive collection of French, Creole and Cajun recipes. And Lucy wanted to try them all with him. She felt almost like a giddy school girl in his presence. It was all so fresh, so new, so exciting. She had not even felt this way about Johnathon.

She felt bad for Max but she was not going to give in to him out of pity. It was time for her to do something for herself. And Jerome was the way she was going to go. Her girls were all growing up and had relationships of their own. And with the way they were all progressing she would be planning weddings in the not so distant future. It was just a matter of time.

(Father Abraham Van Helsing)

The time was coming close. Abraham continued to train and mentor Edgar Frog to do his bidding. He was just as malleable as he had been in his previous life as Jorge. He would have preferred to have the set of the Frog Brothers. But alas, the younger brother had a much stronger mind than he had anticipated. He was not as easily swayed as his elder brother. It could not be helped though. He would still gather followers to his cause. He had already reached out to the comic writer of "Vampires Everywhere" and he was coming with several associates. Father Abraham would gather his forces to take on the Vampire and Siren scourge of Santa Carla.

It was sad that he would have to snuff out the lives of the young ladies but it was for the greater good. As a priest he would do everything he could to save their young immortal souls from the devil and his walking undead minions.

(Alan Frog)

He could not explain it but Alan felt off. Something was going to happen. It worried him. Ever since Edgar had disappeared Alan had felt all wrong. He knew that it had something to do with Edgar. He and Edgar were very close. They just knew when there was something upsetting the other. He had felt upset randomly, he had felt fright, sadness, guilt, regret, etc. And he knew all those feelings came from Edgar. He felt so helpless for his brother. He loved Edgar and wanted to get him help. He wanted to speak to Miss Lucy and Grandpa about it before he spoke to Cassandra. He knew Cass would understand. He just wanted a little guidance from people had more experience on what to do. It hurt so much that Edgar was doing this and he couldn't help him.

AN: Just a little chapter on other characters. I'm trying to tie some of the background characters together with the rest of the story.
