AN: I do not own The Lost Boys.

AN: Sorry, this is late, but I had almost finished then it suddenly was deleted. All that work down the drain. It made me a little discouraged, but I am back to make another one.

Chapter 14 - Edgar Frog

His mind was in turmoil. Everything was wrong. He was wrong. But why was he wrong? Why was this happening? Who was this Jorge really? How and why was he in his head? Edgar had asked Father Abraham. And his only response was that sometimes the Lord brought those from the past to the future to help right the wrongs. That did not answer his question fully but did incite even more questions. But Edgar knew he would not be allowed to dwell on it too long. Jorge would force his way to the forefront and take over his body until he was ready to give control back over to Edgar. Until then Edgar was forced into a small corner of his own mind and would have to watch the turmoil that Jorge wished to inflict on Samantha and his sister. He had been a witness to Aunt Maureen's death. He had been just watching as Jorge killed the poor woman. Father Abraham had not even lifted a finger to stop him. He had prayed for Aunt Maureen's soul though. But that did not excuse anything.

Jorge was currently asleep in his mind. As long as Edgar did not do anything to get hurt or severely heated then Jorge would stay asleep. He really wanted to speak to someone. Ms. Lucy was whom he needed to speak to. She was a kind and understanding woman. Maybe his sister. He did not know. He wanted help. He needed help. And he would not receive it here with the father or any of the people here gathering to kill his sister, Samantha, or the guys. With an aggrieved sigh he took off in search of Ms. Lucy.

It took almost thirty minutes for him to reach the boardwalk from the old hospital. The Santa Carla Sanitarium had been a destination for the sick back in the day before the earthquake. When the quake hit and destroyed the Hotel, the Sanitarium's clientele dwindled significantly until they had no choice but to close. Edgar felt by being there it gave Jorge more power over him. He hated being there. He just wanted to go home, back to the comic store and his brother and sister. He wanted help. And Ms. Lucy would be the best person to help him get the medical help that he needed.

He made his way to the Cafe that his sister and Samantha worked. He just wanted to see her. Cassandra had always been there. She had been more of a mother than their own. This whole situation hurt him. His soul cried out. He peeked in the window and saw Samantha taking orders and saw Cassandra handing a cookie to a small child. There was Ms. Lucy as well. She was telling the girls bye and moved to the door with a to-go cup. Probably coffee. When she departed the establishment, he called her from the alley.

"Hello?" Lucy called out from the alley entrance.

"Ms. Lucy please." Edgar said as he showed himself.

Lucy looked afraid. She was terrified. Edgar looked broken and that is what made her stop from running. She was a mother first and foremost. And that was the look of a child distressed and in need of help. In need of a mother's help and understanding. She moved forward and the boy crumpled.

"Please Ms. Lucy. I need help. There is something wrong with me. I hear voices. They tell me to do bad stuff. Father Abraham won't let me get help. Please help me." he was desperate, "Before he comes back out."

"Mom?!" Samantha said from behind her suddenly.

Lucy turned to see Sam. She had her keys in her hand. Her face was a mask of fear. Her body was literally trembling so hard the keys were jingling.

"Don't you dare scream Samantha Lynn!" Lucy ordered, "Get Cassandra."

Samantha hesitated just a second before she fled to the cafe. Sam did not reappear. Cassandra did appear though. She moved into the alley and confronted her brother. Her face showed her concern. Then there was anger. She did not know whether to be angry first or concerned. But the concern won out. She enveloped her brother in her arms. Edgar broke down in hysterical sobs. Lucy herded the two over to her vehicle. She was going to get the boy to the hospital.

It took her a few minutes to get to the hospital. Cassandra held her brother tightly as she helped him into the hospital. They were met by a nurse and Lucy explained the situation. The nurse led them to the mental health ward. Edgar gave his consent to be committed and Cassandra as his sister signed papers to have his decisions taken from him. She made sure to sign papers to not allow anyone but herself or Lucy to be allowed in to see him. NO-ONE! The police were still called as was the law. But the doctor would not allow them to take Edgar, the boy needed help and being in jail would just make it worse. He was obviously in no capacity to be in the general population. He would be a danger to himself and others.

After the police left the doctors began to run a battery of tests on Edgar. Cass and Lucy stayed all day and through the night. When the results came back Edgar was dehydrated, malnourished, had the beginnings of pneumonia, a bacterial infection, and had split personality disorder with bipolar schizophrenia. He was very unwell both physically and mentally. He was mentally unstable and with Cassandra's permission and Lucy's, Edgar was on a helicopter being flighted to a Health Care facility in Sacremento where he would get the care, he needed for everything. And a plus for Lucy and Cass was that he would be away from Father Abraham.

When they got back to the boardwalk Lucy left for her place and Cass went into the Cafe. It was very early morning, and the sun was still down. No sooner did she lock the door behind her did Dwayne's arms envelope her. She turned in his arms and buried her face into his chest. Her sobs echoed around the cafe. Everything came crashing in on her. Her little brother had not done any of it on purpose. He was mentally unwell. He was a victim of Father Van Helsing's manipulations. Her poor little brother. It hurt her so much that he had been so unwell, and she had never seen it. She had not gotten him help before. Dwayne held her close and carried her upstairs to their room.

(Lucy)

God knew what he was doing when he made woman. Giving her the compassion, love, and strength. But sometimes in these instances she did not feel strong enough. Another wayward child had come to her in need. Run to her arms for her strength, her love, and compassion. He needed help and he came to her. Now his brother would need her when she told him about Edgar.

"Lucy. Where have you been?" Grandpa asked her.

"Where's Alan?" she asked with a tired smile.

"I'll get him." Grandpa said and left the room to get Alan.

Within a few minutes he returned with the boy. Alan was happy to see her but that died when he saw the weariness in her eyes and how tired she looked.

"Alan, it's about Edgar." She started.

Alan felt fear for his brother. Lucy sat him down and told him everything. Edgar was now in a facility getting help for his illnesses. He would be taken care of. They didn't know if he would ever be able to get out but for now, he would be where he needed to be for his own peace and health and for the safety of others. He felt a great weight lift from him. His worry for Edgar was now at an all-time low. It was one thing he did not have to worry about anymore. He had a sense of peace now.

AN: Apologies for the lateness and the shortness.
