AN: I do not own The Lost Boys. Also, I would like to apologize for the naming mishap in the previous chapter. I had not noticed that five times my auto-correct had changed Samara to Samantha. I am so sorry for any confusion this may have caused. Let me know if I have missed any others.

Chapter 15 - Blue Moon

A few weeks had passed since Edgar had been admitted into the hospital. A story had been run on him on the news. He had given up the hiding place of Father Van Helsing and his supporters. They had escaped of course. The police had just wanted this to be cut and dry and not really have to put forth much effort. It was not long before they had begun to harass Cassandra, believing that she had been just as involved with everything. Lucy had threatened a lawsuit and Dwayne had to get involved when they still continued to come after her. Two of their own ended up in the missing person's poster board at the entrance of the boardwalk. After that occurrence they had left Cass alone but every now and then she would catch them giving her the evil eye. They wanted her to be just as crazy as her brother. But Edgar was not crazy. He was just very ill in his mind. The true crazy one was Father Van Helsing.

Because Father Van Helsing was still at large Lucy had decided to home school all of them. They needed their educations and with grandpa's girlfriend being a retired high school teacher it was perfect. Lucy had spoken to Jerome about the girls having Monday through Friday off during the day so they could get their schoolwork done. He was in complete agreeance with her. So, they continued their educations now that the school year had begun again.

The boys however had not let their guards down. They spent most of their time at the girl's apartment above the cafe. Max was not happy about it. In fact, Max was not happy about anything. Not like they cared either. David was amassing his power back and there was nothing Max could do about it. And he knew it. They knew it. Lucy and Maria had quite the video store. It had become too weird for Maria and almost toxic for Lucy. She had started dating Jerome publicly and Max had blown his top. David had to intervene before he had harmed Lucy. Lucy had immediately quit after that incident. She had gotten a day shift job with the county as a clerk to stay clear of Max.

Now it was a Sunday evening. Most stores on the boardwalk closed up by 6:30 pm. So, all the girls had the night off and would be spending it with the guys. The rides had just a few more weeks left before they were closed down for the fall weather. The tourist season was ending, and Santa Carla would be back to normal population again.

There was a festival that night at the boardwalk. The last of the tourists flooded the walk and year-rounders poured in. The night was grand. There was games, food, music, and dancing. Maria and Paul danced the night away. Mickey and Marko played games with Dwayne and Cass. The men were in competition. While David and Samara walked along the beach. The waves crashed upon the beach as they walked along. The moon was beginning to rise. Sam felt her skin light up.

"I think it's happening again." she said to David looking at the moon.

David sighed as he looked as well, "It is a blue moon."

He held her as the moon continued to rise. It was all too soon the moon's power took effect. Her normal green eyes changed to blue and glowed softly. The siren was here. He could hear in the distance footsteps. The girls and the guys were coming. The girls all gathered by Samara. All with blue glowing eyes. They silently conversed with one another. Cass suddenly turned to the boys.

"It's dinner time." her siren spoke, her voice melodious.

Each girl stripped of their clothes and dove into the waves. The moonlight pulsed. They gathered up the girls' clothing and followed along the beach as they began their song. About a quarter mile up the coast there was a beachside bonfire. The sirens stayed in the water and their eyes glowed from the waves. They were hunting. David and the boys put down their clothes and went towards the party goers. It was a bunch of Surf Nazi's getting in the last hoorah of the summer before the tourist chicks left back East.

A beautiful song filled the air and the males of the party all fell under the spell of moon. They gladly walked into the arms of their deaths. While the girls on shore were left to fend for themselves against the icy fangs of the vampires. Both Siren and Vampire ate well that night and by morning a dozen new faces would be added to the missing person's board.

(Jerome and Lucy)

It was a lovely night and Jerome and Lucy had decided to stay in. They enjoyed each other's company immensely. Tonight, with Nanook lingering at their feet they were in Jerome's kitchen making some Jambalaya. Lucy was enchanted by Jerome's Cajun culture. She loved the stories he shared about Bourbon Street and the Bayou. The stories of Voodoo and Hoodoo. The magic of Louisiana. She was thoroughly charmed. Lucy felt so free with him and yet she also felt complete. Jerome was a piece of herself she had not known was ever missing. He brought adventure and charm into her life. He brought life back within her.

Everything with him was brand new. She was not some untried flower. She had experienced life. Lucy had been so young when she had run away from Santa Carla and had gone to Woodstock, where she had met Johnathon. She had done the drugs, been homeless; just living on a prayer. Then with Johnathon, he had been her knight through it all. But that bloom had died, and she had never noticed it. That is until she had gotten to look back at her years with Johnathon. When she examined closely, she could honestly say that it had died shortly after Samara was born. Johnathon hardly ever touched her. Her mother's death was the final straw and Johnathon had pulled completely away from her. And their small family. She was glad that she had finally examined this part of her life. It had finally given her the closure she had needed to move in with her life and with herself.

Jerome was a dream come true. Yes, it had only been a few months, but they had been wonderful. They had become friends and then they had starting dating. Lucy could say that she could see herself with Jerome in a decade's time. They were so compatible.

"Lucy." Jerome said offering her a taste of the Jambalaya.

"Mmmm. I love it!" she said after she tasted it.

"You'll love beignets even more." Jerome boasted with a loud laugh.

She loved this. He was such a wonderful, humble, down to earth man. He was everything she had truly ever wanted in a partner. With a smile she poured him a glass sweet tea and one for herself as he plated their meal. He even cooked up a little chicken for Nanook, which the husky gratefully devoured when he set it down. Lucy felt a sense of calm that she had not felt in so long. Jerome gave her that sense of peace and calm. It was going to be a wonderful night. Lucy would never forget such a delightful night as long as she lived. It truly was the little things in life that made things wonderful.

(Father Van Helsing)

The little traitor! Edgar had betrayed him and the cause! He would find him and snuff him out for this betrayal. But for now, he had to execute the beginnings of his plan. Father Abraham glanced around at the men he had brought with him. They all had truly met the supernatural of the world instead of it all just being in their heads. Even that comic book writer for Vampire's Everywhere, Abraham did not even bother to remember his name, had true knowledge of taking down the vampire scourge.

With a shrug Father Abraham turned his attention back to the task at hand. They had watched the Lost Boys and the Sirens all evening. They had made themselves face the massacre the group had partaken of with the beachgoers with ear plugs in their ears and headphones over them to protect themselves from the Siren song. They were waiting for the most opportune moment to snatch a siren. They waited and waited then their opportunity presented itself.

Three of the couples went off in different directions away from the beach. Probably for some alone time. The couple that had stayed was the pretty little Latina and the blonde vampire. They danced to imaginary music and then popped some beer from the dead people's cooler. They were just opening their second beers when a silver stake shot through Paul's shoulder. Maria screamed but was taken down a second later by a tranq dart. Paul roared then was blinded by holy water thrown into his eyes. He screamed and writhed on the ground. He could hear nothing around him just the sounds of his brothers in his head.

Then they were with him. A person was before him, and David thrust them together and Paul drank deeply from them. His eyes slowly healed up and the stake wound was gone. When his sight was back Paul jumped to his feet looking for Maria. She was not there. She was gone!

"Maria!" Paul screamed, agony in his voice.

David grabbed him before he could run off. He held his brother close and kept him there. Paul was sobbing and clawing, trying to get away to find her. David had been where Paul was. It was unbearable agony. The woman you love, taken by the enemy. You unable to do anything about it. You are not there to protect her. All he would be able to do is feel her. He would know if they hurt her. They would all know cause Paul would know.

(Maria)

"Wakey wakey little mermaid." an unknown voice taunted her hazy psyche.

"Paul." she lightly croaked and opened her eyes.

Everything was fuzzy. But she could tell that nothing was familiar around her. And she was cold and bound with her arms above her. Suddenly ice cold shocked her. Someone had thrown icy water on her. Everything was fully clear then. Maria saw many faces that she did not know. She was in an unfamiliar place with many unfamiliar people. Then she saw a man dressed as a priest. Her cinnamon eyes widened with fear. She knew who this was. It was Father Abraham.

"God, please." Maria spoke aloud.

"Pray while you still can succubus. God may still be able to save your soul from Satan." Father Abraham said, "Good job gentlemen. Get some rest. I will watch her for the night. And try to glean any information that I can."

All the men nodded to the father and left. Maria trembled as she waited for what he would do. The dread in her stomach told her that he was going to hurt her. For a while all he did was stare at her face. Then with a sigh he stood and went around to behind her. Maria's shakes became worse. Then she began to scream when she felt her shirt tear down the back.

"I will ask you a question and you will answer me. If I do not believe what you tell me, you will get a series of lashes." he said to her, "Now. Let's begin."

AN: Don't worry. I hate myself right now too.
