THALIA
A few mornings on, Thalia awoke feeling surprisingly chipper. She heard chatter down in the garden, so she sat up and pulled the curtain aside. The sight that met her eyes actually made her smile for the first time in weeks. True to her word, Beth had conscripted Obi-Wan into helping her with the garden. The padawan was standing knee deep in Honey Suckle, looking around his person for something he seemed to have misplaced.
He spotted a pair of clippers lying just out of reach, and with the help of the force, guided them back to his hand. Thalia smiled and let the curtain fall back into place.
"C-6, is there anything interesting happening in the next few weeks? It is nice having some time off, but I'm bored." Thalia pouted, flopping back onto the bed.
"According to my records, the Crystal Festival is in two weeks. I seem to remember you usually find it quite stressful." C-6 offered.
"Well, that's because I'm usually stuck in meetings when I want to be organizing." Thalia considered. "But since I'm here, I can devote all my time to that."
At that point, a soft knock came at her door, and Beth appeared with a mysterious look on her face.
"What?" Thalia asked not in the mood for her and Obi-Wan's scheming.
"I haven't even said anything yet." Her housemaid grinned. "Have you seen the Honey Suckle this morning?" Her tone suggestive.
"I have seen the Honey Suckle this morning, Beth. It appears we have a knew gardener." Thalia replied in the same tone.
"Oh, he's very good. I see why you like him." She said and after seeing Thalia's look, quickly went on. "He asked me to give you this."
Beth handed her a thin, wooden box with a note on top. It read:
I meant what I said when I told you I wanted to look towards the future and change the way I think and act as a Jedi. As proof of that I give you this…
The note finished there and Thalia opened the box to see Obi-Wan's lightsaber resting snuggly against the light wood. She then noticed there was writing on the other side of the note:
I've constructed a new lightsaber. One a little less flashy, one more myself. Modest and charming. I kept my crystal of course, but thought you should have the saber in memory of the old Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"It's a bit like when a pet brings you dead animals. Kind of sweet, but still gross." C-6 suddenly said. The comment and complete inappropriateness of the timing made the two women fall about in fits of laughter.
"I should come home more often." Thalia laughed.
"Won't you at least talk to him?" Beth asked kindly.
"There's nothing to say." Thalia said, trying to make it at least a little sincere. "Besides, I have work to do."
"A project? Good." Beth nodded.
"The Crystal Festival is in two weeks and I have a vision." Thalia said inspirationally.
