Not gonna lie this chapter turned out longer the I thought it would be but I had a lot of fun working on it!
Me and Petrus made some changes that we think really work with our version of Star and really made this one stand out from the original!
So without further ado we hope you enjoy!
Both Lincoln and Star stood on opposite sides of the backyard narrowing their eyes at each other with smirks on their faces. Star twirled her wand a few times in her hands with her fingers on her opposite hand twitching a little bit. Lincoln cracked his knuckles a few times as he got ready for what came next. In the middle of the back yard floated Glossaryck. The keeper of the book look at both Star and Lincoln to see if they were both ready. "Ready…" Glossaryck started as he rose his hand up in the air before bringing it back down. "Begin!"
Lincoln quickly took the initiative as he aimed his right hand at Star with his palm open. "Icicle bullet!" Lincoln proceeded to fire small yet sharp icicle's right at Star.
"That all you got?" Star asked with a cocky smirk as she pointed her wand at the incoming projectile. "Levitato!" Firing a beam out of her wand, it connected with all the icicles. "Right back at ya!" Star then swung her wand forward and sent the icicles right at Lincoln.
"Now thanks I'm good!" Lincoln grinned as he brought his left hand up and, from the tips of his fingers, proceeded small blue flames similar to that of a blowtorch. "Blowtorch claws!" Slashing at his reflected projectles, Lincoln melted them before they could make contact.
"Raspberry ribbon lasso!" Star then aimed her wand at Lincoln a shot out a ribbon of light that swirled around and wrapped up Lincoln, restraining him. "Haha, looks like you're all tied up now!"
"You've been spending time with Luan haven't you?" Lincoln asked with a smirk as cold mist radiated off his right side. In a matter of seconds, the lasso around Lincoln froze solid allowing him to break free and for Star's lasso to shatter into pieces. Taking a deep breath, Lincoln leaned forward and blew as hard as he could. "Ice breath!" Lincoln shot out an intense cold wind out of his mouth towards Star.
Twirling her wand around, Star created sparks out of her wand before aiming them at the incoming icy wind. "Brutum Fulmen!" A lightning bolt was shot out of Star's wand and at the icy wind, causing the wind to dissipate and cause Lincoln to quickly bring up and ice wall to block it. "Well ain't that shocking? And yes, I have been hanging out with Luan lately, heheh."
"Ugh, should have figured," Lincoln rolled his eyes but couldn't help but grin in response. "Well get ready for this, been working on this one for a while and I finally got it down!" Lincoln's left hand started glowing brightly with heat until it suddenly turned green, once it was green Lincoln aimed his open hand at Star. "Firefly!" Lincoln then shot out little glowing green balls that surrounded Star.
"Wait a second…" Star looked over the balls around her for a second until her eyes widened in realization. "Oh crud this is-"
"Fiery doll!" Lincoln closed his hand and the green light turned back to orange. Lincoln quickly spun her wand around herself as the balls glowed brightly before exploding.
When the smoke cleared, it showed Star was unharmed due to a yellow bubble surrounding her. "Bulla Spiro – Plus!" Star shouted as her bubble successfully protected her from all damage. "Whew, that was close!"
"Ok you two I think that's enough," Glossaryck smiled and clapped his hands to indicate that this little sparring session was over. Lincoln and Star nodded as the princess popped her bubble and the two walked up to the little blue man. "Good work both of you. Star, good work on those spells, even upgrading the air bubble spell into a defensive maneuver. And Lincoln, commendable work to you as well, I see the power of anime is strong on you."
"You know it," Lincoln smirked with pride. Took him a while to really get that last move down but it was so worth it! "And happy to help Star track her progress."
"Thanks again for that Linc, you're the best," Star smiled at the white head as he sent her a nod in response. "So Glossaryck what's next?"
"Well you've done well in handling the more basic spells, so I think it's time we move you onto some more advanced spells." Glossaryck then put two fingers in his mouth and let out a loud whistle. "Come here book! Come here girl!" Suddenly Star's spell book came flying out of her room through the window and landing right in front of Glossaryck where the blue man started scratching the spine of it. "Aw that's a good book! Who's a good book? You're a good book!"
"Uuuuum…" Star and Lincoln let out as they awkwardly looked at each other.
"Right, right, time for that later." Glossaryck cleared his throated before waved his wands and opened up the book and started flipping through the pages looking for the perfect spell to teach to Star. "Ah-ha! I think you're like this one Star."
Turned the book around to show the new spell to the new teenagers, they saw a spell from Queen Skywynne's chapter that showed a few illustrations of wand formations. "Oooooo, Warnicorn stampede!" Star grinned as she read over the spell. This really was right up her alley! "Sounds deadly!"
"Oh it is," Glossarcyk nodded his head as he pointed a hand to the illustrations. "Now then all you need to do to preform the spells is follow these steps exactly and there you have it! Warnicorn stampede!"
"Uh wait a second are we sure this is safe to do in the backyard?" Lincoln asked with a hint of concern in his voice. Now this spell did sound really cool, but it also sounded extremely destructive. "I mean I'm all for Star learning more spells but I don't them to end up destroying the house or anything."
"Oh don't worry my boy I'll handle all that if things get out of hand," Glossarcyk reassured Lincoln. Lincoln was still a bit unsure but he would trust Star and Glossarcyk so instead he just sat down where he was standing so he could watch the lesson take place. "Alright Star are you ready?"
"Oh boy that's a lot of steps…" Star looked over the spell and was a bit overwhelmed with how complicated it seemed to be to pull off. Most of the other spells had basic wand movements that were easy to get down, nothing too complicated at all. But these seemed more like dance steps. "Ok…Ok no biggie. It can't be that hard."
Star then took a few steps back from the book so she could properly try doing the spell. "Alright Star you got this…" Star took another look at the page before getting starting with the spell. However when Star attempted the moments on the page her movements were rather stiff and she couldn't seem to copy them exactly. "Warnicorn stampede!" But when Star triggered the spell instead of a stampede of large warnicorn's tearing through the backyard, it was a single baby warnicon.
Everyone watched as the baby warnicorn ran up to Lincoln and lightly bumped its head against Lincoln's leg. "Aw," The Loud boy let out as he started petting the warnicorns head, much to its delight. "Hey there little guy,"
"Um, Star that isn't a stampede." Glossaryck pointed out as Lincoln began rubbing the baby warnicorn's belly. "A stampede is many warnicorns, that's a singular warnicorn. Try again."
"I-I-I knew that…" Star blushed a bit in embarrassment. Ok…that was a bit of a fluke but not biggie. She'd get it this time for sure. Taking a few deep breath's Star started over. "Alright, alright, just follow the steps…" But once again Star's movements were off, she was stiff and slightly off balance. "Warnicorn Stampede!" But once again, Star was only able to conjure up a single baby warnicorn that ran towards Lincoln. "What?! Oh come on!"
"Star, calm down, just go over the steps for a little while," Glossaryck told Star in a calm manner as he floated up to her. "I told you this was a more advanced spell, so it makes sense you wouldn't get it right away."
"Grrrr…ok...ok…" Star growled and attempted to keep herself calm. Glossaryck was right, this was advanced stuff. She just needed to try a few more times and she'd get it down easily. She was freaking Star Butterfly, she can master a slightly more advanced spell like it was nothing! So Star went back to the book and looked over the steps for the spell, but only for a few brief seconds before backing away to try again. "This time for sure! Warnicorn stampede!"
…But once again Star was only to make a single baby warnicorn.
"WHAT?!" There was no way! Star was absolutely sure she got it perfect that time! "Grrrrr!"
"Star wait," Glossaryck spoke up to try and calm Star down.
"Warnicorn stampede!"
"Star."
"Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede!"
"Star!"
"Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede! Warnicorn stampede!"
"Star stop!" Glossaryck got in front of Star and quickly grabbed her wrist before she could cast another spell. Just in time too as it looked like green sparks were starting to come out of the wand. "You need to stop! Look at what you're doing to poor Lincoln!"
Currently Lincoln was being surrounded by baby warnicorns all demanding pets from the Loud boy. "I only have so many hands!" Lincoln yelled as he tried to meet all the cute warnicorns demands of pets.
"…" Star let out a loud huff of frustration. Finding herself unable to calm down, she just started stomping into the house in frustration. "I'm taking a study breaky…"
"Very well." Glossaryck simply watched as Star went into the house, slamming the door on her way in. Once she was gone Glossaryck let out a sigh as he rubbed his temples. "Dear corn that girl's patience is very limited…"
"Well at least she's not lazy," Lincoln said after managing to escape the pile of baby warnicorns. Least those could technically count as a stampede. "Like Dirhhennia."
Glossaryck let out an amused chuckle at Lincoln mentioning one of the past princesses of Mewni. "Lazy is an understatement for that woman my boy."
"But you do have a point." Lincoln agreed with Glossaryck as he looked to the door Star went into. "I have noticed she's getting more frustrated when it comes to studying spells lately."
"I'm afraid Star has become impatient." Glossaryck explained to the Loud boy as he floated next to Lincoln. "It's good she wants to actually learn new spells, however she expects to get everything right the first time."
"Hmmmmm…" Lincoln put a hand to his chin as he thought about how to handle this. Star just needed a way to handle that she wasn't going to get everything right on the first try. A way to help her learn things in a more…Star way so that way she wouldn't get frustrated. "Maybe we just need to go about this differently."
"Oh?" Glossaryck gestured Lincoln to continue.
"Maybe…we just need to find a studying method that works better for Star." Lincoln snapped his fingers as an idea came to him. "Something that keeps her from getting impatient and helps her take her time learning."
"Speaking of studying…" Glossaryck began as he used his magic to bring the book closer to them. "Are you enjoying the book?"
"Oh absolutely!" Lincoln grinned as he sat down in front of the spell book and started flipping through pages. "I gotta say it's really cool to learn about all the past queens! Skywynne's really cool, Rhina's chapter was pretty neat, but Crescenta…she doesn't seem as bad as Solaria but she sounds like a little nightmare."
"Heheh, you could say that…you could definitely say that," Glossaryck briefly shivered as he remembered his days teaching Crescenta the Eager…not exactly what he'd call happy memories. "You know you're very privileged. Only the Butterfly family and the High Commission have looked through these pages."
"Hope you don't mind me reading it though." Lincoln told Glossaryck with a bit of a worried frown on his face. "Hope I'm not breaking some sacred degree or…something like that."
"Hahaha, I don't mind at all," Glossaryck reassured Lincoln as he gestured to the book. "Read to your heart's content my boy. You have my full permission."
"Wow," Lincoln smiled widely at that. Well hey if he was given permission by the one who lives in the book then why shouldn't he read it? "Thank you so much,"
"Still well mannered as ever," Glossaryck nodded in approval at Lincoln. "Besides you never know when learning about the past might be useful."
"Hehe, true enough," Lincoln couldn't help but agree with that. The past is a great teacher after all.
"Now then back to Star," Glossaryck put his hands together and tried to get things back on track.
"Right, right, like I was saying maybe we just need to find a specific study method that works for Star." Lincoln explained his idea as Glossaryck gave his full attention to the white head. "Last year my friend Zach was struggling with a subject at school, so me and the gang helped him find a way of studying that worked for him and actually helped him enjoy it, and it worked! He was able to pass by the end of the year and he's doing great in it now!"
"So we just need to find a method that works for Star," Glossaryck finished where Lincoln was going with this for him. The little blue man had to admit that Lincoln's idea was a solid one.
"Exactly!" Lincoln smiled and nodded. "Everyone has their own method that works for them."
Inside the house, Star finished chugging down a glass of water in an attempt to calm down before letting a huff and stomping into the living room. She didn't get it, why couldn't she get that spell down? It was just twirling around like a ballerina and move your wand around, simple enough. So what was it so difficult?!
Stepping into the living room, Star saw Lily with the laser puppies all huddled up on the couch watching cartoons. Plopping down next to Lily, Star held one of her hands out to the youngest Loud. "Lily, puppy me," Star demanded in a grouchy tone.
"Here ya go." Lily immediately obliged and placed a puppy onto Star's lap, with the princess petting it instantly. "Something wrong?"
"You could say that…" Star sighed out as she petted the laser puppy's head. "Just this stupid spell I can't get down, I don't get why it's so hard."
"Well maybe you just need to clear your headfirst." Lily smiled at Star as she pointed to the TV. "Watch some cartoons with me!"
"Well…guess it couldn't hurt." Shrugging, Star leaned into the couch and decided to just relax with Lily. Maybe some cartoons will help clear her head. And it seemed to already start working as Star smiled at seeing what was on. "Ooooo, I love this show!"
"Me too! It's so much fun!" Lily then jumped off the couch and started dancing around to the music that was beginning. "Especially the theme song."
"Hehehe, it is pretty catchy." Star giggled as the theme song started…and she found herself singing along. "I can't believe you're all mine!"
"What?" Lily sang along, grinning as Star jumping off the couch to join her.
"You and me for all time!" Star continued singing while pointing at herself and Lily.
"Ugh!" Lily rolled her eyes as Star took her hands into her own.
"I'm never, ever, EVER gonna be alone again!" Picked up Lily and spun her around a bit before holding and hugging her with one arm.
"Oh boy!" Lily struggled not to giggled as she attempted to escape Star's hold.
"The dream team you and me!" Star then started to twirl Lily around.
"For all eternity?" Lily feigned a terrified look as Star set her down.
"For all eternity!" Star sang loudly as she rose her arms up.
"It's the ghost! It's the ghost and Molly Mcgee!" Star and Lily sang in unison as they started to dance around each other, both smiling widely.
"I've been cursed it's the worst!" Lily sang out as she and Star grabbed each other's hands and leaned close to each other.
"Now you're stuck with me!" Star sang as she picked up Lily and hugged her close.
"We're never gonna be apart!" The two sang together as Lily peaked an eye open.
"Is there a way to hit restart?" Lily sang with a tiny smirk.
"Nope!" Star let out as she pressed her face right against Lily's.
"We're the ghost! Ghost and Molly Mcgee!" The two sang as Star put Lily down after spinning her around again and pointing a thumb at herself.
"That's me!" Star sang with a cheeky smirk.
"Well that's she." Lily rolled her eyes again and pointed a thumb at Star.
"The ghost and Molly Mcgee!" The two finished off before looking at each other and laughing loudly as they sat back down on the couch to enjoy the show. Star almost completely forget why she was upset to begin with.
But she wasn't the only one to notice this. Watching from the door frame leading into the kitchen and seeing the whole thing play out was Lincoln and Glossaryck. "Hmmm…" Lincoln hummed in thought after watching the scene play out. Star went from negative Nancy to her usual happy self after one little song. "Music…"
"I take it you have an idea~?" Glossaryck asked with a small smirk. He knew that look of Lincolns.
"I think so…" Lincoln grinned as it came to his head. "She was all grumpy pants just a second ago but now she's happy and relaxed again. Maybe her study method needs…musical touch."
"To Luna we go then." Glossaryck knew where this was going and pointed up.
"You read my mind." Lincoln grinned as he pointed to the door leading back to the back yard. "We just gotta get the book and bring it up the stairs."
"Oh no need for that, let me handle it," Glossaryck brought his hands apart and rose them up into the air as the gem on his head started to glow brightly. "Hooooooo-HA!" Glossaryck then clapped his hands and, in a bright pink flash, Glossaryck and Lincoln suddenly appeared in Luna and Luan's room along with the book.
"AH!" Luna yelled out as suddenly her brother and Glossaryck appeared in front of her in an instant. Only Lucy was able to do that! "W-W-What the heck dudes!? Where'd you come from!?"
"I-I don't know…" Suddenly Lincoln felt his legs feel like they were made of jelly as he fell to his knees and clutched his head. "Oh God headrush…"
"Oh right I should have warned you about that, my bad," Glossaryck apologized as he patted Lincoln's head. "Don't worry you get used to it after the first couple times just let it run its course."
"Ok…Ok-Ok…" Lincoln took a few deep breaths and blinked a few times as he forced himself to stand up. Definitely the biggest headrush he's ever had but it was still just a headrush, nothing he couldn't handle. "Alright I think I'm good now. Sorry to bother you Luna hope you're not too busy."
"Uh, nah I'm not up to anything bro. Just kinda wondering why you did that instead of using the door?" Luna asked in a confused tone as Glossaryck put on an amused smile, earning a small look of annoyance from Lincoln. "So what's up? You dudes need something?"
"You could say that." Glossaryck nodded his head. "We were hoping too enlist your help in training Star with her magic."
"Wait you for real right now?" Luna asked with a raised brow. Why would they want her help in that? She didn't have any sort of magical experience whatsoever. "I mean…I guess I could but I don't see how I could help you dudes out."
"Actually you're exactly what we need for this, I think you could really help Star out." Lincoln began explaining too his sister now that his head rush was completely gone and he could actually think clearly again. "See, she's developed a bad habit when it comes to her studying. She keeps expecting to get them right, right away and when she doesn't she becomes frustrated and angry."
"Ah I know how that feels." Luna nodded in understanding. She's been in Star's shoes before. "I remember getting bummed out a lot when I first started learning how to play music, thankfully I broke outta that habit. Star's just gotta do the same."
"And we think you're just what she needs to do that!" Lincoln grinned as he presented his idea to his older sister. "You see we just saw Star instantly cheer up after singing a little theme song with Lily so I was thinking maybe we could somehow use music to help Star study her spells, and who knows more about music then you!"
"Aw shucks bro, you're making me blush." Luna smiled and ruffled her brother's hair at his compliment. He was always the little flatter even after 14-years. "But hey that's a pretty good idea! I know it helps me when I'm studying! Maybe it can help out Starship as well."
Glossaryck then snapped his fingers to open up the book and after a few moments of flipping through the many pages it finally stopped on the warnicorn stampede. "This is the spell Star's having trouble with at the moment." Glossaryck explained as Luna got off the bed to properly look over the spell. "She's having difficultly getting the movements down."
"Hmmmm, hey these kinda look like dance moves," Luna grinned a bit before humming in though. Dance moves…she could work with that easily. "I think I got it! Ok dudes I'll help you out, just give me about an hour to set things up."
"Awesome! Thanks Luna you're the best!" Lincoln grinned as he thanked Luna. He knew he could count on her for this, hopefully whatever she came up with would help Star out with her little studying problem. "Anything you want me to do to help?"
"Nah I can handle it on my dude, I'll just call you and Star when everything's ready." Luna told him as she reached under her bed and took out a notebook. "Just leave the book with me, gotta get these moves down."
"It's all yours," Glossaryck told her before turning to Lincoln. "Now then it appears we have some time to kill, why don't we play a rousing game of pudding roulette!"
"Pudding roulette?" Lincoln asked with a raised brow. "What the heck is that?"
"Oh do I have something to show you." Glossaryck chuckled as he and Lincoln excited Luna's room, allowing the rockstar to plan things on her own.
MEWNI
BLAST!
BLAST!
BLAST!
"Aaaaaahhh!" Ludo screamed as he fired a blast out of his wand which resulted in him getting launching right into the wall of a cave. After his ordeal with the rats Ludo had "recruited" them for his new and much improved army. Right now he was focusing on two things, building his new underground base and practicing with his new wand. The first thing was going quite well for the little kappa as his rat army proved to be good diggers, but the second thing…could be going better.
For the past half an hour Bird and Spider were watching as Ludo pretty much tossed himself around like a ragdoll as he failed to handle the recoil the blast of his wand created. "I don't even understand, girls. This thing is impossible to control..." Ludo groaned as he got up and dusted himself off. "Why won't you work? Hm?"
Ludo glared at his wand…but then something strange and quite chilling happened. The crystal of the wand glowed and pulsed…and Ludo heard a voice.
"H-Huh?" Ludo blinked a few times as he stared at his wand in shock. He…He had to be hearing things, right? Either he's finally lost his marbles or, "You can talk?"
Bird and Spider looked at each other in expressionless confusion before looking back to Ludo. The wand pulsated again as Ludo once again heard the voice. The kappa leaned close as he looked deep into the wand's crystal. "Tell me your secrets." Ludo demanded to know just how to use the wand in his possession. Sure he knew enough to keep the rats in line, but if he wanted to see his plans put into action.
The wand hummed again, giving Ludo a little suggestion. "Star Butterfly?" The wand wanted him to find Star? But why? That didn't make sense. Plus the last thing he wanted was to meet up with the princess again, especially after what happened last time. "But I don't want to see Star Butterfly. She doesn't have a wand anymore."
The wand hummed again, trying to persuade Ludo of this suggestion. "Look even if I wanted too, which I DON'T, I can't!" Ludo yelled at the wand in frustration as he started pacing back and forth. "I have to stay and make sure these rats build my underground fortress the way I want! Plus I don't even have my dimensional scissors anymore and Star is still probably on that dirtball planet or whatever it was called!"
The wand pulses again, making Ludo raise a brow. "My old castle?" That couldn't be right, besides how would the wand know? "But…Star took them from me, she probably has them." But the wand denied this assumption. "She…She doesn't? Well…I guess it couldn't hurt to at least look around and see if anything survived. Maybe I'll find some of my old cloths as well."
Ludo then turned to his most loyal minions. "Alright girls, get ready." He told them as they tilted their heads at the kappa. "We're going on a little field trip!"
Bird and Spider simply followed Ludo's orders as they followed him out of the cave.
BACK ON EARTH
"Hmmm-hmmm-hmmm…" Lincoln hummed to himself as he felt the hot water of the shower his it body. After him and Glossaryck's game of pudding roulette…both of them really need to wash off. Thankfully they had some time to kill and, after losing to Glossaryck in rock-paper-scissors, Lincoln was forced to wait for the blue man to finish his first. But now that he was in the shower he was making sure to wash as much as he could to make sure he was clean, especially his hair. "Well at least it washes easily."
Just then he heard knocking on the door followed by the voice of Glossaryck. "Hey Lincoln are you done in there?" Glossaryck asked as Lincoln continued scrubbing his hair. "Luna says she's ready for her lesson with Star."
"Just give me a few more minutes!" Lincoln shouted back as he grabbed a bottle of shampoo. "Ya know you could have warned me how messy pudding roulette was!"
"You should have known the risk when you entered the arena my boy!" Glossaryck told him causing Lincoln to sigh and shake his head. "Well we'll be out in the back yard when you're ready."
"Alright, I'll be there." Lincoln said before going back to focusing on cleaning himself.
Out in the backyard, Luna was currently setting things up. She had her laptop on a cart along with a few speakers that were connected to the device. "Alright, dance moves check." Luna said as she looked over her note book and the illustrations she made by copying the steps of the warnicorn stampede and making them appear more as dance steps rather then instructions. "Speakers check. Camera check. Music?"
Glossaryck then floated towards Luna holding a keytar. "Check." Glossaryck smiled as he put his fingers on the keys and played a little tune. "Finally time to put these mad skills to some use."
"Heheh, nice one little dude." Luna smiled as she double checked everything and nodded in satisfaction. "Alright! We're all good to bra, just need to get Star and Lincoln out here and we can start!"
"Here I'll call Star," Glossaryck's gem then glowed as he proceeded a magic megaphone and aimed it at the house. "Star Butterfly! We have you surrounded! Come out with your hands up or we'll be forced to shoot!"
Almost immediately Star came out in the back yard with a crazed look on her face and her wand out and glowing. "YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!" Star yelled before firing out Narwhale blast like crazy into the sky. "AAAAAAAHHHH!"
"Woah, woah, Star calm down dude!" Before Star could running away Luna quickly grabbed the princesses shoulders and shook her around a little to calm her down. "The fuzz ain't here for you man, Glossaryck was just trying to get you out here!"
"Wait, what?" Star quickly looked to Glossaryck and glared at him a little. "Glossaryck what the heck."
"Well sorry I can't help it." Glossaryck said with an amused smirk as he rose up the megaphone again. "I love megaphones!"
"Ah! Ok! Ok! Stop already!" Star yelled as she covered her ears. Luna was fine though; she's done louder things then that even without magic. "So what did you want me out here for anyway? It is time to get back to the spell or something?"
Before either Glossaryck or Luna could answer, the door to the backyard opened once again and Lincoln, now completely clean, came outside. "Hey guys sorry it took me while it took me a while to was the putting outta my-GAH!" But before Lincoln could finish suddenly a narwhale fell out of the sky and landed right on his head. "Ow…"
Right after that all the other Narwhales Star fired off into the air started raining back down to earth. Over on Mr. Grouses yard, he stepped into his backyard to find a narwhale with an eyepatch land right in front of him. "My yard my property!" Mr. Grouse yelled as he picked it up by the tail and licked his lips as he looked at it. "Oh I'm eating good tonight!"
"Richard no!" Star yelled out as Mr. Grouse brought Richard the Narwhale into his house.
"Sorry Star but I'm afraid we've lost him." Glossaryck said rather casually. "He's on his own now."
"Ugh, what the heck guys?" Lincoln groaned as he pushed the narwhale off him and rubbed his head as he stood up. "I just washed my hair and now it's gonna smell like fish."
"Ok first Lincoln, narwhales are not fish," Star pointed out as she crossed her arms and turned her head away from Lincoln. Lincoln simply rolled his eyes in response as Star turned back to him with an apologetic look. "And sorry about that Lincoln, Glossaryck played a little trick on me is all."
"Ah that makes sense, just don't play pudding roulette with him unless you wanna spend 20 minutes in the shower." Lincoln informed her as he narrowed his eyes at the little blue man. Star…wasn't even gonna ask. She would just take his word for it. Lincoln then turned to his older sister and asked, "So everything ready?"
"Sure is bro!" Luna gave him a smile and thumbs up before turning to Star. "Hey Starship, was wondering if I could ask you something."
"Oh sure thing Luna, what's up?" Star asked as she put away her wand, all the Narwhales in the back yard vanishing in puffs of pink smoke. "And what's with all the equipment?"
"Well me and the Moon Goats are working on a new music video to put onto our website and we wanna make sure it's a big one!" Luna explained to Star. Honestly she was pretty proud of herself for coming up with this little story as a way to help Star learn her spell. Usually Lincoln was the one coming up with plans and stuff like this. "So I was hoping you could be a part of it dude! We need some extras to give us too sweet vocals and wicked dance moves!"
"Wow really?!" Star's eyes lit up with excitement. Luna wanted her to be in one of her bands music videos? That was awesome! She's watched all of them and can easily say she was a Moon Goats fan now, she would be even if she wasn't living in the same house as Luna. "That would be amazing! I'd love too! But wait…what about the spell?"
"Ah that can wait until tomorrow Star." Lincoln reassured her with a smirk and wave of his hand. "Luna's waiting for you, besides the book will always be there and you did say you needed a study break didn't ya?"
"Well…I suppose that's true!" Star grinned as she went from being 99% onboard to 100% on board. "Ok, ok, let's do this! Here let me just do a quick change of clothes, wanna look the part for a rock music video after all!" Star then brought out her wand again and pointed it at herself. "Radiant Shadow Transform!"
Star then shot herself with the spell and her body glowed like a rainbow as her appearance changed. When the light faded Star was now wearing a purple sleeveless top with a yellow lightning bolt on it with a dark purple music note over the lightning bolt. On her left wrist she had a spiked bracelet and on her right arm she had a sleeveless elbow length glove with purple and dark purple stripes. She had a black belt with a star shaped buckle, a ripped jean skirt, with a dark reddish-purple studded belt around it diagonally, long purple socks with fishnet stockings over them, and blackish-purple boots. Her hair was now shorter, going only a little past her neck, and was died a hot pink at the tips with two hot pink streaks above her forehead. She had two piercings in her left ear and a single piercing on her right hear and her headband was now a spiked one.
"Ta-da!" Star twirled around to properly show off her new look to everyone. "How do I look?"
"Not bad at all Star!" Lincoln nodded at Star with a smile on his face as he looked her over. "Man first goth and now rockstar, you seem to make anything work."
"Seriously! Rock and roll little dudette!" Luna grinned as Star blushed form the compliments she was receiving. "Now then, let's get started! Think first we should work on is your dance moves, once you get those down you can work on singing while dancing."
"Word, word," Star nodded her head in understanding.
"Here, I got the steps I want you to do." Luna then grabbed her notebook and opened it up to the "dance steps" she wrote down and handed it to Star. "Should be easy for you to pick up on!"
"Hmmmmm…" Star looked over the steps and hummed a bit in thought. She was could swear she was feeling some déjà vu coming to her as she looked over them. "These dance steps seem familiar…"
"U-Um…" Luna stuttered as she quickly became worried. Crap did Star catch onto what they were doing. "W-Well-"
"Eh, whatever," Thankfully Star didn't give it a second thought as she handed the notebook back to Luna. Luna breathed a sigh of relief as Star took a few steps back to get ready. "Pretty sure I can get these down easily. Let's start the music!"
"You heard her Glossaryck!" Luna grinned as she turned to the little blue man and pressed a button on her laptop. Music started to blast from the speakers and fill the entire backyard. "Let's turn up the music!"
"MC Bookkeeper in the house!" Glossaryck yelled out as he twirled his keytar around and started playing it. "Time to bring some mad beats!" Glossaryck then started bringing the fire and played the keytar in rhythm with the music Luna put on.
"Camera's all ready." Lincoln said as he grabbed the camera Luna brought out and pointed it at Star. "We're rolling!"
"Ok guys, get ready to check out these sick moves!" Star grinned as the music hit her ears. Remembering the dance steps Luna showed her, Star began to move her feet to the rhythm and tried to do the dance moves Luna showed her. Key word being…tried. Similar to before when Star tried to the Warnicorn stampede her movements seemed to be stiff. It was like she was trying to go in one step and right into the other but with little movement in between them.
"Cut!" Luna yelled out as she turned off the music. Lincoln stopped recording and Glossaryck stopped playing as well. Star eyes widened as she suddenly stopped dancing while she was in the middle of a step, forcing her to come to a sudden stop. "What the heck was that Star?"
"W-What do mean?" Star stuttered a bit as she looked around awkwardly. "I was dancing."
"Well yeah but you were all stiff dude, what was that all about?" Luna asked as she began to mimic the movements Star was making. Star couldn't help but…cringe a bit in response. Was that really how she was dancing? "What's up? I thought you knew how to dance?"
"Well…yeah I dance a lot." Star stated as she awkwardly looked around. "I mean I used to go dancing at the Bounce Lounge all the time and go to a few mosh pits as well. I am a dancing queen!"
"Aaaaaaah, I think I got it dude." Luna nodded after Star explained that to her. Now she understood why this was so hard for Star, it was all clear now. "You're a queen of club dancing. But not actual dancing."
"I…guess so?" Star asked with a look of confusion on her face. "What does that mean exactly?"
"Club dancing is different from normal dancing dude, with club dancing you're just moving around like crazy and just having a wicked time no matter what's playing in the background." Luna explained as Star nodded her head, taking in every word said to her. "But with normal dancing, you have to let your body flow to the rhythm. Loosen up and get into a groove, it's like your body is an instrument. Here, watch me."
Luna then went over to an open spot in the backyard to show everyone what she was talking about. First she started to jump around and shake her body around, loosening up her entire body. The loudest loud then started humming a rhythm to herself and closed her eyes and actually started to dance around. She first started moving her feet around in rhythm with the song she was humming. But then she amped things up by jumping up and spinning around as she flipped and landing right on her hand. She then started spinning around in an epic breakdance with almost all parts of her body moving at once.
"Wooooah!" Star immediately started clapping, followed soon by Lincoln and Glossaryck, as Luna continued to break down. "I thought Lisa was the break dancer of the family!"
"Who do you think taught her dude?" Luna grinned as she flipped up again and landing on her feet, putting an end to her demonstration. "I even taught my GF how to dance after Sam decided to give it a try."
"So is that it then?" Star asked as Luna walked up to her. "I just gotta loosen up is all?"
"Exactly dude! But not just your body, gotta loosen up your mind." Luna explained to Star as she poked the princess's head. "Dancing ain't a competition or anything, you gotta have fun! Just go with the flow and get lost in the music."
"…Yeah ok, that makes sense," Star crossed her arms and looked down a bit in thought. Now that she really thought about it, she had quite a lot of stuff crowding her head. Especially lately. Maybe that was also the reason she was struggling with learning the more advanced spells. "I guess my minds been cluttered with a bunch of junk lately."
"Well then you just gotta loosen up Starship, get yourself lost in the music and forget all that jazz." Luna told her with a supportive smile. "Let's try it again, and if you still get it wrong then just try again! These things can take time, after all I didn't learn to play over ten instruments overnight dude."
"Same for me," Lincoln spoke up as she rose her hand. "Took me a while to learn how to play guitar, and other stuff as well."
"And it took me a while to perfectly roast pudding over a fire," Glossaryck stated, only to get a few strange stares at him. "Ok you all caught me I'm still working on it. But I will find the best way to roast pudding even it it's the last thing I do!"
"So give it another go Star!" Luna encouraged as she patted Star on the shoulder. "Also when it comes to the dance steps, don't think of them as separate steps but a single step that your flow through."
"Ok…Ok I got this…" Star then got back into position again and started to warm up. "Loosen up…" Similar to Luna Star started to hop around while shaking her arms around to loosen then up, even bobbing her head up and down to loosen up her neck. "Alright guys start up the music again!"
"You got it Starship!" Luna then pressed play on the laptop again and started up the music.
"Camera rolling." Lincoln pressed the record button on the camera again.
"Mad tunes playing." Glossaryck started to play the keytar again.
"Alright…let's do this!" Star then started to dance around again, trying to clear her mind of everything else but the music.
MEWNI
"Hmmmm…" Ludo was still for the last few minutes. He, Bird, and Spider made their ways to the remains of his old castle, and it was just as destroyed as when he last saw it. It didn't look like anything was touched since he last saw it. No raiders or anything have come to scour the place or even just some bums hanging out amongst the debris.
It should have been simple. Go to his old castle grounds, look for his old scissors or anything else that might have survived the explosion, and go back to earth to capture Star Butterfly. But the second the three arrived Ludo just found himself starring silently at what used to be his castle. Or more specifically his family's castle. "Girls…" Ludo finally spoke up, making Bird and Spider turn to him. "Can you both love and hate something at the same time?"
Bird and Spider briefly looked to each other before looking back at Ludo. "This castle…it used to be a symbol of my family." Ludo explained as he blinked, and upon opening his eyes and he briefly saw his castle fully intact and its imposing shadow being casted down on all of them. "A symbol of our power, and when I took over it became my power. As if a part of Mewni was all mine, and after that I just wanted more."
Ludo then looked down and a saddened look came upon his face. "But it also just serves as a remind of memories…bad ones." Ludo clenched his fist and gritted his beak as a flood of sour memories came to him. "My family…my siblings…my parents…every single day with them was just one challenge to get through after another." Ludo's face then softened up. Despite this…there was at least one diamond in the rough. "Although…I hope Dennis is ok."
Ludo's wand then glowed and pulsated, with Ludo nodding in response. "Yes…Yes your right." Ludo then pointed his wand at the destroyed castle and decided to just get things over with. "Alright girls come on! Let's get searching! The sooner we find those scissors the sooner we can leave!"
Bird and Spider put up no arguments as they went along with Ludo into the remains of Castle Avarius. "Bird, search the place from the sky. Signal us if you find anything." Bird nodded her head before taking off into the sky to search the rubble with a bird's eye view. "Spider, you with me. Who knows if any pest are around and hidden in the dirt."
And so Spider stood by Ludo's side as they looked around, searching for any potential keep sakes. For the most part all they found was rubble, rubble, and yes more rubble. When it came to the smaller pieces of rubble Ludo was able to take care of, for the large stuff Spider was able to pull it away with her webs, and for the really large stuff Ludo blasted away with his wand.
"Huh?" Ludo let out as he noticed something underneath a piece of rubble. After ordering spider to move it out of the way, Ludo dusted it off to see what exactly it was. "Now let's see…oh…" Ludo frowned at seeing it. It was a portrait. A family portrait. Containing all 49 of his siblings, and his parents. But it was hard to tell he was even in the photo as his father's hand was covering his face, you would only be able to tell it was him due to the skull helmet on his head. It was like his dad was trying to keep his face out of the portrait…it was him trying to keep Ludo out of the family portrait. Pushing him out of the family.
"This isn't what we came for." Ludo growled out as he blasted the portrait with his wand, making it alight with green fire. As Ludo watched the fire grow, he and Spider heard the call of Bird and looked up to see her circling around in the air over something she apparently found. "This better be good."
Ludo and Spider then went over to where Bird was until they were right under her. She then flew down and landed on Spider's abdomen before pointing her wing towards a small rock. Ludo looked and his eyes fell onto something that was sparkling under the small piece of rubble. "Is that…" His eyes widened as he walked up to the piece of rubble and threw it out of the way. And there they were.
His dimensional scissors.
"They were here…" Ludo said as he looked over them. Not only were they here, but they were perfectly intact. They could still be used! Ludo then brought his wand up to his face and looked at in amazement. "You were right."
The wand glowed in response, a smirk coming to Ludo's beak. "Alright." Ludo nodded before turning to Bird and Spider. "Girls get ready. We're going on a little field trip."
EARTH
About three hours later, the group decided to call it a day with dance practice. Once Star began to get the hang of it she really started killing it! After about two hours she was practically one with the music and preforming the dance Luna showed her almost perfectly! So once they finished up for the day they decided to treat themselves to dinner at the best fast food joint in town, the Burpin Burger!
"Mmmmmmm!" Glossaryck hummed in delight as he took a big bite of his burger. "It's not pudding but I must admit these burgers are absolutely delicious."
"I know right!" Star grinned as she chomped down on her own burger, a look of pure delight on her face. "Oh so good!"
"Glad to see you're happy again Star." Lincoln smiled, happy at seeing Star back to her usual self. Looks like she was able to clean all that clutter out of her head.
"Heheh, thanks for all that guys." Star said with her mouth full. After a quick moment she swallowed and let out a happy sigh. "I really needed something to get my head on straight."
"Well nothing better for the soul then some sick tunes dude." Luna told Star after taking a sip of her drink. While this was just meant to be a way to help Star with her magic but after seeing how quickly Star was able to get it down after she knew what to do, she might just ask Star if she wanted real dance lessons. Star had the potential to be a real rug cutter. "Gotta say Star you really had some sick moves dude! You're a natural!"
"Aw shucks, only because I had such a great teacher!" Star told the loudest Loud before finishing off her burger, let out a little burp afterward. "Alright Glossaryck! I think I'm ready to take another crack on that spell!"
"Very well then." Glossaryck nodded his head and finished off his burger as well before floating up. "I suppose we should head outside then."
"Well…that is the way home so…yeah." Star slowly said as she pointed her thumbs at the door. Had no idea why Glossaryck specifically said outside and not head home but whatever, Glossaryck was already saying weird stuff like that. "Come on guys let's go!"
"Sounds good." Lincoln smiled as he walked next to Star towards the exit.
They were soon followed by Luna and Glossaryck, the blue man staying close to the rockstar, and the two went outside after Star and Lincoln. But before Luna could catch up with her brother and the princess Glossaryck suddenly held his arm out in front of her and stopped her. "Wait," Glossaryck told her as he looked at what seemed to be nothing. "You're gonna want to stay back."
"What? Why?" Luna asked with a confused tone. Stay back from what? Sunlight.
"From that obviously." Glossaryck pointed at where he was looking…which was nothing.
But before Luna could question anything, the familiar sound of a portal appearing came to everyone's ears. Looking up at where Glossaryck was pointed they saw an awfully familiar black and dark green portal. And from it, flying on Bird while on top of Spider was someone Lincoln and Star didn't think they would see again.
Ludo!
"LUDO!?" Star yelled as Ludo grinned evilly down at Star as she and Lincoln gained shocked looks on their faces. The last they saw of him was when Star threw Ludo into a random portal she made with his scissors. Honestly they didn't think they'd ever see him again…and was he wearing a chip bag? "You're back?"
"Yes I am." Ludo told them as he looked Star right in the eye. "Good to see you again…princess."
"What the hell?!" Lincoln yelled as he glared at Ludo, taking a defensive position. "What are you doing here?!"
"Hahahaha! Isn't it obvious?" Ludo asked with a wicked cackle as he pointed to the princess. "I'm here for her!"
"Not gonna happen buddy!" Star yelled as she quickly pulled out her wand…at the same time as Ludo pulled out his.
"What the?!" Both shouted in unison as they looked at the wand the other had. How was that possible?! "You have a wand?!"
"Woah!" Luna let out in surprise as she and Glossaryck simply watched from in front of the entrance to the Burpin Burger. "When did the Kappa dude get a wand?"
"And why is it giving me the strangest feeling of Deja vu?" Lincoln asked as he looked over Ludo's wand. It was certainly rather ominous looking…but then he noticed it. The green half gem. "Wait a second…"
"What?" Star turned to Lincoln. "Something up?"
"Yeah…" Lincoln narrowed his eyes at Ludo's wand. There was no mistaking it. "Think I found the other half of your wands gem."
"Enough talk!" Ludo yelled as he pointed his wand at Star and Lincoln. "Get them!"
Bird and Spider let out a screech and a hiss in unison as they started charging at the two with Ludo jumping off them. But Star and Lincoln didn't look intimidated at all. In fact, when they shock from seeing Ludo and his new wand faded the two stood their ground and smirked as they looked at each other. "Fighting Ludo and his guys again?" Lincoln asked as mist and smoke started to come off him. "Heh, not gonna lie this is making me feel nostalgic."
"I know what you mean, this should be fun," Star said as she tossed her wand up and down a few times. "Alright, I'll take care of Ludo and you handle his little friends."
"Break!" The two said in unison as they charged forward.
Bird and Spider immediately gunned it for Star, since it was her Ludo wanted. Spider got ready to shoot some webs at her and Bird got read to swoop her up but before they could do that A stream of fire was shot at them forcing them to jump and fly out the way respectively. "Not so fast you two." Lincoln got right in front of them as Star continued to beeline it to Ludo. "You're fighting me!"
Spider let out a hiss at Lincoln and immediately tried to shoot webs at him. Lincoln smirked and simply let the webs wrap him up. "Heh, cute." Lincoln smiled rather cockily as his body erupted with fire that instantly disintegrated. "My turn now. Fire Javelin!" Forming a javelin out of fire, Lincoln through it at Spider, the javelin landing in front of the arachnid and exploding as it made contact with the ground and launching spider back.
Bird then let out a screech as he tried to swoop down and attack at Lincoln from above. "Frost Kick!" Covering his leg in ice magic Lincoln round housed kicked Bird right in her chest and sent her away as well, leaving ice covering her chest feathers. But Lincoln wasn't gonna let up and continued his assault before the two could recover. "Firefly!" Similar to before with Star, Lincoln sent out a barrage of green plasma balls towards Bird and Spider. "Fiery Doll!"
Closing his hand the balls glowed brightly and, before Bird and Spider could react, they all exploded around them. Lincoln watched the cloud of smoke rise up and narrowed his eyes, that did a lot…but it was never that easy. "Hssssssss!" Suddenly Bird and Spider came flying out of the smoke together. With Bird holding Spider tightly the two attempted to dive bomb at Lincoln.
But the Loud boy was perfectly fine with this. In fact, it gave him the perfect chance for him to try out another move he's been working on. "Oh yeah, I've always wanted to try this." Grinning, Lincoln reared his left arm back and covered it in flames and manipulated those flames to shape into something. "Falcon…PUNCH!" Punching forward right as Bird and Spider came up to him, Lincoln shot out a falcon of fire at the two and punch them with enough force to send them back flying up into the air. Lincoln then leaned down and, with a burst of fire and ice, jumped up into the air and passed them as he rose up his right arm. "Ice Make – Hammer!" Forming a large hammer of ice, Lincoln swung them down at Bird and Spider and sent them back down to earth with enough force to leave a crater.
"Come on guys." Lincoln smirked as he started falling back down, using his fire to slow his descent. "I was expecting a real challenge here." Bird and Spider struggled to get up, but when they did they both glared at Lincoln as he landed back down in front of them. "Want some more huh? Alright then, I'm game!"
As Lincoln was busy with Bird and Spider, Star stood in front of and looked down at Ludo with a smirk as she brought up her wand. "Nice wand little man," Star teased, making Ludo growl a bit. "Do you even know how to use it. I can show you the basics if ya want, you know, make it a bit of a fair fight."
"Oh you'll be showing me much more then the basics when I get my claws on you!" Ludo yelled as he aimed his wand at Star and fired a green beam at her. "AH!" Ludo yelled as the recoil of the blast sent him back.
"Woah!" Star quickly ducked under the beam, leading it to hit a nearby streetlight, melting the metal of the pole a bit and knocking the rest of it down. "Ok wasn't expecting that…" However, Star noticed that Ludo seemed to struggle with control of it as he was sent back by his own attack, so this should still be pretty easy. "Rainbow Fist Punch!"
"Huh?" Ludo look up and was unable to react in time as Star's spell made contact with his face and sent him flying back even further. "Grrrrr!" Ludo growled as he stood up and fired his wand rapid fire at Star, firing three green beams at her and causing him to fly up into the air.
But Star easily ran forward and dodged all the blast coming at her, leaving harmless craters in the parking lot. "Should work on your aim their Ludo!" Star mocked with smirk on her face as she aimed her own wand at the ground. "Bunny rabbit blast!" Firing a blast of bunnies, Star propelled herself into the air and up to Ludo wear she bonked him on the head with her wand and sent him back down.
"Dagger Crystal Heart Attack!" While she was still in the air Star fired off a barrage of razor-sharp heart shaped crystals at Ludo. Ludo let out a frightened yell as he quickly aimed his wand at the heart barrage and quickly fired at them. The beam exploded as it made contact with the hearts and cancelled out both of their attacks. "Raspberry Ribbon Lasso!" But Ludo wasn't given a chance to recover as Star wrapped him up. "Alright Ludo, let's go for a spin!"
"Huh? What are you-AAAAAAAHHH!" Ludo then yelled out loudly as Star started to twirl around and spin Ludo around rapidly. The kappa continued to scream as he was spun around more and more and got dizzier after every second. Eventually Star released him and sent Ludo flying right against a nearby dumpster, making a dent in it before Ludo fell to the ground face first. "Uuuugh…I get it…"
Ludo then raised his head back up with an enraged look on his face as he glared at Star. "That's it…" Ludo growled out as his wand's crystal started glowing brightly. "No more mister nice guy!" Ludo then rose his wand up and fired out a blast of green energy. Only this one was much bigger and most intense then the other ones.
"WOAH!" Star let out as she jumped to the side just in time before the massive beam hit her. When it faded what resulted was most of the parking lot of the burpin burger as well as a few cars being destroyed. "Holy cow…what was that?" Deciding to take care of things before they got worst, Star aimed her wand at Ludo and unleased another attack. "Narwhale blast!" But as Star fired her spell at Ludo, her own crystal glowed green and out from it came a single Narwhale. A grotesque one with a single large eye, a lumpy body, and horns all over its body. "…Oh what is that abomination…"
"YAAAAA!" Suddenly Ludo let out a battle cry as his earlier attack launched him into the air. While he was air born he fire more beams at Star from above.
"AH!" Star let out as she quickly started to run forward to avoid being blasted as she aimed her wand at Ludo again. "Mega Mushroom Destruction Blast!" But Star's wand glowed green again and from Star's wand dropped only a couple of fuzzy mushy mushrooms that let out a foul odor. "What the? What's going on?!"
But Star wasn't the only one experiencing problems right now. "Now let's see how you like this!" Lincoln yelled as he held his left fingers up as he faced down Bird and Spider. "Blowtorch-"
BOOM!
"AH!" Lincoln yelled out as suddenly a green explosion erupted from his fingertips causing him to fly back. "W-What the…" Before as Lincoln was getting up…he found himself unable to move his arms. Looking to his upper limb, his eyes widened as he saw them moving on their own, rapidly twitching as green sparks flared from his left side and a layer of green frost formed on his right side. "H-Hey! What's going on-AH!"
But before Lincoln could try and get this under control suddenly a wave of green colored ice shot out of his left hand. Lincoln yelled as the recoil of the attack launched him back as a small glacier of eerie green formed in front of the fast-food restaurants. "Why can't I stop!?" Right after Lincoln said that a powerful stream of green fire was shot out of his left arm and quickly started spreading throughout the area. "EVERYONE LOOK OUT!"
"AAAAHHH!" Luna let out as she quickly jumped out of the way as some of the fire was shot at where she was. "Hey watch it with the flames bro! And why are they green now!?"
"I-I don't know!" Lincoln let out as he struggled to stand up. This only becoming harder as he placed his right hand on the ground and begin to cover the area in a layer of green ice. "I can't control it! It's like my arms have minds of their own!"
Meanwhile watching everything play out was Glossaryck, who was munching down on a basket of fries. "Mmm, this might be trouble." Despite his words, Glossaryck didn't look or sound worried at all.
"You gotta do something dude!" Luna yelled to Glossaryck with a freaked-out tone in her face. What was once a one-sided battle on Star and Lincoln's side quickly turned into chaos. "I mean you're some ultra-powerful magic guy right?"
"You're right I am." Glossaryck nodded as he finished eating a fry. "I'm just waiting for the best bit first."
"Best bit?" Luna questioned with a raised brow.
"Just watch," Glossaryck told her as he pointed at the chaotic battle. "I think you're gonna wanna see this."
Star was breathing heavily as he finished dodging another barrage of Ludo's beams. Luckily when he landed Ludo fell onto his head and became dazed, this gave Star the perfect opportunity to strike back. "Total Destruction Death…wait…" But as Star was about to fire, she finally noticed. Her wand was glowing green. "Just like Ludo's…"
Star started to piece things together in her head. This was just like when he wand was flying around and ended up in the closet with Lincoln, and like she was at the graveyard when her zombie spell went out of control. "Negative emotions affect the wand…" Star muttered. Lincoln was right, the crystal on Ludo's wand was the missing half of her wand's crystal. When Ludo started to get angry her wand started to get affected and even Lincoln's powers as well. Star then tried to think of a solution, if negative emotions made her wand weaker and Ludo's wand stronger…then positive emotions should have the opposite effect. "I just gotta…loosen up."
Humming a tune to herself Star smiled as she started jumping around and loosen up her body before beginning to dance around in place. "Huh? Hey! What are you doing?!" Ludo yelled as he rubbed his head and stood up. "Why are you dancing? Stop dancing! We're fighting!"
"Hey come on Ludo, chill out." Star told him with a grin as she continued to dance around. "Why don't you try loosening up a little there bud?"
"I'll show you how to loosen up!" Ludo growled out as he fired more blast at Star. But rather than running Star instead danced around the attacks. Twirling out the way of the one, flipping over another, and limboing over a third one. "Grrrrr, stand still already!"
But Star continuing humming a beat as dancing to it, easily evading all of Ludo's blast. "I think earth is a really gre-e-eat place!" Star sung out as she danced around more green beams. "That's saying something since I've been through outer space!" And as Star sung, her wand stopped glowing green and went back to its usual bright pink glow.
"There it is." Glossaryck then let out a loud whistle, getting everyone's attention. Suddenly in a manner of seconds, the magic book of spells came flying onto the scene and landing in front of Star and opened up to the spell she was having trouble earlier. "Now, let's try this again."
"A book…" Ludo muttered as he lowered his wand.
"Hey wait…" Star muttered as she looked at the steps for the Warnicorn Stampede. "These are…"
"I think you know how to do it." Glossaryck told her with a smirk.
"Yeah…I do." Take a deep breath, Star preformed the dance Luna showed her earlier. Pulling it off perfectly and finishing by raising her wand up in the air. "WARNICORN STAMPEDE!"
Coming out of the wand was a stampede of many full grown Warnicorns that were coming right at Ludo, Bird, and Spider with blood lust in their eyes. "AAAAAAAAHHHH!" Ludo was only able to scream as he and his minions were trampled and were sent flying back into the portal they came in from, the portal closing once they were all gone.
After that the Warnicorns vanished at Star brought her wand up to her lips and blew off some smoke coming off it. "And stay out!" Star yelled with a smirk before putting her wand away.
"Woohoo!" Luna cheered as she ran up to Star and gave her a strong pat to the back. "Good job Starship!"
Lincoln let out a relieved sigh as he found himself able to move his arms again. "Thank goodness…" Lincoln smiled as he looked around and saw the green ice melting and the green fire going out. Lincoln then walked up to Star and gave her a side hug. "Heheh, looks like you got that spell down pretty nicely."
"Because of how sneaky you all were~" Star told them all with a cheeky grin on her face. "Disguising the steps to the spell as dance moves, very clever~"
"Well I'm gonna have to give the credit to Lincoln and Luna on this one." Glossaryck said humbly as he pointed to the master minds of this plan. "They were the ones to set everything up."
"Aw you guys," Star gushed with a blush on her face.
"We knew you could do it dude," Luna told her as she ruffled Star's hair. "Just had to go about it in a different way."
"Well it certainly worked." Star grinned before pointing her thumb backwards. "No let's get out of here before someone notices this mess."
"Sounds good to me." Glossaryck said before floating onto the book and pointing forward. "Gun it!" Making a sound similar to a car engine, the book suddenly took off at high speeds with the other three following behind.
MEWNI
Ludo was battered, beaten, and bruised.
His plan to kidnapped Star was a complete failure…but it wasn't a complete lost.
"Hey, guess what." Ludo grinned as he spoke to his wand.
"There's a book!"
And another chapter done!
So me and Petrus thought that this really worked for our version of Star. She's more eager to learn spells, but she can get easily frustrated if she doesn't get them right on the first try. Thinks it really shakes things up.
Plus we got more moments of Lincoln's powers going haywire and trust me that's gonna pop up again eventually.
So make sure to favorite, follow, leave a review and stay tuned for the next chapter...
