Thank you all for reading and following my story. I do apologize for how long it took to update but I'm hoping that now I'll keep the ball rolling for all of you. I'm hoping to take this as far as I can and prove that Usagi isn't the cry baby we all used to think of her. So far I feel I'm pulling it off with how I think she would act in her situation and where she now finds herself. As for Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako, I will be using their princess names when Luna, Usagi or Queen Selene think or talk about them. Those names are in order of meeting the girls are Emilia, Raina, Malaka and Maéva, I shall use their names intermittently throughout the story to base what time the girls are being spoken about in such as if Luna is speaking about Usagi from the past to any one but those who already know she will use Serenity and vise versa. I do not own nor make money from Sailor Moon, I would love to meet Naoko though since she is helped my younger self learn that I can be strong.
Merendinoemiliano, Thank you for the kind words. I am hoping to continue trying to use what I can to keep this story flowing as smoothly as possible.
Xxkirbylover11xX, I am actually glad you saw that, I've always thought that while the original had only one crystal per family, I felt that would leave not only the family unprotected if they are the so called shield for each royal family but also how the family passes power down. I felt that while that's a good idea, why did Naoko make it sound as if there were more than one whenever Selene spoke in the first place? So it got me thinking, what IF there is actually more than one crystal per family? What if each family passed their powers down with a ceremony but their crystal kept some of their personal power they were born with so they could protect themselves after passing on the crown/mantle. So I hope to make that work out with how I've planned this story.
I'll leave this here again, so that we can keep in mind that I am using two sets of parents and need the smooth transitions in which to call them to each person whom I show the parents for
Seeing as Usagi will know her mother from when she was previously Serenity and her mother from her current era, I will be using Mother and Mom to differentiate between the two even if the original story has Usagi call her current mother figure Mother it will be changed in this story.
Example- Selene = Mother and Ikuko(Usagi's birth mother in the current era) = Mom
For future chapters, this will also apply to other characters, even if they do not have a current era mother figure.
In explanation of the different effects in the story
Bold - Sound effects or louder areas of speech
Italicized - Thoughts or mind conversations
-Somewhere unknown-
An icy breeze blew in through the open arches along the wall. A crystal ball glowed in dark light as a woman with long dark merlot red hair looked into it while a man she had summoned came and bowed before kneeling before her. The man, whose eyes were closed and had placed his right hand over his heart while bowing to the woman, sighed to himself as he waited for the woman to speak. His uniform was the standard Dark Kingdom military uniform, in a varying royal blue to gray color, with red trim along the front, bottom, collar, and side seams. He had a single large gold button in the corner of the front flap. He wore brown knee-high boots and a brown belt, and wore white dress gloves with three darts on the back and a set of almost blackened jadeite earrings. His appearance, besides this, topped with his very short, closely cropped pale blond hair over an inverted triangular face, which was currently set in a scowl.
He desperately wished to be allowed to go so that he could get back to his mission which he honestly was tired of. He'd been on this mission for at least a month and it had only been a few days ago that this irritating woman had finally told him that he could possibly find it in Japan. The scan he'd had run had proven that yes many strong energies were coming from the country but that didn't give him leeway in his search since most of those energies centered in the largest city which would only make looking for the crystal that much harder.
He thought of the dreams he recently started having of a passionate woman and the very earth he stood on today. Which in his dreams looked greener and more open than it was now, the moon brighter and fuller. Of a group of men who looked similar to the group he was in but stronger and less gray in color, the girl and one man seemed to be missing from then to now but he honestly wasn't worried, the woman before him hated weaklings and would regularly destroy them in front of the denizens of the place the woman ruled over. At least he was alone in the room with her, not that he felt comfortable around her at any time. He was about to speak up but the woman finally looked at him.
"You haven't…" she smiled cruelly "...found the "Legendary Silver Crystal" yet?" the crystal swirled with dark color before her as she spoke. The glow lit her pale white skin in an oddly alluring way that showed off her necklace and earrings of beryl gemstones, her purple and black dress, her horn arm ornaments, her purple lipstick and the deep red talon like nails on her hands. The man sighed a small sigh of relief that he would not be in the room much longer and gave a slight shake of his head "I haven't…" he bowed a little deeper "I offer my humblest apologies." His answer caused the woman to sneer. She gave a small scowl and threw her hands in a circle motion around the crystal ball before looking at him again.
"The Great Ruler desires power! We must gather energy!" The crystal in front of her glowed more and the dark colors swirled within it and seemed to get darker at the mention of the great ruler. "And we MUST locate the "Legendary Silver Crystal" immediately!" The woman threw her hands away from the crystal ball in front of her and a dark mist swirled out from her and around the room.
"I understand." The man closed his hand in a fist over his heart, "And I, the Dark Kingdom's Far-East Commander..." and lifted his head from the bow "...Jadeite…" and opened his gray eyes which held a confident gleam. "...take that responsibility, Queen Beryl."
-Back in Azabu-Jûban at an old park-
Luna was now sitting on a bench facing the blonde girl that seemed almost hesitant now compared to when the two came to this park. The girl who had been ready to speak her mind and give proof was now trying to hype herself back up and pacing back and forth in front of the cat.
She would find a way to start, stop pacing, face the cat and then stop herself before going back to pacing and shaking her head. The smug 'I told you we should have just brought her to the moon and show her the prayer stone' from her mother was beginning to get on her nerves and she stomped her foot before sending back a 'well after she says "well there isn't any possible way that is the truth" THEN I'll have you take her and I up there but until then LET ME THINK' Usagi sighed and sat on one of the boulders sat near the bench before looking over that the cat and setting her shoulders and looking Luna in the eyes with a somewhat grim determination.
"Okay first, I apologize about last night, you were dead set on lecturing me into a nap and I wanted to show you something to prove that I know not only you but more to your story then I let on and I didn't do it in a way that was calm nor nice. I hope you forgive me for that but I want to ask you a few questions and I want you to answer me as truthfully as possible because that will shape what I tell you." The blonde looked up to where the moon sat unseen in the afternoon sky and sighed before again looking at the small black cat with the grim determination set firm on her visage.
This caused the cat a small bit of shock as she hadn't expected this lackadaisical girl to be so passionate about any topic, not after following her for a few days. This girl who now sat before her looked fearless and almost illustrious, able to take on any task given. Luna gave a suspicious gaze and pursed her mouth before nodding at the girl who was starting to look a little impatient.
"If it means you explain your actions of last night and what you seem to know then fine, I'll answer but ONLY because you said you know me which I doubt" The cat was a little haughty about the last few words and as she flicked her tail.
She glanced up at the girl and frowned at the grin the girl had given her. As the girl smiled she sighed and as she let go of the hesitance she seemed to sit up straighter and the regal feeling about her seems to grow a little as well. Usagi took a breath and gathered herself before the long-lived black cat with the golden moon and let out a few breaths that seemed to bring quiet to the area around them and a serene aura seemed to circle the two women.
"Now Luna, cat of Mau, adviser to Queen Selene and teacher as well as godmother to Princess Serenity." The cat sat with her tail up in the air and her fur now standing on end as the girl she thought knew nothing named her for what she was but didn't interrupt. "I ask these questions of you and hope that you will answer me with the same trust you would when speaking to the Queen. What do you remember from the past? Who else knows what is going on? And will you listen to my tale as I tell it?" As Usagi spoke she seemed to glow a little and the broach seemed to shine a little brighter as she asked the questions.
Usagi, who was still nervous, threaded her hands together and sat them on her thighs as she folded her ankles left over right and brought them a little closer to the boulder she sat on. "Before you answer, I want you to know that I ask this of you with complete trust because I really do trust you with the knowledge I hold and with my own life." Luna slumped, her fur having gone down with each question because honestly she hadn't wanted to answer truthfully if at all after hearing the questions or how this questionable girl started to address her, it had hurt to hear all of that again. But after the girl told her that she trusted herself with all of the knowledge Luna couldn't help but want to trust this girl herself, and not just because she was now required to due to the girl being a senshi.
Luna sighed and looked at the girl who now looked regal if not a little familiar, something in her brain telling her to take the girl into a hug and to soothe her as she used to for Princess Serenity. Shaking her head to cease the thoughts of her long lost student, Luna sat straighter herself and looked Usagi in the eye before nodding and giving Usagi her full trust.
"To be honest I wasn't going to answer fully due to how you'd addressed me but if you are going to trust me that much then I shall give you the answers but I'm not sure how this will help. I remember the Queen, and the Palace we were in as well as helping her with many different duties and people. I cannot fully recall the princess or I would be with her while looking for the rest of her guardians. I recall that there was a war when she died though and that it hurt to see so many people die due to the enemy. I know the Queen, which while I want to ask how you know her and of me I shall withhold my questions until after your story, and that she sent all of us forward in time so we might live. As for who else might know, possibly my partner from Mau, he was also sent forward with all of us but unfortunately I am not sure where he could be. I can contact central which I would assume has a few people who know but other than that I couldn't be positive about who could possibly know about you or any of what is going on. And obviously I shall listen to your story but I have to think about whether or not to believe it and you until after." Luna gave into her sorrow and lay down circling around herself as she faced Usagi and dared her with her amethyst eyes to lie and tell tall tales about her own history.
Usagi for the most part looked like she had expected at least one of the answers she received but was relieved about the others. This gave Luna pause as that wasn't the emotions she'd been expecting nor looking for, and for once it shocked her into thought. Usagi sighed and smiled a tiny amount as she shook her head and dusted some non-existent dust off her skirt before she looked up at the sky again and nodded before looking at the black feline again with a clear look of strength and determination.
"Well that makes this simple then, we can keep an ear out for your partner and for info as well as anything on whom the enemy could possibly be and what they are up to. But for now here is my promised story. Now before you decide to interrupt me…" the cat looked rightfully reproached "...I spent a year in a hospital which caused me to not only lose all the training and good grades I had, but…" Usagi took a deep breath and stood back up before sighing and pacing in front of Luna again. She ran a hand through her bangs and tugged her uniform back in place before shaking herself back to the here and now.
Luna cocked her head slightly while studying Usagi, whom she had decided to keep an eye on and went to open her mouth before stopping herself and sitting up from the circle she had put herself into. Usagi for her part sighed before again shaking her head and lightly slapping her cheeks as to prepare herself for the rest of the story.
"During that time I had fallen into a coma and according to my parents, the doctors didn't expect me to wake up again. I had been in a crash with a semi at a gas station, so I have to say I'm happy to even be awake and able to even go to school and do what I did last night. I never thought I'd be able to participate in my after school activities any more but I proved I can, you just needed to show me I'm far stronger than I gave myself credit for. But during my coma, this is the part you will really want to listen to Luna, I found myself wandering around a palace and its surroundings. Sometimes I'd find myself in other places, such as a fantastic garden here on earth or on Venus or Mars, or so I'd like to think. But what I was shown each day was something from my past and people I would interact with on a daily basis while that era was where we lived. You popped up a lot during my coma as did other girls and sometimes men were there. I never thought that things would be so different yet the same as they were. But that is only part of my story, this is the part I will need help telling and we will have to move locations so I need your permission so we can move you."
Usagi looked a little worn out but still determined to tell her story so Luna nodded and jumped over to the girl. She looked up at the blonde and something tickled the forefront of her mind before she shook her head and jumped up into the girl's arms. Usagi grinned and closed her eyes 'Mother I could use your help teleporting to the prayer room for the rest of the story' and as Luna began to question what the girl could possibly mean. Moving lights surrounded the duo and a bubble popped up around them as Usagi began to glow silver. Luna gasped as the bubble and they both lifted off the ground and soared into the sky and beyond the atmosphere. Luna's eyes grew as large as they could when she realized this could give her more answers then she possibly had the questions for at the moment.
-Moon-
She looked at where Usagi was looking before almost jumping out of the arms that held her tightly and her fur. Before her eyes she saw what should have been ruins but was a half put together palace and gardens. The buildings looked like they were slowly being rebuilt and the gardens freshly planted but what shocked the cat the most was the fully built room the two had landed in front of.
"Luna this is the prayer room that you and my mother would frequent when decisions needed to be made. I've only ever entered the room once fully and a few other attempted times, either in a rush to get one of you to play with me or by mistake because I did not know the layout of the palace I called home. Here is where I shall tell the rest of the story." Usagi opened the double set doors and before Luna could open her mouth to object to the entry something else caused her jaw to drop almost as much as their flight had. In front of the now 6 foot prayer crystal stood a hologram of a woman she knew once deeply. Luna began to escape Usagi's arms before what the girl had said registered in her mind and she fell out of Usagi's arms with little grace.
Usagi snickered at the cat's responses and had to keep herself from guffawing out in full belly laughter when Luna fell. She ushered the cat into the room and closed the doors behind her. Usagi bowed to her mother and stood next to her before looking at the still in shock cat whose head was swiveling between Queen Selene and Usagi with her mouth opening and closing in an attempt to speak the words her brain was attempting to get passed the shock but before Usagi or Selene could say anything Luna's eye rolled back in her head and she landed on her side due to the shock.
At this point Usagi couldn't keep her laughter in and held her stomach as she laughed fully and heartily for the first time in over a year, Selene giggled a little at her daughter's and aid's reactions as well. Usagi and Selene chatted about how their plan was going to change and how Usagi was doing to help it move along smoothly for a while as they waited for Luna to wake up. Usagi also brought up that she may know where her beloved might be but wanted to investigate more before contacting him.
-30 minutes passed-
Luna opened her eyes and for a moment was lost as to why she was asleep and where she was before the memories resurfaced, Luna gasped as she leaped to her feet and looked around the prayer room. The girl and the hologram of the queen were softly chatting near the crystal lost in conversation about some generals and guards of some sort. The Queen glanced over to the place Luna had fainted and clapped in delight as she noticed the feline had woken up. She tapped Usagi's hand which seemed to get the girl out of the thought process she had entered and back to the here and now as she too looked over at the cat. Usagi looked sad and heartbroken for a split second before she shook her head and tried to put her confident look back in place but Luna could see the lost little child that Usagi had helped her remember as the small silver-haired child through her mind and brought not only tears but a smile as the cat looked at the girl with happiness. A sob came from somewhere and as she looked at the other two occupants of the room, it was then that Luna realized that the sound came from her and that tears were running down her face. Memories Luna hadn't even realized she had forgotten came flowing through like a river and the two women she thought of as her main family beside her partner were sitting in front of her. Usagi nodded at the cat with shimmering eyes and it seemed to Luna that it was known to both Lunarians that questions were answered.
"My Queen, oh it is so nice to see you once again, I have missed you so much. Serenity, you and I will talk later on how you managed to trick your mother into allowing you to be a Senshi and I will begin your etiquette lessons again. OH, there is so much we are going to have to cover. I swear to Selene that you have gotten so much worse since we last had lessons. In the past week ALONE I've seen you trip over your own fee-" Luna looked at Usagi who had one eyebrow raised in question and a slight smile on her face while Selene was looking at her daughter with an exasperated interest. With the two different reactions to her outburst, Luna decided now would probably be the best time to ask Usagi to finish her story that got interrupted by the travel and her subsequent fainting spell. Luna cleared her throat with a small cough and looked thoroughly embarrassed before sitting down next to the two royals and nodded to Usagi who with a chuckle gained back a portion of the determination she had put aside during her chat with her mother.
"Right, as I was saying before and as you've come to remember or partially remember, we will have to talk later to see what you did recall during your little nap, I am Princess Serenity or I was." Usagi took a small pause. She looked to the prayer crystal and with a small sigh began again quieter than before "Now, now I am Usagi Serene Tsukino, a 15-year-old born on Earth in the year 1978 to the Tsukino family, I had been a very active child doing both Ninjutsu and Jiu-Jitsu as well as singing. Until my accident I had actually been doing rather well in school as well as keeping up with the teachers but while my mom back on Earth has it in writing that the school would be helping me…'' Usagi paused again before fisting her right hand and standing up while shaking her head in shame. Usagi bit her lip and walked to the other side of the crystal. She then leaned on the wall facing the crystal while looking into the space just beyond as her vision blurred with tears.
"It has been half a year since I've come back to school and not once have my teachers nor school counselors even looked in my direction or offered any help." Usagi wasn't seeing the crystal nor the room at this point and Luna could hear it in the way Usagi spoke, the heartbrokenness and pain that came from being ignored by those who were supposed to help but were obviously looking past someone they thought wouldn't put the effort in ever again. Luna peered around the crystal to the girl and could see that if helped, Usagi would try just as hard as she had before the accident to get back to that point if only given the chance. Luna thought back to what she said right after realizing who she had been standing in front of and cringed, with a nod and a small glance over to her Queen who also looked a little sad and worried Luna decided that she would help Usagi get back on her feet even if that meant lowering her own standards of where she thought her Princess should be. Luna would give the girl that chance to blossom again and help with whatever fate had in store for them.
"But-" Luna looked back up as the girl began speaking again, "I plan on getting better especially now that I'll actually need the training and techniques that I had learned back a few years ago, I'll get there but that isn't why I - We brought you here. My mother and I have actually been planning for if the enemy wakes up from the seal and with everything that has been going on according to you and the things mother has found, it seems they have." Usagi walked around the crystal and nodded to the two women she had looked up to in her previous life before sitting back down next to the holographic queen. Usagi reached to her side and into her subspace pocket before pulling out a small blue handheld device Luna thought she remembered seeing before but couldn't fully recall as if it were still being blocked by a wall. Usagi typed on the device for a short while Luna jumped up on her shoulder to try and see what was being looked up. Usagi scowled at the cat after she felt the weight on her spine and neck increase before shaking her head and setting the mini supercomputer to project the spherical grid that she had pulled up.
"What we see here is spikes and drops of the energies in and around the world but mostly japan where the enemy is looking for the Imperial Silver Crystal, or at least the one they know about, which while it still has the majority of the moons protection and power connected to it - isn't the crystal they are fully getting readings on. According to Mothers information, each princess and prince has the next generation crystal for their planet and while they each only have enough energy while they are young to help them heal quicker and use small everyday magics isn't powerful enough until they reach their teens and there for the years where they actually gain jobs and/or title unless they are going to become the successor of the royal for said planet. I had just gotten old enough to be named successor for mother and we had actually planned to use the party where Endymion and I were to be engaged as the platform to transfer the power from her to I but seeing as the entire era fell that night, mother instead had to use the power to seal the enemy and send all of the souls that had been on the moon into what she thought would be a safe time." Usagi took a pause in her story and took a breath realizing that she had gone on in an almost endless lecture reminiscent of Luna's own lecture mode. Before she could speak again she felt a touch on her arm and Usagi looked over to her mother, who had a look of amusement and was nodding at the cat who in turn was looking at Usagi in awe due to the amount of knowledge that Usagi had just shared as if it were the first time which Usagi thought could very well be the first time she has actually heard me go off on a tangent like that since I know I used to try to get out of anything back when the Silver Millennium was still standing tall Usagi felt the sweat drop on her forehead before shaking away the thoughts and other distractions that had caused her to veer off topic.
"Sorry about that, I took a vested interest this time around in what mother had to say about the crystals, ANYWAYS back to the energy spikes. I noticed that there are quite a few centered around Azabu-Juban in Tokyo, and had to try to separate the different sources but could not properly do so with how little I know of Emilia's computer here but I am not the tech savvy princess that she was. I think that you would have an easier time and would probably be able to sort out the energy signals and figure out what they mean. Umm, also if you could possibly pass this off to Emilia when she is found that would probably be for the best since we don't exactly want to give away who I am at the current set of events. I should also try to pass you the other's items as well so that you can pass them off as you see fit and help them get back to their old strengths hopefully. I am just not sure how to fully access it, and was wondering if you could teach me?" Usagi let out a breath in a rush after her little explanation of the energies to the best of her ability hoping that it was enough to gain Luna's attention but HOPEFULLY not keep it as the rest of the plan was explained, or at least this next part, OH I hope Luna will go along with it and not call MY endy an enemy...although he had been in the area on my first night as sailor moon Luna may try to think of him as one hmmmmm Usagi thought about how that would go over and decided to just tell Luna who she thought her prince was and tell her to stuff it if Luna even tried to place him on the enemy's side. Luna was looking over the info showing on the graph with an intensity that Usagi only ever saw a few times in either life. Queen Selene coughed into her holographic hand and gained Luna's attention which with a blush Luna looked up from the graph over to the queen.
"As my daughter was saying these energies are garnering some attention we are sure the enemy has found and would like to see if we might be able to get them first and see if the source will help for our side or not, as for the enemy I think it may very well be the ones who caused the war to happen and the many deaths that were caused and if so they need to be stopped at all costs. But my daughter would like to save the generals that were her prince's protectors if at all possible. As she said we at some point will need to transfer the power over to her after I collect enough of my own energy back to be able to form a somewhat corporeal body. Up to this point we've been using the moon systems Usagi moved to a location on Earth to give orders to an awakened senshi who we have ordered to continue her investigation in England for now until you can find the other senshi and are able to get them better able to understand the situation. Now for the part I dread and wish we didn't have to do but fear we must, Luna by my order as Queen of the Moon I must command that you keep the fact that Usagi is my daugther and the Princess the senshi must protect until further notice. Things were not as we hoped they would be due to high tensions and we need to know whose strengths will lie with us." The queen's hologram wavered a bit and Luna jumped a bit out of her focus on the queen now worried about what was happening.
The Cat moved to see if she could help but Usagi held up a hand and shook her head before Luna got too close. The girl looked sad but not heartbroken, the queen looked to her and nodded before fading out of sight. Usagi gave a sad sigh but knew that if they wanted to be able to get home and have a good excuse they had to go now.
"Sorry Luna I can finish giving you the details later but that little waver was my mother running low on energy for today and if we want her to be able to help us get back to Earth properly we should go now. It is getting late and if I want to be able to give a good excuse to mom then I'll need to run to one of my old dojos and grab an application along with having you. Ummm I could possibly also use your teachings on a few things since I don't remember as much as I would like." Usagi scooped the cat back up in her arms and headed out of the prayer room. As soon as the door shut the bubble appeared around the duo again and sent them flying once again before landing safely in the little park they had been in before. Usagi looked at the watch on her wrist and nodded before running down the street and a few blocks down to the nearby dojo for Jiu-Jitsu and bowed to the sensei before asking about the reapplication process to which she was handed a small packet of papers and a bit of info before she was shooed out since the next class was filing in. Usagi bowed on her way out and put Luna and the papers into her bag before she set her mind to ease and then started her mad dash home to further the excuse as to why she was so late to her mom. Luna held on to the inside of the bag to the best of her ability as she noticed that Usagi actually had good stamina and impressive strength if she were able to do a sprint of this level on the near-daily basis that she seemed to do.
-A quick dash to the Tsukino house-
"I'm home mom!" Usagi, who was a little out of breath but still the happy go lucky girl that she is, opened the door to her house with a smile. "Welcome home, Usagi! Dinner isn't ready yet, but I know you've got a stash of snacks up in your room so have a small one for now!" Her mom smiled at her and noticed that her bag seemed a little larger around the seams then when she had left that morning and shaking her head wondering what stuffed toy or gift she'd won from the arcade this time before the bag seemed to wriggle and the flap opened on it's own as a small black head popped out of the main pocket. Ikuko looked slightly shocked but shook her head at her daughters antics again, this wasn't the first animal Usagi had picked up usually injured or in need of food but Ikuko had the thought that maybe this one might be different if the little crescent bald spot on the cats head had any say.
Usagi was taking her school shoes off and setting her school bag on the table to which the small cat hopped out to sit on top of the bag looking around as if it was trying to make sure that nothing would try to get at it. Ikuko looked to Usagi who looked a little hesitant to ask what was on her mind but it seemed that with a quick peek Ikuko's daughter made up her mind and moved the cat off the bag before grabbing something out of it and the cat before walking over to her. Ikuko looked at her daughter expecting at least one question but was curious about the packet of papers that were also being held.
"Mom, this is a cat that I found the other day and it decided to follow me home today, so I was wondering if I could possibly keep it? I promise to get better at school and to work hard at taking care of her." Usagi acted the clumsy cat owner as she purposely mis-held the cat in a way that made her front legs stick out facing her mom with the packet slightly digging into the cat's side. As Ikuko was thinking about it, the cat squirmed just enough for Usagi's grasp to loosen and for the cat to take a flying leap using a back paw she'd managed to get onto Usagi's left hand up to Ikuko's shoulder and glared at the blonde girl now holding a packet and her shock clear on her face. Ikuko held in the giggle that the scene caused and carefully took the packet out of her confused daughter's hands before looking at it and reading it over as tears began to gather in the corners of her eyes. She looked to the blonde who was standing with her hands in front of her while she fiddled with a bit of scared hope. With a sniff, Ikuko hugged her daughter and handed both the packet and the cat back to the girl with a request for the girl to ask her dad when he got back but to get on to whatever homework she had for the night before heading back to making dinner and going over her list of customers she needed to reconnect with for the current cycle.
"Oh! I already gave the cat a name just in case you and dad say yes! Her name is Luna and if you say bald spot you'll end up getting scratched!" Usagi said as she rushed up to her room with the packet and the cat who looked ready to scratch Usagi for the mention of the crescent moon on her head.
Hi again, I'm Usagi Tsukino. 15 years old, in the second year of middle school. My current hobbies include eating, sleeping and taking the easy way out. KIDDING! My current hobbies do actually include eating and sleeping but I am hoping to get back into a few of my after school activities such as Jiu-Jitsu and Ninjutsu. I also will be trying to get better in school and training my mind so I can better handle anything thrown my way. I am a normal, cute, bit of a crybaby, young girl. Or I should be, I went and changed what my mother and I planned and became a Guardian of Justice, and it is all because I can't just let my senshi protect me on their own, not when I can actually do something about it!. Luna was the main factor as to how I became a senshi but not the reason as to why. I was truly lucky to have picked her up when I did and I am glad to have her on my side for everything that will be coming up here due to the enemy. Honest! If you DON'T believe me, ask her or my Mother!
Usagi cleared the last step to the top floor and flew into her room with the cat and packet on her bed and shut the door before her brother could see the cat or the reapplication form she had. Luna glared at the blonde and then perched on the bed as the girl slumped next to the table before reaching into one of the drawers under her bed and pulling out a box of strawberry pocky to munch on and then pulling out the homework from her bag and as she did so she placed the packet on the table next to it so she could fill it out after an attempt of the math and possibly the history. Usagi glanced through the sections and sighed once again, not able to understand it even if Naru (and Umino) had spent the entire lunch trying to explain the section in detail. Usagi swept the homework back into her bag ready to get put in detention yet again, Luna looked at the girl with a sad look, she hated not being able to help the girl with the school work but knew that if Emilia's reincarnation could be found then maybe she could help Usagi get better. Usagi filled what she could of the form for Jiu-Jitsu out and left the rest for her parents, if they allowed her to get back into it. She would grab the Ninjutsu reapplication form tomorrow. She decided to try to prove she was working on herself to her parents. Luna spent the time Usagi was writing trying to gain her attention. And when she finally did, Usagi looked slightly pensive.
"Luna! Do you have to watch over me so much? We have an important mission and need the senshi! Shouldn't you be...OH CRAP!" Usagi pulled her twin tails as she looked at the cat in shock. She remembered she'd never shown the advisor where they had set up the command center and knew that was just as important as Luna knowing the plan which also needed to be explained the rest of the way. "Luna later tonight after my parents and brother have gone to bed we have to go and show you where the command center is. I should check in on our senshi in England while I am thinking about it. But do you remember when Mother spoke about the Prince's guardians?" Usagi barely waited to see the cat nod before continuing, "Great! So my plan is to hopefully use the moon wand Mother has been training me to use to heal them and if not heal them steal their power crystals if we happen to find them. Mother saw them fighting my girls in the past life and as she said something might happen since they were killed by the generals. I hope that we can do something because I think giving the generals back to Endymion would be the best gift I could possibly give him right now." Luna was looking at Usagi like the girl had finally gone insane and shook her head at the girl before jumping across from the bed to the table in front of the blonde and sitting down before waving her paw in front of Usagi's face.
"Earth to Usagi! What are you talking about?! Usagi-chan, you only just became a Guardian of Justice a very short time ago! More enemies are going to show up! How on Goddess Selene's silver moon are you going to be able to train in your after school-classes properly! I've got tons of things I'm going to have to teach you on TOP of going over this plan you and your Mother came up with!" Luna bopped Usagi on the arm in a slight rebuff. The black-furred advisor looked at the girl who was wincing at the mention of more enemies and thought the girl was taking something to heart before attempting to gain the blonde's attention yet again.
"Luna, calm down, we will figure out how to make the training work. I really don't want to be stuck in an outmatched situation like that ever again and I know that these classes will help me…" Usagi paused and thought about what Luna said, "...Just what type of 'enemies' are we fighting anyways?" Usagi pandered out loud hoping to get Luna's help in figuring it out. The cat shook her head in response to Usagi's answer and question before realizing that a smart question had been asked which threw the teacher in her for a loop, not expecting such a question. The cat paused and while she knew that Usagi was going to show her a space that would help in their search for all of the things Luna wanted to find, decided to answer as best she could.
"They aren't human, but I'm guessing you knew that from whatever reports you are getting from your awakened senshi, They're evil. Things that shouldn't even be in this world. I am absolutely positive that we need to hurry to find your allies so they can not only help you fight but protect you when you can't fight." Luna looked sternly at her ward, who seemed to be deep in thought, and waved her paw in front of the girl's face again. Just as the cat was about to open her mouth Usagi gasped and looked at Luna sharply.
"You remember the dreamy fellow from last night? That Tuxedo Mask?" Even as Usagi spoke about him that way she was cringing seeing as she thought she knew who he was in the past. "He HAS to be an ally! I'm absolutely positive about it!" Usagi put in as much emphasis as she could to hopefully get the right idea about the man into Luna's mind. "OH! If we are getting more allies we are going to have to think about a way to communicate as a group." As Usagi began to realize that a little better, she squeaked as she realized that they would need to also figure out a proper communication device for when they did find everyone. Luna looked at the girl who had entered a state of thought and shook her head before the cat's ears picked up the sound of a door opening and bopped Usagi's nose to stop the thoughts in their tracks.
"Usagi-chan, it sounds as if someone came home just now and if I recall, your mother? Mom? Which do we call her now? Ohhh this whole mess has me confused. Young lady that is not an easy thing to do but you've always managed to bring my mind to confusion in a multitude of situations." Luna shook her head and before she could open her mouth again Usagi had grabbed her and the packet again before rushing out of her room and down the stairs, almost tripping down them in her haste, before landing with both feet under her in front of her dad who had just been about to call his children down for dinner.
"Daddy! Can I keep her? Also could I sign back up for my after-school activities? I already have the Jiu-Jitsu form here and mostly filled out! The kitty's name is Luna and I promise that I will take good care of her. I've already grabbed her some food and a bed so she can sleep in my room!" Usagi rapidly fired her questions and explanations as well as the packet at her dad before tearing off to the dining room in pursuit of the food she now smelled. She placed Luna on the floor next to her and after a quick thank you. she tucked into the food and had to make sure that her brother didn't end up stealing all of the rolls that had been placed out to go with the spaghetti dinner their mom had cooked.
-Later that night-
As Sailor Moon and Luna made their way out of the Tsukino house, Moon muttered about how short the skirts were and planned on talking to her Mother to see if she could change the uniform at all. Luna snickered under her breath at the girl and had to swallow her tongue as Moon picked the cat up and began the brisk run that got them to Crown Game Center where after taking the key from her hiding spot behind the plants in front of the door unlocked and slid them open just enough to sneak through. Moon set Luna down and she headed over to the Sailor V game which she then entered a code on the game controls before the game slid to the right and revealed a set of stairs that headed into a hidden basement.
"So Luna, this is the command center that my Mother and I use to keep an eye on the planet or send orders to Maéva, our awakened senshi who has been keeping an eye on England and throwing the Enemy off the trails here in Japan. She knows of some of her past…" Sailor Moon paused and began awakening the crystal-powered computers before turning the rest of the command center on "...Not all of it mind you, I'm sure that neither of us fully remember either but we remember important things and people." The senshi sat at a computer that seemed slightly recognizable to the cat but wasn't fully ringing a bell until the screen flashed to life and two very familiar faces popped up on the screen, a mini picture of what Sailor Moon looked like was in the corner and it was filled with a blurry blacked out human-shaped figure and while Luna could hear her ward perfectly. She was sure that a voice changer was in use so that Maéve couldn't (wouldn't) recognize the girl she and Artemis were talking to.
"Artemis, Sailor V. It is now time to start cleaning up what you can and take your investigation to Japan, specifically the Azabu-Jûban area of Tokyo. Make sure not to tip off the Enemy and remember no civilians are to know why you need to move location." Sailor Moon made sure to keep any emotion out of her voice so it wouldn't hint that she knew more than she let on, but made sure to keep enough in to make it seem that a lot was going on to get the point across. After shutting the system off Luna jumped up onto the main computer and pondered the graphs as Usagi went about making sure that no machines needed any repair (not that she would be able to do much but she could at least make sure they wouldn't get used) Luna paused her examination of the different computers that were on and stopped when she found the one that had the other princesses names posted with question marks next to their names. Luna, unsure of how the past would help, found that the info that was in the systems would be enough to help find them (minus Maéva) and stake them out to see if her findings would be correct. She looked up from the computer when a shadow passed over her, to see Sailor Moon nervously raking her hands together since she wasn't sure how to help and Luna could then see the exhaustion the girl had on her face. Luna then decided to take over this work for her and hopefully get more help since the Queen and now her Princess had entered her life again.
"Sailor Moon, I can take over from here so how about you show me the code needed to get in here and we can get you home so you can sleep?" Luna jumped to the girl's shoulder and could feel the release of stress that the girl had been holding. The cat looked at the memories that she could recall and decided that if her Queen no longer needed her, she wasn't really an advisor but the girl she had been following and had recently taken to keeping an eye on, who turned out to be her Princess, who was making sure Luna knew the back way in as well as the code to get into the command center, was still walking in this galaxy then she would be the advisor who helped the new era rise from the ashes of the old silver millennium. Luna nodded at the girl, tried the code, and when the machine slid to the side for the cat Sailor Moon smiled and Luna sent the girl home while she slipped into the center and closed the opening behind her. Sailor moon released the energy holding the transformation together and was thankful that she had thought to change into her pajamas before transforming into Sailor Moon, Usagi lifted her blankets on her bed before falling in and falling asleep before she even could curl into a ball under the covers. Luna began searching through the databases the control room had connected to and pulled up as many flies as she could to sort through to see if any might match the data of the princesses until she found one that seemed to be a pretty good fit.
The screen in front of the cat read this;
Name: Ami Mizuno
Birthday: September 10
Virgo Blood Type: A
Age: 14.
As Luna stared at the picture that was with the file something in her memories clicked and vague things started to come to the forefront.
-A few days, enemy fights and a drained Usagi later-
Bulletins hung across the schools were posted and had the student body up in a tizzy. The 10th national Practice Test 1st Ami Mizuno 500 2nd Yukiko Nagata 499 3rd Tôru Komiyama 497 4th Kumi Ichiyanagi 495 5th Yûta Hasegawa 490. A girl with hair the color of the deep ocean walked past the student body of Minato Ward Jûban Public Middle School towards her class with her study book opened to the current page she was working on. Her eyes the color of a clear blue sky closed at the whispers she heard as she passed. Say, did you see the results from the National Practice Tests? I sure did! And there was Ms. Genius from class five! Ami Mizuno! She got perfect scores again, making her rank first in the nation! Rumor has it her IQ is like 300! Is she even human?! The girl shook her head as she entered her class and sighed as once again her desk had been taken over by other students who were laughing and joking around with their friends.
"Really? Miss Genius? She got ranked so high?" Usagi asked her friends as she entered the classroom for once glad that she was able to get a full night's rest and was able to wake up on time to not only eat but grab her lunch and school bag before making her usual school morning dash to get to school. Her friends looked at her as she passed the front gate at her school, happy to note she wasn't late.
"Oh, Usagi! Good morning! You managed to avoid being late today!" Naru smiled widely at her blonde twin-tailed friend as Umino popped up in the middle of the group spooking a few of the girls. "You know that new school they just built, Crystal Seminar?" The girls looked at the boy with questioning glances and moved him out of the center of the group so they could still include him in the new conversation but still see each other. Usagi took up the last spot open which happened to be next to Naru and swayed with the girls as the conversation went on around her. They kept veering off topic but something in Usagi's brain clicked and she looked at Umino with curious eyes.
"Oh, you mean that exclusive elite night school?" Usagi said as she tapped Umino on his arm to gain his attention back to the topic she was curious about. Umino looked at Usagi and nodded enthusiastically. "I hear that's where Mizuno-san goes." Umino began going over what he heard could be learned from there but Usagi zoned out while her hearing started censoring what Umino said which got her thinking a little harder about the new building. Yumiko side-eyed Umino, while Naru pondered the building as well before Kuri popped in with a similar look that Umino had whenever he overheard something interesting. "Isn't that Crystal Seminar the new school they built near the game center? Papa said that it must've cost a ton to build!" Kuri sat next to Yumiko who scooted right into Naru's personal space in surprise as the others in the circle looked at her just as oddly as they did to Umino when he randomly popped into the discussions. Umino being the only one to not notice nor care since he thought it normal just continued with the conversation
"Mizuno-san's mother is a doctor, you know" He said nodding along to what Kuri said as if that had been common knowledge to the girls in the circle. Naru sighed and looked to the ceiling in exasperation, "A genius and rich? A completely different world from us." Yumiko looked through her eyelashes as she blinked at Umino, "But she's also got that icy attitude. Seems like a hard one to get to know." The girls continued to walk into the school as Umino veered off to do whatever he normally did early in the morning. The girls kept talking as Usagi made her way slowly behind them, "Rumor says she doesn't have any friends." Naru giggled at Yumiko as she finished talking and left the conversation off with the final word.
"Well of course! She spends all her time studying!". The day passed and Usagi couldn't get the rude way her friends made fun of someone who just happened to have a bit better luck than most of them. As they made their way out and invites were given to spend time together outside of school to do karaoke or get food, Usagi turned down the invites from her group of friends and headed to the gate with the game plan of stopping by the other dojo and grabbing the last packet she needed as well as hopefully dropping off the first one that her parents had finished filling out before she got up. Usagi reached into her bag and groaned looking at the test results before sniffling. "Aww! With my test results looking like this…." Usagi wiped the corner of her eyes, "Mom's going to kill me!" Usagi shoved the test back in the bag and plod off the school grounds while shuffling her feet slowly. Mom's been making a lot of noise about shoving me into night school recently ohhhh! If she does that I won't be able to train at the Dojos and Sensei looked happy to see me again. Usagi looked up as she sensed another person walking nearby and saw the blue hair of the main gossip topic Whoa! That's Ms. Genius from Class 5! Maybe I could try out a few classes at night school… Just as Usagi was about to turn off the main sidewalk she noticed a black creature falling from a tree above the genius student and noticed just who it was as the creature landed on the girl.
"Kyaa!" The blunette girl stumbled as the black cat landed on her head and as she went to stand up straight again, the cat jumped into her arms and cutely meowed at the girl. "Ah! You scared me!" The blunette safely held the cat as the cat began to purr. "A cat?" Usagi gasped to herself Eh? Luna?! What is she doing? The silvered blonde stopped in her turn before coming up with an idea, a faint memory tickling her brain before her idea to get Luna from the girl.
She slowly began walking up to the girl while hearing her speak to Luna. "If I wasn't living in a condo building, I'd be able to own a cat like this!" The blunette pet the soft velvet fur of the cat as Luna purred and curled up into her arms. A soft giggle escaped the girl as Luna's whiskers tickled the blunette's cheek, Pure joy radiating from the girl as she rubbed her cheek on the cat's head and let some of the stress go from her shoulders. "You're so soft! Tee hee hee!" The girl kept petting the small black cat in her arms and letting her happiness radiate just as the cat opened her eyes and looked over the hand that was petting her head before getting her feet up on the sleeved arm holding her up and using it to jump up on the silver blonde girl who just got close enough and was looking on curiously as a memory kept tickling away. "Huh? It's like…" Usagi flinched as Luna landed on her head "…she isn't anything like the others said. She is rather cute and sweet! Heh heh! Maybe I'll say something to her!" Usagi looked up as she finished her thought " Ahh! There you are, Luna!" she grabbed the cat whose eyes were attempting to pass a message along to her princess, Usagi raised a slight eyebrow at the cat "I'm sorry about her! Are you okay?" Usagi held the cat in a hug while motioning at the blunette who was still smiling cutely.
The blunette realized she had been asked a question before nodding "That cat suddenly came out of the sky! I thought it might have been an angel!" The smile came a little more serenely as she looked at the two and blushed a little when she realized what she said. Luna looked up to Usagi who looked at the blunette with a little shock. Usagi smiled lightly and giggled "Luna? An angel?" Luna kept attempting to pass her message to the blonde through her eyes which she could tell was not being passed on that well. Usagi smiled more openly and allowed her happiness to be fully seen. "This girl is kind of cute just like I thought!" Usagi nodded and giggled a little, "You're Ami Mizuno-san from Class 5, right? I'm Usagi Tsukino from Class 1!" The black cat perked up and popped into view "And the little one here, is Luna!" Usagi took in the shock from the girl in front of her with a small amount of evil joy.
A miniature version of Usagi with a set of horns and a pointed wiry tail appeared in Usagi's mind and danced with joy while she thought "If we became friends, then maybe she could teach me how to study better and what I should look for which will most likely be on the future tests! Then maybe I can go back to the higher grades I used to get! Ohhh! Maybe I can get better!" Usagi came too, realizing she had been walking next to Ami the entire time until Luna jumped out of her arms and ran off. "Ah! Luna!" Usagi looked up and realized they were near the game center and got another idea. "Umm…Do you ever go to game centers, Mizuno-san?" Usagi hugged her bag to her chest and rubbed the back of her head a little frazzled. "You don't, do you…? Ah ha ha…" Ami looked at the frazzled girl curiously before motioning her to lead the way, upon which Ami was ushered into a loud colorful area full of machines and a snack counter. Usagi grabbed Ami's hand and dragged the girl over to Sailor V the champion of justice Ultra action video game games which the silvered blonde 15-year-old girl squealed upon seeing a free machine before jumping on it to play a few games.
Ami stood at the wall behind Usagi staring at the screen as The girl went through the same dungeon a few times before finally reaching the mid-level boss. "That Sailor V game is sooo hard!" Usagi hit a few buttons which caused the game to shoot the gun she had Sailor V grab with a Pyuum Pyuum "I always end up dying in the game, I've gotten better at it but I'm nowhere near the end" GAM GAM GAM, the game showed the death screen again and Usagi wailed a little before throwing one more coin in. "Right! One more time! And then I think you should try Ami! I find this game to be super fun!" And with the game starting off Ami continued to stare at the screen staring at the way Usagi went and seeing a pattern of numbers which she analyzed as the sounds came ringing from the game. PYUUN CHARARARING, the blunette only began hearing the clicking of the buttons as she saw the numbers and the pattern. Numbers scrolled past Ami's eyes the sounds Klik Klik Pyuun Pyuun Klik Klik Klik going off in the background while she tuned everything else out while losing focus on the outside world. As Usagi began to get further in the game she got a little overzealous and began to lose her focus. She hit one of the traps and it killed her character off with a Ping which caused Ami to regain her focus as Usagi began to lightly whine about the loss of her coin. "Aww, that was the waste of a 100 yen coin! Waaah!" Usagi then remembered that she told Ami she should try playing and quickly turned around and happily held out her last 100 yen coin. "Mizuno-san, you want to try? I know I almost forced you but I feel since this is a pretty feel-good game I think you'd like it!" Ami nodded and politely grabbed the coin from her new friend and slotted it into the game before sitting on the stool and allowing her brain to take control of the game and let go of her personal control. All of the arcade only heard the sounds and the buttons. PHSUUN PSHUUN GAM GAM GAM GAM GAM GAM PSHUUN PSHUUN Klik Klik Klik Klik Klik. People began to notice that the sounds were only continuing and getting quicker as the girl playing only let her focus on the game get deeper, a light blue glow that only Usagi noticed began to show on the focused girl but everyone else noticed how good the girl was and began to watch. Usagi looked at all the people glad that the glow wasn't bright enough for everyone to see. "What? What?" more people began to gather around as the sounds began to get faster Pyuun Gam Pshuun GAM GAM GAM the onlookers got excited having never seen anyone having gone this far in the arcade game. OHHH! Usagi looked on in amazement and as the game and the boss came to the final showdown Ami continued to focus just as hard as the numbers scrolled faster and faster. GAM GAM GAM GAM GAM and with a final swing of the hero's sword Ami defeated the game with a PEEP! The final score screen popped up and Ami input her name ranking the top score in the game. Some of the other players who were watching up close cried out in shock "She got the top score?! Gak! You gotta be kidding me…" The players walked away as Usagi got her mind back in control and Motoki came upon them in surprise. Usagi cried out in her amazement, "Amazing! You're amazing, Mizuno-san!" She jumped up and down to showcase the amazement she felt and Motoki just looked at the girls in his shock "Wow! I never thought a girl could do that in such a short time!" CHALRRING rang out from the game and in the compartment that was on the machine rang out with a rolling sound of GAKOON and even Motoki was surprised about the girl getting a prize.
"Eh?" Ami caught the item that fell out of the machine and was slightly surprised as she went to identify the new item. "Something came out? Some kind of giveaway?" Ami held the item up to her face and then pulled it apart in the middle where it looked like two parts. "It's a pen." Usagi looked at her in shock and grumbled about lousy cats and their way of pulling people to their side before she began to complain. "EHHH?! I want one! I want one! No fair!" Usagi stood next to the machine and gave Motoki an apologetic look before pouting again. "Come on, throw in an extra for free!" She began to hit and kick the game "When you hit machines, things tend to come out!" She hit a few more times and began to kick it a little harder. BAMM BAMM and just as she was about to dent the machine something came rolling out with the game GAKOON and the long complaint of BEEEEP "Hey!" Usagi let out a sound of excitement "One did come out! I'm so lucky!" She held up the pen to show both Motoki and Ami her new prize. Motoki whined to Usagi and began to face the machine "Usagi-chan! I'm begging you! Don't break the machines!" Usagi acted like she didn't hear and showed her pen off to Ami even more. "It's soooo cute!" Usagi waved the pen around like a make-believe wand, and Ami giggled and freely laughed "You're pretty funny, Tsukino-san! Usagi giggled back and posed with the pen before winking and looking at her new friend. "Call me Usagi! And is it okay if I call you Ami-chan?" Ami nodded and looked at her friend who was just being herself around her. "Sure." The blunette smiled and looked up at the clock on the wall before jumping in surprise. "Oh, no! Is it that late already? I have to get to night school!" Ami and Usagi both walked over to the doors of the arcade in a hurry. "Oh, today was a night-school day?" It's close by, right? Crystal Seminar?"
Ami nodded and looked at the silvered blonde "Yes. I go every day." Usagi looked on in shock before realizing what was said, "Every day?!" Usagi began to worry about the girl who gave off a low glow. Ami again nodded and looked wistful, "The only thing I'm good for is studying, I want to become a doctor like my Mom, so I have to work hard." Ami walked out of the arcade and Usagi looked at the girl who sighed and put on her grim face again as she walked towards the new building. Luna popped out of nowhere and jumped onto Usagi's shoulder. "Really? A doctor? Cool!" Usagi looked at the black feline and sighed again before heading out and gasped as she remembered she was supposed to go drop off and grab the join forms for the Dojos she had been a part of previously and made a run for it with the cat hanging on for dear life.
