OBI-WAN

When their lips met, he stiffened in shock at the unfamiliar territory he found himself in. It was a gentle kiss he supposed, and when it broke Thalia pulled back just enough to gage his expression. Obi-Wan didn't give her the chance to decide, instinctively raising one hand to curl around the back of her neck as he leaned in to kiss her this time. Her lips were soft against his own and his thumb gently skimmed across the small scar on her cheek. He felt one of her hands rest on his knee while the other moved to grip his arm as their lips met again.

He'd ignored the will of the force for so long that it almost didn't feel real. These feelings he'd harbored for so long were finally out in the open for Thalia to do what she liked with them. He trusted her implicitly. After everything that had happened with the Jedi and their mission…

Obi-Wan's eyes flew open and he suddenly pulled away from Thalia, jumping to his feet.

Thalia looked up at him, alarmed.

"I-I'm sorry." He managed before turning and striding out of the room leaving Thalia alone.

When the door shut behind him, he pressed his palm against his forehead. What had he just done?

Obi-Wan turned back to the door, meaning to return, but changed his mind and turned towards the entrance way, hurrying as far away from the palace as possible.

He walked through the palace courtyard, through the city and eventually found himself at the city gardens. He sat himself down on a grassy slope, which looked out over the city. He tried to calm his mind. He'd sought through this, everything would be fine.

He gently ran his fingers over his lips. He could swear he could still feel Thalia's against his own. He groaned and flopped back against the soft, cool grass. Had he just thrown away his future as a Jedi by acting on his feelings for Thalia? Or had he thrown away his future with her by running away?

He tried to weigh up his two options, not believing he was even considering it. He could stay on Troska, with Thalia. Or he could continue his training and become a Jedi, never allowed to be more than friends with the Princess.

Obi-Wan groaned again and covered his eyes with his elbow. Maybe he was overreacting, maybe the galaxy wasn't caving in on itself, maybe after a few days' everything would go back to the way it had been if he just ignored what had happened, but he didn't want to ignore it. Not one bit.
