I want people to guess which Castlevania game Luz's dream memories are from. If you guess correctly, you could win a prize! Or not...probably not. But still, it's fun! And with that out of the way, enjoy the chapter.

The year was 1830. At an Austrian castle, a beautiful yet dangerous vampiress managed to summon her Lord of Darkness in the land of the living. Three hunters had arrived to stop her, only to have their Master kidnapped and the two younger hunters cast into an abyss. Determined to save his father, the eldest hunter instructed his young friend to flee and leave the Dark Lord to him. But the Young Hunter wanted to save his master as much as his friend, though, and set out on his own.

Using the power of an enchanted whip with the power to repel evil, the Hunter advanced through the castle and met up with his ally. After steadily gaining power, he had single-handedly saved the Eldest Hunter's life multiple times and defeated many of the monsters in the castle. Near the end of his journey, the Young Hunter was confronted with the horrible truth: His friend had been manipulated by the dark forces into forsaking his father and siding with The Dark Lord. After being forced to best him, the Young Hunter confronted the Lord of Darkness to defeat him and save his Master...

That dream was odd. Luz did not recognize any of the people as members of her family. Yet the whip that the hunter carried, light brown leather with a silver metal handle. She looked down at her own whip and saw that it was not the same color, being a darker brown and gold inlays around the handle, and having her family crest at the bottom of it. This was the very same whip used by her ancestors, yet it does not explain how there could be others like it. Had someone managed to recreate the whip of alchemy before? These were questions she wished to find the answer to...later.

For now, Luz got herself ready and soon enough met with Eda and King on the beach. What they were there for was...making Luz want to puke in her mouth.

"Well, Luz?" Eda said happily, elbowing the grossed out child. "Did you ever in your life think you'd see something as breathtaking as this?"

They were looking at a giant slug that was washed up on the shore. It was covered in trash and junk, had flies hovering over it and even they were dropping dead. The smell made Luz cringe in disgust.

"Nope. I don't think I would've." Luz said plainly, not enjoying the sight...or smell of the slug's corpse.

"Exactly." said Eda. "It doesn't get much more inspiring than a trash slug. It makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside. And then blam! It gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt. And then we get to sell the stuff it ate."

She says this while pulling a rubber chicken from the slug's mouth and then pulls out a pickaxe to start digging through the slugs corpse. But Luz was not amused as she crossed her arms.

"...Yeah, I'm not doing that." Luz said in a serious tone.

"Aw, come on Luz." King said while unfolding a towel and laying on top of it. "It's not every day you get to go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass."

"Ah. Nuts to you both." Eda said as she continue pick through the slugs corpse.

"This is degrading." Luz said straight on. "I wanna do something fun."

"What could be more fun than this?"

"I don't know...training with my whip, learning how magic works around here, things like that." Luz said.

Then Eda replied while tossing garbage. "Meh. Sounds like old boring school stuff to me."

"...Wait, you guys have school here?"

"Yep." Eda answered. "Winding towers, uniforms, things that could threaten your life, stuff like that. But they also suck the fun out of creativity with magic. They say it's meant to be proper, but I know that magic's meant to run wild and be unpredictable, yet spontaneous and passionate. Like an artform! I mean, haven't there been magic users in your family who would've thought the same way?"

Luz thought about that for a second. Most of her family wasn't really now having magic come naturally to them, but they did still use it in many forms and ways. Her whip was a key example.

"Good point." She said. "Still, I might as well go check the place out to see if it is all hype."

"How? You don't even know the way to the school." Eda said.

Luz screamed while running. "That's never stopped me before!"

"...Well, I guess more fun for me then." Eda said as she continued to dig through layers of junk that were in the slug's belly. One of which was a tuba that she ended throwing and it landed on King's said. Meanwhile, Luz walked through the woods and as she was out of view from Eda and the Owl House, she took out something that she swiped from Eda's closet. It was a silver medallion with blue crystals inside it. It glowed with energy, and when Luz held it in her hand, it almost made her feel like she was being revitalized.

"...I've seen this before." She said to herself. "It was from one of my dreams."

She examined it thoroughly, and at least the light that came out of it wasn't blinding. But she paused as heard someone's voice in the distance.

"You can do this. You know you can."

Luz stayed silent as she headed to the voice was, hiding behind some bushes, she saw a girl about her age, wearing a pair of round glasses and black uniform with pink sleeves for arms and legs. She was pacing around a cauldron, looking a little bit panicky as Luz spied on her.

"You can do it. Even if you get a bad grade, it's not a reflection of you as a witch." She said in a nervous tone. But then, she stopped pacing and continue talking. "And my parents are right. There are better opportunities on this track. Now, get to school!"

But as she was about to move forward, she heard what sounded like a crack and looked down to see that she accidentally stepped on a flower.

"Oh, no! Oh, little friend! I'm sorry!"

Luz watched as the girl drew a green spell circle around the crushed flower was amazed to see the flower perk back up and fully bloom.

"Hmm...that girl's got a good heart." She said to herself.

She continued to watch as then, another girl with green hair in a ponytail and wearing a uniform identical to the first girl's showed up. She was sitting on top of a cauldron, that was on wagon, that was being pushed by magic. She was also reading a book, but stopped just in front of the girl with glasses.

"Oh! Hey, Willow." The green haired girl said as she then jumped down from the cauldron and landed in front of the girl, now known as Willow. "Sorry about that. You're just so...unnoticeable, that I almost rain into you."

"Yeah...Hi, Amity." Willow said, unamused as the flower she just healed wilts.

Then the girl called Amity asked "Say, should you be getting to class early to start your-"

But then, she was cut off by the sound of rattling. Both girls turned to Willow's cauldron, which was shaking, but then it stops...then topples over, spilling out a purple substance and a visible eyeball on groaned.

"Ooooh..." Amity said. "Looks like you have to show. That's why everybody calls you 'Half‐a‐Witch Willow'."

"Ouch." Luz said silently. "That's gotta hurt."

"Thankfully, I know someone who likes to say hi." Amity said before turning to her cauldron. "Abomination, rise."

Then Amity's cauldron began to rattle before a mass of purple stuff rises out of it, solidifying into a humanoid form. It then bends out of the cauldron and stamps Willow on the forehead, leaving some mud in the shape of a star.

"You're a...star." The abomination said.

"Aw. It's just like mine." Amity said as she readjusted a star-shaped badge that said 'Top Student' on it. "Only much smaller and meaningless. As top student, it's my duty to tell you to keep at it." She then puts her hand on Willow's shoulder. "Even you could get a passing grade someday. Now, Abomination cower."

Obeying its command, the Abomination retreats back into its cauldron, which Amity puts the lid over and pushes the wagon back

"See you in class, Superstar."

As she leaves, Willow wipes the star from her head and growls.

"I hate it when she does that! I hate making abominations, and I hate that keep getting bad grades! I can't take it anymore!"

Luz watches as Willow gets furious and screams. Her eyes were glowing green as the plant life around the area reacted to her anger, with thorny roots and vines beginning to surround the area. One tries to grab hold of Luz by the ankle, but she quickly strikes it with her whip and then moves out of hiding, and it as then that she finds herself face to face with the girl, Willow. Her sudden appearance made Willow snap out of it and the plants began to retreat as it was the just two of them now.

"Oh my. I am so sorry. I...tend to lose control sometimes." Willow said to Luz.

Luz replied. "It's okay. I understand."

And it was then that Willow noticed something about Luz.

"Your ears. Are you...a human?"

"Yeah." Luz answered plainly.

"You're a human?!" Willow said excitingly. "This is astounding! A human! Here! In the Boiling Isles! How'd you get here? What are you doing-"

Suddenly, Luz had put her hand on Willow's mouth.

"Come down, Honey." She said. "It's not that big of a deal."

"But a human in this realm is extremely rare. How is it that you're" Willow was about to continue until they both heard what sounded like a bell...screaming?

"Oop! Sorry, I can't stay! I gotta get to class! I was nice meeting you! Gotta go, bye!"

Willow ran off, but Luz had decided to chase after her. Pretty soon, they were walking together.

"Hold on." Luz said to her. "Willow, right? That thing you did back there with the plants was incredible. You seem to be better at that than whatever puked out of your cauldron."

"...Thanks." Willow said. "But I'm not even supposed to be doing plant magic. My dads had put my in the Abomination track because of the opportunities that come along with it.."

"You have two dads?"

"It's a sorted story." Willow answered. "I just wish I could get a passing grade for once. Then people would stop calling me 'Half‐a‐Witch Willow'."

"Then why don't you just change classes?" Luz asked

"Huh?"

"Look, I'm not all one for school. But as for as I know, you have to stick to what you're good at." Luz explained. "And you seem to be good at plant magic. Nothing wrong with that."

"Well, it's not that simple for me." Willow said. "I have of people expecting things from me."

"I get that." Luz sighed. "Look, it's not much help, but what do you say to you and me heading to your school's principal and see if we can talk about getting you transferred to a different class?"

"You don't have to do that for me."

"I know, I get to. Now, let's go." Luz said as she took lead. "I've been wanting to check out this school anyway."

"Thanks." Willow said with a blush. "What's your name, anyway."

"Luz...Luz Belmont."

"Willow Park."

As they headed off to the school, they were unaware of someone hiding in the shadows, stalking them. They pulled out a red glowing orb, and talked into.

"They Belmont heading towards the school...send the necromancer."

It was a short walk to the place as Willow introduce Luz to the school she goes to.

"Welcome to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. Oh, and that's Principal Bump right over there."

She points to an older man with light beige skin, wearing an academic gown with a gold yoke, a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves and a blue stole draped over his shoulders. On his head was what looked like a demon eating half of his head as it covered his eyes with it's own, which teal eyes with bright yellow sclera. Luz and Willow walk over to meet with him.

"Miss Park." He said in a brash tone. "You're late."

"I know. I'm sorry for that." Willow said. "But I was busy practicing for class today. And I ran into a new friend."

Bump looked at Luz, who felt a sense of hostility as she was about reach for her whip.

"A human? Here?" He said. "What is your name, child?"

"Luz Belmont. I'm here with Willow to discuss about transferring her to another class."

"...Did you say 'Belmont'?" Bump asked, sounding almost scarred.

"You've heard that name before?"

"Yes..." Bump answered before turning to Willow. "Miss Park, I'll excuse you from presenting your project today, but for now, get to class. We'll discuss your transference later."

"Okay then." Willow said, as she walked away.

"I'll see you later, Willow!" Luz yelled at her.

"Miss Belmont, come with me." The principal ordered as Luz followed him to his office. "I've heard stories of your family name. I thought they were merely myths to scare children."

"Well...some of what my family's done has been seen as...unreal. But it's all true."

"I thought as much." Bump replied, before pulling out something from his desk. "I believe this may belong to you."

Luz looked at what Principal Bump displayed in front of her. It was a pretty old looking book, with a faded red color and darkening stains all over the cover. But the metal engraved onto the book, was spotless, even the mask that was on the center of the covered still glistened. Luz recognized this book as yet another relic from her dreams. It stored chronicles, tales and the dying words of many soldiers who had faced off against the forces of darkness.

"...This is a Travel Book." Luz said before facing Bump. "Where did you get this?"

"I found it in some ruins a long time ago." The Principal answered. "When I had read, it spoke of a tale of a brave warrior who had gone down a path of violence, peril and loss. His name too...was Belmont."

"Yeah...I've had dreams of people like him." Luz replied. "They're are memories of distant past, showing my ancestors, my family, fighting monster."

"So, it seems that your world has experiences sources of magic and power." Bump commented. "It's incredible."

"Thank you for showing me this, sir." Luz said as she gives the book back Bump, but he refused.

"Keep it. It belongs to you." He told her. "And no need for such formalities. Simply call me Principal Bump."

"Alright then, Principal."

"...So, according to your family legends, your family carries a special weapon known as the Whip of Alchemy, yes?"

"That's true." Luz said, as she pulled out the whip. "This is it. It's nothing special though. It's just a fancy whip."

Bump laughed a little, saying "So, it would seem."

Meanwhile, at the Abomination Track, the classroom was empty, except for the cauldrons. A hooded figure appeared rising from out the floor and looked to see each cauldron filled with an abomination. In its bony hands was a staff that it tapped the ground with and began to whisper a chant as dark energy came from out of the staff and into each and everyone of the cauldrons. Once it was done, the figure vanished as class began to start and the students had began to come in. Amity and Willow were talking to each other.

"I can't believe you managed to get excused from class today." Amity said. "Lucky you. Now people won't see how bad you are at it."

Willow kept it cool as she replied "Don't worry about me. After today, I think I might actually get my grades rising."

"That's cute." Amity said. "Never lose hope, Willow."

"Let's get this." The teacher had said. "I'm expecting to see perfection from all of you. If any of your abominations are a failure, then expect-"

The teacher was cut off when the cauldron's started to rattle, yet none of the students had called upon their abominations to do that.

"What are you all doing?" The teacher asked. "Stop that!"

But even the abomination that carried the teacher had suddenly let go of him and then moved the center of the class room. The cauldrons had begun to shake more violently as the teacher's abomination led our a roar and suddenly, all the cauldrons began to burst their lids open, with the goop heading the ceiling so hard, then broke straight through. This was enough to get the kids to run out of there as the entire classroom began to fall apart.

"Look, Principal Bump. I appreciate the offer, but I can't enroll into this school." Luz said as she exited the office.

"But from what you told me, you had descended from Magic Users on Earth." Bump said. "To know that there are humans out there with magic abilities is something this realm must see for itself."

"Be that is it may, it's different with me." Luz explained. "The magic I use is...temperamental, so to speak. It has limitations and I've yet to fully experience how it works. My dreams though, and what's in this book might just help out with that."

"I understand." Bump said, right before the two of them heard screaming. Kids from the abomination track were running away in fear as Luz and Bump looked to what was going on. Upon doing so, did someone accidentally run into Luz and they both fell the ground. That someone being Willow, who landed on her back as Luz landed on top of her. They both stared at each other awkwardly for a second.

"Sorry." Willow said.

"Just don't get angry."

"I won't."

The two got back up as Bump then asked Willow "Miss Park, what is going on?"

"We're not sure!" Willow said panicking. "The abominatios just started to burst out of their cauldrons and broke through the ceiling, making the whole classroom come apart! But it didn't stop there; now the goop is following us!"

"What do you mean by that?" Luz asked.

"LOOK!" Willow pointed and the three of them saw the abomination goop moving and creeping around the floor and ceiling like snakes and slime. If that wasn't the creepiest part, the goop started to speak...

"Don't leave us...don't go." It said in a legion of demonic voices. "We are nothing without you. We exist because of you..."

Those voices, they sounded to Luz. It made her feel like she was getting a head ache as she started to have a flashback to an ancestor's memory...

A warrior in red, having fallen to a path of darkness, found himself wandering the Demon's Castle in search for a way to escape it's demonic hold. But the sentience of the castle had discovered this and bled its way to its master's heart, wanting nothing more than to make sure he never leaves.

"Luz? Luz!" Willow's voice screamed as the human girl snapped out of it. "Come on! We gotta run!"

But before they could, Luz they all heard the screams of another girl, who they feared is the clutches of the abominations.

"That sounds like Amity!"

"I'll go get her! You need to get out of here!" Luz said as she was about to run off, but Willow clutched her by the arm.

"Are you insane?!" She asked her. "You'll be killed!"

"I got this...I'll show what I really am!"

Getting of Willow grasp, Luz run down the goop covered trail while Willow called out to her. She run over fallen lockers and chucks of stone that slowly sank as the goop had seemed to flood the entire hall. She found Amity hanging from the ceiling by a net of the stuff.

"Hold on! I'm gonna get you out!"

"How exactly?!" Amity asked screaming. And it was then that Luz wasted no time jumping and striking against the net with her whip. It took several hits, before the net exploded and Amity found herself falling. She thought she would've splashed into the flooded hall, but then found herself caught by Luz.

"Whoa!" She said before looking at Luz. "Thanks, I- Wait! You're human?!"

"Worry about that later! We gotta go!"

Jumping back onto solid ground, Luz began to run with Amity in her arms in search of an exit, but the abomination goop wasn't making it easy for her as the ground beneath her feet began to collapse.

"Get on my back!" Luz told Amity as she then did as told and Luz started to carry her piggyback style.

"You can't leave us alone." The voices said as Luz grabbed hold and climbed a collapsing piece of the floor, then part of the wall before retreating back onto the floor. "You will never escape!" Then Luz jumped from one hanging floor piece to another. "Don't you dare ignore us!" Finally, Luz had managed to reach the end of the hall to where the exit was in the next room. But then, something came bursting out of what remained of the floor and tried to stop the two from leaving...

"You left us no choice." The voices said as Luz burst through the thing with a kick. The girls found themselves in an open space, big enough to be an arena as they saw the abomination goop rebuild the thing, which turned out to be a golem made of stone and slime.

"Alright! Get out of here!" Luz said as she put down Amity and made her head for the exit. "Go!"

Amity was bewildered, seeing this girl looking like she was gonna hold it off with just a whip. "What?! You're gonna take that thing on your own?!"

"Don't worry about me!" Luz yelled out at her. "Just go!"

Amity was hesitant, but then ran for the exit, just before the slime closed it shut. Luz then felt something on her was glowing and looked to see that the medallion she had gotten illuminated in a heavenly blue color. The whip in her hands was also encased by the enticing shine as Luz saw the weapon...straighten.

"You'll never leave here." The voices continued to say as the golem finished rebuilding itself. Made out of pieces of the school and infused with the substances of abominations, with an abomination head making the face. "This is your fault." It faces Luz, who's seen twirling a bo staff that looks to be made of pure light. The energy of the medallion had infused itself with the whip and made itself into a brand new weapon for Luz to use as the voices of the abominations said "Look what your making us do!"

Without further delay, Luz had begun to use her new weapon against the stone golem. And each time she struck the monster, she could feel its very own life energy get sucked of itself and come into her. This was the power she discovered from that medallion, the power of light magic. But unfortunately, it did not last forever as the weapon then reverted itself to it's original form.

"Gonna need a lot more magic." Luz said as she continued to fight. The goop on the golem seemed to act as weak spots as when Luz struck the stuff, it looked to be in pain and voices scream in pain, yet when she hit the stone, it barely even flinched and it sounded to be laughing. The slime moved around the golem's body, beginning to cover its lower half. "This is your fault." It said as the golem stomped the floor and wave of slime came flooding out. Luz could barely jump over the attack and wasn't ready for when the slime came back and hit her from behind. But she didn't stop her attacks as the energy coming off the golem was enough to bring back her new weapon.

The kids still inside the school, those who were in hiding, were shocked by what they were seeing. Willow, who had not yet manage to leave the place, found herself staring at such an amazing fight. But she could still see that Luz was struggling to beat this thing on her own. After all, she was still just a kid.

"I must do something. Wish I could help." She told herself before looking around and saw that she was at the plant track hallway. This was perfect as she then headed inside the classroom.

"Where do you think you're going?" The voices continued to spew nonsensical dialogue as the golem charges into Luz, who was just barely hanging on there. Even with her whip and light magic, there was still so much she could take. Barely able to recover, Luz rose back on her feet as the golem stomps towards her. But then, all of a sudden, the floor beneath the golem began to crack open as vines suddenly came up and wrapped around the golem, pulling it to the ground. Luz knew that magic and saw that Willow, who had vines wrapped around her arm and going underneath the floor.

"Do it now, Luz!" She yelled out.

And without a word, Luz jumped on top of the monster and stabbed it in the chest with her light staff. "Why are you doing this to us?!" The voices said before the golem exploded over the power of Luz's weapon. The deed was done, and the goop that had surrounded part of the school had begun to dissipate. But not before the voices said at least one thing that made sense to Luz.

"Don't think you've escaped, my child...you've no idea what's coming."

Luz could tell that message was directly for her, she could sense it. But with the battle finished, the voices faded and everything seemed to have gone back to normal. Whatever was destroyed seemed to be perfectly destroyed as the kids and Principal Bump reentered the school.

"That...that was incredible." The principal had commented as the other students stood in awe of the human that had taken down the stone golem.

"She's...she's supposed to be human?"

"But humans can't do magic...can they?"

"Forget her! What the heck just happened?"

"...I think I've caused enough damage for one day." Luz said, as she began to walk away. Before she left though, she could see that Willow was pretty drained of energy. "Here. Let me help." She said as she pointed the Light Medallion towards the witch. As the light shined upon her, Willow felt rejuvenated within moments as she stood up on her own feet, no problem.

"That was amazing. What you just did." Willow said to Luz. "I believe you owe me an explanation."

"Someday." Luz told as she began to walk away. "Maybe I'll see you around."

Willow watched as Luz left the place, noticing how everyone else, including Amity were still in shock by what had just happened.

"Willow!" A voice called out to her, and she turned to see a young boy with black skin and dark brown hair, wearing a grey tunic with blue sleeves and leggings, coming her way...while also falling down a few times before rising to up to meet the young witch.

"Hey, Augustus." Willow said. "Glad to see you're okay."

"You too!" The boy known as Augustus said excitingly. "And did you see the human?! That was a human! And did you see what she did?!"

"I saw...and helped a little."

Back at the Owl House, Luz walking back to see that Eda and King were dealing with one of those trash slugs, which King pouring salt down it's throat before it shrivels up and runs off.

"I guess a few things while I was gone." She thought to herself before running up to her housemates. "Hey guys. What's up?"

"Oh, just finishing up a little friendly wager to see who could be a better teacher." Eda answered.

"Oh yeah? Who won?"

"Me!" Both Eda and King said, before King argued "No, I won! I should teach Luz!"

"You nearly got us killed by trying to teach a slug to do your bidding." Eda said. "Therefore, I get to have Luz as my apprentice."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who said you get to win me over like I'm some kind of pet?" Luz asked. "Besides, the only things I'm looking forward to learning are things about my past and doing magic my way. For instance, this little relic here helped me deal with a little infestation today."

She showed them the medallion, and Eda was wide-eyed to see it as she soon snatched out of Luz's hands.

"Hey! That's my Light Medallion!" Eda said angrily. "You have any idea how valuable this thing is to me?!"

"Sorry." Luz said. "I found it amongst the stuff in the closet. It got my attention more than anything else."

Looking at the amulet, Eda could sense the active energy that was coursing through. It was clear to her that Luz seemed to have used it today, and this was...promising. No one has used a relic like this in combat since...the brotherhood.

"Well, next time you say something from my stache, ask me about it first." Eda told her pupil. "But I'll still allow you use it, since you've managed to unlock its power."

Luz gave a nod as then, she heard a familiar voice coming from behind. She turned to see Willow, who now had green sleeves and leggings, along with the boy Augustus.

"Luz! Hey!" Willow called out as she stood face to face with the Belmont.

"I see you got transferred." Luz said plainly. "How does it feel?"

"Like I found where I belong." Willow said. "Anyway, there's someone who really wants to meet you."

Then Augustus got in front of Willow and extended his hand. "Augustus Porter! At your service!"

Luz gratefully shook his hand as she said "I knew an Augustus back on Earth. The rest of us just called him Gus. You okay if I call you that?"

"A human nickname?" Gus said excitingly. "Awesome! Now, I have so many question I have to ask."

"Yeah, so do I, actually." Willow stepped in. "Luz, how were you able to do all those things back there? The whip? The staff?"

"Should've saw that coming." Luz said. "I guess I do owe an explanation. I can only tell you guys so much, cuz frankly, I'm still learning. But someday, I'll tell you everything."

Eda and King watched from a distance as Luz started telling Willow and Gus all that she knew about this. And a smile grew on Eda's face.

"Someday, Luz...so will I..."

In case it's not clear to you all, I'm a huge fan of the Lords of Shadow series, so this chapter is just straight from out of the game. Although, I guess the memory from the beginning is a bit ironic and unfitting, but it's still Castlevania. I hope you guys take a guess at what game it is, who the characters are and what other stuff shows up in this story. It's gonna be fun.
