Sorry for my bad English.
Here is an attempt for a more original story for the team I created since I seems to be making not a good job on their adventures on the academy.
The time has come for the Beacon Academy to allow the students to start accept missions and help the four kingdoms in any way the huntsmen-in-training can.
Each mission could be a life changing experience or just a bore travel to someone's else property, it will depend only on the team who will take the mission.
For the team STRK, most of the missions were simple as keep guard to intruders or watch over the grimms near humans seatlement.
Except for this time.
-An adventure alongside an archeologist. -Sally Highwind, a girl with brown hair and chocolate colored eyes spoke. Strong willed and charismatic, she was the choose leader of the team. -This is so exciting!
Her partner, Trojan Unicorn, a girl with black hair and purple eyes, paid no attention to her, not with the headphones covering her ears and the music playing. She is considered a prodigy in her own by her teachers, intelligent and quick-witted but lacking in interest in the studies and training. Cold and quiet, she often uses only a word or two in the conversation she has.
-What is so exciting about help a geezer in look for old garbage? -Sally's third teammate, Koro, no last name, a boy with spike dark brown hair and always seen with a long black scarf asked, not liking the idea of stay away from the town he grew up. The most striking thing about his appearance is his missing right arm. When questioned what happened to his missing limp, he always says he lost in a bet.
-Depend on how things will go for the Professor, it may be the discovery of the century. -The last member of the team, Ryan Forest, tried to explain to his partner. Half of his face covered in bandages while half of his hair was not growing anymore, and the part not covered show his blue eye. Considered the strongest of the team, his combat skills exceed most of his classmates. However, the fact he is a coward makes people hard to believe in his skills. -Relics of the past may not only have monetary value but also historical, containing secrets that were long lost in the past.
-I could not have put better myself. -Sally stated.
The team STRK just accepted a very different mission compared to what Beacon usually accepts.
The well renowned archeologist, Professor Papyrus Scroll, requested for a team to be his bodyguards and assistants during his next expedition.
Ozpin, being a old friend of the Professor, accepted the request and put it on the academy's system for any of the teams take the mission. The brunette teamleader thougth about to be interesting in be part of an archeologist expedition and convinced her teammates to accept the mission.
What brings them to to where they are now, in a Bullhead with destination to a big desert area where only a few villages could be located, and old ruins could be found if anyone work hard enough to find it.
-Alright you brats! -The pilot spoke from the cockpit. -We are closer to where the old geezer is staying, so I will-literally-drop your guys here!
As the three and the half pair eyes went wide, the floor suddenly opened and they four immediately fell down.
-He just dropped us in the middle of the desert!? -Ryan asked.
-Oh c'mon! Don't be a baby! -Koro spoke. -Remember of your land strategy from the initiation?
-Still is no excuse to just drop us like that! -Sally shouts.
-But we don't have much choice, do we? -Koro's rethorical question was enough to make his point.
-So, everyone has your own land strategies? -Sally asked and notices that her partner was still with the headphones on. -Unicorn! -She called.
The quiet girl opened her eyes and only then notices that they were falling. Removing her headphones, she asked.
-What did I miss?
Sally groaned and then, heard the sound of electricity being charged. Looking to Ryan, she saw his body being enveloped by electricity until all was released down, sending the one eyed gunslinger up.
While Ryan went back up in the air, Koro pressed a button on his katana, making a cylinder move and the blade become a darker shade of grey. Spinning around in midair, a small tornado was forming around his body.
Unicorn pushed her leader closer to Sally hold herself on her partner, the quiet girl pulled out her weapon, a silver guitar, and started to play. A purple electric barrier surrounded both girls as they keep going down.
Koro's land was smoothed thanks to the small tornado he invoked while the electric bubble the girls were in slowly squashed against the sand until it blew without make a loud sound, Sally and Unicorn landing with no problem.
-Well, that was simple. -Sally commented.
-Not for Ryan, it seems. -Koro commented next.
This prompted the teamleader to look to above, waiting for the last of her teammates to land next to them. Instead of that, she heard a loud scream and something that seemed a comet coming down, and it seemed that was going to land far from where they were. The three teenagers followed with their eyes the 'comet' slowly making its way to the sand and with a loud 'BOOM', crashed on the ground.
Sally sighed, Koro groaned and Unicorn show no care, and they make way to where Ryan landed, or rather crashed.
What they saw inside of a cratter was the comic vision of the burned boy with his upperbody shoved on the sand while a pair of scorpions were stinging him.
-Ow... ow... ow... ow... -Ryan whimper each time one stinger tried to pierce his skin, his aura protecting him of course.
Sally pulled one of her guns and shot both insects before go help her friend out of the sand, until she notices both shots had startled him.
-I have nothing! -Ryan shouts even with his head below the sand, probably thinking that were desert bandits or something.
-Ryan, it is me. -Sally said trying to calm him down.
-I don't know any Me!
Sally sighed again and took both his ankles to pull him out, suddenly feeling more stronger than she physically is. She pulls him out, and Ryan stares at the sky above until his teammates filled his vision field.
-Got more brain damage? -Koro asked.
-Ha ha! -Ryan answered while pulling himself on his feet. -And Ozpin don't want to hear complainings.
-We have to talk to him about that pilot once we are back. -Sally started. -I know that must have not much runaways but he could have warned us before just trashing us out like emergency provision.
-What is done is done. -Koro said next. -We can deal with that bastard later. Now we must focus to where we should go next.
-He said that a village was not far from here. -Sally began. -Professor Papyrus must be there waiting for us. So it is obvious our next course of action.
-But the douchebag pilot did not gave us any useful information. -Koro explained. -How come we are going to find that stupid village?
-I saw a village in that direction while falling down. -Ryan spoke and pointing to a random direction.
-You could see a village even while falling down? -Koro asked.
-This is not my first rodeo.
-You keep saying that and we still don't understand what you mean. -Sally explained.
Since they had an idea to where they should go, they had no reason to beat around the bush.
A couple of minutes walking, they could see the small village Ryan mentioned, Koro also made a mental note to murder the pilot because there was no way all this walk could be put in 'near' or 'closer'.
-Unicorn, are you sure you should be wearing your jacket? -Sally asked to her partner.
Even with no sleeves, the brunette girl decide to remove her white leather jacket.
Ryan was born in Vacuo so he was used to the heat, different from Unicorn who came from Atlas and should be more used to the cold.
-I'm fine. -Was all she said.
-Are you sure? -Sally asked.
-I'm fine. -She repeated her last sentence.
Then the purple eyed girl fell on her knees, and buried her face on the sand.
-I think she's not fine. -Ryan spoke first.
-Thank you Captain Obvious. -Sarcasm was apparent in Koro's tone.
-How about you stop being a douche and help her? -Sally's question was directed to the ninja of the team.
Koro just waited Ryan remove Unicorn's leather jacket before he wrapped his scarf, glowing blue, around Unicorn's body and dragging her all the way to the village.
-She's not suppose to be smart? -Koro asked.
The walk to the small town took more than the team expected, but Ryan is pretty strong physically himself so he had no problem in carrying his unconscious teammate.
For a small settlement, the place was full of movement.
There were dozens of tents lined up with merchants trying to sell whatever they had.
-Well, here we are. -Sally began.
-So, professor Papyrus is somewhere here? -Ryan asked.
-It is what was told to us, right? -Koro asked.
-Well, we will not find an answer standing here and doing nothing, right? -Sally asked and turn to her teammates. -Let's look around to some hotel, the professor must be hosted not far from the entrance. And Ryan? -She turns to her last teammate. -Try don't break anything, ok? -She felt the need to request that, knowing that Ryan walks like he have two left feet.
With that, they walked through the market, looking from left to right and watching the activity happening around them. One merchant was selling some trinkets that caught Sally's attention, while other was selling some food that of course, caught the attention of Koro.
Unicorn probably would be interested in some different instruments lined up and the tent near, but Ryan was still carrying her unconscious form.
-Guys! -Ryan called his friends. -Can we focus?
-Just a minute! -Sally told him and look back to the trinkets.
While the teamleader keep looking, Ryan's partner slowly approach him, a strange look on his face.
-Don't tell me you're up to one of your shenanigans?
-I already did. -Was all Koro said.
-Guys! -Sally called her team. -Look just what I...
-MY FRUITS! -One of the merchands shouts. -SOMEONE STOLE MY FRUITS!
-Oh, just look at the time. -Koro said looking to an invisible watch in his wrist. -We should really meet with Professor Papyrus!
-Koro, what did you... -Before the teamleader could make her question, Ryan pulled her and dragged her away from the scene.
-Let's go at once! -Ryan shouts. -I don't want to be arrested already!
-One of the reasons I tolerate you. -Koro said following his team.
-I'm sorry? YOU tolerate ME?! -Ryan asked.
After losing the sight of the angry merchants, Koro surprised his teammates by discovering where professor Papyrus is staying.
The inn is called The Old Tomb, the most popular inn on the entire town, for the wrong reasons.
The place was build by the side of a graveryard and was not the only problem. The whole place seemed like could go down any second. On the entrance counter, cockroaches and spiders could be see walking around, the walls were full of cracks, the smell could knock down any unprepared folk, the floor seemed that could break after the first step, and the clerk was sharpening a sword in front of them.
Ignoring the looks he was receiving from the teenagers, he put down the sword and asked.
-Do you kids need something?
-W-well, we are looking for an gentleman who may be hosted in this hotel. -Sally explained.
-He is smuggling something? -The clerk asked.
-Uhh, no.
-He is running from the authorities?
-N-no.
-He took something from whoever is bossing you guys?
-No.
After the three first alternatives proved be wrong, the clerk thought for a moment before remembering of one last person.
-It is the skinny guy with a ridiculous mustache?
-That would be him.
-Oh right. -Said the clerk pointing to the left. -He is in the room number 13.
-Thank you. -Sally thanked and went along with her team to the room.
*CRACK!*
But the floor submitted to Ryan's strength and broke down, bringing downt he gunslinger of the team under the floor board.
It was not so hard to take Ryan out from under the floor board, yet they took cauntious steps towards the room where professor Papyrus is staying, because they could hear screams and someone begging for his life before a gunshot rang out.
After a walk that seemed to take more time than it seemed, they reached the room 13 and knocked the door. But since was Ryan who knocked the wood, the door easily went down. He stood there, with his fist raised as his teammates looked to the room from behind him.
-Good sir. -Spoke a voice with an strange accent. -You had no reason to literally knock the door, it was left open by those ruffians!
-Professor Papyrus? -Sally asked, surprised with the sight inside of the room.
The whole place seemed to have been cleaned out, by thieves. They even took the lamp of the room and left professor Papyrus all tied up, hanging on the ceiling, upside down.
-That would be me. -Papyrus said and eyed the teens with curiosity. -And who would you younths be?
-My name is Sally Highwind. -Sally introduced herself. -We are the team from Beacon Academy send to escort you in your expedition.
-Well, the time of you younths could not have been any better. -Papyrus said while shaking in his bidings. -First of all, could any of you free me from those hellish ropes?
-On it. -Koro said and materialized a blue shuriken on his hand.
He threw it, cutting the rope hanging the professor on the ceiling and sending him falling to the bed, with was lacking the mattress.
-Professor, who did this to you? -Ryan asked as he approached the professor to untie him.
-I heard someone knocking the door and suddenly, those wrapped men barged in my room and took everything they could put their hands on! Luckly, I hid my archeology tools inside the toilet bowl.
-Ew. -Sally said.
-So you knew that could be robbed and that's why you hid your tools. -Ryan stated. -So why did you opened the door if you knew you could be robbed?
-They said to be fans of my work and requested autographs. -Papyrus answered while getting back to his feet. -What kind of celebrity I would be if not granted such request to my fans?
-They were not your fans. -Sally said.
-You are no celebrity. -Koro spoke next.
-And they took your pants. -Ryan finished, pointing to professors.
Unicorn decide to remain silent.
-Youngsters, they do not appreciate the hard work of the elders. -Papyrus complained, also ignoring the fact he was without pants. -No matter. After this expedition, there will not be a soul in Remnant who will not know the name of Papyrus Scroll! With me, boys and girls!
Papryus proudly stated and left the room while the team STRK stood there eyeing the door where the professor just left.
-This will be some mission. -Ryan commented.
-Indeed will be. -Sally said next.
Finally, professor Papyrus came back.
-Any of you lads had a pair of pants to borrow?
End of the chapter.
The focus on the story is on the team, Papyrus will not reapper if I make more stories like that, or not so soon, it will depends in what kind of adventure they will get themselves in.
I will wait to the feedback to see only if I will continue to make stories like that, it doesn't mean that I will let this story die if the feedback be negative.
One last thing to mention is that the next chapters will be longer to make this story least less than ten chapters.
That's all folks, see you next time!
