The Owl House Trio were at a Slayground, where Eda watched over King while he was trying to making the local kids his peasants while Luz was writing down in her journal about Devil Forgers. Since her encounter with Mattholomule, Luz has been a little on edge and has been trying to gather up all the knowledge she can get on her family's historic bestiary. Luckily for her, the last few nights have been filled with intensifying dreams in they painted a clear picture of all Night Creatures Luz's ancestors have faced. But this was still a big concern, even for Eda as she eyed Luz having her face all the way in her book.

"Kid, you've been scribbling in that journal of yours for 5 days." She said, trying to get Luz's attention. "You need to relax."

"Have a huge bounty on my head, Eda." Luz replied. "Anyone can claim it. I don't know who to trust. I shouldn't even be in public right now!"

Sighing, Eda took Luz by the hands and made the girl stop writing for a second and look at her, straight in the eye.

"You need to relax. If what you just said is true, then maybe I would've turned you in by now. It's thanks to your family's reputation that a lot of people in Isles avoid you. 'Cause they don't want to get on the wrong side of that whip."

Luz looked down at her whip, that rested by her side.

"And besides, even your ancestors knew their limits and when to relax." Eda continued. "You should just sit back and enjoy the show like me!"

"What show?" Luz questioned, as Eda pointed down on the Slayground, where King was sitting on top of a slide as if it were a throne. He was having the kids 'bow' to him until one of them, a 'usurper', ends up pushing King down the slide. To at which point, he runs and complains to Eda about it.

"Eda! That monster just took my throne!" He yelled.

"You mean the baby?" Eda asked.

"No, the Usurper!" King replied. "I want you to go over there and blow him up. Kaboom!"

"Kaboom!" The 'Usurper' yelled while riding a spring rider.

"I'm not gonna blow up a five-year-old." Eda replied. "Besides, Owlbert is still, collecting more relics for Luz."

"How do you get Owlbert to do that?" King asks Luz.

Luz replied "I pay him in mice."

"Even though, he's not exactly meant to eat." Eda added.

"Fine. Don't help. Revenge will taste all the sweeter if they fall by my hand alone." King laughed...before the kid comes and pushes him down in a game of tag.

"Tag, you're it!" The kid said before running off.

"Oh, here we go." Eda said. "King's squeak of rage."

As King gets up while growling, he lets a loud, high-pitched scream that was more adorable that scary as he runs off at the slayground. All the while, Eda and Luz enjoyed how that sounded.

"He is like a little teakettle." Eda laughs.

Luz replied "Okay, I have to admit that was adorably funny."

And then suddenly, Owlbert shows up with a rolled up paper in his claws and drops it directly into Luz's lap.

"A note" Luz asked as she unrolled the paper.

"What's it say?"

"It's a letter...from the Bat Queen?" She said, getting Eda's attention even more as Luz read the note out loud.

To the Belmont, a creature you're familiar with has gotten into my home. With your skills, I ask of you to dispose of it. You shall be rewarded handsomely for your services.

- Bat Queen

"Seems to me like the Bat Queen is having trouble with a Night Creature." Luz said. "I can't really catch a break, can I?"

"Sorry, Luz." Eda said.

"It's cool. I live for this kind of stuff anyway. But how am I supposed to know where the Bat Queen."

"Owlbert can take you there, no problem." Eda answered. "Just be careful. If a Night Creature doesn't get you, I should probably point out that the Bat Queen's territory is filled a bunch of bizarre animals."

"Nothing I can handle." Luz said, getting herself ready until she stopped herself. "But wait. I was planning on going with Willow and Gus to a Grudgby match."

"Since when are you into sports?"

"Since I needed something to take my mind off of all that's been happening." Luz replied. "Hmm...what am I gonna tell them?"

"I can't believe she talked us into this." Willow said as she and Gus were now with Luz as they walking through the forest as Owlbert lead the way.

"Eh. We missed the bus to Glandus anyway." Gus said plainly.

Luz said to them both "I've seen the history of your Grudgby matches. It's a miracle that nobody died in the past!"

Willow and Gus look at each before looking back at Luz saying "Well..."

"Whatever." Luz interrupted. "It's just another quick for the Bat Queen. I'm used to fighting Night Creatures, so we have that on our side."

"Wait, we're actually doing a job for the Bat Queen?" Gus said excitedly?

"Yep. And if you help me, I'll let you in on anything she gives us."

"We're in!" Her two friends say together. And with that, they ventured deeper into the woods, soon entering a cave where the Bat Queen's nest was visible by a path of bones. The only thing that was absent was the Bat Queen herself and her children...that was until something swooped by and circled around the teens. This made them keep their guard, until they came to face with...the Bat Queen's babies.

"Oh. It's you guys!" Luz said, petting one of their heads."How are you doing?"

"You know them?" Gus asked.

"I helped babysitting them before." Luz answered. "Now, where's your mother?"

Owlbert hooted as he pointed into the shadows, to which the Bat Queen stepped out of.

"Ah, Young Belmont." the Bat Queen said. "You came."

"Yes. I got your message." Luz said "You needed help with a Night Creature?"

Willow then said "Luz, don't you think you should sound more respectable?

Luz gave Willow a look before looking back at the Bat Queen.

"Yes. A monster, not recognized here on the Boiling Isles. But perhaps, from you." The Bat Queen said.

Luz then asked "Have you seen this monster? Can you describe it?"

"An Undead, giant, armored and with a spear...no head on it's body."

Luz thought about it for a second before a name came to mind.

"Dullahan."

"Dulla-what?" Gus asked.

"It's a kind of boss-level monster. It's not easy to beat." Luz explained, then she asked the Bat Queen. "Where did you see it?"

"West forest." The Bat Queen answered, pointing with her wing. Luz gave her a nod as she started to travel there, with Gus and Willow following behind.

"So Luz, what exactly are we dealing with here?" Willow asked

Luz explained "Dullahan is a headless knight who was once a human warrior that fought against the forces of the Prince of Darkness Centuries ago. He was famous for his skills with a lance and his disembodied head, he'll either be holding in one of his arms or it'll be floating and shooting fire."

"...Is that it?" Gus asked.

"He's a lot more menacing than how I make him sound." said Luz. "And I know there are others about him that I need to know, I just can't remember them all at once."

"Welp, I guess we won't really know what we're dealing with til we get there." Willow said as they continued to walk. That was until they crashed into a...metal wall in the middle of a forest. But then, they backed up to see that it was not a wall, it was a giant armored foot that was about twice their height as they looked to see the rest of the dirty armored body, holding a huge spear in one hand...and a giant decomposing head in the other. And it was looking straight at them...

"Oh yeah...I forgot...he can change size." Luz said awkwardly. "...RUN!"

They all scattered as the Headless Hunter sent his lance down on them. And with that attack came a whole lot spikes bursting out of the ground, to which Gus was caught in the middle of. Luz wasted no time attacking him, striking him through his armor with her whip as she tried to get his attention. Dullahan retaliated by swinging his lance over to her, forcing Luz to backflip over it. Willow decided to help as she summoned vines from the ground, wrapping around Dullahan's body and keeping him from moving.

"Luz! Now!" She yelled out, as Luz nodded and climbed up Dullahan. She was about to attack the head, until it engulfed itself in a ghastly green fire then started to levitate out of its hand. Willow was not expecting this as the head saw her laughed demonically. Then, it came straight at her. But suddenly, Gus had jumped and did a flying kick to the head, landing straight in its face, knocking it out of the air and onto the ground. Both Gus and Willow were surprised by how Gus handled that.

"Okay, that just happened." He said.

Unfortunately, the body was starting break free from its bonds as the vines holding it snapped and Luz was forced to jump off. She whipped the chest of the body as much as she could before the saw the lance coming her way and was forced to dodge again. Dullahan's body reaches out for his head, just comes up again and floats back into his hand. And with that, he puts on where it should be, between his shoulders, which allows him to blast beams of energy from his mouth, sending them to the trio, who ran for their lives, avoiding his attack. Removing his head from his body, he sends out another wave of projectiles, which Luz reflects with her whip.

"How are we supposed to BEAT THIS GUY?!" Willow yelled out.

Luz thought about it until saying "Aside from aiming for the head, let's try and get that lance out of his hand."

"Do we have a plan for that?" Gus asked.

"Well, since you asked..." Luz said. "Gus, bring up some illusions to distract him, Willow, use your vines to get the Lance, then I'll finish him off."

They each nod as they set their plan in motion. Gus created illusions of himself, Willow and Luz, whom Dullahan was confused by when he saw his attacks do nothing. This allows for the real Willow to summon vines, that wrapped around the arm with the lance. With all her might, Willow gave it a massive pull which forced Dullahan to let go of his spear as it lands on the ground, powerless. He was about to send his head out, when Gus suddenly kicked out his own hand again.

"You're on fire, Gus!" Luz said to her friend, which Gus nodded in excitement. "Now, it's my turn!"

With Dullahan completely disarmed, Luz gave him all he got. Then, she looked back at the lance and got an idea for a finisher. Wrapping her whip around the weapon, she sends it flying into the air as looks to see Dullahan's head coming back for another round, just like she wanted. She whipped the head over to the body, making it fall down and then...

(BAM!)

The whole body and head was impaled by the lance falling back to the ground. The deed was done, the trio had defeated Dullahan as its body dissolved into nothingness, leaving behind only the lance, which reverted to normal size. Luz took the weapon, making it so that it would be proof that they did their job and they headed back to the nest of the Bat Queen.

"Sorry you guys had to go through all that with me." Luz said.

"It's cool. We're actually getting pretty used to this." Willow said.

"And this time, it was actually less scary and a whole lot more fun!" Gus yelled excitingly.

Luz smirked at Gus' enthusiasm. Monster hunting is no easy job, but it can be enjoyable at some points. Returning to the nest, Luz presented Dullahan's lance to the Bat Queen.

"You defeated the Night Creature?" She asked.

"Together." Luz smirked. "There was nothing to it."

"Thank you, Young Belmont. I am forever in your debt. These forest are not only my home, but home to all."

And it was then that they noticed that woods were filled with...

"Palismans?" Willow asked.

"They're all broken." Gus asked.

"With that creature, we would not be safe. Thank you." The Bat Queen said to Luz.

"Um..." Gus started. "Luz said that there would be a reward."

And it was then that chest fell on top of both Willow and Gus.

"And as for you, Young Belmont." And it was then that the Bat Queen gave Luz an artifact. A silver dagger with a golden engraved handle. Holding it in her hands, Luz can sense a familiarity in it.

"I know your family has been before...Does this belong to you?" The Bat Queen told Luz as the dagger glowed in her hand. Upon examining it, one word came to Luz's mind... A while later, Luz returned to the Owl House, where she saw Eda and King looking a little roughed up. She opened her mouth to ask what happened, but Eda beat her to it.

"Demon hunters." Eda said out loud. "Almost got caught while King tried to take back his thrown on the Slayground.

"Totally worth it though." King said. "So, how was you're day?"

"How'd you job for the Bat Queen go?"

"It was actually pretty fun?" Luz said before taking out the dagger. "I also got this from here. Look familiar, Eda?"

Upon seeing the dagger, Eda recognized it as a weapon from an old friend.

"...Victor."

"My thoughts exactly." Luz replied.

Hey, guys. I need another question answered. When do you guys think I should introduce the Golden Guard, Hunter? Because I have some ideas for him, and I need to know when's the best time for him to show up.
