There was once a man who had been given the moon's curse by demons. Wrapped in crimson garb with eyes like fire, he relentlessly pursued the demons who cursed him. As he journeyed from one pit of darkness to another, he would stop at nothing until he struck down every last demon in his path . . .

One night, he sensed the looming presence of a great demon. He swore to eradicate all demons, no matter how much of a threat they posed. Bathed in moonlight, he cried out as he drew his sword, which consumed the darkness from within its wretched steel. On that night, either the demons, or the moon itself, would feel the wrath of his blade...Wait a minute. Wrong game.

At the market, Eda and King were busy trying to sell their 'Human Collectibles', but no one was even batting towards them, even with King screaming at them.

"Partake of my free snack samples! Take it! I demand it as your ruler, the King of Demons!" To which no one even looked his way as he through the tray of snacks down in frustration. "Nyeh! Why isn't anyone paying attention to me? I'm their rightful overlord. Intellectually and such."

Eda, however, wasn't even paying attention to King herself. She was still examining the dagger that Luz was reward by the Bat Queen. She recognized it anywhere was of the Belmont's prized treasures, used the time traveler of the family and her late great friend, Victor. Both she and Luz stay up all night examining it, wondering how it even got into the Isles.

"...Did you say something, King?" She finally spoke out, to which King groaned in frustration.

"Why isn't anybody paying attention to me?!"

And it was then that Luz came by, hearing everything King said and replied "I can answer that. There's apparently a book fair in town today, and it seems to be getting the attention of every brainiac on the Boiling Isles."

"No wonder it reeks more of nerd than money as of late." Eda replied, seeing the nerds come and go.

"A fair without rides?" King asked, to which a boy suddenly showed up and shoved a book in his face, saying "Who needs rides when this can take you anywhere?"

Not amused, King throws a piece of bacon at the boys head, making a wing demon come down and swoop the boy from off the ground

"I suppose you're going to be using this book fair to search for anything on your family's history?" Eda asked Luz.

Luz replied "It's a bit of a longshot, but I can't hold back on any possible leads."

"Well, good luck. If you need me, I'm gonna find something to do to pass the time. Perhaps pickpocket a few people."

"Eda..."

"Hey, I need the money anyway." And with that, Eda was off, leaving Luz and King alone.

"So, you wanna come along, King? I'm betting there's a lot of people who you could gain worship from."

"Hmm...possibly." King said, thinking about it. "I'll go, but only if I get to ride in your hoodie!"

"Sure." Luz replied, letting the tiny demon into her hood, as they eventually headed their way towards the book fair. Luz wasted no time looking for anything that could be of use to her and her research. But so far, there was no luck, as the fair only seemed to have fictional/self-made books to work with.

"They got just about everything. A zine-making workshop, meet and greets, but not anything I could really use. Come on, King, we're wasting our time here."

"Hold on! Wait!" King yelled, grabbing Luz's hair and forcing her to turn around to a sign that spelled out "Writing Competition, Enter Today!", over two others that were signing out books to lines of people. "There's a writing competition here. You're pretty good at the stuff, not to mention drawing such insane monsters and characters. You should enter!"

"King, I'm flattered, but I'm not really into publishing my own books right now. I'm focused only on learning my family's history..." Luz replied before thinking about it. "Then again, the stuff in my journal and travel book could possibly sell...No! That stuff is personal! I'm not gonna do it!" And with that, she turned around and headed back to the House.

"Wait, Luz! Come on!" King pleaded, seeing the two authors, one of them signing a man's child.

"I'll sign anything!" He screamed before laughing maniacally.

"Such power. Such command he holds over his minions. I must have the same! Luz, if you're not gonna enter the competition, then I will and I'll win!"

"Really?" Luz asked. "And what kind of book, pre-tell, are you planning on writing?"

"...I'll think of something!" He responded. "After all, you can give me loads of information! I-I-I mean...inspiration."

Luz looked at him suspiciously before continuing to walk away, saying "Just don't go stealing any ideas, King."

"I wouldn't dare dream of it, Luz!" King yelled happily, running behind her.

Meanwhile, Eda was looking through any books she could find interesting, and only one stood out for her as she stole it off the shelf and has had her nose buried in since then.

"At journey's end, the Crimson Warrior protected his allies, at the cost of succumbing to the darkness. In order to stop him, his allies venture forth once more. They may have to take their ally's life, but can they still have his soul...?" She read aloud, admiring not only the book but the picture of the main character, a warrior who's design is a fusion of a western-style coat that was prominent in the late 1700s and traces of Japanese elements in that it's kept half-open. She was practically drooling over him.

"This guy sure seems like a real piece of work. But man, he can slaughtering demons look hot." She gawked until she heard a familiar voice.

"You there, lackey. Do you have the item we discussed?"

Hiding behind a banner that says "READ OR DIE", Eda spied on her sister Lilith receiving some kind of map from a brown, hairy, merchant. "Excellent." She said. "A map to the Bloom of Eternal Youth. I think the emperor will be very pleased."

"Bloom of Eternal Youth?" Eda questioned.

And it was then that a Coven Guard and approached Lilith, speaking up. "Ma'am, shouldn't we be searching for the Owl Lady to join the coven? Remember that whole plan."

Lilith remained silent, gripping the map in her hands as she replied "My sister's curse leaves her frail. She'll still be here when I get back."

Eda watches her sister leave and shows a deepening scowl.

"She's clearly forgotten about what happened last time." Eda said to herself. "As well as clearly fallen for a scam. I'll show how frail I am, sister."

Back at the Owl House, King was getting on with trying to make a book. Luz was reading her Travel Book, not helping, but she did give King some ideas on what he should start off with.

"They key to writing a good book is brainstorming. Write down any ideas you have in mind, no idea is a bad idea."

"Uh-huh..." Then King begins to write on a piece of paper with a red crayon. "Mhm. Done!"

All he wrote down was the word 'VIOLENCE.', which Luz gave a duck face to. "...Is that all you have in mind?"

Scribbling again, King then held up another piece of paper with the word 'BLOOD' written on it, and a smiley face next to the word. Luz let out a sigh.

"King, you need to have more than just violence and blood in your story. You have to have, details, plots, characters."

"I already have a main character in mind." King explained. "The Ki-er...The Ruler of Demons!" He then shows Luz a drawing of a stick-fig version of himself. Luz just gives off the expression (-_-'), then says "Well, at least we know how your story's gonna go."

"What do you mean? I haven't even explained it to you yet."

Luz replied "Let me guess. In your story, the Ruler of Demons just destroys everything he sees."

"Hey! At least it's realistic!" King complained. "I bet if you were to right a story, you would just do a lot of shipping."

"Please. What would I know about shipping? Half of the woman in my bloodline aren't even named in the history books."

"Really? Wow, that's...kinda sexist."

"You have no idea." Luz says as she leaves the room. And now that she had mentioned it, King's brained hatched an idea?

"You know, this could go a lot easier for me if you let my take a peak at your journal." He says to Luz, making her look back at him. "And maybe that travel book too?"

"I already said no, King." Luz said in a serious tone. "That stuff is personal to me, and I won't let you turn into a story where you make a mockery out of my family's history."

"Come on! That's not even what I was-"

"No!" Luz said loudly, making King silent and wide-eyed. Then, she points at him. "King...I'm warning you. Go anywhere near those books, and you'll be sorry."

And with that, she walked out of the room and slammed the door close. For a moment, King was a afraid of her before his mischievous personality returned. He then saw that Luz had mistakenly left her books right in the room, and in his reach...

"Heh. How is she going to know?" He asked as he decides to open the books and skim through them. Mostly looking at the pictures before getting to what he wanted for his story. "Wow, her penmanship is great, these demons look really realistic...and perfect for what I have in story for my story."

Meanwhile, Luz headed out into the Living Room to see that Eda seeming to be prepared to head out herself, having a cloak, her staff and belt with a holster for something readied. She was about to ask when Eda interrupted.

"Long story short, I gotta go stop my sister from making a huge mistake."

"Your sister?" Luz asked. "Why would you help her out? She's practically hunting us."

"She's more merciful with me than she is with you...if that makes sense." Eda explained. "In any case, I'm just gonna stop her from falling for one of those scams that you and I were tricked into before."

"I see. Good luck then...and tell your sister I said hi."

Eda smirked as she replied "Will do." Then she left. Luz had a smile on her face right before King came rushing out of the room he was making his story with and was heading out the door himself.

"I'm off to go show my superior story to everyone! See you later, Luz!"

Leaving Luz alone in the house, she decides to head back into the room, seeing numerous doodles of King and screaming people.

"Yep, it's about what I pictured." She said to herself, but then she heard a voice...coming from the typewriter.

"Hey, man. You might wanna take a look at what he wrote." It said, motioning to the pages on the desk. "I made copies."

Deciding to take a look, what she read made her blood boil and made her rip the pages to shred.

"King, you are SO DEAD!"

Later, at Grimgrub's Pub, a mysterious cloaked figure was watching over the place from the rooftops as it covered any bare skin under its cloak.

"Even in this demon realm, does the sun still offend us." It snarls. "But there be no time to waste."

"Indeed." said another cloaked figured, suddenly appearing. It's voice, more raspy than the first. "The magic given to us is most beneficial. What better way to inflict it than to use it on the Belmont's pet?"

Speaking of which, King was just thrown out of the Pub for trying to get its patron to read his book. Then, a Snappily Dressed Lizard came by a read his book, then then to get to talking, then to King signing a contract as the two walked away. The two cloaked figures were still standing on the roof as it happened, and the second one smacked the first across the face.

"Why didn't you use the magic?!" It growled.

The first replied "We must be cautious." Then, it revealed to his comrade a crystal in the shape of a rose, surrounded by Enochian glyphs. "This magic is unpredictable. A single shard is enough for a pure orphan to stand alone against our master's army."

"Fine. But the next time you see any of the Belmont's vermin allies...do not hesitate to use it."

Meanwhile, within the woods, Eda was continuing to follow Lilith to so called "Bloom of Eternal Youth". And during the time she was following her, did she have to bare witness her sister going up against a whole lot of night creatures, which she found very entertaining since Lilith clearly never had to deal with such demonic beasts. Of course, Eda on the other hand, having training from the brotherhood of light, was able to take on her share of monsters that came after her as she just finished up driving the blade of her combat cross through a Warg's skull.

"This takes me back to when Victor and I would go hunting." She sighed. "I just hope Lilith doesn't get herself killed by these things."

Speaking of whom, Lilith was not doing very well. First of, she was surrounded by skeleton soldiers and a Warg was biting at her staff. She would've been done for if it wasn't for Eda setting those enemies ablaze with fire and ripping the Warg apart with her cross. This caught Lilith by surprise as she saw her sister walking towards her across smoldering ashes.

"Edalyn?"

"Lilith." She said, putting away her weapons. Lilith then grew a scowl and rose herself back to her feet, facing Eda.

"And of course you would be here just to be a nuisance." She said in a smug impression.

Eda replied "Actually, I'm here to save you from making a stupid mistake. You're being tricked into finding a Bloom that doesn't exist."

"And how would you know that?"

"Because I've seen this tricked before. And if you don't believe me, then follow me and I'll show you."

But, Lilith wasn't gonna listen as she then said "Why don't you go home and rest? Wouldn't want you breaking a hip."

What she didn't see coming though was a flying high kick from her own sister. Nearly broke her jaw, and her skull as she was launched into the air before hitting the ground, hard. Regaining her sensing, she saw Eda towering over her, not looking too happy after that last comment.

"Still think I'm too frail, sister?"

Lilith groaned in pain as she felt her jaw. "Where did you learn to kick like that?" She asked, as she slowly and painfully got back on her feet.

"From people I truly consider family."

That one heart more than the kick as Lilith sadly looked at her sister, who was shooting her a look she would give an enemy.

"Now, if you excuse me, I have to go find this so-called 'Bloom of Eternal Youth' and destroy it." She said as she took off, but then Lilith growled angrily as she took after her.

Overby the library, that was under reconstruction after the lesser demon attack, King and Piniet were at a table with an extensive line in front of them.

"Your fans are dying to know when your next book comes out!" Yelled out a fan.

King, in all his smugness, replied "That's between me and my publisher, right Piniet?"

"Yes. Ooh pardon me, I need a few moments of King's time." The publisher said as the two were about to leave the crowd...but not before Luz came, barging through, looking very...VERY mad!"

"KING!"

"Luz?!" He screamed back, now very frightened by her. Piniet stepped in, though, starting to say "Excuse me, but are you to-"

But then, the last thing his right eye saw was ancient leather that was still strong after all these years before Luz's whip met with his face, causing his right eye to be plucked out and land on the wall before sliding down in blood. The crowd was frightened as they recognized Luz as public enemy number one.

"It's the Belmont!"

"Run!"

"She'll kill us all!"

And with that, they dispersed. King was about to run as before a spot on the ground turned to a crater from Luz's whip, as the Belmont stomped her way over to the shivering demon. Picking hm up by his non-broken, Luz glared at King, straight in the eye.

"I told you not to use the contents of my books, but you wouldn't listen!"

"Luz, I'm sorry, but it made my stuff sell like crazy!" King gave as an excuse. "Everybody worshipped me!"

But Luz wouldn't have it as she yelled "Well, now you're going to tell everyone the truth and never write anything again!"

However, Luz felt a darkened aura nearby, and looked over the lizard demon whose eye she just whipped out his head. And it was then, she noticed of the giant purple crystal that looks to have been impaled through his body. All the while, at the rooftops, the two cloaked figures from before were bearing witnessed to what they have conceived.

"You missed." The raspy voiced one said.

"Worry not. The results are all the same."

Piniet looked limp as a dark aura showered over him and Luz kept her guard up when he turned to face him, his eyes glowing red.

"You won't be telling anyone anything..." He said in a more demonic voice, and it was then...that his body began to tear itself apart from inside. Within moments, the publisher was nothing more than a lifeless husk of flesh as new demonic monstrosity ripped itself from his body and itself its horrendousness to the Belmont and the shriveling demon among her. It was a humanoid demon, but with it's ribs exposed and spikes coming from its arms legs and chest cavity. Green demonic energy flowed through its almost liquid like body, and even burst through its back as Luz notice of its three heads, one of a snake at the end of its long tail, and one of a horse next to its true head, which appeared that of a human skull with a sharp violet visor covering it. It was truly a demonic monstrosity, but the very sight of it left Luz blank of any experience with such a beast.

"Uh...L-Luz? Y-You've faced guys like him before, right?" King said nervously.

Luz admitted "Never seen him before in my life. But That's not gonna stop me."

"You think you can keep up with me?! Prepare yourself to see..." The demon said before it moved so fast, that Luz barely noticed that he was now right behind her. "Or not see."

Luz could barely guard herself as sharp claws were coming her way, and she could feel them cutting away at the skin of her arms. Not only that, but the demon was so strong, that she was even pushed back, leaving her unready for the demons next attack. She was launched inside the 'under construction' library, as the demon walked towards, then appeared cling to a bookshelf, then crawling on the ground, then in front of Luz, who it smacks and sends her back, almost tripping over her feet. He was fast, so fast that he was already Luz with cuts all around her. But that more she took a beating, the more she saw a pattern to his movements. This time, she was ready, as she blocked another 'gale force strike', pushing back as the demon once again appeared behind. But this time, she moved just fast enough to counter her next attack, striking the monster with her whip and making it stagger. And that's when it revealed more tricks up its sleeve, with that snake of a tail it has, opening its mouth and letting out a beam of energy that Luz had to run away from.

When that attack failed, the creature grew restless as the snake head then sent itself onto the floorboard, pouring out its energy, to which Luz saw where that was going. She quickly jumped up a bookshelf as all of the floor became electrified and the demon then appearing, hanging from the wall as it was looking directly at Luz, and it began to growl in anger, bringing up energy for its next attack. Luz couldn't even keep up the second she saw a spark its 'eye' and then, so suddenly, was it a flashing blur that seemed to smashing against everything within the room they were in, but her. Three seconds after, Luz saw the creature appear above her, looking ready to smash the bookshelf she was in, and by keen instinct, she jumped off it as the demon did just that. Luz took this as her chance to attack, striking hard and fast as the demon quickly jumped its attacks.

"I'm so fast...I'll never be where you're weapon strikes!" It snarled at her, but she was not afflicted.

"You seem afraid."

"I'm finishing this, right here, right NOW!"

Once again, was it charging up energy for the its fast attack, and Luz wanted to feel ready for this. But soon after the spark, it became a blur again and Luz could still not keep track of fast it was. It almost like it was faster this time. So fast, that there appeared to before more that demon. How was that even possible. Luz didn't even have time to analyze it as she quickly got out of the way, for in those two seconds, there were three more of the monster, and they all collided into themselves with their final attack, destroying themselves. The only thing saw was the splatter of blood and flesh going off in every direction as the battle was done, and she apparently won. But then, coming from the remains of the demon was that same crystal shard that had impaled the publisher. It was heading straight for Luz and it would've ran her through, had she not reacted quickly and destroyed it with her whip, sending bits and pieces of it everywhere to dissipate.

And now that THAT was settled, she turned her attention back to the King, who was frozen in fear of what he just saw. But he now had only one thing to worry about, and it was standing over him.

"We're going home...right now."

Back to the Clawthrone Sisters, Eda had finished rescuing her sister again, this time from crab creature native to the Isles.

"Thank you, Edalyn." Lilith sighed.

"All these years, and I'm still looking after your ass." Eda said smugly.

Lilith huffed as she replied "I miss how we used to be."

"...So do I. But we can't just bring it back with this wild goose chase."

"If it's such a wild goose chase, then how do you explain that?" The older sister then points to a glowing pink flower in the center of what looks like a fountain of vines. While Lilith was astonished, Eda could see right through this deceptions as she readied her brotherhood's weapon.

"By doing this."

And without a hint of hesitation, did she struck the floor, and the illusion vanished. Then, they two sisters began to hear snarling coming from behind the statue, as crawling on top of it was the merchant that sold Lilith the map to the bloom. He was not looking happy, snarling and drooling as he towered over the sister while on top of that statue.

"You broke my illusion!" He screamed angrily. "But at least you've be lead here my nest, so that I may suck the life out of you to satisfy my never-ending hunger!"

Lilith replied "Huh. I guess you were right about me being scammed."

"I'm just can't believe he was stupid enough to expose himself like that. Saves me the trouble to do this."

With little effort, did Eda send the chained blade of her combat cross to the merchant, who is impaled by the weapon as Eda then swings it over her and down the ground, where the merchant practically burst into a million bloody piece. Lilith was caught off guard by her sister's brutality, as she sees her put the cross away and leave ever so casually.

"I think we're done here." Eda said

But then Lilith asks "Where did you get that weapon? I thought only a Belmont could use it." Eda was silent for a moment before she answered.

"...Like I said before, Lilith...From people I truly consider family."

That still hurts Lilith deeply.

"In my youth, did I join something greater than a coven."

"What could be greater than a coven?" Lilith asked.

"...A brotherhood."

And with nothing else said, Eda summons her staff and takes off, leaving Lilith to wonder what she meant.

Back at the Owl House, Luz was facing away from King, who she forced to sit in the corner until she could think of a greater punishment for him. It was all but cold silent until Eda came bursting through the door. She drops her staff, cracks her back and plops down on the coach.

"Ah. It's been a rough couple of days, huh guys?" She asked casually.

"You have no idea." Luz said coldly. Eda merely shrugged at her tone.

"Nothing like bit of apple blood and a good book can't mend"

Luz then replied "I think I've had enough of books for one day."

"Yeah, me too." King said.

"I SAID NO TALKING!"

That outburst caught Eda by surprise as she could see the anger in Luz's eye and King being scarred stiff. This made her sigh.

"What did you too get into?"

Luz answered "Oh, King used my journal and travel book to write a story of his, which set me off the wrong way. Then soon after, I ended having to fight a huge demon, one like never before."

"I had nothing to do with that part!" King yelled in defense of himself.

"Wait, wait, wait. You faced another night creature?" Eda questioned.

"No, actually." Luz said. "This creature was different. I discovered that it's name was Bathin. Apparently, he's a Duke from Hell."

This made Eda stand up, looking concerned. "What?! A ancient demon? Here?!"

"It was summoned." Luz said before narrowing her eyes out towards a window. "And I have a pretty good idea by who..."

Anybody who guesses which video game I referenced in this chapter will get 5 million dollars and a demonic curse. And feel free to share ideas about what should happen next.
