Ever since the incident with King trying to sell off Luz's family history as his own book series, and the Sudden Duke of Hell showing up, trying to destroy her, Luz has not been in the best of moods. In fact, she's had her nose in the ancient travel book for sometime now, looking at techniques that were possibly once used before, by her ancestor, the Shining Knight of the Brotherhood of Light. She has not been talking to King for at least three days know, making the guilty demon wonder if he completely screwed his relationship with her.

"Uh...Luz?" He said nervously, but she never looked her way. "W-W-Watcha' reading about?"

"You should know by now, you tried to sell it as your own merchandise."

As nice it was hearing Luz respond to her, he wished that she would stop making her feel bad. But then again, he knows he deserves it as he decides to try something else and rests on Luz's stomach. That did get her attention, as she looked down and saw the said demon, and gave out a sigh.

"I'm looking at ancient fighting techniques." Luz said, getting King's attention. "These were used by warriors of the Brother both Eda and my family was part of."

King replied "Really? Wow! I didn't even see this kind of stuff in the book when I was-"

He then stopped himself and looked back to see Luz glaring at him again.

"I'll shut up now."

And then, Eda came in, kicking the front door open, yelling out "Hey freeloaders! Guess what today is?"

"Human Treasure day?" Luz answered, blandly.

"Nope! It's Human Treas-Oh, wait. You're actually."

"How'd you guess that, Luz?" King asked.

"'Cuz she literally does this every Saturday." Luz replied, looking at the audience for a second and winked. Then, Eda tosses the Portal Door into the air. It unfolds and opens. Owlbert flies through, dragging a giant sack. The sack tears when he flips it onto the floor, revealing a pile of human garbage.

"Ah, Fresh Garbage." She said, jumping into the pile. King also heads towards the pile and starts rummaging through it, before pulling out a teddy bear.

"Aha! Another worthy addition to my army of terror!"

"I love cuddles and kisses!" Came from the Teddy Bear, which King found "Truly Horrifying!"

And it was then that Eda looked over to Luz, who closed her book and got up from the coach, soon heading for the door.

"Hey, kid. Your trash pile's getting cold. While mine's getting hot!" She then pulls our wired clothes hangers. "I have never seen such an extravagant earring."

Luz replied "Those are coat hangers, Eda, I can't stay. I gotta meet up with Amity so we continue our research on my family's history and involvement with this realm."

"...I understand." Eda replied in a rather mature tone. "Stay safe, Luz."

"You guys as well. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."

"Hoot. You're up for disappointment when you get back." Hooty said as Luz exited the house.

"Thanks for that, Hooty."

"Anytime. Hoot, hoot."

And with that, Luz was on her way, leaving the two morons by themselves.

"Eh, who needs her?" King said, proudly.

"You seemed like you needed her when I showed up." Eda replied, while she was now wearing two clothing hangars as earrings and looking in a mirror. "She still giving you the cold shoulder?"

King sighed as he said. "I know I screwed up with her, big time. I just hope to find a way to make it up to her."

"You better, unless you wanna end up in her family's bestiary with the rest of the unfortunately night creatures."

And with that, Eda left the room, leaving King along to sigh.

"Being without you is Unbearable." Said the teddy bear, which King throws, saying "No, you're unbearable!"

Walking through the market, Luz looks around in search of Amity. But before she could, she was bombarded by too familiar twins, Amity's older siblings, Edric and Emira.

"Hey, Belmont!" They both said, appearing out of nowhere and surprising the young Belmont. But five seconds later, they wished they hadn't as Luz's quick reflexes caused her to kick both of them in the face and make them fall to the ground in pain.

"Don't do that!" Luz yelled out. "I'm not in the best of moods today."

And then, she heard some laughter coming from another familiar voice. Amity arrived, dressed in casual clothing today. She clapped her hands as she enjoyed the sights of her siblings on the floor, groaning painfully.

"And here I was, just about to tell them to stop bothering you." She said, happily. "Forgive them for their antics, Luz. They was so anxious to come with me for some reason."

"Because we love you, baby sister. Ouch." Emira said, picking herself back up, same as Edric.

"They've been extra protective and nice towards me to make up for the library incident."

"And we still apologize everyday. Heh, heh. Ow." Edric said, feeling his lower jaw.

Luz, cracking her neck, replies "Well, make sure they stay at a long distance away from me." The twins were honestly afraid of Luz after learning that she's a Belmont who takes her family legacy seriously. But Amity could understand why she was so mad now.

"You're still mad the book thing your little demon friend did, aren't you?"

"Yeah. But even after getting him to tell the truth, and recalling all those damn books, I'm still not happy." Luz growled before taking a deep breath and deciding to change the subject. "So...how's you Develforging class going?"

"It's fine, mostly..." Amity replied before pulling something from her bag. "My teacher is still rather strange, feels like he's hiding something from all of us. The other students seem to be...entranced by him, but I'm not so easily swayed. But he says I have a natural talent for this type of magic, and he rewarded my efforts with this."

It turned out to be a unique black dagger with an opening in the middle, engraved steel and a center red jewel, not to mention the handle wrapped in red cloth. As Amity allowed Luz to hold it, the Belmont examine the dagger carefully, recognizing it anywhere.

"The ceremonial dagger, wielded by one of the most infamous of forgemasters." She said to herself before giving it back to Amity. "This is a unique Amity. And you have a natural talent for it, I recommend putting it to good use."

"Agreed." Amity said, putting the dagger away. "Also, my friend, Boscha, has not been herself as of late. She seems more entranced into the class than anyone. Not only that, but she's become more cruel, more ruthless. Not to mention, the tattoo that keeps appearing and disappearing on the right side of her face.

"So, the triclops really is turning into Isaac. I better investigate this class when I have the chance." Another thing that Luz said to herself. "Well, enough of that for now. Have you found anything else about my family's history and involvement here?"

Amity replied. "I think it'd be best if we talk about that in private. I'll be practicing at the Knee of the Boiling Isles later today. Meet me there and we'll discuss our research."

"Understood."

"Ooh! Brain idea!" Edric says as he kneels in front of Amity and Emira leans on top of her, trapping Amity in between as Emira continued "What if we all trained together? We could show off what we know!"

"Amity did tell us you could do magic all on your own, and without the use of spell circles, no doubt!"

Luz shoots Amity a "Really?" face.

"They've been reading my diary." She said in a dead tone.

"And she's been using a sword." Emira said, starting to get nervous. "Which is why got new scars on our back."

"...Well then. I suppose I'll see you then." Luz said before walking away from the group.

Back at the Owl House, Eda was preparing to cook some vegetables with magic when Luz came in.

"Hey, Eda. I need to talk to you about something."

"Hold on, Luz. These vegetables won't cook themselves... yet."

Dumping a potion onto them, the veggies sprout arms and legs and become sentient.

"Alright, into the pot." But then, the run away. "Why do I always think that's gonna work? Well, anyway, what did you wanna talk about, Luz?"

"I need to tell how to get to the Knee." Luz said, getting Eda curious.

"Dare I ask why?" Eda said.

Luz replied "Because me and Amity agreed to go over research privately, and maybe even do some training with our magic."

"Well, if you're talking about the research of your family's history, than count me in. I did promise you I'd tell you what I know."

"I would appreciate that." Said Luz. "Alright, Eda, you can join. I'm sure Amity wouldn't mind."

And then, King barged through the backdoor, saying "Did someone call for a road trip? Count me in! You can carry me while head over to where it is we're going."

"You're not coming with, King." Eda said. "This is strictly for me, Luz and her friend. And frankly, you are not in good speaking terms with Luz right now."

Luz pulled out her whip and extended it to prove Eda's point while King is looking like he just wet himself.

"Heh, heh. I'll...be out here, then. Training my army and all that. Heh, heh...have fun." And then, he quickly back outside again, shutting the door behind him, which opens again, forcing him to close it again, and again, and again, leaving Luz a little bit a amused.

"So...when do we leave?"

"Right now." Eda replied as they suddenly found themselves on the knee, which was a huge snowy mountain of the Boiling Isles. And it was really snowy, snowier than usually as it was almost like a blizzard burrowing in, and that caught Eda's attention.

"Hmm, the snow is acting fierce and very out of season this time of year."

"What makes this place so special anyway?" Luz asked.

"The earliest witches came to the Knee to develop their magic, drawn to its natural power." Eda answered. "Let's meet up with your friends and avoid any dangers along the way."

"Night creatures?"

"Vermin." Eda gestures to the side and Luz looks over to see a giant yeti-like monster, as its body is covered by white fur. Its claws, which have no fur, are purple. The very sight of it kept Luz on the offensive.

"Relax." Eda said to Luz. "Slitherbeasts won't mess with you as long as you don't mess with it."

Luz took that into consideration, taking one last glance at the creature before walking with Eda. Little did they know that it was already aware of its presence, and had it's presence. As they continued to walk, the snow nearly made it impossible to see as they were moving blind.

"You sure this is where that Blight wanted to meet up with you?" Eda asked.

"Yes. But she never said anything about a Blizzard rolling in." Luz answered. Then, a pink light illuminated her, and it was coming close. The moment Luz realized what it was, she brought out her whip and blocked an upcoming fireball. Then, the storm cleared and Luz saw that she was facing Amity and her siblings.

"Oops, sorry Luz." Amity said as she was holding a wand.

"I was wondering where you were."

"The blizzard came out of nowhere. But we don't think it's natural." Amity replied as her siblings came up.

"Mittens here can't seem to get that nature doesn't want her to beat our exam scores." Edric said and Emira added " She still needs to use a training wand to learn new spells. Ironic, isn't it?"

"Yeah, funny." Luz said before turning to Eda. "Uh, how about the two of you learn a spell or two by the infamous Owl Lady here?"

"What?" The three of them said together.

"Yeah! Teach them all about the special magic that has to deal with...snow!"

"Uh...right!" Eda said, getting along with what Luz was thinking. Although, she wasn't really up for it. "Allow me to show you how you can identify different types of snow...by taste! So come on, let's go eat some snow!" She then grabs them both by their hair and drags them away from Luz and Amity.

"Ow! Okay, okay, we're coming! Ow!"

"Take it easy! Ow, ow, ow!"

"Well, now that those two are taken care of..." Luz said before brining out her whip. "...Shall we get down to business?"

"Thought you'd never asked." Amity replied before pulling out the sword she had gotten during the library scrummage. The sword too was also a weapon of Devilforgers, one whom gone against the forces of darkness centuries ago. But Luz didn't pay much attention to it, as she hoped not to trigger to many memories all at once.

"You even know how to use that sword, Amity?"

"I've been practicing. Master Desu says combat works well with Devilforging."

"Desu, huh? So that's who's in charge of the class." Luz thought to herself. "Definitely gonna be trouble in the future." And then, she spoke out loud. "Well then, show my what you know."

As they both take a stance, Luz was the first to strike as her whip connected with Amity's sword and they clashed. Luz could see that Amity had been practicing, and it was paying off very nicely as she was almost matching her step-for-step...almost. The whip wrapped around the blade of the sword and Luz pulled her in close. Too close for Amity, as she was inches away from Luz's face, which made her blush.

"So...what have you found in your research?" Luz asked.

Amity snapped out of it as she said "Oh! Well...I couldn't really find much more about your family's history, let alone what they were doing here. But I did find something else that was interesting."

Then, Amity pried the whip off her sword and had Luz back off with a slash that would've cut through Luz's chest if both girls didn't back away.

"What exactly did you find?"

Amity couldn't believe this. They had decided to train while Luz also wanted to talk research. She had thought it was one done before the other, by its not like she could back down now. She advanced and then found herself blocking the whip from all sides before Luz once again backed off for a second.

"Only that during the time of your family's absence in the human world, was the demon realm running rampant with dark magic and entities that would recognize as the Night Creatures."

"Does that include the Isles?" Luz said as she snapped the whip at Amity yet again.

Amity replies as she was forced to stay on the defensive "Yes it does! In fact, it was the very magic of Night Creatures that breathed life into the Titan in the first place!"

And then, Amity advanced, getting the whip out of the way as slashes at Luz, who dodges and get out of the way, swinging the whip and almost hitting Amity in the face. That almost scared them both, as if she did hit her, part of Amity's face would've been blasted off. Pausing for a second, Amity continued to spar by throwing another pink fireball at Luz, which she destroys with her whip.

"And then, Belos came." She continued to say. "And the dark magic dissipated and so did the entities, making room for people like me, real witches with magic in their bloods."

Luz replied "Uh-huh. And with that came dictatorship, covens and everybody living Belos' thumb."

"It's always been that way for us, Luz." Amity sighed. "We've lived peacefully on this damn skeleton, in prosperity and structure."

"And then, Wild Witches appeared and screwed up everything, didn't they? It's not fair, Amity. People like Eda just want to have normal lives and you know it. And I...just want to learn more about my family."

"Don't take it out on my, Luz." Amity said as she swung her sword and forced Luz to dodge again before Luz did something unexpected, starting to do a roundhouse kick that would knocked Amity off her feet...if Luz hadn't paused, with her foot inches away from Amity's face.

"I won't take it out on you. But I will take it out on the coven if it becomes necessary."

Amity said nothing as she knew that Luz was dead serious about that. She couldn't blame her either, as Luz has now been made a bigger bounty than the Owl Lady. Speaking of whom, the two could hear Eda and Twins screaming at a distance, along with flashing light through the snow, certain to be magic as Luz and Amity ran over to see what was going on. They soon stop at the entrance of a cave that had pillars of ice spikes surrounding it.

"That's a Slitherbeast cave, but I've never seen one covered in that much ice." Amity said as the two treaded carefully. Luz looked over and felt an ice pillar for a second, sensing something unworldly about it.

"This isn't normal ice." She stated before turning to Amity. "Stay sharp, I'm sensing demonic power coming from within that cave."

Little did they realize that the true inhabitant of the cave was not too far behind them, snarling at the sight of someone trespassing at it's territory. Upon going inside, the girls took caution at how sharp the ice shards were looking, one touch could them bleed. And it was then that Luz and Amity came to an opening...right before having to dodge a blast of green magic coming at them, and then saw what was going on. Eda was battling a flying figure in violet robes and holding a golden staff, its skin was pale and the beard hanging from its chin was long, white and mop-like, and its eyes were glowing green with dark power.

"A Necromancer!" Luz said, recognizing the enemy, but leaving Amity confused. "A human who gave up its soul for power. It serves a Dark Lord."

Then, the Wizard attacked with ice...which landed on the ground.

"Ha! Ya missed!" Eda gloated, but she wasn't prepared for pillars of ice to rise beneath her feet and launch her up into the air at top speed, causing her to slam into the ceiling, fortunately not into a stalactite. "...Okay. That one hurt."

"Definitely an ice elemental." Luz continued. "He must be the one causing the blizzard."

Amity replied "Okay, but what was he doing in this cave?"

"See the floor?" And it was then that Luz pointed to the ice covered ground, where carved into it was a Pentagram, albeit cracked. "Eda and your siblings must've interrupted the summoning of a demon."

"Where are Edric and Emira anyway?" Amity asked.

"Over here."

And then, the two noticed the twins, trapped to the walls in ice, looking to partly frozen and weakened. Then, Eda fell from the ceiling of the ground, and as she recovered, noticed the girls at the cave entrance.

"Luz! Get out of here!" She yelled at them. Unfortunately, this got the attention of the Ice Wizard, who then warped from where he floated and then behind the girls. It whispered chants as the girls backed into the cavern as the Wizard pointed his staff and attacked with green magic. Pushing Amity away, Luz dodged the blasts as then attacked the Necromancer with her whip, who warps again after contact is made with the whip.

"I wonder if my ancestors were annoyed by these creeps." Luz panted as she constantly attacked in the direction that the necromancer has warped to. Amity watched as Luz never missed, but then heard some growling coming their way, and had a pretty good idea of who or what it was.

"Luz, we need to get out of here!" She yelled out as Luz continued to attack the evermoving Ice Wizard. But then, she stopped for a second when she heard the same growl.

"Don't tell...beast?"

"Yep." Amity said, reluctantly as the owner of the cave came crashing though some ice blocking it's path. Luz and Amity got away from any incoming ice shards and took hold of Eda, but not before the Necromancer appeared before them and pointed his glowing green staff at them. Fortunately, the Necromancer was the first thing the Slitherbeast spotted as it charged and tackled it, soon beginning to rip it to pieces. And with that, the trio to run out of the cave.

"Hey! You forgot us!" Emira yelled out, and then Luz throw a Holy Water Vial at them, melting the ice that was holding them as the two ran to catch up with them.

"Surprised who didn't finish Ol' Warpy McGee back there." Eda said.

"Eh. Let the Slitherbeast have him." Luz replied as they all made it out of the cave. Seeing the giant pillars of ice hanging, Luz pulled another trick, throwing an energy cross at the pillars, knocking them down and having them block the cave entrance.

"That's enough of that."

"Well done, Luz." Eda said. "Your training is clearly paying off."

"Yeah, Belmont! That was amazing!" Edric yelled, and Emira said "You handled that situation like a master! Mittens, why can't you be like her?"

Amity said nothing, but glared at them both. And thankfully, Luz was there to speak for her as she said "Hey! If it wasn't for her, you two would've been dinner by now."

"Oh, please, Luz. You don't have to cover for our baby sister." Emira said.

Then Edric added "Yeah! You were the one who were fighting that freak all on your own! And I bet you even beat Mittens while you were training. Am I right?"

Both Luz and Amity were starting to show silent and both twins, when Luz then said "Hey, Amity. Do you want to see another trick I learned from my ancestors?"

"I don't see why not." Amity answered as then, Luz concentrated on her magic, raising one of her hands into the sky as she chanted "Ice Needle!" And then, appearing in mid air was a cross made entirely of ice. Everybody was amazed, until the ice cross started spinning rapidly and began shooting ice at the twins.

"OW!" Edric and Emira yelled before Edric said "Okay, okay! We give! OW! Uncle! Uncle!" And then, two two ran away, much to Luz, Eda and Amity's amusement.

"I better catch up to them." Amity said before turning to Luz. "I'll see you around, Luz. And I'll be sure to find more information for you."

"If you don't mind me asking, Amity." Luz started saying "I want to learn more about this class your taking. I feel a little suspicious about it."

"I'll...be sure to let you in on what goes on in the class." Amity said, hesitantly before walking away.

Then Eda changed the subject, saying "Hey, Luz. Where did you learn that ice thing?"

"...From someone in my family who's power is partly derived from blood ties to another."

Apparently, Eda's knowledge of the Belmont Clan had a few gaps in it, as she had no idea who she was referring too...

Back at the Owl House, King was messing with his 'army', but still wondering how to make up to his Betrayal of Luz. Hooty had taken notice of his depression as hadn't stopped bothering about it all day.

"King, you know Luz still loves you." Hooty said, much to King's dismay.

"What is your point, Hooty?"

"You may have tried to use Luz's books to write your own stories, propagate from them, tried to sell them as your own stuff and almost ruin your relationship with her completely, hoot hoot. But, uh...what was the point I was trying to make?"

King only sighed and decided to get Hooty off his back by saying "You know what, Hooty? You're right."

"I am?" Hoot asked in glee. "Hoot! Score on for Hooty!" And then, Hooty retreated back into the door to feel good about his 'accomplishment', leaving King alone with some time to think.

"I do need to make it up to Luz." He said, before coming up with something. "And I think I know just how to do it."
