After their little adventure in the elements, Luz had recorded her experience of both the Ice Wizard she fought and the Slitherbeast that was no doubt still munching on the Wizard's remains. But now, something of upmost importance has called her back to Hexside, as she stands within the Auditorium with Bump and Eda, speaking about the matter in question privately.

"So what is it that you wished to talk about, Principal Bump?"

Bump replied "This may be shallow of me to ask of you, Ms. Belmont, but I need your help with a certain...pestilence."

"Oh, I see." Luz said casually. "You want me to play exterminator duty, right?"

"Well, I would word it differently, but-"

"It's cool. I get it." Interrupted, Luz. "Who knows? Might actually be kinda fun. But I do have a condition I want you to meet."

"Name your price." Bump said.

"I want to know more about a certain class that has been uprising in this school recently. The Devil Forging Class, my...acquaintance, Amity Blight, is partaking in."

Bump nodded in agreement. "The newest addition to our educational process. As you young ones would put it, it's a whole different game from Beast Keeping or Abominations. Master Desu is a particular being of sorts, but he's seemingly gained the interest of the Emperor, who wants to see a new coven made from this class."

"I only need to know what goes on in there." Luz replied. "And if this Desu is who I think he is."

"What do you mean by that, Luz?" Eda asked.

"Don't think I don't know other languages. I just need to be sure." And with that, Luz took off, leaving the two adults in the auditorium. And it was then that Eda spoke her mind.

"It's been a while, Bump. Since last, we worked together."

"What are you referring to, Owl Lady?" Bump asked.

"Don't think I don't remember you from the order, Bump." Eda replied. "You were sent there by the Emperor's Coven to keep an eye, and eventually retrieve me. But you decided to stay, after you realized how truthful the Brotherhood of Light was."

The Principal relied "...Victor's Student. I had not expected our reunion to be like this."

"Then I'm guessing your memory's getting poor. You also know as well as I do that the Devil Forgemasters are a huge problem, as they were 600 years ago. The fact that you allowed your students to learn that evil magic makes things much more problematic for us and Luz."

"Do you not have faith in the Belmont to succeed?" asked Bump.

Eda replied "I'd be lying if I said wasn't more than concerned for her safety."

"I know she'll be fine. Her lineage is one of legends after all..."

Meanwhile, Luz began walking through the halls with many new students attempting to avoid her. Ever since it was revealed that she was a Belmont, the Emperor's Coven had done everything in their power to see Luz demoralized. Not that she cared, her family was used to being on the corrupted side of law, thanks to the Church that kicked them out of their home. She was only fortunate enough to have gained friends along the way. Speaking of whom, Amity came along with a Abomination following her. The moment she saw her, she went to go greet her.

"Hey, Luz. What are you doing here?"

"Bump hired me to do a little pest control." Luz answered. "In return, I get to check out this class of yours."

"Oh, right." Amity replied. "I'm not sure Master Desu would allow you in, though. Not only is he creepy, he's really strict."

"If he is who I think he is, I know for sure he'll be more than willing to allow a Belmont to partake in his class."

"Alright. Whatever you said. I'll see yo around." Amity says as the two, high five. However, Amity's abomination slaps Luz's face, leaving abomination mud behind. Luz's visible eye show that she's not amused. Amity quickly got nervous as she said "...Sorry." before walking off. Then Luz wiped off the goop and even spat some out as she walked forward. But it was then, she felt another presence very close by. Taking off her backpack, she pulled out a familiar face.

"King?" She said to the little demon. "What are you doing in my backpack? And don't tell me you were looking for my book again!"

"How long are you gonna hold that against me?!" King asked, to which Luz replied "Until your kids have kids."

"Well, if you must know, you're a free ride to the best buffet in town! Nyah!" He hops into a trashcan and pulls out a half-eaten donut. "The trash cans here are filled with half-eaten gold!"

"Whatever you said, King." Luz said before walking off. Once she was gone, King jumped out of the trashcan and looked around, seeing that no one else is around. "Okay. Now, to help find some monsters or artifacts to help Luz with her research." He soon made his way to Hexside in secret. Meanwhile, Luz met up with Willow and Gus.

"What's up, guys?" She greeted them both.

"Luz! Surprised to see you here." Willow said, to which Gus added "Last we check, you rejected Bump's offer to the school, twice." Then Willow shoots him a glare, as he says "Too soon?"

"I'm here one pest control duty, guys." Luz explained. "Bump hired me to take care of few things."

"Right now?" Willow asked. "But it's the beginning of a new semester!"

"Yeah, what could possibly go wrong with a bunch of fresh new witches-in-training, just learning magic, at the peak of the abilities?" Gus asked, to which Luz and Willow look at him confused.

"Hmm, that's what I'm gonna figure out right now." Luz said, walking ahead of them. "See you on the other side, friends."

"See you later, Luz." Gus says while using a spell to amplify his farewell, but the words "GOODBYE FOREVER" are spelled out, and Willow shoots him another confused look. "I may have been covering all my bases."

Later, Luz is in the Principal's Office, where she and Bump were discussing the main point of the situation.

"So, what exactly am I dealing with here, Principal Bump?" She asked. "Night Creatures? Or some other thing that this realm has yet to introduce me to?"

"It might just be a little bit of both, Ms. Belmont." Bump explained. "There is supposed to be an Inspector from the Emperor's Coven coming in Today after a few recent events regarding you." He points to her before backing off. "But, I have feeling that this may lead to more complications than before."

"Did you check a Crystal Ball to see if something bad was going to happen?" Luz asked, jokingly. Bump only smirked before pulling out that specific item in front of Luz, who was a little bewildered. "Nevermind then."

"Regarding the Inspector, it is imperative that all goes well." Bump continued on. "But I fear that if he sees you, not only will he attempt to have you incarcerated, but also accuse me of being an accomplice to your 'crimes'." He says with quotation fingers.

Luz replied "So, I have to do my job without being seen. Shouldn't be too much of a problem."

"It won't be." Then Bump revealed to Luz one of the biggest secrets the school had to offer, as a secret passage opened within the office, catching Luz off guard. "Eda Clawthorne had created this room as to work as a series of shortcuts all throughout the school. And thought no one will ever find out."

"This is becoming more and more like one of my ancestors adventures." Luz mentally said to herself. "So, I can go through here and checkout and class in the school?"

"Exactly? Since you've been such a great ally, I've leave it at your disposal."

"Thank you, Principal Bump. I'll see if I can find any sort of disturbance." Luz said as she walked into the room. Then said to herself "And hopefully, check out the Devil Forging Class." And with that, she fully got into the room and decided to check which door leads to where. There was so many, it was hard to be Eda could've gotten anywhere in here. Opening a door, Luz finds herself in a hallway with Amity, pacing the hallway.

"She's strong, and deserves every right to know. But Desu said she can't be trusted, given her lineage. And the Emperor's already made her the most wanted criminal in the Isles. What am I supposed to do here?"

Luz quickly closed the door, hoping Amity didn't notice her. "It seems Amity not fully trusting of me right now. I need to make sure Desu and the Emperor's Coven don't turn her against me."

"Hey! How'd you get in here?!"

Luz's attention was turned to see three Hexside students wearing grey colors, a girl with brown hair with four wefted bangs and a messy bun held together by a dark orange hair tie, a green eyes with one lash on the top and one lash on the bottom, and a fishhook earring on one ear. A skinny boy with brown short hair wefted over the right side of his forehead, thick black eyebrows, a pointed nose and brown eyes. The last guy had the body of a dog with a human-like face, was covered with chestnut fur, with light tan fur on his stomach and neck area, dark orange tufts of hair on his head and two ears pointing upward, with a small gold hoop earring on his right ear, blue eyes, black eyebrows, wore square glasses with white tape in the center. The second Luz turned towards them, the almost instantly recognized her as...

"The Belmont!" the girl gasped, forcing her and her friends to back away while Luz rolled her eyes.

"I've been getting that a lot recently." She said. "At ease, you three. I mean you no harm."

"Oh? Then...what are you doing here?" The skinny boy asked, to which Luz sighed, tired of explain it to everybody.

"Principal Bump hired me to take care of some kind of pests. I'm guessing he doesn't mean you three."

"Doubt it." The girl said. "He doesn't know that we used this room."

"Right...so who are you guys?" Luz asked. Hesitantly, the girl answers, "I'm Viney. These are my friends, Jerbo and Barcus...We're the troublemakers of Hexside."

"Is that why you're not in class right now?"

"Well, you can't really learn anything in the Detention Track." Viney says "We're not in class because we're not allowed to practice the two tracks we all want to learn."

"I tried mixing plant magic with abominations." Jerbo said. "Bump was not thrilled."

Barcus only barks, but Jerbo translates for him. "Barcus makes potions with oracle magic."

"And I try mixing healing and beast keeping." Viney says, remembering when she heals a Bard's arm, then draws another spell circle. A young griffin bursts through the chalkboard." Turned out to be slightly unconventional by Bump's standards, but Puddles was a great assistant, dang it!. We all want to be in more than one coven track! But Bump just says we need to focus."

"Hmm, I might need to talk to him about that." Luz says, thinking about it. Then, she walks around the room while the three troublemakers keep their distance from her. "Well, in any case, I'm not here to bother you guys. I got another job to do around here."

Barcus once again barks, and Jerbo translates "Barcus says your aura is filled with honesty and...determination. We believe you."

"What exactly are you doing in here, Belmont?" Viney asked.

"The name's Luz, and I'm trying to find a door that could lead me to that Devil Forging Class. Have you guys seen it?"

"Devil forging?" replied Viney "I heard that class is everybody talks about! But why do you need to head there?"

"I have a bad feeling about that class." Luz simply said.

"Well, we can lead you to the class, if you'd like." Viney said. "Just don't hurt us. We know what you're capable of. And please, don't tell Bump that we use this place."

"Deal." And after that agreement, the trio showed Luz the right door leading to the Devil Forging class. Luz did not enter, for there was still someone inside. And upon seeing the grizzled man in dark robes, Luz recognized him instantly.

"...Zobek." She growled. The others were confused, but dared not say anything. Peeking inside, they could see the old man seeming to have a conversation with someone. Little did they know that there was another person listening in. That person, being King, could also see the other one that Zobek was talking to. An armored warrior like never before, his very presences make the area course with black energy.

"Principal Bump thought it wise to allow the Belmont into the school, but I've yet to see her here." The Old Lord said. "There is no doubt in my mind that she will try to find information, regarding my class. I leave it upon you to see her eliminated."

"It will be done, milord." The armored knight says with a bow. "But I must inform you of the Emperor's intentions."

"He will be dealt with in time, and I am NOT putting my faith in the hands of a Belmont yet again...As for you...It is exhausting of me to have you ressurrected. So do not. fail me. again."

And with that, the armored warrior took his leave while Luz and the trio, and King moved away from the area. King was hoping to warn Luz, but she already knew as she was pacing around in the secret room.

"I knew it." She said angrily. "It had to have been him. No one else can exploit the capabilities of Devil Forging."

"What are you talking about?" Viney asked, she and her friends confused about the whole thing.

Luz pointed a finger at her, saying "It's nothing you should worry about. This problem is mine alone. Least I can do know is warn Bump about Zobek. Until then-"

And then, screaming can be heard. Opening a door that leads to a hallway, the four could see some commotion that was going on. Some creature had infiltrated the school and was leaving behind students and staff, drained of magic and life. Willow and Gus were prime examples, as Luz was horrified to see them on the floor, nearly unconscious.

"What could've done this?!"

"I'm guessing THAT!" Viney yelled, pointing to a creature that was sucking the life out of teacher Oracle. A beast with pale yellow skin, frog like eyes, and a serpentine like body. It had webbed ears, claws, sharp scales, and a mouth that was abnormally wide with sharp teeth to swallow its enemies. What stood out to Luz was the fact that it had hair that was tied in a bun, and the tattered remains of a dress around its upper body. She did recognize this kind of creature, thanks to the knowledge of her...twin.

"It appears to be a basilisk." She said, surprising the trouble makers.

"How could you know that?" Jerbo asks.

"I have an adopted sister who is of the same species, but she was not as ugly as this cretin."

"I've heard of these Basilisks." Viney said. "My cousin at St. Epiderm said she saw one, but those things should be extinct."

Luz replied "Whatever the case, it must be dealt with before it drains the entire school of its magic and life. Stay here, I'll take care of this."

"By yourself?" Viney asks, to which Jerbo added "You'll be killed!"

"Have faith, you three."

And with that, she left the secret room, leaving the three bewildered by her courage.

"Hungry! Still hungry!" The Basilisk snarled. At least it felt a sudden pain in the back of its head and pulled out a silver dagger, dripping with her blood.

"Hey!" Luz called out from the end of the hall, getting the beast's attention. "What you've done is unforgivable. I'll make you choke on the magic that you've consumed."

Getting a good look off the whip Luz held in her hand, the Basilisk growled "You reek with foreign magic, morsel. Perhaps it is your power that will leave me satisfied!"

"Come take it...if you can!"

The Basilisk slithers towards the young Belmont and readies its claws with the intent to tear Luz apart. But she quickly dodges with great athletic prowess and flips around the creature. However, this didn't stop the Basilisk from trying to feed on Luz's powers. The results...were nothing.

"What?!" She says, shocked. "I don't understand. Why am I not able to feed upon your-?"

"Because mine aren't Boiling Isle based, if you have to know." Luz said smugly.

"I didn't know, and I don't care! I'll simply feast on your corpse!"

And with, they engaged in battle as Luz struck fast and hard with her whip. But the troublemakers were peaking on what was going and, and saw that the fight wasn't gonna end as fast as it could.

"We have to help her!" Viney said, but the other two weren't so keen on the idea.

"We do?" Jerbo said.

"Barcus already confirmed to us that she had good intentions. She's risking her life for this school, fighting that thing, and I'm betting we're the only ones left who haven't been drained of their magic."

Jerbo then asked "But how are we even supposed to fight a magic sucking monster?"

Viney thought about it before saying "I have a plan that might just work."

"Might?" Jerbo says before Barcus put his paw on his back and barked.

"It's going to work?"

Barcus nodded and that was good enough for Jerbo. Meanwhile, things have not gonna good for Luz as she finds herself running from the Basilisk. The beast herself seemed to be enjoying the game of cat and mouse.

"What happened to all the bravado before, little girl?" She asked, mockingly. "Have you begun to realize how nowhere as strong enough to defeat me?"

"I know what I'm doing." Luz said, dodging its incoming claws and tail. She already starting to feel exhausted by how much avoiding she was doing. But then, she heard a whistle and looked behind to see Viney waving at her, gesturing to lead her down the hall. With that, Luz snaps her whip at the Basilisk, taking one of its eyes as it screeches in pain and anger. And it was then that Viney called upon a griffon to attack the Basilisk.

"Attagirl, Puddles! Jerbo, now!"

"On it!" Jerbo says, summoning an abomination, which opens a door in the floor as Jerbo summons several thorny vines. The vines latch onto a door handle in the ceiling. The Basilisk claws at Puddles and throws her, then falls through the opened door. Luz hops in after it, sending it through the door in the floor of the Secret Room of Shortcuts. Cut to the auditorium, where Principal Bump sits up.

"Must find help." He says weakly. And as he says that, Luz falls through the ceiling after the beast, landing on its stomach with a silver dagger in hand. King was there, hiding backstage as he could see Luz send the dagger down on the Basilisk's chest, which makes her roar in pain before Luz flips off of it and lands on stage.

"And that's how you get it done." Luz said.

Barcus then comes over and pours a potion onto the creature's hand. He squints at it, then his eyes glow. And then, he yips.

"What's going on?" asks the Basilisk. "What did he say?"

"He says your future is looking bleak."

Jerbo's abomination pulls at a rope that Puddles cuts with her beak. The rope drops sandbags onto the Basilisk's stomach, also sinking the knife in its chest even further. As it cried in pain, its body soon burst into flames before slowly incinerating. All of the magic it ate was released and then returned to the proper witch. Everyone gasps as they get their magic back and wake up. Magic flies through the air as it returns to other schools. Back in the auditorium, Viney heals Puddles's scratched claw before the griffon warbles and flies off. Luz then looks over at the troublemakers and smiles at them warmly.

"That was pretty brave, what you all did. I should thank you, since you helped save the school."

They all felt great about how Luz complimented them, but then those feelings were dropped when Principal Bump recovered. They felt like they were gonna get in trouble for this, but then Bump took a look at Luz and said...

"You have my thanks, kids." He said, surprising the three. "Not only had you saved this school, but most likely dozens of other that had fallen victim to the beast."

"You mean...you're not mad at us for 'mixing magic' and other stuff?" Viney asked with Jerbo and Barcus confused.

Bump replied "Under different circumstances, perhaps I would've been a little...irked at those kinds of misdeed. But I'm willing to overlook that, since you've assisted Ms. Belmont with what I've hired of her to sought out."

"Perhaps they should be rewarded for their efforts?" Luz asked with a smile on her face.

"Perhaps...And what would that?"

The three look at each other and they all nodded with the same idea as Viney said "We want to study two tracks at the same time."

At first, Bump wanted to disapprove, but then he saw Luz shooting him an ugly look, making him sigh in defeat.

"Very well." He said, reluctantly. "Which tracks would you like to be in?"

They all gasped in excitement as this was their chance.

"Healing and Beast Keeping!"

"Plants and Abomination!"

Barcus barks, which translates to "Potions and Oracle".

"So be it." Bump said as he changes their uniforms to reflect their new tracks. Seeing Luz smile happily honestly made him feel warm. "Perhaps, this can be used as an example. There's going to be some changes around the school. One that might bring Hexside to a whole new light."

Luz wasn't entirely sure what that meant, but she was certain that Bump had good intentions. "Well, my job here is done. I've already gotten what I needed to see. I'll be seeing you guys around."

"Thanks, Luz!" Viney said, catching Luz in a surprise. "For getting us to study what we want to learn."

"For letting us be in charge of decisions." Jerbo added

Barcus barked, translated to "And for bringing change to the school."

Luz nodded before departing. And once again, seeing the young Belmont then looking down at the cross scratched into his wrist, he whispers...

"For the Order."

Meanwhile, Zobek's lieutenant was continuing to stock Luz, having his sword ready to slay her...when a column fell on top of him. And King appeared, looking happy that he managed to crush the armored warrior without much of a problem.

"Whoo! Oh yeah!" He cheered, then he begins to scavenge what was left of the warrior, which was merely the armor he had. "Now, time to pick this stuff up for Luz. Man, this guy had some great armor." He picks up the helmet, examining it for a second before going back to picking everything up."

"W-W-What happened here?!" Bump shouted, having come from around a corner and see King's handiwork.

"Uh Oh." King had only managed to hold onto the sword the Lieutenant had before Bump chased him out of the school. Later, at the Owl House, Luz was writing about the Basilisk in her journal, when King came in through the door. Eda gave a disapproving look to him though.

"You're late." She said to the little demon, to which he replied "I know, but I had to walk all the way here. Thanks for that. Now, if you don't mind...I have a present for Luz."

Getting the girl's attention, King held up the sword for her to see. Seeing the blade, Luz was instantly wide-eyed.

"It did come with some of the coolest armor I've seen. But Bump shooed me out of the school before I could get it all. I figured this sword would help you with your research and-"

"Stop!" Luz yelled, making King freeze. "Put. The sword. Down."

Hesitantly, King did as he was told as Luz came and picked it off the ground, with a look of recognition upon examining the weapon. A long sword, forged to be a hybrid of an English broadsword and Japanese katana. Forged with metal from the abyss, the sword courses with crimson energy, and is engraved with a demonic structure. Luz recognized this sword anywhere, as one of the many weapons used by the warriors of Light and Darkness, said to be able to go beyond the material realm, and cut through dimensions.

"Masamune." Luz whispers before turning to King. "Where did you get this?"

"I-I-I, um...I got it from a warrior that was sent to kill you. But I managed to get, and all was left was his armor."

"And where is the armor?!"

"P-Probably back at the school."

Then Luz quickly turned to Eda and said "Get a message to Bump and tell him to bring me the pieces of that armor."

"Is something wrong, Luz?" Eda asked, concerned.

"Let's just say...whoever wielded this sword worked for somebody...and his master going to be so disappointed."
