Author's Notes: Read and Review!
I'm glad people are enjoying this. This chapter introduces some more... elemental type of dragons. It also had me writing a little bit about a myth I've heard about and altered to fit with Kayaba's messing with everyone idea.
The next chapter will start bringing the fun! Villains learn about Izuku next chapter. I have a special Flashback for that...

"Familiar Communication"
Summary: They said he couldn't be a Hero. That there was no way for him to gain a Quirk. Just like how they never thought that a madman would create a Death Game using a virtual reality machine?
Lizbeth thought she knew crazy. She had been called crazy when inventing by her parents. Even her desire to be the best virtual reality blacksmith was labeled crazy by other players.
Then she met some of the more...intriguing players of the Death Game.
Argo ((The Rat)), who she learned rarely used weapons and used spy tactics was the first. A dagger wielding information broker who was obsessed with money. Lizbeth then learned her desire of being a Hero and how she wanted to utilize information to be a Rescue Hero.
Next came Asuna ((The Flash)), who was using a dozen rapiers because she would fight until they broke and only went to get a new blade because of Argo. That wouldn't have been a problem, except that she lacked materials. So, Lizbeth got to see with her own eyes just how fast the other player was to find her ready with an excessive amount of material to use not even an hour later.
Silica, ((The Dragon Tamer Idol)), was next to come stumbling into the shop. Another dagger user, but a front line one that had a personal healer and rumors had it that she had become like a raging berserker at times. Lizbeth learned that she liked to sing as she battled.
Their was Klein and his group that stood on the front lines. They partied hard as much as they fought. Every single time they walked through they tossed Col her way they would laugh and joke around as they wandered her store.
Agil, one of the best merchants, had her haggling for better prices so she could have a profitable income. It would come to her surprise that he was a Support Hero and would be willing to take her on after the death game.
Of course she learned that there was a different brand of crazy through Kirito. The misadventure to find the correct medal showed her that. Not many would go through that much trouble for a single blade just for the low chance of gaining an incredible weapon.
Then she met Drakon.
Who made her realize that she was just drastically above average along with the crazy ((Black Swordsman)) who had extremely odd ideas and obsessed over swords.
Drakon had the idea that he could potentially make a Familiar out of a ((Field Boss)). Somehow he had roped her into the insane idea by the concept of possibly unlimited material to work with after he bonded with it. The idea that she was going to be payed to come along was an incentive.
((The White Wyrm)), X'rphan, ((Field Boss)) on floor fifty-five of Aincrad watched in what appeared to be amusement as Drakon brought out dish after dish of food in its lair. Its head nodded up and down as it lifted a whole pot of Ragout Rabbit soup to its open maw. With a single drop the soup fell out.
Lizbeth watched in horror as the monster that gave her nightmares was acting like a tamed animal. She watched as Drakon brought out beef stews and a rather large selection of vegetables before it. She couldn't look away as the monster ate huge portions of a single item.
The only thing she was supposed to do was watch for other people so as to avoid conflict as he fed the monster. Yet, she could only listen as it thumped its tail on the ground like a dog and gave out a deep hum from its throat that reminded her of a cat. It curled into a ball and seemed to just stare at the green haired boy in his green wool cloak.
"Hey! Is everything alright over there?" Yelled Lizbeth. Worry laced her voice as she saw the red of its eye flash red for a brief moment.
The smaller teen yelled back at her. "Don't worry about it! I've done this before! We're already friends!"
Green eyes met her hazel avatars eyes before a flash came from the monster before dying down. The white scales of the monster had streaks of dark green lines crawling up its body. Its red eyes changed into a green that matched Drakons.
The boy laughed. "I must be cursed if Kayaba has his system monitoring me this much! He even changed the name of its species! He turned it from a wyrm to a dragon! He's learning!" He paused in the middle of his small rant. "How about...Khione...Greek goddess of snow..."
He patted the dragons snout and it leaned into his touch. Drakon chuckled. "Would you like to go to my house on this floor?"
The pink haired girls mouth dropped as she listened to the one sided conversation.
"Alright. Would you carry myself and the other girl to the house. Maybe with your help I can build a huge mansion. Then I can stay here easier with everyone. I hope you can meet the rest soon. How does that sound?" Drakons voice dropped as he stroked the dragons snout.
"You're insane." She hissed at the boy. The hood of his green cloak shaded his eyes. The cloak was bigger than it should be as it seemed to absorb the small body.
They were in a swamp. Fog lingered in the air. The sound of ravens or crows could be heard in the trees.
She whispered harshly to the boy. "Nobody comes to this Floor anymore. Why are we here anyway?"
Emeralds legs thumped into the wet ground of the swamp. The boy held up his hand in a sign to stop. He turned to her slowly and whispered. "It's a Limited Time Quest that reminds me about a story I once hear about before. You have those large pieces of ((Frenzy Boar Steaks)) and the ten gallons of ((Trembling Cow Milk)) right?"
Lizbeth nodded her head. "Good. I was able to get huge slabs of ((Trembling Ox Chunks)) for this also. See the well up ahead?" Izuku pointed at an abandoned farmhouse with a lone well that stood near it. The swamp changed into a small field of dead grass.
"We need to place the meat and milk near there and then I'm going to equip that ((Needle Armor)) I had you make me. Kayaba was crazy when he thought of making this Quest at the end. If anything goes wrong...I need you to stab whatever comes out. Got it?" Determined eyes were glueed to hers.
"Got it. Hopefully things work out. Let's do this." Lizbeth muttered as she gripped her mace tightly.
Drakons cloak and regular armor shifted into pixels and were replaced in a flash with the turquise shine of metal like that of the ((Dark Repulsor)) that she crafted for Kirito. Small, thin, dagger like needles were crafted into the joints of the armor and across the chest. The helmet covered everything as it was like that of a classic knights.
He carefully walked to the entrance with Lizbeth by his side. "I'm glad Argo was able to find this Quest before any other poor sucker could come and tell me about it. I shudder at the possible deaths that would have occured before I could come."
They slowly made their way up. "What story is this Quest possibly based on?" Lizbeth asked softly.
Drakon shivered. "The Lambton Wyrm. Legend has it being an eel or a worm before being sent into a well after being called a cursed thing. It's said to possibly have legs and a salamanders face." He paused.
The teen continued with his lesson. "With how Kayaba has done things I have no idea what will come out or if it will like its meal choices. In the stories it could crush animals and humans like an anaconda before swallowing them. At least I think so. Not like I can double check the stories in here."
Lizbeth gulped. "Oh. That's scary. Be safe?"
A wince and a shrug was her response as they finally arrived at the well. "Place the milk and give me the ((Frenzy Boar Steaks)) please? You better help me if I need it. You asked to come along."
"Sure thing." She placed the milk buckets down before handing him the items. Izuku placed all of the meat on the ground before taking the two different meats and dropping them down the well.
Lizbeth dashed to the entrance of the farmhouse and turned to see Drakon as a leaf green, eel like head poked out of the well.
Red claws appeared on the talon like hands. Three claws on the outside and two bent the other way gripped the sides of the well. Drakon could see patches of scales glowing red and black smoke coming out from underneath of the red scales.
Red eyes met green. On its back glowed a spin of fire instead of what a regular eel would have in water. Slowly it went onto the ground.
It went towards the wooden buckets filled with milk. The monsters tongue flickered in the air. Drakon held out a piece of meat as it tipped a bucket and drank. The creature rose to be twice the height of the boy as it finished.
The creature tilted its head before flicking its tongue into the air again before bringing its left claw up to gently take the offered meat from Drakon.
Drakon took of the sharp gauntlet armor before getting another and handing another piece to the monster.
Slowly after about an hour it allowed the boy to pets its head.
The boy chuckled. "The only Lindworm I've been able to turn into a Familiar. A fire breathing and smoking hazard dragon. I wonder how Kacchan would feel if Vulcan decided to play with him?"
Without him seeing, Lizbeth fell to her knees. The creatures body was around three feet in diameter. The length of its body was nearly twenty feet long.
She paled as she heard Drakon laughing. "You can get even bigger?Nice."
All she could think about was that she was totally ordinary compared to the one called Drakon.
Izuku Midoriya's left eye was twitching. His wooden chopsticks snapped. He could hear the growling and hissing protests of his small Familiars at the insults he was being told by the Number Two Hero of Japan who sat across from him at the dinner table.
Keiko, her aunt, Hawks, Mirko, and his mother sat on his side of the table across from the Todoroki family. The Todoroki siblings put down their chopsticks at the rising tension building between their father and the teen.
Ryuko had invited the Hero and his family over to meet Izuku. The friendly invitation was accepted. Now she thought she had made the biggest mistake of her career.
"I'm sorry. Would you care to repeat that?" Izuku gritted his teeth in annoyance.
"I said that you're pathetic artificial Quirk is no reason for you to be any danger to society and there is no need to worry about those dumb beasts that came from your Quirk as they hold no true power. It would be simple enough to put those animals in place. Permanently." The Heroes eyes narrowed at the boy.
"You do realize your threatening me right? In the presence of three other high ranking Heroes?" Izuku slowly stated to make sure his words were clear to everyone in the room.
"Hmph. It's not a threat. It's a fact. Anyone with enough skills could deal with those things." The man shrugged and ate a bite of the meal.
The Hero scoffed and started to speak again. "I do not like to take time out of my schedule to tell anyone something so trivial. Soon enough it will be time to get my protégé into U.A.. You are... an adequate person to challenge him."
Izuku frowned at the mans answer. "What does that have to do with me?"
The teen glanced at the family and could see anger in the older siblings eyes. The youngest seemed to hold no emotion. The man sighed.
Enji Todoroki's eyes, unlike the rest of his body were filled with rage as he stood a tiny bit straighter and nodded towards Inko. "Hisashi Midoriya was a good man." The man paused as he let the words sink in.
"Thank you." Whispered Inko.
The Todoroki turned his head to stare at Hawks. "I met Shinji Ame many years ago. He was an honor to work with."
Hawks gulped and nodded politely.
There was a change in the tension as everyone watched the man. The Todoroki siblings shared confused glances with one another. The other Heroes narrowed their eyes and Keiko squirmed in her seat.
Enji met Izuku's eyes. "Before All Might... Before My Hero Name... Even before I decided to be a Hero..." His voice trailed off and his eyes became unfocused.
"...Father?" Whispered Fuyumi. Concern spread across her face.
An unsettled Natsuo shivered and frowned at the expression his father gave off.
Shoto tilted his head in confusion.
The Hero shook his head. "When I was in middle school I met a boy who stood up for one who was beaten on the ground. I was new to the school. A transfer due to...my temper."
Everyone in the room watched as Enji Todoroki seemed to age before them. Weariness replaced his stiff posture as he slouched in his seat. Izuku listened with a focus he didn't have before.
They listened.
"Back then...my Quirk...Hell Flame...was always being triggered by my anger. It took seconds before I flew into a rage that made my Quirk flare up."
"I had to learn to be colder in attitude to contain the fire within. That day...my temper landed seven other boys and two teachers into hospitals. They taught me something that day..." The man stared at his youngest son before sighing.
"...Something I had forgotten in these many years of being a Hero... Every person needs someone they can rely on. That power...has no use...when it has nothing it can be applied to."
Enji paused before looking at his plate. "That day... I can remember it like yesterday. The boys were older. In their high school years at the very least. One was big with a black leather vest. He had a crow bar in his hands. Another had a baseball bat and was chewing bubblegum."
"There was one red haired girl that was pointing and laughing with snake hair. A boy that turned his body to stone and another that had his hands turn into ice claws. Two identical twin boys held back the arms of Hisashi. The boy with the baseball bat hit him in the gut and he was asked to just run away." Enji chuckled.
"He spat at the other boys face before breathing out a small flame to ignite one of the boys shirts on fire. The boy he protected, Shinj, grabbed the foot of the other boy. I remember rushing in and tackling the boy with the baseball bat. Then I remember us back to back as we fought the older group." A smile tugged at the mans lips.
"I just wish they were still with us." Silence stifled any thought of conversation.
His next sentences were just a whisper. "Remember this kid... To be a Hero requires power that is focused. Know exactly what you want to focus on and apply all your power to it."
Izuku nodded at the man. The rest of the dinner was silent as the conversation ended. Each person at the table was thinking about what he was talking about.
Izuku had enemies. Kiego, Hawks, had told him that. He had brought out so many dragons, let out Yui and Pina to their respective players.
Yet he knew he had barely touched his powers.
He had let out some of his power to make his Familiars and the Bond, but he hadn't focused on himself.
He sat at his chair beside a desk in the guest room in contemplation. He stared at the menu screen where his stats laid. The maximum skill slots he had were gone. It was replaced with a list of every skill he could use in a slot.
Izuku's mouth was dry as he opened up the inventory. A page of fifty blocks opened. Seven slots were empty. Only five out of eighteen eggs had been hatched.
His eyes searched his Inventory. The teens breath hitched as he saw the weapons he had grown accustomed to battling with. Armor that he had started to be recognized in. The long green hooded cloak that he used to hide his face from people in towns and outside of them.
Inside the Death Game of Aincrad he was powerful. Before that he was Quirkless. Weak. Useless. A dreamer of things beyond his reach.
Inside the Death Game he was focused. To save people. To bring hope. To live his life without fear.
It was one thing to brag about it. Another thing to have others exaggerate about himself. It was a complete other thing to actually accept that he had everything he had worked on.
All it would take was for him to actually go out of his way to use a skill. To use the power of the stats that was now an energy he could feel crawling inside of him waiting to be harnessed. His mind wandered to the message the creator of Aincrad left.
He knew he had already made a choice when he back talked the HPSC.
He knew that as soon as he understood Kayaba's message that he would be hunted for his Quirk.
He knew that the death of Shinji Ame had drawn a line between himself and an unknown party.
Izuku Midoriya clenched his fist. His eyes shined a green light that illuminated his room. The eerie glow of the screen shifted.
The teen stared at the dragons that surrounded him.
Amethyst flapped her wings and stood on the edge of the bed. Her eyes gleamed in the dark room. Her tail was softly swishing in the air. Pride filled him. The ((Small Green Scaled Wyvernnet)) was beautiful to see.
Emerald. He curled up into a ball. He had grown slightly taller than the average housecat. The ((Emerald Small Scaled Drake)) had grown tired of playing with the other dragons. His first Familiar always brought joy to himself.
Izuku could feel Shadow spinning in his own shadow. He shuddered as he felt the ((Small Green Scaled Amphithre)) leap from his shadow and glide to the bed beside Amethyst.
The tiny claws that wrapped itself into his curls reminded him of the ((Small Green Scaled Dragonnet)) he had named Suppresor. He remembered the times that the creature would help him escape different monsters and avoid NPC's and regular players. Many times no one could see him from underneath the hood he wore.
Then there was Queenie who now started to wrap around his arm. She was unique...in that she wanted to be a weapon herself and wished to fight and be his armor. A bracelet that formed more of a brace than anything were she could unfurl and twist to sink her poisoned fangs and give her deadly stare to those foolish enough to fight him. ((The Green Armored Basilisk Wyrm)).
"You all were listening to his story earlier. What do you all think?" The soft voice of Izuku spread across the room.
Emerald unfurled from his position and sat on his hindlegs. "You should prepare like you always have. You have the same risks here that we have in that game."
His gruff voice stopped for a second and nodded as if it had thought about something. "You should try and see if there is a way to call us from wherever you are. A summoning of sorts so that we could always fight by your side. Would that not be something the Creator would do?"
Queenie hissed. "We do not need more power. We need no more focus. We need reasons." Her response was met in agreement by Amethyst.
The wyvernnet's voice came out slowly and softly "You are a human. You are a dragon. You are Izuku. You are (Drakon). I see no difference."
Izuku could see Shadow's tongue flickering in the air. "Why do you hesitate? Bring the others out. You are not at full strength. We need everyone so that we can be strong. Others will be even stronger."
He flinched as a claw in his hair pulled a curl. "We follow because you collected a hoard. You gave us food and we became strong then we fight. This new world is the same. You bring us together again, feed us, then we fight. Why make it so hard?"
Izuku smiled at the responses. "Do you all feel the same?"
Queenie unwrapped from his arm and rose so that she could look him in the eye. "All our new enemies seem to want to fight. You already want to protect the hoard you call friends and family. Why should we deny the fools that wish to test our might?"
"We are getting stronger day by day. Let the prey come. It will be a worthy battle which we shall win." Came the grumble of Emerald.
Amethyst let out a bark that shifted to a hiss. Everyone turned their attention to her. "It seems that you already have a reason. Something happened to your father. Shinji Ame was murdered. The second best Hero came to warn you. Fight."
Shadows body rose with gentle flaps of its wings. "I wield the shadows at my whim. Amethyst heals. Emerald turns stone to powder and can throw it. Suppresor casts illusions. Queenie can poison and paralyze a foe. We are small. Bring out the bigger ones. If they want to fight...Show them why you are (Drakon)."
The teen heard a small purr from his head. "For the hoard! Fight! Destroy! Hunt!"
Chuckling, the green haired teen said "Then let us prepare."
The small voice of Suppresor cackled on his head as two eggs twice the size of a soccerball were placed on his bed.
The first egg was white with thin green lines surrounding it. It was encased in a thin crystal that drew the attention of Amethyst and Queenie. He could hear giggling over the [Familiar Communication].
"Oh! I can't wait for her to show up! We can have another girls night!" Hissed an excited Queenie.
Amethyst flapped her wings before staring at the egg. "Yes...She will be more than able to protect you."
"Ouch. That hurt!" Izuku said in a grimace.
The small dragonnet purred and rubbed against the other egg. Shadow landed beside it. Suppresor let loose a chirp and Shadow hissed.
Emerald was the only coherent male that Izuku could hear. "Yes. A fine choice. A new brother to go into battle with! Yes! We shall be victorious!"
A dark green egg was covered in pieces of black stone. Red dots layered the egg in a random pattern.
Only one person knew about these two monsters within the eggs. Exactly which two would come out. He could already hear (Lizbeth)'s disgruntled voice before he imagined her slapping him upside the head.
He grinned as he put energy into both eggs. His smile began to unnerve his Familiars before he brought out a familiar green cloak from his Inventory. The cloth was one that held a lot of memories for him.
Mei Hatsume was at her parents house. Power Loader had requested to have dinner with them so that they could discuss her apprenticeship in more detail. The adults were still talking when they heard her groan.
Her silverware dropped to the plate. She face palmed. "My (Drakon) senses are tingling."
This blunt declaration made Power Loader falter. "How? We aren't even in the game."
"Quick Question. How many dragons have you met with (Drakon)? How many were relatively...small?" Mei quickly spat out.
The man looked at her in confusion. "You mean Emerald? I met at least six. Biggest was Emerald. Why?"
The pink haired girl let out a laugh. "You think I'm slightly crazy right?"
Power Loader nodded. "Yes...I don't see where this is going..." He motioned for her to continue.
"(Drakon) only brought out small Familiars. He hasn't brought anything else out of his Inventory...like a certain fiftieth floor ((Field Boss)) named X'rphan? Or something near that size? And if he could bring out his Familiars..." Mei's voice trailed off as she saw the Hero pale.
"Please tell me your joking?" Whispered Power Loader.
"Well...If I was a genius...Who could create dragons...alter the body of a boy to handle the abilities of a gamer...and possibly had someone who could gather data from at least ten thousand people...I think a few pieces of fancy metal could easily be obtained." Mei's eyes zoomed in on the man.
"Oh." The man said.
"Yeah...What do you think will happen when Izuku decides to get serious?" The girl whispered.
"Fuck." Fear was in the mans eyes.
"And if he thought a friend...or his Mother were in danger?" The teenage girl leaned into her chair.
"Should we tell anyone?" Muttered the man.
She waved off his concern. "Nah...Besides everyone thinks the dragons are a threat."
The man rubbed his chin. "Yeah. Good point. (Drakon)...he really deserved that name."
She raised her drink to the man. "To the Dragons Hoard!"
He chuckled. "To the Dragons Hoard!"
They grinned.
Mei then cackled like a mad woman.
Power Loader laughed with her.
