Ember is not evil and helps Danny from the beginning defending Amity Park against the evil ghosts. How will this change everything, as Ember and Danny's friendship slowly grows into something more? Follows the same episodes of the tv-show, with some episodes being altered and adding a few of my own. Expect some plot twists and alternate pairings as well.

2. Parental Bonding

THE FLAME AND THE PHANTOM in:

PARENTAL BONDING

In the middle of the night, around 01:00am, Danny and Ember were at the Amity Park Junkyard. Danny, in his ghost form, reached out his arms and tried to fire something out of his hands, while Ember was watching him as she held her arms crossed. Danny wanted to learn from her how he too could fire a Ghost Ray himself, after she'd demonstrated it to him a few days back.

Danny started to get frustrated that even after two days of trying, he still couldn't do it "Ugh! I still can't do it, Ember. I've been trying this thing for two days and nothing… no ray blasts coming out of my hands."

Ember walked over to him and told him with an ensuring smile "Don't worry, dipstick. You only got your powers less than 2 months. Most ghosts that I know of have been trying it for years, before they were able to fire ray blasts by themselves. Just have a little patience and you'll get there."

Danny sighed as she had a point "Maybe. But if I ever gonna face other ghosts, who could be even more powerful than 'the Lunch Lady ghost', I need to be prepared."

Ember chuckled at that and stated "Look, Danny, you don't need to get stressed out that you have to push yourself further then you're used to. You already have all the basic skills that you need when you received your powers. And when it comes to powerful ghosts, you got me around to help you. What more can a guy like you wish for?"

These encouraging words from his friend made a smile form on Danny's face "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Ember nodded and then suggested to practice on something else, a power that Danny already learned to control "Okay, let's do something else. Did you made any progress with your 'Overshadowing' power?"

Danny nodded "I sure did." he looked around and saw a few rats not too far from them. He flew up and was about to show what he already could do with it "Check this out!" Danny flew to the rats, who ran away in fear when they saw him, but Danny became intangible and overshadowed one of the rats.

With the rat under his control, Danny used it's body to stand on two feet and started to dance 'the robot' and even made some beeping sounds, in rat noises. This made Ember laugh. Danny did this for a minute till he left the rat's body and became tangible again. The rat quickly crawled away.

While Ember still laughed she tried to say "Okay, you sure got that power under control. Hahahaha!" As her laughter had died down, Ember decided to do a little bit more harder training "Alright, let's do the 'Junkyard-course'. First one making it to the finish-line, without going intangible or hit any of the objects along the way, wins."

Danny smirked at that "Let's do it."

As both raced through Ember's own made course, Danny tried as hard as he could to avoid the large objects that Ember had placed around, while also trying keeping the lead.

Ember smirked back at him as she took the lead "I thought you were faster than that, dipstick?"

"Just watch me." Danny said with a smirk back and went faster.

Just as they were about to make it to finish line, one of the old water-tower's tanks suddenly got loose and fell down. Ember quickly stopped, but Danny went so fast that he had no time to stop. Without thinking he stretched out his hand quickly to the falling tank while closing his eyes tight, creating a ghost ray being balled up and shoots at the tank, instantly sending it flying backwards!

Upon realizing what Danny did when he opened his eyes, Danny looked at his glowing green hand "I did it…?" he then cheered in victory while raising his fist in the air, as he was finally able to shoot a Ghost Ray "I did it! I can fire ray blasts now!"

Ember joined Danny and gave him a proudly smile "See, dipstick? Just have a bit of patience. And by the way," she then quickly flew to the finish line, that was actually right behind Danny "I win." she said to him with a smirk.

Danny was first annoyed as Ember took advantage of the situation in order to win the junkyard-course, but then he smiled "Very clever."

"It's not just cleverness, Danny." Ember stated as she walked up to him "Take my advice on this: Even when you develop a new power during a battle, never drop your attention from your opponent." Danny nodded that he will remember that in the future.

Ember then started to yawn and said "Alright, that's enough training for now. Let's go home and get some sleep. We need all the energy for school tomorrow."

Danny agreed to that "Yeah, good plan."

Danny flew up while Ember used her guitar as a flying board and both left the junkyard and flew together back to their places.

While flying, Danny thought about how much he had improved thanks to Ember being his mentor. That also made him to start remembering what happened two weeks ago, when Ember decided to attend Casper High, not only in order to blend in with the others but also to stay at Danny's side, should any new ghosts appear to start messing around. Danny however figured that the main reason was so she can be around with her new friends, him, Sam and Tucker.

*Flashback*

Casper High

(March 22nd, 2004. Three days after the 'Lunch Lady Ghost' incident)

Danny walked together with Tucker and Sam into their first class of the day. While the other students were talking amongst each other, Danny and his friends sat down at their regular seats, while Danny was yawning. He was tired from training all weekend with Ember and capturing a few ghosts.

"Geez, Danny. You look tired. Did you even slept last night?" Tucker asked concerned.

"I did," Danny answered while rubbing his eye "For a couple of hours."

"Long training sessions with Ember?" Sam wandered.

Danny shook his head while explaining"No, it's not that. Last night, when we had just finished training, some ghosts were messing around in the Amity Park Mall. So we had to captured them, which cost us almost two hours."

Sam then tried to give some advice to Danny "Maybe you should take a step back from it all? I mean; school, training and hunting ghosts all at the same time? You're maybe strong, Danny, but not that strong. You need to be careful."

Danny understood Sam's concerns "I appreciate your concern for me, Sam, but-" he interupted himself when his peaceful ghost sense suddenly went off, feeling that Ember was near. He looked around to see if she was anywhere.

At that moment, Mr. Lancer walked into the classroom, together with a new student. Danny and Tucker were both completely surprised to see that it was Ember in her human disguise. But that was not all, she was also wearing a whole different outfit then her iconic 80's gothic rock outfit. Ember was now wearing a black shirt with short sleeves with a rock hand symbol on it with the words 'ROCK' under it, long dark blue pants, black gothic boots with lots of laces and black/purple fingerless gloves. The things from her former outfit that she did still wear, was her black choker around her neck and black bracelet around her left arm, over one of her fingerless gloves. As for Ember's makeup, her purple lipstick was still the same, but did not wear her signature makeup at the corner of her eyes, instead she was wearing dark blue/black eye-shadow and her disguised long brown hair was still in the same ponytail at the top of her head.

Danny and Tucker had no idea what was going on. Why was Ember at their school in her human disguise, in a whole new outfit? Only Sam seemed to have expected that Ember was coming. When Ember saw Danny, Tucker and Sam at their seats, she knew that the guys would be surprised to see her and thought it was funny to see their surprised faces when they saw her, especially Danny's, cause he looked worried for some reason.

Lancer then called all the students in the classroom "Alright everyone, let's take our seats." All the other students obeyed and took their places. Some were curious about the new girl in their class. Only the popular kids (entitled as the A-Listers) were starting to gossip among each other of what kind of a loser had come to their school now. When Lancer placed some papers on his desk, he started saying "Now, before we're going to start, I want you all introduce our new student on Gasper High. So say hello to Emily McLain."

Ember felt a bit nervous to be in the open now, but seeing Sam giving her an encouraging smile, made Ember to nod and introduced herself to the class "Uhm… Hi. I'm Emily McLain. I'm from LA, California and… now I live here."

While some students were waiting to hear more about her, Lancer nodded and asked "And what about LA? Tell us something about the neighborhood you lived in, miss McLain?"

Ember had expected this kind of question and had practiced with Sam during the weekend, in case somebody would ever ask her about her background. She nodded and answered "Well, we used to live close to Hermosa Beach, where my Mom worked at the coast guard and my Dad used to own a surfboard shop there. Till my parents decided to have a big change… like getting out of their comfort zone… or, whatever…" Ember tried to pretend she didn't like her parent's decision to move and doing something else with their lives. And it seems that the other students and Mr. Lancer had fallen for it. Ember then moved on to what she liked to do with her free time "Anyway, I like to go surfing, what doesn't come as a surprise as my dad owned a surfboard shop once." that comment made some laugh, including Lancer, while Ember went on "But I also like to sing and play electric guitar. So, that's pretty much me."

Lancer seemed to have fallen completely for it and formed a smile "Well, I'm sure we're gonna make you feel home here in no time. So pick a seat, so we can start."

Ember nodded and looked at the few seats that were free. One was next to another A-lister, a blond girl named Star. But she already shook her head to the new girl as she pulled the empty seat to her "This one is taken."

Ember shrugged, as she wasn't planning to sit there anyway. The next free spot was in the third row, next to Kwan, who was Dash Baxter's best friend. He seemed to doubt a bit if he should allow Ember to sit next to him. But after looking at Dash, who shook his head while frowning that he better not allow the new girl to sit next to him, Kwan nodded and moved the chair to him saying "Taken."

Ember rolled her eyes as she moved on "Whatever." She was actually going to the last seat that was free, in between Sam and Danny.

Once she sat down, Lancer was about to start with the class. Danny immediately whispered to Ember "Ember, what the hell are you doing here?!"

"Shhh! Quiet Danny!" Ember whispered back to Danny "It's Emily, remember?"

Danny nodded while apologized and corrected himself "Sorry… Emily, right. But, What are you doing here… Emily?!"

Ember sighed as she quietly stated why she was here at his school as a new student "Well… I don't need to hide myself anymore, right? So I figured that I should attend your school, so I could better blend in with the crowd in order to avoid suspicion. But, it's also to stay close to you in case some other ghosts show up."

Danny however was still worried and whispered "But… how are you even able to disguise as a human? You're not even wearing the Fenton Ghost-Disguise!"

Ember giggled because Danny hadn't noticed her wearing the 'Disguise belt' that he gave to her and explained "Don't worry, dipstick. I wear the Fenton Ghost-Disguise under my shirt."

Danny nodded as he got it, but also asked "Are you sure that it's a good idea to be around here? I mean… what if anybody recognizes you in your… 'ghost form'?"

Just as Ember was about to explain Danny how she'd figured out how to make nobody recognize her when she's in her ghost form, Lancer had noticed that Danny and Ember were rather paying attention to each other then listening to his lesson and called to them "Mr. Fenton! Miss McLain! I expect everybody to pay attention during my classes, especially the two of you!"

That made Danny and Ember to pay their attention back to Lancer's teachings and nodded.

As Lancer continued his lesson, Ember whispered to Danny "I'll explain it later, in the cafeteria." Danny nodded and both went back to their schoolwork.

A few hours later, in the school cafeteria, Ember explained to Danny and Tucker how she's able to wear her 80's gothic outfit again when she turns back into her original ghost form, in the same way when Danny transforms into his ghost form and wears the black-white hazmat suit instead of his regular clothing.

Ember later on showed it to the guys, being behind the school. When she clicked on the Fenton logo on the belt and transformed back into her ghost form, she wear again her iconic Rock outfit and signature makeup at the corner of her eyes.

"See? Nobody who will suspect a thing." Ember said confident while she pressed the Fenton logo again and transformed back into her human disguise, wearing her new clothes and new makeup.

Tucker nodded as that was impressive "Not bad, Ember."

Danny too nodded in agreement, but also wanted to know where Ember got those amazing new clothes "Yeah, not bad at all. But, where did you get those new clothes? You didn't steal them, did you?" he asked suspicious.

Sam walked over to Ember and stood next to her while she answered Danny's question "She got them thanks to me. Last Saturday, we went for some shopping and that's where I brought the idea that Ember should be attending school."

Ember nodded and placed an arm around Sam while also saying "I wasn't sure at first if I should attend Casper High, but after Sam convinced me to go, I got myself registered yesterday."

Danny and Tucker were a bit surprised to hear that from Ember, that Sam was so kind to buy Ember new clothes and convince her to join them at school, but figured that she was kind enough to let her stay in her parent's attic, Sam would also provide their new friend with some new outfits and they should stick together.

Just then, Danny's warning ghost sense went off. They heard a large roar coming from the other side of school and then heard people running in panic. Danny, Tucker, Sam and Ember checked and saw three ghost ectopuses attacking the students, while grabbing two teachers in their tentacles. Danny and Ember looked at each other and nodded as they both transformed into their ghost forms and flew after the ghost ectopuses.

After a short fight, the three ghost ectopuses were captured in the Fenton thermos and the school was saved.

End of flashback…

When Danny and Ember flew above 'Fenton Works', both hovered above the roof as Ember told Danny "You know, dipstick. I never saw anyone learning controlling their new powers as fast as you do, even you're just a half-ghost."

Danny chuckled as he said "I just have great mentor."

Ember was flattered by that "Thanks. See you tomorrow, partner."

Both gave a fist bump "Yeah, good night… Emily." Danny said before he became intangible and phrased down the roof, into his room, as Ember flew away back at Sam's place.

Ember phrased through the wall and became tangible again. She was happy to be back in her new improved home in the attic, which thanks to Sam's 'little investment' was now looking a lot better, with a large bed, a tv, a little fridge and many posters of rock bands hanging on the walls. Sam also paid the housemaid double, so she won't tell her parents about the improvements she'd done to the attic. Ember was truly grateful to have a friend like Sam.

As Ember took off the 'Fenton Human Disguiser' and placed her guitar on a guitar holder on the wall, she decided to take a shower before going to bed.

Because all the walls in Sam's house were sound proof, she didn't had to worry that someone would hear her. As she was allowed to use Sam's shower, she phased down the floor till she was in Sam's private bathroom, while holding a towel, toothbrush and her pajamas.

When she puts her stuff down on a small desk, Ember started turning on the shower while taking off her clothes and stepped into the shower. As the minutes went by, while Ember used some soap to wash herself throughout her body, she was starting to sing to herself the song that she had been working on for a while.

Sam, who was sleeping in her bed, could hear Ember singing in her bathroom. She opened her eyes a bit as she heard Ember's singing voice and thought to herself 'Wow. Ember can sing really great.'

As Ember kept singing, Sam easily felt asleep again.

After some minutes, Ember had finished her shower and puts on her pajamas after drying herself with her towel. When she had finished brushing her teeth, she took her stuff and turned herself intangible as she phrased up through the ceiling, entering her room back in the attic.

She then puts her Rock outfit over a chair, together with her human-disguiser belt and then floated over to her bed and instantly fell asleep as she lied down on it while covering herself with her blanket.

The next morning, at Fenton Works…

(April 2nd, 2004)

Jack was downstairs in the lab, sitting on a chair in front of the Ghost-Portal while wearing a soda hat and a fishing vest. As he takes some large sips from his soda, he casts a glowing-white fishing line into the open portal.

At that same moment, Danny walks down into the lab with his backpack over his shoulder. He wanted to see what his dad was up to this time before going to school. He drops his backpack on the floor and walks up behind his father, who was really concentrating while taking more sips from his soda hat.

"Hey, dad. What are you doing?" Danny asked his dad.

Jack immediately hushed his son "Danny keep it down. You'll scare away the ghosts."

Danny narrowed his eyes as he figured that his father was fishing for ghosts, what really sounded ridiculous "You're… fishing for ghosts?"

Jack nodded and showed him the special fishing rod he's using "Correct! It's the Fenton Ghost Fisher," Jack then stretches out the the line a bit "Check out this line. Coated with a special high/test ectoplasmal resin that ghosts can't break. Quiet now, don't wanna spook 'em." Jack recast the line into the portal as he sips more of his soda, causing his stomach to rumble "Whoa! That soda goes right through you like Sherman through Georgia." Jack gives the Fenton Fisher to Danny and hurries upstairs to use the restroom "Here! Hang on to this! I'll be right back after I use the Fenton Urinal."

Danny rolled his eyes as he watched the portal while holding the Fenton Fisher and talked to himself "Okay, a line that ghosts are unable to break is kinda cool, but using it to fish for ghosts is just stupid. I mean, what are the odds that my dad will ACTUALLY fish a ghost with this!?" Just then, the fishing line suddenly reels out further in to the portal, making Danny surprised "Huh? I got one?" but then his ghost sense goes off, making him worried of whatever had caught the line.

Danny struggled to keep hold of the Fenton Fisher and tries to pull it back. But then, the line breaks and a big blue ghost dragon emerges out of the portal with the line hanging in its mouth! It roars as it dropped the line and yells "I want to go!"

Danny steps back, trying to ease the dragon as it approached him "Whoa whoa, take it easy there. Let's just-"

But before he could finish his sentence, the dragon grabs him in its fist and yells to him "I HAVE to go!"

Danny narrowed his eyes at it "If you really have to go, you gotta have to stand in line behind my dad. In the meantime…" Danny then transforms into his ghost form and escapes the dragon's grasp by turning into a blue mist and then reform.

The dragon ghost was surprised by that and then tried to hit Danny twice with its fists, but missed every time. It then breaths out green fire at Danny, what he narrowly dodged in time. Danny had enough of this and launched a powerful kick in its face, sending the dragon flying backwards across the room, during which its golden amulet falls off its neck and falls into Danny's open backpack without both of them noticing before the dragon lands hard on the floor.

The dragon then looks sad at Danny, making him raising an eyebrow. But then Danny was surprised as he saw the dragon slowly began to transform into a green skinned ghost girl, with long golden blond hair and wearing a blue princess dress.

Danny lands in front of her, as the ghost girl was on her knees, she said sadly "All I wanted was to go to the Princess Costume Ball. And my horrid mummy won't let me!" she wails as she flies back through the portal.

This whole thing made Danny weirded out about this as he transformed back to his human form "What the hell was that all about? Ah well, at least that dragon, or whatever she was, is gone. What a relief." Danny said as he was relieved that the ghost went back to the Ghost-Zone before she could cause even more damage.

Just then, Jack returns down to the lab with two new soda cans, telling "I'll tell you what a relief is… Darn, I almost forgot." Jack realizes he forgot to flush the toilet and went back upstairs to flush it, making Danny roll his eyes.

Danny just puts the two soda cans on the table, took his backpack (still not knowing that the ghost's amulet was inside) and was about to leave. Jack had just came back again and asked with a smile while Danny went upstairs "Hey, don't you wanna fish some ghosts with your old man?"

"Sorry, Dad. I gotta go to school. See you later." Danny left through the front door, leaving his father to 'fish for ghosts' by himself.

Later that afternoon, at Casper High's school yard…

Many students of Casper High decided to eat their lunch outside, as it was a beautiful day. On top of the entrance stood a big banner which said 'The Big Dance' and another small sign next to the door saying 'Dance Tomorrow' to remind the students that the school dance was tomorrow, so they got only one more day left to find themselves a date to take him or her to the dance.

Tucker was standing outside, holding the door open as girls walked out past him, hoping to score a date for the dance by using his 'charms' to win them over.

A beautiful brunette walked past him, making Tucker ask in a polite way "Hey there, I-"

"No!" the girl immediately answered, as she wasn't interested to take him to the dance.

Then a blond girl walked past him "Hi, would you-"

"Forget it." the blondie said to Tucker

Then a black girl walked past him, but immediately said while holding up her hand towards him "No!"

"I didn't ask you yet!" Tucker said annoyed.

Not far from where Tucker was standing, Danny, Sam and Ember were eating their lunch at a picnic table. Danny was telling Ember about his encounter with the dragon ghost this morning in detail. Ember already knew who that ghost was "Oh, that must have been Princess Dorathea who you fought."

"Dora who?" Danny asked while raising his eyebrow.

"Dorathea. She's a ghost from the Dark Ages… or I think she is. She always transforms into a dragon when she gets emotionally angry." Ember stated.

After hearing this from Ember, Sam felt proud at Danny that he was able to stop Dorathea before she would rain havoc on Amity Park "Well, good thing that he send her back to the Ghost-Zone."

Ember nodded but then asked Danny "Yeah, but… how did you manage to calm her down after delivering just one kick in her face?"

He thought about it and politely answered "Actually, I didn't calmed her down. When she crashed on the floor, she transformed back into her normal self while looking sad and flew, just like that, back into the Ghost-Zone."

This was a bit weird for Ember. Normally Dorathea never calms down so easily, as far as she knew. While Ember thought about this, Tucker joined them as he sat down next to Danny, looking upset.

"Still no luck in finding a date for the dance, Tucker?" Danny asked.

"Nope." Tucker answered.

Sam never saw the whole point of going to a dance and told what was on her mind while rolling her eyes "I don't know what the big deal is about going to some stupid dance?"

"Why?" Ember asked her.

Sam chuckled as she stated "Trust me, Em. I don't need to be asked to some dance to know I'm special. I-" Sam stopped as she glances at Danny and Tucker, seeing they were both staring in a happy daze, not paying attention to what Sam was saying "What?!" Sam asked annoyed.

"Paulina…" both Danny and Tucker said simultaneously.

Sam and Ember turned their heads, looking to where Danny and Tucker were staring at, seeing it was the most beautiful and popular girl of Casper High: Paulina Sanchez.

The Latino girl walked down a pathway, making all boys stare distractedly at her because of her amazing beauty. One boy even crashed his bike into a tree, while another walks a guy sitting on a fountain and both fell into the water, only to sit up and continue to stare.

Tucker kept staring at her in his happy daze "Paulina…"

However, Danny sighs deep as he stops staring at Paulina and went back eating his sandwich, looking a bit upset.

Ember wandered why he was all of the sudden upset "That's… Paulina? The one from your song?" she asked Danny.

Danny nodded without looking at Ember "Yeah. Same one."

Sam agreed while also annoyingly stated "Same Paulina, who girls like her are a dime a dozen."

That made Tucker search his pockets and pulls out some change "How much change you got?" he asked Danny.

Sam chuckled sarcastically "Ha ha! Very funny. Just remember: you can't just judge a book by its cover."

Ember nodded in agreement "I agree with Sam. True beauty comes from within, not by what's on the outside."

Tucker then looked at Danny, as he knew that Danny has a major crush on Paulina, suggesting "Well, there's only one way to find out. Go on, Danny. Go to that library and check out that book!"

Danny wasn't so sure about that and said while putting down his sandwich "Tucker, don't you remember the last time I tried to impress her?"

"What happened?" Ember asked, wandering what Danny tried last time to impress Paulina.

Tucker explained to her "Danny tried to sing her a song on his guitar during lunch break. He only got to play a few notes, before Dash bumped in and disturbed the moment, by grabbing his guitar and breaking it in half."

Ember was shocked to hear that, while Danny told further "Yeah. He warned me that I better stay away from his girl, or next time he's going to break more than just my guitar. I wasn't scared by his threats, but I left anyway. I just don't get it! How can Dash and Paulina be a couple, when they are one day acting like they're boyfriend and girlfriend and the next day they're not?!"

Hearing that from Danny made Ember angry. For she knew that Danny had a talent and that people try to break that disgusted her. However, as she looked around, she didn't see Dash anywhere and said with a smirk "Well, Dash isn't here right now. So why don't you try and ask her for the dance?"

Danny wasn't sure "Uh… I don't know-"

But before he realized, Ember stood up, walks over to Danny while lifting him up and gave him a little push "Better try now then never, dipstick."

Tucker tried to hold his laugh because of hearing Ember calling Danny by his nickname "Pffpfffpf! Dipstick… hihihi." but after seeing Ember glaring at him, he immediately stopped and said while nervously smiling "Which is completely fine by me!"

Danny walked over to Paulina, who was sitting under a tree while eating her lunch. Danny takes a deep breath and leans against the tree with one arm "Hi! I…" but then Danny's arm turns intangible, making him lose balance and fall to the ground, right in front of Paulina.

The Latino girl was not amused by that, as falling for her 'literally' was not gonna work on her and said with her Hispanic accent "Please! Don't say you've suddenly fallen for me. That line is so last semester."

When Danny stood up, he tried to explain that that was not why he approached her and nervously said "Uhh… no! T-that's not it! I… Uh-"

Then Paulina recognized Danny from somewhere "Wait a minute. Were you not that guy that played the guitar, that my 'ex-boyfriend' Dash broke in half?"

Danny nodded while still being nervous "Oh… uh… yeah! Yeah, that's right…. I'm… I'm Danny." His nervousness caused his pants to glow green for a moment, before becoming intangible and fall on the ground, exposing his boxers.

The other students in the yard laughed, while Sam, Tucker and Ember felt bad for Danny "Oh boy…" Ember said, feeling that Danny's nervousness caused him to lose control over his powers for a moment.

Paulina was laughing too "Hahahaha! A gentleman usually tips his hat, but I'll give you points for originality."

While Danny quickly pulls his pants back up, Ember walked over to him while putting her hand on his shoulder "Kudos, Danny. You just set an all-time speed record for drowning in the shallow end of the gene pool."

Paulina took a moment to think what Ember was talking about, but once she realized that she was insulting her, Paulina was not gonna take that from the Californian rock-chick "Oh, no! You did not just call me shallow, did you?!"

While Ember folded her arms, she said while smirking "If you mean do I think I can stand in a puddle full of you and not get my feet wet? Then yeah."

"Shallow?! I am not shallow!" Paulina said angry.

Ember then puts her arm over Danny's shoulders and walked away with him "C'mon Danny, let's get out of here."

"Uh… yeah, good plan." Danny agreed to that.

As the crowd dissipates, Paulina was thinking about something while watching the 'nerd with the guitar' and the 'rock-chick' walking along and figured she could get her back for insulting her, making her smirk evilly "On the other hand, I'm not so deep that I couldn't lure a boy away from a rock geek. And I will."

A few hours later, just before the final class…

Danny, who was taking out some books from his locker and puts them in his bag, Tucker, who stood next to him, was watching other girls walking by and told Danny how he finally figured out how score a date for the dance "Thanks to you, I now know the quickest way to a woman's heart: Clean boxers."

Danny shook his head as he closed his locker "Trust me, Tucker. Dropping your pants and show your boxers in front of a girl, is not the way to ask her out on a date."

"Well, you did make Paulina laugh. So that counts." Tucker corrected him as humor is the first step to win her over.

Danny sighs as he puts his backpack over his shoulder "Damnit. I really blew it just now. Paulina will definitely not even look at me now."

"Yoo-hoo, Danny!" Danny heard from the one girl he did not expect to hear from, Paulina.

He turns himself and saw her waving at him, while all the guys around her lustfully sigh. This surprised Danny, as his hope had been restored and smiled "Or not! Hey, Tuck?" he asked his friend in a way that he should leave.

Tucker noticed what his friend was asking for and was about to leave "I get it. I'm out. Good luck."

Paulina walked over to Danny in a flirty way "Hi, you. I just wanted to-"

But before she could finish her sentence, Dash suddenly slams Danny into his locker and shuts it "Meet me? Who doesn't?" Dash said while leaning against Danny's locker.

Paulina crossed her arms, to see what her ex-boyfriend wanted from her this time "What do you want, Dash?"

Danny became intangible and invisibly phrased out of his locker, glaring at Dash, who was trying to impress Paulina that she should go with him to the dance and said while giving a grin "Why wasting your time with that music-nerd? If you can go with me, Dash Baxter, All-star quarterback and school hero," While Danny looked fierce at Dash before he suddenly got an idea and smirked as he was gonna overshadowing Dash. While Dash kept talking, Danny took over his body "I'm also-" Dash's eyes suddenly turned green, making Danny in control over his body.

As Danny, in Dash's body, looked at himself and then at Paulina, who raised an eyebrow of being suspicious. Danny knew just how to make Dash look bad to his ex-girlfriend and said in Dash's voice "I'm also president of the Casper High geek club, and I have every toenail I've ever clipped. Want to see 'em?"

"No." Paulina said while frowning, being disgusted what 'Dash' asked.

Danny wasn't finished yet "Oh, then you should get to know Danny Fenton. He doesn't scrub his mom's feet every night like I do." he said while kneeling down and picking up one of Paulina's foot.

Paulina had enough of this and backs up, feeling grossed out that Dash was acting like this "Eew! Get lost, loser!"

Danny left Dash's body, feeling victorious as he laughed while phrasing back into his locker.

Dash, realizing that Paulina wants him to leave, did so. But while he walked through the hallway, he rubbed his head and asked himself "Why do I suddenly feel like scrubbing my mom's feet?"

Paulina opened Danny's locker, letting him out "Thanks-" he said before out with a yelp, dropping his backpack onto the floor as well, with Dora's amulet falling out of it.

When Danny rubbed his head, Paulina kneeled down at him and said in a flirty way "We have to stop meeting like this." but then, she notices the amulet on the floor between Danny's books "Oh my gosh! What's that?" she asked while picking it up, feeling entranced as the amulet looked beautiful.

Danny was confused, as he had no idea how that amulet got in his backpack "That? Oh, uh, it's a…. You like it?" he asked with a smile.

"It's beautiful!" Paulina answered with still looking at the amulet.

Danny figured that this might be the way to ask Paulina for the dance, so stated while standing up "Hey, that's great! Because, I… got it for you."

"Really?!" Paulina said, giving him the biggest smile that he ever saw in her.

Danny nodded "Yeah. In… case I got the nerve to ask you to the dance and… if you said yes, I thought I'd want to give you something." he stated while his nervousness caused his pants to turn intangible again, but luckily caught it in time before it dropped down and asked "So… would you… like to go with me to the dance?"

Paulina gave Danny a lovely smile "Well, you are kind of cute and you have a great taste in underwear. I'd love to go with you." she answered while putting the amulet around her neck. Paulina then walks away while giving a small wave at Danny.

But what Danny and neither Paulina knew, is that the amulet was cursed and started to overtake Paulina with its power, causing her eyes to glow green for a while.

Danny smiled for a moment, but then frowns, as that amulet wasn't even his and had no idea how it got into his backpack "What am I doing? That thing doesn't belong to me. It could be my mom's, or my sister's." but then figured that he had accomplished the impossible of asking the most popular girl in school out for the dance "Or I could worry about that later? Because she said YES! Woohoo!" he raised his fist triumphantly in the air, letting his pants drop down again by accident "Oh, nuts!" Danny said as how embarrassed he is, while some students laughed at Danny's humiliation.

While Danny quickly pulls back up his pants, Mr. Lancer walks up behind him "Pantless again, Mr. Fenton? Third time this week I've caught you… how you kids say?" he asked as he takes out a book called 'How To Sound Hip For The Unhip' "Dropping trou."

Danny tried to explain "Uh… it was an accident, Mr. Lancer. I-"

"I think it's time I see your father for a parent-teacher conference." Lancer said while giving Danny a note, saying his father should meet him after school.

This made Danny worried as he took the note "M-my dad?"

"Until then, here," Lancer holds out a belt and gave it to Danny "It'll help you keep your pants up and…" then he looks into his book again and said "…out of trouble with the man."

A little while later…

Danny walked out of the school together with his friends and headed home. Danny almost couldn't believe that from all the students on Casper High, he had scored a date with the hottest and mos popular girl in school. This was something that he had desired for a long time. A smile grew on his face as he thought about it. But slowly… Danny was starting to have second doubts about it and had no idea why he wasn't feeling as glad about it as he thought he would be.

As Tucker said goodbye to the rest after a few minutes and headed to his place, Ember asked Danny while walking together with Sam "See you at training tonight?"

Danny nodded a bit, while looking unsure "Uhh… yeah. Same time? 10:00 pm?"

"Danny, we always start at 10:00 pm. Is something wrong?" Ember asked what was troubling him.

Danny then showed the note from Mr. Lancer to her and Sam, while stating "Mr. Lancer wants to have a word with my dad, because I keep dropping my pants. I don't know why it keeps happening to me lately?" Danny said while pointing to the belt he's been wearing now around his waist to hold his pants.

Sam felt bad for Danny "Lancer wants a one on one talk with your dad? Ouch."

Ember gave the note back to Danny as she explained "Danny, it's your uncertainty and nervousness that causes your pants to drop, by allowing your powers to respond to your emotions. You need to try harder to keep your emotions under control."

Danny nodded as he was willing to try "I'll… try harder next time."

"Good. But what are you going to do about your dad when he finds out about your 'pants problem'?" Ember asked.

Danny thought about it and said while they moved on "I don't know. I'll figure out something."

"Well you better," Sam said "Otherwise you'll be in even bigger trouble then you are already in now."

Danny nodded and took the street to his house "I will. Later, and see you soon, Ember!" he said to both Sam and Ember.

After a few minutes, Danny came home and went to the laboratory downstairs, where his father was still sitting in front of the Ghost-Portal, fishing for ghosts with the Ghost Fisher.

Danny walked to him and asked "Hey, Dad. Catch anything yet?"

Jack sighed deep as he was feeling frustrated "Son, I couldn't even catch a cold. I've been sitting here all day without a single bite." Jack then reeled in his line while saying "I'm so frustrated I want to take out my rage on the first person who gives me bad news." That made Danny a bit nervous while his father casts line out again "Anyway, you wanted to tell me something?" Jack asked his son.

With the little courage Danny still had left, he tried to tell what he wanted to say to his father, as he held the note "Uh… well, sort of. Mr. Lancer-"

That made Jack looking straight at Danny and narrowed his eyes "Mr. Lancer what? Is this bad news?"

Some sweat formed at Danny's face as he quickly held the note behind his back "Mr. Lancer…" but then, Danny got a brilliant idea. While Jack looked back at the portal for a moment, Danny quickly overshadowed his dad. Once he got full control over his body, Jack's eyes turned green. Danny made Jack rise up from his chair and looked at himself "Perfect!" Danny smiled as this was a perfect cover so that his dad won't notice a thing and making Lancer believe that he's having a conversation with Danny's father, while it is actually with Danny in Jack's body!

An hour later, in Mr. Lancer's office…

An overshadowed Jack was sitting across the desk from Mr. Lancer "Thank you for coming to discuss your son's schooling, Mr. Fenton." Lancer said.

"Well, sure! I'm a parent, and that's what parents do." Danny said while overshadowing his dad, but felt unsure if what he just said was right, which made him to form a nervously smile.

Lancer didn't seem to notice and told why he had asked Danny's father to see him "Well, there were a couple of incidents… with his pants."

"Did his pants fall down again?" the overshadowed Jack asked "Poor Danny. He studies so hard he forgets to eat. I know these things because I'm his dad and not him." the overshadowed Jack smiled nervously while leaning an arm on Lancer's desk, hoping he falls for it.

Lancer rubs his chin while thinking about it "Hmm… that would explain things."

'I can't believe it. He totally falls for it!' Danny mentally told himself and decided to make Lancer a bit more impressed by saying "Of course you understand. No wonder you're Danny's favorite teacher."

"I am?" Lancer asked while raising an eyebrow, being surprised that Danny sees him as his favorite teacher.

Danny just piled up some more by saying in the overshadowing Jack "We Fentons consider teachers to be underpaid and under-appreciated." he smiles nervously again.

Lancer was impressed by that "I like your style, Mr. Fenton," he then gestures as he holds a school dance flyer "In fact, I'd like you to chaperone the upcoming school dance."

That caught Danny by surprise. This was something that he didn't planned to happen "Chaperone? Well, I'm not sure…"

"I am. See you tommorow. Or, as the kids say," Lancer reads from his 'How To Sound Hip' book and said while he points to Jack with a handgun gesture "Catch you later, G!"

Danny, still overshadowing Jack knew that he'd just blew it and had only made things worse.

A few hours later, in Amity Park's Junkyard…

Danny, in his ghost form, was target practicing to some cans, using his Ghost Ray to shoot at them. After he hit one can, but missed the one next to it, Ember asked after Danny told what he had said to Lancer while overshadowing his father "So, let me get this straight? You overshadowed your dad to have a talk with Lancer and now your dad is asked to chaperone the school dance?"

Feeling irritated, Danny nodded while saying "Yeah, I thought that overshadowing my dad was a good plan; instead I made everything worse! And my dad doesn't even know he's going to chaperone, because he doesn't even remember I made him to say yes!" Feeling his frustrations heating up, Danny aimed at the last can and fired a Ghost Ray, hitting it!

Ember shrugged as she folded her arms "Well, I don't like to say this to you, dipstick, but if you got yourself into that mess, so now you gotta get yourself out."

"Well, thank you so much for your support, Ember." Danny answered sarcastically while shooting his Ghost Ray at some more cans.

That comment made Ember to frown at Danny. And Danny… he felt something… like he could feel Ember's negative energy. He couldn't explain why he felt it, but it made him to feel sorry for saying such words. He sighed deep and looked at Ember with a regretful face "I'm sorry, Ember. I… I shouldn't have said that. You're right, I started this mess, so I got to clean it up. I guess I didn't thought this thing through before I overshadowed my dad."

Seeing that Danny was really sorry for what he said, she formed a small smile and patted his shoulder "It's okay, dipstick. Mistakes are there to learn. I mean, even I can do things without even thinking. And maybe I was a bit on edge just now. I'll help you get out of this. Me, Sam and Tucker. All of us." Danny smiled at her back, feeling grateful to have her back on this.

Then he looked at the cans he hit and asked "So… how do I do it with firing Ghost Ray's?"

Ember looked at the cans he hit and said "You hit… 6 cans."

"Yes!" Danny yelled in victory.

"But, you missed the remaining 24 ones."

That made Danny a disappointed look "Ah man…!"

Ember just chuckled as she put some new cans in place. While she did that, she asked Danny who helped her to put a few cans in place "Speaking of which, now that your dad is gonna chaperone the dance, how are you going to fix that while you have a date with Paulina?"

Danny scratched his head as he didn't thought about that yet "I don't know. But, I'll figure out something."

When they stood ready to shoot some more cans, Ember was first showing Danny how to aim well as she hit 10 cans in a row, using her own pink colored Ghost Ray.

Then Ember asked Danny "Say, how did you manage to get Paulina to go with you to the dance anyway? I know that it's only a slim chance that the most popular girl in school woul say yes to you."

While Danny shot his Ghost Ray's and hit 4 cans in a row, he told her what had happened before Paulina said yes to Danny and took the amulet as a gift for being asked out.

That made Ember suspicious of what amulet Danny was talking about "Hold on! What amulet?"

Danny just shrugged as he wasn't sure "I'm not sure. Maybe it could be my mom's or sister's, or… I don't know."

"And you have no idea how that thing got into you backpack in the first place?"

Danny shook his head "Not really, no."

Ember was now getting really suspicious about this, as how that strange amulet got all of the sudden in Danny's backpack "Hmmm, I think we should better investigate this."

Danny didn't saw the point, but figuring that Ember was maybe right and that they should investigate this, just to be sure.

Ember ended the training session a bit earlier, so she could start to investigate, while Danny went home to rest.

Luckily for Ember, Sam was not yet asleep and was just sitting on her bed with her laptop, doing some homework. As Ember phrased through her bedroom wall, Sam was a bit surprised to see Ember back so early "Ember? You're done early."

Ember didn't wait to ask her "Sam, can you do something for me?"

The next day, at the Amity Park Mall, late in the afternoon…

(April 3rd, 2004)

Danny and Tucker were shopping at the mall for suits for the dance. Even though Tucker still didn't had a date for the dance, he just wanted to buy one, for in case he did scored a date in time.

Later on, they met with Ember and Sam at the food court. Danny and Tucker had both ordered a hamburger and some fries and sat down with their meals at a table, waiting for Ember and Sam, who waited in line for their ordered meals.

Danny told him about overshadowing his dad and now got him to chaperone the dance. While Tucker had a mouthful of food, a girl walks by and was about to ask "Mmm!"

"No." was the girl's immediate answer, making Tucker to sigh deep.

But then Tucker asked Danny "So, your dad is going to chaperone the dance tonight?"

Danny worriedly nodded "Yes. And how am I to keep an eye on dad, while I have a date with Paulina?!"

Tucker didn't know how he suppose too handle that, but asked instead "Let me get this straight. You and Ember can just walk into people and take over their bodies form the inside?"

"Yeah, pretty much." Danny answered while crossing his arms.

Tucker then spots another girl, sitting at another table while reading a book. He got an idea and asked Danny "Hey, Danny. If you could control a girl for just about two minutes…?"

Danny glanced at the girl, noticing what Tucker wanted him to do, but he dismissed the idea right away "Forget it. You can get your own date for the dance like I did."

At that same moment, Sam and Ember walked over to them with their food. Sam had heard what they were talking about and asked to Danny with a smirk "Does he have to take off his pants and act like a dweeb? Or will either one do?" That made Danny raise his eyebrow, but made Ember giggle.

Normally Tucker never paid any attention to what his friends had ordered, as Sam's vegetarian order was the usual, but when he saw Ember's order, he looked surprised that she had ordered a veggie burger with some fries and a side salad with it. Tucker couldn't believe that Ember got sucked into Sam's believes "Veggie burger, Ember? Wait… don't tell me that you got sucked into Sam's ultra-recyclo-vegetarian thing too?!"

With her mouth full, Ember answered "What? It's good food." she then swallowed her bite before asking Sam "Oh, I almost forgot. Did you got the info I asked you for, Sam?"

Sam nodded and took out some papers out from her bag "Yeah, yeah, I got it right here."

Meanwhile, Paulina was also shopping at the mall and was inside a nearby Abyss store. While she looked over for some new fashionable clothes, she saw a pile of yellow fleecy tees for sale, who were the newest fashion this season. Her smile grew when she looked for one in her size, as she throws some away over her shoulder "I just got to have one of these! They're so unique!"

After searching for a minute, she still couldn't find one in her size and called to a nearby store sales girl for help "Miss?" The sales girl noticed Paulina and hops over to her with a happy smile. Paulina asked her, while holding a tee in her hands "Do you have this in a size small?"

The sales girl friendly answered, apologizing "Ooh, sorry. We just sold out our last small of this corduroy button-down fleecy tee to someone else."

"Will you be getting any more soon?" Paulina asked, hoping that they'll have some tees in her size soon.

"The Abyss corduroy button-down fleecy tee has been discontinued. If you haven't already got one, you are doomed to languish as a toxic social outcast for a period of no less than five and no more than sixteen weeks. Sorry." the sales girl answered with a giggle, apologizing that the new fleecy tee has been discontinued.

Hearing that Paulina had to wait for sixteen weeks for the newest fashion trend, made her so angry that her face turns red and rips the tee in her hands "SIXTEEN WEEKS?!" Paulina's anger made the amulet glow around her neck, changing her skin to blue and her eyes turn red. She then transforms into the same ghost dragon that Danny fought before. The Paulina dragon ghost looked with fury to the sales girl "WANT FLEECY TEE!" she then blows green fire at the table of tees and started to destroy the store, making all the people inside flee the store, screaming in terror.

---

Back with Danny, Ember, Tucker and Sam. They were checking the papers that Sam printed out yesterday, telling more information about Princess Dorathea. Danny held the paper with a human Dorathea wearing the amulet "Hey, look at this!" he showed the paper to the others as he read "Medieval ghostly legend held what was known as, the cursed Amulet of Aragon. It could transform any wearer into a dragon when the wearer itself is under extreme emotional duress of anger." Danny said while taking a better look at the amulet, making his mouth wide open "That's the amulet I gave to Paulina! It must have fallen into my backpack when I fought Dorathea. Wait… does that mean… I'm going on a date with a dragon?!"

Ember stood up from her chair and looked serious at Danny "Danny, if we don't get that amulet back from Paulina soon, she could cause a lot of damage when she's transformed into a dragon."

Tucker then thought out loud "I think I saw Paulina not so long ago in the mall."

Danny then stood up from his chair, looking determent "Then we better go now and find her-"

Just then, all heard a dragon's roar and lots of people screaming and running away from something, making Danny's ghost sense going off "Looks like we found her." Sam said and stood up.

Tucker then holds up Danny's and Ember's French fries, asking "Can I have your fries?"

"No!" Danny and Ember said simultaneously to Tucker.

Danny and Ember then ran into an open spot and turned into their ghost forms. Danny flies off while Ember makes her guitar appear in her hands, using her teleportation power and flew after Danny to fight the Paulina dragon ghost.

Dragon Paulina roars and breaths out green fire at them, but Danny and Ember managed to dodge it. Ember raised her guitar and hit the strings hard, releasing a powerful fist-shaped energy beam, hitting Dragon Paulina in the face, sending her flying backward hitting a wall! Dragon Paulina was now even more angry and flew to Ember, nearly hitting her with her clawed hands, but avoided it by going intangible. Danny then shot many Ghost Ray's at Paulina, hitting her in the chest, making her roar as she breathed out more green fire.

When Danny flew up to avoid the green fire, he was hit by Dragon Paulina's tail, sending him flying backwards and crashed into the kitchen of a nearby Weenie On-A-Skewer!

While Danny tried to get up, Dragon Paulina breathed out green fire at where Danny was, but was stopped when Ember came in between and fired her blue fired up hair to stop it, causing a power struggle between the fired green and blue fires, giving Danny enough time to get out and flew up "Sorry, Paulina! You got the wrong weenie!" and flew down to attack. Ember saw what Danny was doing and flew out of the way for Dragon Paulina's green fire. Both Danny and Ember then smacked into Dragon Paulina, pushing her through the air back. Ember tried to reach out to the amulet around Paulina's neck, but the dragon grabs them both in mid-flight and skids to a halt, then pins them down on the ground.

As Danny and Ember struggled to get free, Dragon Paulina yelled "MUST HAVE TEE!"

"Tea?" Danny asked "Ooh, good idea. Coffee could make you a mite jittery."

Ember agreed while both she and Danny turned intangible and sank into the ground "I agree. But better yet…"

Dragon Paulina looks perplexedly at her claws, Ember and Danny flew up "Have some punch!" both said simultaneously and punched Dragon Paulina hard in the face, sending her flying backwards through the air towards a girl carrying an Abyss shopping bag, who screams as she saw the dragon going to crash on her and runs away while screaming, leaving her bag behind. As Dragon Paulina smashes into the ground, the amulet flies off her neck and lands in the bag. She then slowly turns back into a human.

Paulina looked disoriented while rubbing her head as she had a massive headache "Ooh, whoa. What hit me?" She then notices the Abyss back in front of her. As she looks into it, she finds the amulet "Hey! My amulet!" she happily says while putting it back on, then finds a tee in her size as well, making her even more happy "Hey! My fleecy tee! They must have had one in my size after all!" when she folded the tee and walked away, feeling satisfied "I guess good things do happen when you maintain a positive attitude."

Danny and Ember flew to Tucker and Sam, while changing back into their human form as they landed "Danny! Emily! Are you guys okay?" Sam asked.

Ember nodded "We're fine. But Paulina is gone. We need to find her!"

Danny agreed to that "You're right, Em. How are you guys?" he asked Tucker and Sam.

Tucker answered first by saying "Great… if you don't count me still being dateless for the dance." he then starts tapping on his PDA which girl had declined his offer to go with him to the dance "Sasha, no. Denise, no. I've hit every girl in school. Except…" at that moment, an afro-american girl who was one of the A-listers from school walks up to him, Valerie Gray "… Valerie."

She greeted him while not being interested "Yeah, hi. Sucker, is it?"

"Tucker. Or Tuck. Or Tuckerino." he said trying to look cool.

Valerie however was clearly still not interested "Which ends with 'no'. Which, by the way, is my answer, unless something happens in the next five minutes that makes me dateless."

Just then, Kwan walks up to her and said with a smile "You'll never guess what happened! Donna said she'd go to the dance with me, so you're dateless!" he then walks away, leaving Valerie behind, dateless.

She sighs and says to Tucker "You're on."

"I'll take it!" Tucker said happily while Valerie leaves. Tucker was overjoyed that he finally got a date "Some may call it the rebound, but I call it a yes! I got a date! Whoo! And the pants are still on!"

All his friends were happy for Tucker, but Ember then said "We're happy for you, Tucker, but we still got to find Paulina and get that cursed amulet."

Danny knew that Ember was right. As long as Paulina still wears that amulet, she could still change into a ghost dragon. He took some walkie-talkies out of his backpack and gave one to each of his friends, while saying "Let's split up. If any of us finds Paulina, page me and Ember." all nodded and went in different directions, looking for Paulina.

After some minutes of searching throughout the mall and outside, Danny spots Paulina, leaving the mall while drinking a soda from a can. He takes out his walkie-talkie to contact the others "Guys! I've found her. She's leaving the mall now and heads towards the parking lot."

Then Ember spoke to him through the walkie-talkie "Okay, Danny. Try to get the amulet back from Paulina, but don't say anything that'll make her angry."

"Got it." Danny ensured Ember before breaking contact.

Danny then walked faster to get to Paulina. He was talking to himself, figuring out how to convince her give the amulet "Okay, I'll just go to her, ask for the amulet back and… no, no, that's not good enough. Wait, I'll just say 'Hey, Paulina, about the amulet. It's actually an ancient family heirloom and I need to get it back'." But that was making Danny to groan in annoyance "No, that's even worse." He sighs deep as he approached Paulina "Paulina! Wait up!" he called to her.

Paulina turns herself and waved to him with a flirty smile "Hi, Danny."

When he came to her, Danny said "Uh… Paulina, I was thinking… that amulet-"

"Isn't it fabulous? I haven't taken it off since you gave it to me." she stated as how happy she was to wear such an expensive amulet.

Danny tried to ask that he needs that amulet back "Yeah, well, about that. See, I shouldn't have given it to you in the first place… because…" Danny then spots Ember, who saw Danny talking to Paulina. Danny then just got the perfect excuse to ask for the amulet back "…It belongs to Emily!"

When Danny said that, it made Paulina growl with anger and breaks the can of soda in her hand while the amulet glow around her neck. Fearing that she would turn into a dragon again, Danny tried to ease the situation "I know, I know, it's a beautiful amulet and looks fabulous on you, but it's really important to Emily, so…. Paulina seemed to have been calmed down a bit, but was still not happy about this. But as she also spots Ember, watching them, she then said to Danny "Ha! I can clearly see why you want this amulet so desperately back for your girlfriend."

That made Danny a bit surprised "What? Embe- I mean, Emily is not-"

"You clearly have more eyes for that rock-chick of yours, than THIS," Paulina said while pointing to her sexy body "And the amulet that you gave to me, as a gift, was your only key to have ME at the dance. So tell you what, loser, you can forget about THIS for the dance!" she said while holding her hands on her hips and was about to leave "And as for your girlfriend's amulet, I'm keeping it as compensation, for wasting my time! Adios."

Danny tried to pursued her by going after her "Wait! I really need to have that amulet back, Paulina or-" as he held her arm, she turned to him, looking with fury as her eyes turned red and her amulet glow, as she growled at him. Danny stepped back "Okay… calm down, Paulina."

As she calmed down she said with a very serious look "Don't you, or your friends, even dare try to take the amulet back from me, or I'm gonna call the cops!" when she threatened to call the police, made Danny a bit nervous. For he didn't wanted to make things worse than they already are.

Seeing that Danny wasn't trying anything else, Paulina smirked while turning her back to Danny and walked away "See you at the dance, dateless loser!" she said before taking out her cellphone and called Dash, speaking in a flirty way "Hi, Dash. Yeah, I just dumped that guitar-nerd…. Sure, I'd love to go with you to the dance."

Danny felt down. Not only did he not get the amulet back, but also lost his chance to finally have a date with Paulina.

Ember had seen what happened and walked over to Danny, who looked down without even looking at her when she came to him "Danny, what happened?"

Danny sighed deep as he looked at Ember "I blew it, that's what happened. I tried to get the amulet back, but she refused… and also threatened to call the police if me or any of us tries to get it back. So, now she dumped me… for wasting her time with me."

Ember felt bad for Danny, as somehow… she could feel what he was feeling. Even though he really tried to get the amulet back from Paulina and tried to stay friendly, she still dumped him. Now Paulina still had the cursed amulet of Aragon and who knows what other danger it could bring. But right now, she wanted to be there for her friend.

Ember placed a hand on Danny's shoulder and said gently "Danny, I know you're feeling really bad because of what Paulina did to you, but she is nothing but a shallow bitch who couldn't see what you had to offer her. I know it hurts, but eventually you'll get over her and move on. All you need is time and the friends who love you to help you through this. Just like I'm doing now."

Danny smiled at her after she said those comforting words and embraced her in a friendly hug "Thanks, Ember. You're a really good friend."

"You're very welcome, big guy." she said while returning the hug.

When they broke apart, Danny honestly said "This maybe sounds a bit strange to you, but… for some reason, it didn't felt right from the beginning after I asked Paulina to the dance."

"Really? How come?" Ember asked, wandering why Danny was not feeling right about his date with Paulina.

Danny then stated "It's… something that I felt shortly after I've asked her…. I don't know how, but it was somehow telling me that this wasn't right. So in other way, I'm glad that I'm not going out with her." he finished with a small smile, but then felt a bit sorry that he didn't get the amulet back "Sorry that I didn't get the amulet back."

Ember smiled to him as she puts her hand on his shoulder again "Don't worry, Danny. We'll figure out something."

As they were about to go back to the mall, to meet up with Sam and Tucker, Danny got an idea and asked "Hey Ember?"

Ember stopped and faced him "Yes?"

"Since I don't have anyone to take to the dance… I was wandering if…. Would you like to go with me… as a friend?"

Ember started to blush, never thinking that Danny would ask her to go to the dance with, but it was a first step for him to move on, so why not? Plus, she had no one to take either, so this would solve both problems "I'd love to go with you to the dance, Danny… as a friend." Danny's smile grew when Ember said yes. Then she said before running back into the mall "Well, I better go and buy a dress for the dance. See you later, dipstick!"

As he watched her going back into the mall, he felt deep down far better then after he asked Paulina. Danny felt that he had made the right decision.

Later, while Danny and Tucker went home, Sam took Ember to one of the stores to buy her a dress for the dance. She was willing to buy a nice dress for her ghost friend, as she and Ember got close together.

While Sam was waiting for Ember, who was in the changing rooms trying out some dresses, Sam was telling how angry she was after hearing how Paulina had treated Danny "I can't believe how Paulina could be so cruel to Danny?! I know that she's deep down a bad person, but dumping Danny like that while he was still friendly and kind to her? That's low."

Ember then said, while putting on a dress "You tell me! But for some reason, Danny had his doubts about dating that shallow girl from the start. So he's somehow glad that he's not going to the dance with her." that surprised Sam when she heard that and wandered why he didn't shared his concerns about Paulina with either her or Tucker. Ember threw one dress away as this wasn't suitable for her "No, not this one. Oh, maybe this one will do!" she said as she was trying another one.

Even though Sam was happy for Ember that she was going to the dance with Danny, she honestly was glad that she was not going to the dance. Or was she? "Actually, Em, I'm glad I'm not going to the stupid dance. Saves me the embarrassment of wearing the lame dress my parents bought me." Sam then laughs nervously.

Ember peeked her head out of the dressing room, asking Sam "No one has asked you?"

Sam shrugged while rolling her eyes "Maybe I would, if I was as pretty as Paulina."

Ember felt bad for her, and could see that Sam would have loved to go, if somebody had actually asked her.

After a few more minutes, Ember finally found the perfect dress and stepped out of the changing room, showing the dress she was wearing to Sam "Okay… I think this is the one."

Sam looked, and was amazed with the dress that Ember picked. She wear a long red dress without sleeves that went till her knees, with matching red shoes and long red-black gloves that covered most of her arms "Oh my gosh… you look amazing!"

Ember blushed a bit "You think…?"

"You sure do! Now all that's left, is doing your hair." Sam said with a smile.

After paying for the dress, Sam took Ember to a hairdresser to make her hair amazing. After some time, Ember's disguised hair, was now down straight elegant. Ember smiled brightly when she saw her new hairstyle in the mirror, while Sam gave her a thumb up.

Some time later, at Fenton Works…

Maddie was helping her husband, Jack putting on a tie. Jack didn't understand why he had to put on a tie "I don't understand why I have to wear this stupid thing?"

"Because it's Danny's first dance, Jack. If we're gonna chaperone this thing, we have to make sure we don't embarrass him." Maddie explained.

"How would we embarrass him?" Jack asked.

Jazz, who leaned against the table said "I think it's great when you guys do anything that doesn't have something to do with you rick obsession with ghosts." Clearly Jazz didn't want her parents to embarrass Danny because of their obsession with ghosts. Danny, who was also in the kitchen hoped the same thing, but was more concerned that because his dad can't remember a thing about volunteering to chaperone the dance.

As Danny took a glass of water, his father said "Funny. I don't even remember volunteering to chaperone the dance. It's all a vague blur."

Jazz then turned to Danny, saying "By the way, Danny, just so you know, I'm on to your little secret."

That made Danny spit out some water, being shocked that his sister knew about his secret "What?! Wh-what secret?"

Jazz smiled at him and how she'd figured out "The clumsiness, the nervousness. I can't believe I didn't figure it out before." Danny froze in fear, feeling that Jazz knew his secret of being a half-ghost "You and Emily are dating."

Realizing that Jazz didn't knew his REAL secret, made Danny laugh a bit "Hahahaha. Jazz, Emily and I are not dating. She's just a friend, who is going to the dance with me."

Jack smiled at his son, telling "That's great! I then can talk to her more about ghosts!"

"Didn't you do that already last week?" Danny asked his father.

"Well, Emily seemed to be very interested in our work of hunting ghosts." Jack stated.

Maddie nodded in agreemant while sying "And she even asked us some serious questions!"

Jack was feeling proud that Emily (Ember) was really interested in his work. He then patted his son's shoulder and said "Me and your mother are glad that you have a friend like her around, Danny."

Jazz sighed deep, as she left to her room. Danny walked downstairs while saying "Well, I better get ready." As he did, Danny said to himself "Okay, so I'm gonna have to dance with Ember, find a way to get that amulet from Paulina and keep my dad from embarrassing me. I can handle that… I hope."

Later on, Danny met with Tucker at his place. While he waited at the front door, Danny checked himself if he had everything and that his suit was okay, while adjusting his tie "Tie straight. Shirt tucked in," he then picks the Fenton Fisher from his pocket "Unbreakable ghost fishing line tucked neatly away just in case." He draw out the pole when he clicked a button to test it, before retracts it and puts it back in his pocket.

Then Tucker came outside, wearing his suit as well "Ready for some awesome time at the school dance?" he asked Danny.

"You bet! Well, if there was no threat of a certain dragon ghost…" Danny said while being unsure.

Tucker put his arm around Danny, reassuring him that everything will be fine "Relax. Once we got the amulet and you've overshadowed your dad long enough, we'll be having longer time to enjoy the dance."

Hearing his best friend's encouraging words, brought a smile back on Danny "Maybe you're right."

"That's the spirit! Say, where is Ember anyway? Wasn't she suppose to meet us here," Tucker then checked the time on his PDA "Like right now?"

"Hi guys." Ember called to Danny and Tucker from behind. When both turned, both couldn't believe their eyes, as how beautiful Ember looked in her new red dress and amazing hairstyle, while holding a matching red purse.

Danny smiled while walking over to her and said kindly "Hey… you look… beautiful."

His kind words made Ember to blush "Hihihi… thanks. You're not so bad yourself."

As Ember took Danny's arm, Tucker said proudly "Now let's go and pick up Valerie and get this party started," but just as they were about to go, Tucker got a message on his PDA "Right after I answered this message."

While Tucker was opening his inbox, Ember told Danny her worries about Sam "You know Danny, I think Sam really wanted to come to the dance too." Danny raised an eyebrow as he looked at her.

Tucker seemed to have heard it and asked "But I thought she said she didn't want to?"

Danny felt a bit guilty that neither him or Tucker knew about that "We're her best friends, Tucker. We should have known."

Tucker shrugged while reading the whole message "Well, there's nothing we can do about it now, right?"

However, when Tucker read the message he received on his PDA, his face fell in disappointment and felt sad "What's the matter, Tuck? Bad news?" Danny asked.

Tucker nodded "Valerie just cancelled on me."

This surprised both Danny and Ember "What? But why?" Ember asked, feeling sorry for Tucker to get ditched at very the last minute.

Tucker sighed as he stated what was on the message "Valerie said she got a even better guy to take her to the dance and only wanted me as a reserve." This made Ember look with disgust, as how Valerie could treat Tucker like that and never got the chance to prove himself.

"Means you're dateless now, huh?" Danny asked, feeling sorry for Tucker.

"Yeah. How am I to enjoy the dance without a date?!" Tucker said, feeling nearly miserable.

Danny and Ember thought for a moment. Both seemed to have the same idea as they smile mischievously, while looking at Tucker while their eyes flashed green.

Tucker seemed to know what Danny and Ember had in mind and was immediately against it "No way. Forget it! Absolutely not-"

Not long after, Tucker, who was being overshadowed by Danny, knocked on Sam's front door, while Ember watched below the porch steps, in her ghost form, being invisible.

Sam opened the door, being confused to see Tucker at her doorstep "Tucker? What are you doing here? Where's Valerie?"

"She kinda cancelled on me." Danny answered for Tucker.

This surprised Sam, and felt sorry for him "Oh, Tucker… I'm sorry for you."

Then Danny asked, still overshadowing Tucker "Do you think we could go together…? You know, as friends?"

This surprised Sam even more. Tucker was asking her to go to the dance. She felt a bit unsure "Uh, I don't know… this is so last minute. And I do have plans, and-"

"Well, I understand if you don't want to go." Danny said for Tucker while beginning to leave.

But then Sam reaches out to stop him, agreeing to go to the dance with Tucker "Okay, but only because you got stood up. I'll go change into that dumb dress I wasn't gonna wear!" Sam then quickly went back inside and shuts the door to change herself.

Danny then leaves Tucker's body while in his ghost form and salutes him while saying with a smile "You're welcome."

Ember then joins Danny before they flew off "See you at the dance!"

Tucker was angry and yelled at them "That is so unfair! And as soon as Sam comes back, I'm gonna-"

Right at that moment, Sam opens the door. Tucker looked back and was astounded. He saw Sam dressed up in a beautiful purple-black gothic dress while holding a matching purse. Tucker grins while blinking a few times.

Sam was so happy to go to the dance "Come on, we're gonna be late!" she shuts the door and pulls Tucker by the arm down the porch steps.

Tucker had never seen Sam so enthusiastic before 'Hmm, maybe taking Sam to the dance wasn't such a bad idea after all.' Tucker said mentally to himself.

Not long after, Danny and Ember flew down and landed softly on the ground before changing back into their human forms. Now with Danny wearing his suit and Ember wearing her fancy red dress. Ember took Danny's arm while they walked together to the Casper High gym, where the school dance was being held.

"I think we did a big favor for Sam and for Tucker so he isn't dateless anymore." Danny said proudly, as he and Ember had helped both Tucker and Sam so they could have a good time at the dance.

Ember nodded "That's what friends are for, right?"

Danny smiled at her. Now that he was with Ember, he could feel somehow that she was really happy to be together with him… and Ember could also somehow feel that Danny was happy to be with her.

When they arrived at the school gym, that held a big banner above it's doors reading 'School Dance 2 nite', they could already hear the music playing. Just as Danny and Ember were about to join in with the rest of the students, Sam and Tucker came up to them "Danny! Emily!" Sam called.

Danny and Ember looked back and saw a happy Sam together with Tucker. Danny and Ember just pretended to looks surprised "Sam? Hey, you came after all!" Ember said happily.

Sam nodded "Yeah, Tucker asked me. Even though it was so last minute, I said yes because Valerie dumped him."

Danny nodded "Yeah, really cruel of her. Good thing you asked Sam after all, huh Tucker?"

Tucker knew that it was Danny who asked Sam, when he was overshadowing him, but smiled that he was okay with asking Sam to the dance "Yeah, indeed. Thanks for suggesting it, Danny." Tucker thanked Danny while holding his thump up. Danny gave him a thumps up back while also giving him a wink.

When they went inside, where a lot of students were dancing and cheering, Sam reminded herself about that they still had to find a way to get the amulet back from Paulina and said "But how are we gonna get the cursed amulet back from Paulina, without that she's gonna call the cops on us?"

"I may have a plan," Ember said while taking the Fenton Thermos out of her red purse "The amulet is cursed with ghost powers, right? So, if Paulina still refuses to give up the amulet, we'll use the thermos to suck the amulet in it to hide and send it back to the Ghost-Zone later."

Danny and Sam nodded as that sounded as a good idea, but Tucker had his doubts and said "But… Paulina could still call the cops on us!"

Ember rolled her eyes as she explained "Tucker, get a clue. If there's no amulet, there is no proof."

Tucker understood it now, while Danny told what to do "Okay, we'll look for Paulina, wait till she's alone and find a way to get the amulet. If she has it on, I hope." Danny then handed them walkie-talkies, before they went into the crowd.

While they tried to enjoy themselves, Lancer walked among the students, reading from his 'Hip' book "Let's get down with our bad selves." he then ridiculously pointed randomly to the students, trying to look cool "Yo, shake that thing. Hey, G, you're my dog."

After Danny had danced some with Ember, he went over to a nearby table and grabbed two glasses of punch for himself and Ember. As he handed over one to her, Ember smiled at him "Thanks." and took a sip. She sighed as she stated "I never knew that you could dance so good, dipstick."

Danny shrugged while feeling appreciated "Thanks. You're not a bad dancer yourself."

That compliment made Ember to blush again "Yeah well, despite we have to keep an eye out for that amulet, this is an awesome first dance for me."

That surprised Danny, not expecting to hear that from Ember "Wait… you were never asked to a dance before?"

This made Ember a bit uncomfortable, though it was true that she had never been invited to any dance before. "Well… I…" while she tried to tell that it was true, Ember spotted Lancer walking over to Danny's parents.

"Mr. Fenton! About our conversation the other day concerning Danny." Lancer said to Jack after walking over to him, telling about their conversation about his son, Danny. Jack looks confused, as he had no memory of that.

Danny noticed his father talking with Lancer too. Ember said with a smile to Danny "That's your call, dipstick."

He nodded "I'll be right back." Danny walked behind his father, turns invisible and overshadows him.

As Jack's eyes turned green, Danny said for Jack while nervously laughing "Yes! Danny, what a fine boy he is! Yes, as his father, I get that all the time."

Maddie finds it weird that her husband was sounding differently, like Danny's voice "Jack, you sound kind of strange."

"Oh, must be something I ate." Danny answered nervously, while overshadowing Jack.

Just then, Danny spots Paulina, wearing a long pink dress while talking with her boyfriend, Dash who wears a white suit. They were talking about something that made Dash laugh. Danny also saw that Paulina was wearing the cursed amulet. When Paulina excused herself for a moment and left, Danny knew that this was the moment to get the amulet back from her and asked Maddie "Hey! How about I get us some punch?"

Danny used Jack's body to walk through the students and headed to Sam and Tucker "Excuse me! Excuse me! Adult coming through. I shave every day."

When Danny, using Jack's body, was with Sam and Tucker he said "Tucker, Sam, it's time."

Both Sam and Tucker looked a bit shocked, as they didn't knew it was Danny overshadowing his dad, making Tucker nervously answered "What? T-t-time for what, Mr. Fenton?"

"Tucker, it's me, Danny. Paulina is now alone. Sam, you try to find her with Ember. Tucker, keep an eye on my dad. If he starts talking to anyone, page me, got it?" Danny said, still overshadowing Jack, before walking away.

Sam runs off in one direction, while Tucker runs off in another "This dance gets better and better with every passing minute." Sam said to herself before contacting Ember with the walkie-talkie "Ember? Paulina is now alone somewhere."

"Yeah, I just saw her leaving too." Ember said through the walkie-talkie.

Not long after, Ember spots Paulina again, heading to the girl's bathroom. Ember contacts Danny "Danny! I've got her. Paulina is heading to the girl's bathroom."

Danny, who was still overshadowing Jack, said through the walkie-talkie "Stay one her. I'm on my way. And Em, don't do anything that'll make her call the cops."

"Don't worry, dipstick. Leave it to me."

Both could hear Tucker trying to hold his laugh, after hearing Ember calling Danny a dipstick again "Pfffpfpff! Dipstick! Pffpff hihihihi!."

Danny narrowed his eyes when he heard Tucker. He then leaves Jack's body while still invisible and takes the walkie-talkie from Jack's hand before flying off. Jack looks confused of what just happened.

In the girl's bathroom, Paulina was checking herself in a mirror. Ember walks up behind her "Hey, Paulina. Nice dress."

Paulina turns herself to Ember and mischievously smiled "Yes, and it goes so nicely with your amulet, don't you think?"

"My amulet? That not my-" Ember said confused, but realizing that Danny could have told her that the amulet was hers, she corrected herself and looked at her very serious "Yes, that is indeed my amulet. And according to Danny, you stole it."

"Stole it?" Paulina asked before laughing "Hahahaha! For your information; your boyfriend gave it to me as a gift. Maybe you shouldn't leave your stuff wandering around, before he gives other girls your stuff around like a womanizer. And for wasting my time, I'm gonna keep it."

"My boyfriend? Womanizer?!" Ember asked confused, but then frowned accusing Danny that he was a womanizer "Ha ha! Let met get this clear to you: Danny is not my boyfriend."

"He's not?"

"No. He's my best friend, and he's the most honest and kind person I've ever met! Calling him a womanizer? Ha! I would have expected something better from the biggest slut of Casper High." Ember fired back.

Paulina was not gonna take that insult from Ember "Me?! A slut?! How dare you!"

But Ember wasn't finished with Paulina just yet "And threatening to call the cops on Danny and on us for taking back an amulet you stole? That's even way lower, Paulina. And before you gonna call the authorities on us, my folks and I have proof that that amulet is within our family for generations. So who are the cops gonna believe, huh? And I wander what your own parents are gonna think about all of this, that their own daughter is a thief?" Ember hoped that her insults and threats won't anger up Paulina, making her change into a dragon again.

But seeing that Paulina was a bit scared of what her parents, especially her father would think about all of this, she took the amulet off her neck "Pff! Whatever, rock geek. I only agreed to go out with him because I thought I was stealing him from you." she then puts the amulet around Ember's neck "Here, take your crummy amulet. I hope you'll have a great time with that nerd who can't even sing or play guitar. Hahahaha!" Paulina laughs before leaving.

That Paulina said that Danny can't even play guitar or sing at all, made Ember angry. The amulet glow around her neck, while the Fenton Ghost-Disguise sparked of nearly unable to keep Ember's human disguise on. While trying to keep her anger under control, Ember marched up to Paulina and stopped her in her tracks before leaving the bathroom "How can you say that about him?! Danny Fenton is the coolest and most talented guys I have met in ages! And you tell me he can't even sing or play guitar at all?! He took the courage to sing a song for you, in front of the whole school-"

But made Paulina laugh even more "Hahahahaha! C'mon, rock geek, do you really think that some stupid love song of his would've even impressed me at all? Honestly, I was glad that Dash bumped in and broke his guitar in half, saved me a lot of time of listening to that pathetic singing voice of his. Maybe your friend should consider quieting making music. I mean, who else would listen to his dumb songs? You? Hahahaha! Danny Fenton cannot even stand up to himself before pissing his pants! And you call him the coolest guy you ever met? Hahahahahaha!" Paulina then pushed Ember out of the way and was about to leave the restroom "Now if you'll excuse me, Californian loser. My boyfriend is waiting for me."

Ember gre furious. The amulet glow even more, responding to Ember's rising anger, turning her eyes red and her skin scaly and blue. The Fenton Ghost-Disguise couldn't handle it anymore and malfunctioned, making Ember changing back into her ghost form. Her blue hair flared up as she yelled "YOU HEARTLESS BITCH!" Ember turned into an even stronger dragon, with flaring green manes and glowing red eyes, roaring with nothing but fury.

Paulina turns herself, looking shocked to see a large dragon with flaming hair behind her, making her faint.

Danny and Sam had just reached the girl's bathroom when he heard the dragon's roar "Paulina? Emily?" Both ran quickly into the girl's bathroom, seeing the ghost dragon flying out of the destroyed ceiling, carrying an unconscious Paulina. Danny went ghost and flew after it, thinking it was Paulina that had transformed into a dragon again and was now holding Ember hostage.

While Danny went after the dragon, Sam saw on the floor Ember's Human Disguiser and picked it up "The Fenton Ghost-Disguise? But what's it…?" she looked up to the dragon, seeing it's flaming hair. Sam gasped as she knew what had happened. It was Ember that had changed into a ghost dragon! "Ember!"

Danny flew fast after Dragon Ember. When he flew above her, he kicks her in the back, making her fall and crash onto the school's football field.

Danny lands in front of the dragon, wanting to make sure that Ember won't get hurt "Now, Paulina! Don't even think about hurting Ember!" But then Danny notices Paulina in the Dragon's grasp "Wait… Paulina?" then he looks at the Dragon who roared while it's green manes flared up. Danny was shocked when he knew it was Ember that now wear the cursed amulet of Aragon, and had now changed into a dragon "EMBER?!"

"HEARTLESS BITCH!" Dragon Ember yelled out, before she breaths a large blue fire at Danny, but manages to turn intangible in time to avoid it. Danny then reappears.

He then flew up into the air and pulls Paulina from Dragon Ember's hand, making her roaring even more angry and flew after him. Danny had no time to react as Dragon Ember then hits them hard with her tail, sending Danny and an unconscious Paulina towards the bleachers.

Danny quickly turns himself and Paulina intangible and phased through the bleachers, where Dash was flirting with another girl "So, do you like quarterbacks?" Dash asked. The girl giggled, but then Danny and Paulina phased through the bleachers and hit the fence, turning tangible again. Both Dash and the girl stared at them with surprise. Danny just frowned at Dash. But then Dragon Ember lifts up a section of bleachers before throwing it away and roars, causing Dash and the girl to scream and run away.

Sam ran to the football field, seeing Dragon Ember breath out blue fire in nearly every direction, while Danny tried to avoid them, protecting a still unconscious Paulina. Sam had to calm Ember down somehow and ran into the field.

Danny also tried to calm Ember down "Ember, please calm down! Be reasonable!" but his words fell into death ears, as Ember's anger was too strong to control.

Just then, Danny's walkie-talkie beeps. He pick it up while avoiding another blue fire from Dragon Ember. It was Tucker that contacted Danny "Danny, Lancer's getting close to your dad."

Danny had no choice if he had to buy some more time "I hate to do this, Ember." Danny puts Paulina out of the field, and then flies behind Dragon Ember to pick up her tail. He strains when he pulls her into the air, and swing her around and around, sending her flying into the distance!

Danny then quickly flew back to the school dance.

Inside the school dance, Jack suddenly sees Lancer talking with his wife, Maddie. He became angry and marched onto Lancer "Hey! Who the heck are you? And why are you talking to my wife?"

Both Lancer and Maddie looked surprised. Maddie said in a hushed tone "Jack, this is Mr. Lancer. From the parent-teacher conference."

At that exact moment, Danny phases up through the floor behind his father and overshadows him.

Danny then said, overshadowing his dad, while nervously laughing "Right, right. I'm sorry, it's just in this light I thought you were… George Clooney. Isn't he sharp, Mom? I mean, Maddie?"

Lancer chuckled of Jack's (Danny's) compliment "Well… thank you."

Danny then thought of something quickly, to make sure that his dad stays away from Lancer as he needed to calm down Dragon Ember "Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to dance with my wife. Cause… that's what we adults do, dance with our wives." he then pulls Maddie to the dance floor and they begin to dance.

While Danny, still overshadowing Jack, was doing some cool dance moves, Maddie sighs deep as this was bringing a lot of good memories when Jack and her were still young "Doesn't this bring back memories?"

Nervously, Danny answered "If by memories you mean things… when we were younger, then yes! Go ahead and remind me of stuff. I'll totally agree to remembering." he said while nervously laughing.

When the song ended, all the students cheered for Jack and Maddie. Danny invisibly leaves Jack's body and flew off, going after Dragon Ember. Jack looked puzzled first, as he didn't remember why he was on the dance floor, but seeing all the students cheering for him and Maddie, he thanked them "Thank you! Thank you all on behalf of me, Jack Fenton."

Danny flew as quickly as he could back to the football field, where Dragon Ember was looking for Paulina.

But then, Sam appeared behind Dragon Ember, calling to her "Ember!" The dragon looked behind her, seeing Sam. She growled as Dragon Ember walked over to her, while her green manes flared up. Sam walked backwards, trying to calm her ghost friend "Ember, please calm down. It's me… Sam." but because Dragon Ember was blinded by her rage, she kept approaching Sam.

Danny saw it and tried to warn Sam to run away "SAM! LOOK OUT!"

Sam was now with her back at a wall, while Dragon Ember raised her clawed paw, ready to strike. Sam became scared. She had to think fast 'C'mon, Sam! Think think think! I got to remember Ember who she is…. Wait… remember… that's it!' Sam thought what could help to calm down Ember. The song she was singing while under the shower.

Sam sighed deep before she started singing softly Ember's song.

Dragon Ember blinked a few times, and slowly lowered her paw "Sam…?"

Sam nodded and kept singing.

Danny pulls out the Fenton Fisher, ready to use it to on Dragon Ember. But as he hears Sam singing, making Ember to calm down, he waited 'Is that song… about Ember? It's really great.' Danny thought as the song was beautiful.

Ember, one thing remains

Oh, Ember, so warm and tender

You will remember my name…

Dragon Ember's flared green manes calmed down and her eyes became normal "Sam…?" Sam came closer to Dragon Ember, holding her hand on Ember's head while she smiled.

Dragon Ember smiled too, but then spotted Paulina who just awoke "Uuhhh… what happened?" Paulina asked herself while rubbing her head.

Dragon Ember then roared as her eyes flashed red and her green manes flared up "HEARTLESS BITCH!"

Paulina saw the dragon, and fainted again.

Danny had to use the Fenton Fisher now! He cast the line at Ember, which wrapped around her neck. Dragon Ember growls at Danny and breathed out blue fire at him, while he flew around and around her, wrapping the line around her until her wings and arms were secure, making her drop to the ground "If the Fenton Fisher can capture ghosts, then it can capture dragon ghosts as well. Way to go, Dad!" Danny said, knowing now that the Fenton Fisher was not such a bad invention of his father after all.

While Dragon Ember struggled to get free, Sam ran to her and removes the amulet from Ember's neck, making Ember change back to her normal self.

Ember lied on the ground, now in her ghost form. Sam quickly took the Fenton Ghost-Disguise and puts it on Ember's waist, clicking on the logo, changing Ember into her human form. Danny quickly landed and transformed quickly back to his human form too. He and Sam kneeled down next to Ember as she woke up "Ember? Are you alright?" Danny asked.

Ember rubbed her head while looking at Danny and Sam. Upon realizing what she had done, tears started to form in Ember's eyes "Danny… Sam…" she started to sob and embraced her friends "I'm so sorry… I didn't meant to do it! It was Paulina who-"

"Shhh. It's okay, Em." Sam said while she and Danny returned the hug, stroking her back.

After a few minutes, Danny broke the hug and looked into Ember's eyes "It was the amulet that made you to do this. Paulina just pushed you over the edge."

Ember nodded while whipping away her tears "I know…" Then she looked at Sam and gave her a smile "How did you… how did you knew that song of mine?"

Sam chuckled while they got back up "I hear you from time to time singing under the shower. I didn't knew what else could calm you down."

Ember smiled at her "Well, it did work. Thank you, Sam."

"That's what friends are for." Ember then gave another hug to both Danny and Sam. Not long after, Sam suggested "You know, the dance is still not over yet. Let's go back inside and have some fun."

Both Danny and Ember nodded "Yeah, let's go." Danny said while taking Ember's arm and went back inside.

As soon they came in, Tucker walked over to them "Guys! What happened back there?!"

"Long story, Tucker," Sam said while holding the amulet "But we got the amulet back." Tucker sighed in relief while Sam puts the amulet in her purse.

Just then, Jack and Maddie walked over to them "Danny! I hope you have a good time with Emily?" Jack asked his son.

Danny looked at Ember for a moment, who smiled and held his hand "Yeah, we sure have." Ember told Jack and Maddie.

Maddie thought they looked cute together "Aaaw, that's so sweet. Remember how we were like that, Jack?"

Jack agreed to that, making both Danny and Ember blush "Mom! We're just friends." Danny corrected his mother.

Both parents shrugged before Jack said "Well, me and Maddie are going home."

"Don't you need to stay and chaperone the dance?" Danny asked.

Jack shook his head "Nah, I just reminded ourselves that one of our inventions to be checked, or it could possibly cause a meltdown."

Maddie nodded and went to the door "Indeed. Let's go Jack."

But before leaving, Jack whispered to his son, admitting what the REAL reason was they were leaving "Just between you and me, Danny. About that invention that could cause a meltdown? I made that up, because I think that teacher of yours has an eye for your mother."

Thinking that his dad thought that Lancer was trying to steal his wife, made Danny chuckle "Well, then you better keep mom as far away from him as you can."

Jack nodded, but then was called by Maddie to go "Jack! Let's go!".

"I'm coming! Have fun, kids. Be sure to be home before 10!" Jack called while running to the door. But then came back and whispered to Danny and Ember "On second thought. Make that 11, to give you two lovebirds some more private time." Jack then ran to the door.

Both Danny and Ember were annoyed that everybody still thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend "We're not lovebirds!" Danny and Ember called simultaneously to Jack. But then they blushed while looking away, smiling a bit.

As the dance went on, Danny, Ember, Tucker and Sam had lots of fun.

At one moment, Ember saw Paulina bullying on a geek girl, making her cry. As she and her friends laughed about it, Ember frowned in anger at them. But then she spotted a giant bowl of punch behind Paulina. Ember smirked as she used her powers to throw the entire punch over her, making her shock as she was completely soaked in punch, ruining her dress. All the other students, including Sam and Tucker laughed at her. Humiliated, Paulina ran out of the gym, with her friends following behind her.

Danny had noticed what Ember did, but he didn't mind, as he thought as well that Paulina got what she deserved after she had treated him and Ember so cruelly.

Not long after, the DJ started to play a slow romantic song. Danny looked at Ember and reached out his hand to her "You wanna dance?"

Ember smiled at him "I'd love too."

While they danced slowly on the music, both looked at each other with a smile. And for some reason, this moment made Ember blush. But then asked him to distract her thoughts "Promise me you'll keep your pants up?"

"I'll do my best." he answered.

Tucker and Sam were dancing close to them, both looking at Danny and Ember. Tucker then said "You know, if they were a real couple, they would fit well together."

"Oh shut it, Tucker." Sam said while pushing his shoulder. That made Tucker raise an eyebrow at Sam, but decided to leave it for now. Sam then just said "I just hope that nothing is gonna disturb the dance now."

Just then, the ghost Dorathea suddenly appeared next to Sam and Tucker "I want to go to the ball!"

Sam reacted quickly and aimed the Fenton Thermos at the princess ghost "Nope." a stream of energy came out of the thermos, capturing Dorathea in the Thermos.

Luckily, nobody had seen the ghost or Sam capturing it.

Sam sighed in relief and continued dancing with Tucker "Ah. That's better."

Yes! The second chapter of 'The Flame and the Phantom' is finished!

Wow… just wow, you guys. I had never expected that this story of mine would be getting so popular in such a short time! Thank you, thank you all for your massive support in this. And I also want to thank you for your positive reviews on the first chapter. To answer the review of 'kingofdanerds', I did reconsider what you said that Ember addition should change a lot of things. Now don't worry, as the story will progress, some things are gonna be change, I can ensure you ;)

Now, you all don't need to wait that long for the next chapter, for I'm gonna work immediately on chapter 3 for this story, where Danny not only has to get his grade up by observing a purple-back gorilla, while also being chased by the greatest hunter of the Ghost-Zone, Skulker, who also has a personal vendetta on Ember…
