Upon contact with one another, the flames stopped at the spear's tip, Daniel sighed in relief. "What were you doing with my Daughter, Magician!?" A tall blonde woman wearing a Shine Maiden's Miko outfit exclaimed out to Daniel.
Daniel couldn't help but notice the woman's extremely large chest which was left slightly exposed. 'Those things cannot be natural! They're bigger than my head!' Daniel thought to himself with wide eyes. Barely able to take his eyes away from the woman's chest, Daniel finally noticed the nine blonde tails and two ears within the gold crown on the top of her head.
"Mother!" Kunou stated out as she and Sera rushed to the woman's side.
"Please don't attack Dan!" Sera exclaimed out as she tried to protect Daniel.
"Dan?" The woman asked out loud in confusion before her eyes went wide in shock. "As in your boyfriend Dan? Right?"
Sera silently nodded as the woman turned to face Daniel. "Hello." Daniel weakly smiled and waved at the woman. "It's nice to meet you."
The Born Again Fate of DxD - Chapter 14: Dealing with the Youkai.
(Thursday 24th May - Late Afternoon)
After everything had been explained further, Yasaka blushed from embarrassment as they sat in the Shine's office, which was Yasaka's personal office. "Once more I'd like to apologise for my earlier actions." Yasaka, the Leader of the Youkai Faction humbly stated out as he lightly bowed to Daniel.
"As I said earlier it's fine, I get it." Daniel attempted to calm down Yasaka but his words seemed to be having little effect. "I probably would've done the same if I was in your shoes."
Yasaka softly smile along with Sera and Kunou as she softly sighed. "If you insist. Thank you both for looking after and bringing back my Daughter."
"No problem at all. Sera and Kunou enjoyed watching a few shows with each other last night." Daniel replied with a smile as Yasaka relaxed further.
"Thank you once more." Yasaka stated before she turned to face her daughter.
"Now can you tell me why you were so far away from Kyoto young lady?" The tone that Yasaka used was the same one all mothers used when scolding their child.
"I'm sorry. It's just I remember the stories Sera-nee told me of Dan... So I thought he could help with finding the missing children." Kunou softly replied as she looked down in embarrassment added with a small amount of shame.
"And did you formally present yourself to them first?" Yasaka asked with a raised.
"No I was captured and brought to his home." Kunou's statement caused Daniel to begin heavily sweating. "By a priest."
"I see." Yasaka's soft tone caused both Sera and Daniel to look at one another. "Thank you for offering to assist with our current issue Daniel Cole."
"Well there was also another reason for helping out." Daniel stated as he rubbed the back of his head. "My brother informed me that the a few children have also been kidnapped from an Orphanage run by the Church here in Kyoto. And I offered to help him out since I believe the two might be connected."
"Is this brother of yours also the same priest who took Kunou to your home?" Yasaka asked with a raised eyebrow. "If so, I do not think It was very wise of you to bring up this other reason."
"I'm sorry for my idiot brother's actions." Daniel stated as bowed as low as he possibly could. "But I brought this up because I didn't wish to lie to you."
"He also feels like he should make up for his brother's blunder." Sera added as she bowed down as well.
'Blunder? More like major fuck up.' Daniel thought to himself but remained silent.
"I too am sorry as I was nearby and didn't notice Kunou's presence." Sera's stated caused Yasaka to smile in response.
"It's fine. It's over with for now." Yasaka sigh in her reply as she stood up. "If you'll follow me, I'll show you what we have discovered so far."
Daniel and Sera both nodded while Yasaka and Kunou lead them. Leading them into a records room, Yasksa laid down a map and four files. "We've had four reported children missing so far and we've mapped where they have been taken on this map of the City.
Daniel looked at the files and read into each one. The first was of a boy who was 5 years old. He was an Onikuma or a Bear Youkai. The Second was a 7 year old girl who was an Ougama, also known as an Toad Youkai. The last two were neighbour both boys aged 4, an Amemasu or Fish Youkai, and a Kappa or a Turtle Youkai.
Daniel at first glance noticed a pattern with these missing children. "There's gonna be a fifth child taken soon. And it's going to be a Bird Youkai, but I don't know which one."
"You've seen it too then." Yasaka stated before she began drawing on the map of Kyoto.
"How can you tell?" Sera asked.
Daniel had a serious look on his face as he kept looking at each photo of the missing children. "The children that have been taken are all Vertebrate Youkai. The first was a Mammal, the second an Amphibian, the third is ray-finned fish according to the type of Fish Youkai he is, and the fourth is a Turtle Youkai which is a Reptile. The only one missing is a Bird."
"Then why would they also be kidnapping normal human children?" Sera asked in confusion.
"No idea... Hopefully Killi found something out that might be able to help us." Daniel replied as Yasaka showed the group her altered map.
"I've circled the areas of Kyoto where their are families of Bird like Youkai with children under the age of 10 years old." Yasaka stated before she continue'd. "We noticed the same trend after the last kidnappings but it still just as difficult for us to try and prevent it from happening again."
"I've also personally placed guards within these areas. They are Dog Youkais with the best sense of smell their kind have." There was a determined look on Yasaka's face.
"What's the most common type among the Bird Youkai?" Sera asked.
"That would be the Tengu or Crow Youkai." Yasaka answered.
"Where on this map is the Orphanage run by the Catholic Church?" Daniel asked in turn to which Kunou pointed out it's location.
"It's not technically within the Kyoto City limits. But it's here in Muko City." Kunou stated as Daniel pulled out his phone.
"I'll be back in a few minutes. I'm going to check if Killi and Scáthach found anything." Daniel stated out just before he had left.
When he had left, a pale Yasaka turned and faced Sera. "When he said Scáthach, did he mean the first God-killer? That Scáthach? Or am I jumping to conclusions here?"
Sera sheepishly nodded her head in confirmation. "The Celtic Faction have began watching him again. And they sent Scáthach to do it."
"And she's here watching him now?" Yasaka asked in horror.
"She's not here. He sent her with his brother as he didn't think bringing her here would be a good plan." Kunou innocently answered but it wasn't much of a help to Yasaka though.
"Lady Amaterasu is going to kill him." Yasaka softly stated out before she began rubbing her forehead. "He's an idiot though."
"I agree with you." Sera sighed out in annoyance. "He becomes laser focused once he puts his mind to something. He doesn't think straight when he does it."
Sera then began to huff in annoyance as it started getting to her. "I mean, one time I brought back a copy of my show that I was never going to air for him to see. I pretended to get his opinion on what he thought about it."
"I've done this before countless times so it wouldn't have been much of a surprise for him. However in quite a few of the shots we took I was wearing a lot of risky clothes. My thinking was it would get him excited and we'd have a night or two of fun. But he took me too seriously and even started critiquing it!" Sera huffed out as she crossed her arms in annoyance.
Yasaka and Kunou both chuckled at Sera's story. "So he's a bit dense then."
"No, he knew what I wanted to do but decided it would be funnier getting a different reaction out of me instead... He told me the next day when he made up for his criticism." Sera mumbled out as Yasaka laughed loudly, while Kunou was confused as she didn't know who Grayfia was. "He's got a weird sense of humour... I blame Grayfia's genes for that."
(Daniel)
Walking outside, Daniel was surprised to find that his mobile was able to pick up a signal while in the Youkai's Hidden world of Kyoto. Not questioning it thought he called Killian.
"Hey Danny!" Killian answered with a good bit of excitement.
"You sound like you're having a blast." Daniel replied with a smirk as he heard Killian's tone of voice.
"Yeah, before we came over to the Orphanage, Scáthach thought that it would be a good idea to get some sweets for the kids. The little tykes have been excited since." Killian stated as Daniel could hear the kid's laughter in the background.
"So you decided to give the kids a sugar rush then." Daniel drily pointed out before he shook his head. "Anyway that's besides the point. What have you found out on your end of things?"
"Give me the phone." Daniel heard Scáthach's voice through the phone as it appeared she was fighting Killian for his mobile.
"I'm trying to talk to Danny here Scáthach! Go look after the kids!" Killian countered.
"I've dealt with Kids before but none were this terrifying." Scáthach argued back as it sounded like she took control over the phone. "Hello my lover boy. Miss me?"
"..." Daniel remained silent on the phone before he sighed out loudly. "What have you guys found."
"6 kiddos taken in a single night two weeks ago. 3 boys and 3 girls aged between 4 and 8. None taken since." Scáthach's answer was what Daniel wanted to hear. Short, sweat and to the point.
"Find anything on security footage?" Daniel asked.
"Not a single thing. Was the first thing your brother checked." Scáthach replied.
"Dammit... I take no signs of a struggle or anything?" Daniel asked with a little amount of hope in his voice.
"Another no on that one too." Scáthach answered before she added. "Also your brother's Sacred Gear stated that she can't track them as their scents are no longer fresh. Would be the same for any tracking runes I have as well."
"Right then... Stay there for the time being. I'll pass this info on to Sera and Yasaka." Daniel stated out which judging by Scáthach reaction she didn't want to hear.
"What do you mean? You can't leave me here with these monsters." Scáthach stated out in a panicked tone.
"It's only kids Scáthach. What's got you soo worried?" Daniel asked with a raised eyebrow.
"These aren't kids! They're Monsters!" Scáthach shouted down the phone so loudly Daniel had to bring it away from his phone.
Deciding to get a little bit of revenge on Scáthach, Daniel hung up. Only for the phone to ring again after taking a few steps. With a smile on his face he answered the phone. "Did you just fucking hang up on me!?"
"Yeah sorry about that... I lost signal." Daniel replied before once more hanging up and turning his phone off.
"Little lover boy that." Daniel smirked as he put his phone back in his pocket and walked back towards Sera and Yasaka.
When he re-entered the room though, he couldn't have picked a worse time to do so. "Then he shouted out I'mma fucking Archer." Sera stated out before both Yasaka and Kunou began laughing lightly.
"This was against Riser wasn't it?" Daniel asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yep." Sera answered with a pop. "Kunou wanted to know why Azazel called you the Silver King of Archers."
Daniel's new nickname caused him to groan as he held his head which in turn caused Sera to pout. "It's not that bad."
"It's not that the nickname's bad. It because he coined that term. That and I get the feeling he's been spreading it around the entire supernatural world by now." Daniel replied with a sigh. "Anyway I got some news from Killi."
"What did he find?" Sera asked with a raised eyebrow.
"6 Kids were taken two weeks ago in a single night with none taken since." Daniel informed the trio.
"Could the same amount of Youkai also be taken?" Yasaka asked with a worried look on her face.
"I don't know. But there isn't a sixth Vertebrate Animal so I doubt that it would be the case." Daniel replied with a light shurg. "However Killi has also run into a dead end. Any items belonging to the Children haven't got a strong enough scent for Lina to pick up on them and track them."
"Could there be anything we could use to track the Youkai kids taken?" Daniel asked with a small amount of hope in his voice. But it was dashed as Yasaka shook her head.
"It possible that they would be too contaminated by now." Yasaka answered to which Daniel remained silent.
"I doubt there will be much we can get done today then." Sera stated out. "None of the families have received any ransom demands which means they targeted each child, and are most likely keeping them alive for something. We just don't know for what just yet."
"In the mean time though, give me your phone." Sera stated to Daniel which caused him to raise an eyebrow at his girlfriend.
"Okay but why?" Daniel asked.
"I need to give your brother directions to the Hotel you'll be staying in. I can only stay for the one night though." Sera informed Daniel who nodded in understanding and handed over his phone.
"What the name of this Hotel anyway?" Daniel asked with a thoughtful look on his face.
"It's the Kyoto Sirzechs Hotel." Sera's answer immediately caused Daniel to stumble slightly.
'If this is a Rias themed Hotel I'll be going to the underworld and whacking the back of his head.' Daniel thought to himself as he sighed loudly.
"What was that for?" Kunou asked in confusion.
"Just... Just preparing myself." Daniel answered as he continue'd sighing.
"You're more than welcome to stay here for the night, if you'd like." Yasaka offered as Kunou nodded in agreement.
"Thank you for the offer but it would also mean hosting Scáthach for the night as well. And I may have left her in a bit of a bad mood." Daniel nervously chuckled which only caused Sera and Yasaka to glare at him.
"How much of a bad mood?" Yasaka asked as she attempted to hold back her own anger.
"I'll tell you if I'm alive tomorrow kind of bad mood." Daniel chuckled lightly in his reply causing both Yasaka and Kunou to groan out.
"You are an idiot then." Kunou softly mumbled but loud enough for Daniel to hear.
"Sprechen Sie sechs Sprachen, ohne zu schummeln, und sagen Sie das dann. (Speak six languages without cheating, then say that.)" Daniel softly muttered under his breath which only caused Sera and Yasaka who had both heard him to chuckle. Kunou on the other hand tilted her head to the side in confusion.
"I'll be fine either way. She's meant to watch me not kill me. I'd pretty sure she will be upset if I died and she didn't have any part in it." Daniel stated out to Yasaka.
"I still don't like this." Yasaka replied back to Daniel who shrugged.
"I'll be able to deal with her if she tries anything." Daniel replied as he summoned Gáe Bolg to his hands. "Cause I know everything she's already capable of. So I'll be able to hold her back."
"Can you defeat her if needed?" Yasaka asked with some concern.
"I honestly don't really have a solid answer for that one." Daniel answered with a slight shake of his head. "She has access to magic that I can't perform. I would at best only counter what she can throw at me. But she can't defeat me as I have an ace in the hole that she won't be able to deal with if needed."
"Don't even think of using that as well. It'll cause more issues that you're aware of." Sera stated out to Daniel, who raised his hands in surrender.
Yasaka and Kunou both looked at one another in confusion but decided to ignore it for now.
(Friday 25th May - Midday)
The meeting between Yasaka and Scáthach went a lot better than what anyone would've expected as after 15 minutes of talking the two seemed to be acting like the best of friends.
However for Daniel, Scáthach was glaring at him whenever she got the chance to. Playing along with it, Daniel often waved over at her when she was 'caught' glaring. Killian made sure to keep a wide berth from both Scáthach and Daniel... Just in case.
Sera on the other hand was stuck between glaring at Scáthach or laughing at Daniel's reaction to the Queen of the Land of Shadows own glares.
When Daniel and Sera had been woken up they were informed that another kidnapping had taken place overnight. The 9 year old girl taken was a Yosuzume also known as a Sparrow Youkai.
With another kidnapping taken place in Kyoto, Sera knew that Daniel might be in Kyoto longer than what he might've been at first. However she couldn't put off her duty as a Satan for long. Otherwise Sirzechs would most likely send Grayfia after her.
As Yasaka and Kunou lead Daniel, Killian and Scáthach to the home of the little girl who was kidnapped last night, Yasaka informed them that her guards had already performed a search of the are but was able to find anything.
"This was her room." The girl's mother informed them. There did seem to be anything out of place. It was as if no one had even came into the room.
"What time did you all go to bed at last night?" Killian asked.
"Yuki went to her bed at 9 while I went up about an hour and a half later." The mother replied as she placed her hand on her daughter's bed. "I didn't hear anything when I did. Nothing."
The mother began to cry as Scáthach and Yasaka both offered their support. Meanwhile Daniel knelled down and placed a hand on the floor. "Structural Analysis." Daniel softly spoke out as he flared his man throughout the room.
'Only one thing out of place in this room.' Daniel thought to himself as he looked at the window. 'And it's coming from that wall.'
Killian noticed Daniel looking at the window. "You think they came in from there? This is a second story bedroom."
"I don't think they came in through the window. But the wall itself." Daniel replied as he moved closer to the wall to check on it.
However he wasn't able to notice anything upon a closer check. "I'll be outside." Daniel stated to the group before he looked over at the mother. "If I was to guess, I'd heavily wager that your daughter was still alive."
"How can you be sure?" The mother asked through her tears.
Daniel wanted to say the truth, but saying that could and most likely would only make things worse for her. He looked over at Killian who shook his head at him. "Call it a gut instinct from my knowledge of Magic." Daniel stated as he walked over to Killian.
"Make sure you get something to track her scent with Lina." Daniel whispered into Killian's ear who nodded in agreement. Daniel waited outside of the room for a few seconds as Killian exited with a pillow cover that he was placing into a zip bag.
Once outside, Daniel and Killian both moved to the side of the house where the Girl's bedroom was. "That's good bit up." Killian stated as he looked at the window while Daniel checked the nearby area.
In a nearby bush he was able to find something and brought it to Killian's attention. "That aint good." Killian stated as he picked up a black feather.
"It's either from a Youkai or a Fallen Angel. You think Yasaka would be able to tell?" Daniel asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Be able to tell what?" Yasaka asked from behind the two brothers.
As they turned around, they seen that both Yasaka, Kunou and Scáthach were alongside Yasaka's guards. Bringing the black feather up to Yasaka, she took it and examined it.
"This is not from a Youkai. It's too short." Yasaka's statement was short and to the point. They now knew that a Fallen was involved with this kidnapping.
"We'll have to contact Azazel over this. This could be another Rouge Fallen loose again." Daniel stated out with a sigh as Killian nodded in agreement.
"I don't think now would be the best time for that. We don't know if he's involved or not." Scáthach stated to Daniel which Yasaka agreed with.
"I doubt that. You seen the surprise he had when both Killian and Kunou told me what was happing in my home." Daniel countered to which Scáthach didn't seem to bat an eye to.
"I know. But I'm just saying it could also still be a ploy." Scáthach argued back.
"While I agree with what Scáthach is saying. I have to agree with Daniel as well. The only interest in Youkai that Azazel has is with me, and definitely not children." Yasaka stated out her own opinion.
'With the size of those things on you chest I'm not surprised. Definitely need to keep you away from the kid or else he'll die from a nose bleed.' Daniel thought to himself as he nodded from hearing Yasaka's words.
"Were you able to find anything before we arrived?" Daniel asked one of the guards that was nearby.
"Not a thing." The guard replied.
With that answer Daniel done the same thing he had done inside the Girl's bedroom just moments before. "Structural Analysis." After a brief moment Daniel's eyes went wide in shock. 'Two points of interest nearby.' Daniel thought to himself as he looked towards the arena where Killian noticed the black feather. 'So they came from below. That's how no one was able to noticed them coming and going in the arena.'
"That's not good." Daniel stated out as he turned his attention towards the house's wall and to the gravel stones beside the wall. Rubbing his hands through the gravel he found what he was looking for. Daniel had a hard look at a piece of distorted gravel that he had picked up in his hand. "A Human was involved in helping the Fallen Angel who did this."
"Are you sure? We didn't feel any human presence here. Even the best of Magicians can't find there smell from a Dog Youkai." The guard stated in confusion.
"Could it be possible that?" Daniel asked himself out loud before he began to mumble to himself. But before anyone could even asked what he meant he thought out loud once more.
"No... It shouldn't be possible. Even from what I've read on the subject, the best Alchemists of history can't prevent one of them from smelling like a human." Daniel softly mumbled out to himself as he held onto his chin.
'Though these marks though mean that it could be possible. I mean they're Transmutation marks that I've seen in Full Metal Alchemist for Christ's sake! So does that beg the question if Alchemy works the same way in this world as it did in FMA?' Daniel thought to himself as he played with the piece of the marks he had in his hands. "Alchemy was definitely involved here though, which means I'm fully certain that a human was involved here."
'Could it be another person from my old world or someone from this world? Who ever it is though I'm sure is an Alchemist.' Daniel once more asked himself internally.
"Have you encountered an Alchemist before Bro?" Killian asked as he knelt down beside Daniel.
"I can't perform Alchemy but I have studied it from reading a few books on the subject. These marks here though I'm certain are Transmutation marks. So that means whoever kidnapped the girl came into the house through here." Daniel stated as he rubbed his hands over the wall. He could feel a trace amount of something he was not familiar with coming from the wall.
"If I was to try and recreate what had happened, They came from an underground tunnel, created a ladder using the gravel, made a hole in the wall, took the Girl and then left covering their tracks as best they could."
"Now I'm only guessing here, but by looking at the marks left of on the ground it's all I've got." Daniel stated as he showed the everyone the same marks on the piece of gravel in his hand. "It might explain how they got in and out of this area without anyone noticing the Girl. But it doesn't explain how they weren't noticed by smell."
Everyone was silent from Daniel's explanation as they tried to think of anyway this could be possible.
"Scáthach, do you know any Runes or Enchantments that could hide someone's smell?" Killian asked Scáthach as she broke the silence. Scáthach thought about if she did know anything as Daniel watched with a raised eyebrow.
"I can't think of anything. Not even a blessing from Gods that would be effective enough on it's own." Scáthach answered as she shook her head.
"What if they were stacked?" Daniel asked with a serious look on his face. "Like Multiple enchantments boosting one another? Would that work?" Scáthach was silent for a moment, deeply thinking about what Daniel was suggesting.
"A Human body wouldn't be able to withstand that amount of Magical force running through there body. They would be crushed if there body could with stand it, and if they could I doubt they'd be able to move much due to the pain. The Fallen would've been able to withstand it though." Scáthach answered Daniel's question to which he sighed out in annoyance.
While everyone thought they had run into another dead end, Yasaka knew the tone of Daniel's sigh wasn't like that.
It was one which confirmed a thought that Daniel didn't want to have confirmed. "You know what it was don't you?" Yasaka asked.
"Yeah." Daniel sighed out as he rubbed his head. "We're dealing with a Homunculus. An Artificial Human created through Alchemy."

Just a quick update for all you guys since you might've noticed I didn't post a chapter last week. This story is now going to be updated every second Friday. so the next chapter will be posted on 5/2/2020 (2/5/2020 - US) then 19/2/2020 (2/19/2020 -US.)

1) Can you put a descendant of Mordred Pendragon in his harem? Also please Kuroka too. Sorry but I'm not gonna be making any changes to the Harem for this story... But a descendant of Mordred Pendragon... We'll have to wait and see.
2) Will Danny get stronger? simple Answer to this one, Yes.
3) Are following the anime or the light novel? A little bit of both in some cases.
4) I can tell by the writing that your obviously a male writer. The way you wrote the romance between your OC and Serafall is making me sick reading it. So to ask you a question do you think that a female writer would've done a better job than you or do you think we're just not good enough?
Right. This is a loaded question. Because I'm damned if I answer and I'm damned if I ignore it in the eyes of some people. But to start off I didn't know that a story could be gendered simply by how it is written.
But what honestly surprised me about this guest review was that a feminist wrote a review about Highschool DxD of all things. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was a man writing this instead just to stir a few pots as well.
However if you are after a serious answer to your question then yes, most likely a female writer would've done a better job on writing the romantic parts of this story. For the simple reason they know how to write for a female audience. The majority of the readers of this story I'm guessing are male readers.
