Hiro Mashima owns Fairy Tail and I'm just playing with the characters.

Laxus turned his head to the right, then to the left. He felt the sink cry under his tightening hold. A bit more that the ceramic would have given in, shattering to pieces. It had happened so many times already that he could easily tell exactly how much strength it required. But since it hadn't been that long time since he bought the latest one, he forced himself to let go. It was easier said than done, when his own reflection was staring back at him with a purple chin.

He took in a long breath through his nostrils, hold it for a second and then let it out between his lips. Like forcing open a bear trap, his fingers let go of the sink. When the poor ceramic was finally free, he returned back to his room and fell on his bed. He hadn't slept a wink last night. The roller coaster of emotions had kept him wake. Just when he had started to calm down, his mind would dig up something new to rile up his anger. Image of Makarov's ugly mug, whispering voices mocking Fairy Tail, some unpleasant memory... It didn't really matter what it was as long as it added fuel to the fire.

As the roller coaster ride on, every time it reached a peak the room was dimly light up by uncontrolled strands of lightning and the sound of gritting teeth filled the space. When the down slide started the room went black and quiet again. This patter repeated itself countless times trough the night. Only when the morning was right behind the corner, the coaster started to slow down and track got more even. It was mostly do to his tiredness. Being so pissed off so many hours in a row was exhausting, even for him. This same tiredness was probably the reason why his thoughts had drifted to the princess and his mind had been filled with useless pondering.

What kind of a person Lucy really was?

They had now know each other for two days and what he had learned was that the girl was naive and idiot. Only a naive idiot would come up with such an ridiculous plan. Fake boyfriend as a scarecrow? What a joke. Why go through all that trouble, if all she could do to avoid the marriage was to run away? If she had the money to pay him, she surely would have the money to live on her own until she would find a job for herself. Maybe she was so dependent on the glamorous life as the heiress that she didn't want to live without her gaudy dresses, overly expensive jewelry and pampering servants. Such a thought pattern would definitely suit a naive idiot, but... Somehow it didn't seem to fit the princess. Maybe it was because, even thou she was naive and idiot, she was also kind.

Naive and kind idiot. This was the princess Laxus knew. It made him wonder what kind of a person she really was, since it was impossible to get to know someone through and through in such a short time. How she had come up with the crazy plan? Why hadn't she run away? What had she been thinking when contacting him? Was she brave or just plain stupid? Why did she smell so good-

Laxus eyes had snapped wide open, when the first rays of the morning sun had hit his eyes, jerking him awake from his thoughts. Realizing what he had such been thinking, he had shaken his head. Had he gone crazy? What in the name of Mavis had been going through his head? He couldn't believe he had let his thoughts wander in such a direction no matter how tired he was.

Wanting to distract himself away from such thoughts, far away, Laxus opened his night stands drawer and pulled out the first magazine sticking to his fingers. And what a jackpot that had been. The magazines turned out to be one of Bickslow's dirty magazines, which the guy must have "forgotten" in the drawer. He let out a long pitying sigh, but ended up browsing through it anyway. It had been a big mistake. The magazine just had to be a special publication centering around blonde women.

Unintentionally Laxus had found himself imagining a certain blonde girl in place of the half naked women posing on the pages. The moment he had realized this, the magazine had flied across the room and he himself had marched to the bathroom to wash his face. What the hell was wrong with him?!

The flustered set of mind and the images of half naked Lucy had been forgotten the second he saw his reflection in the bathroom's mirror. The degrees in the room dropped as the events of yesterday started to play in his head once again, especially the scene of the utter humiliation where he gets heeled right on the chin. One new mental note was added in his collections to remind him to thank daddy's little princess for the beautiful bruise. He really didn't remember a time when he had felt so humiliated, yet he couldn't help the tiny seed of respect toward the girl in him. It had been ages since someone has been able to do such a surprise attack against him let alone succeed in bruising him.

Laxus laid in his bed, brows drawn together and the feeling of irritation tickling his chest, when without a warning his stomach growled loudly it nearly startled him. "Right..." He lazily pulled himself off the bed. He haven't eaten anything since the lunch yesterday. Bad mood always made him to loose his appetite. Still, eating was something vital and when his body was screaming so loudly for food, he wasn't going to ignore it.

Laxus walked to the door and hand already on the knob, he stopped to glance down. He wasn't wearing a shirt. The events of yesterday's morning were still vivid in his mind. He hesitated for a long second, but then yanked the door open. And fuck it! He would walk without a shirt in his own house, if he so wanted. It would be the girl's problem, if she couldn't keep her eyes to herself. A smirk visited his lips. But who was he to blame the princess. After all, he had a great body, which was hard to resist. Many ladies around the Fiore would surely agree. The smirk on his lips grew, taking a hint smugness in it.

Without shirt or any kind of cover for his upper body, Laxus walked proudly down the stairs. Midway his nose started to twist and the smug smirk died down. This sweet aroma... It was definitely the scent of a summer field. With every step the scent got stronger, until on the last step it was almost unbearable strong. If he had closed his eyes, he could have easily imaged himself standing on a grassy field on a hot summer day, the wind gently ruffling his hair. But in front of his eyes was his very own living room and under his bare feet was the hard, cold parquet.

Laxus stood there there paralyzed, the intense scent tickling his nose. Had he said it before, but the girl really did smell good. Instinctively his eyes scanned the room searching the blonde head of the scent owner. He wasn't sure was he supposed to feel relieved or disappointed that he didn't spot Lucy anywhere. Relieved was definitely what he was supposed to feel, because if the princess had been there, there was no saying what stupidity he might have done. But the feeling of disappointment was strong. He felt his tongue run over his canines. If Lucy had been there, then...

Laxus gave himself a literal slap on the cheeks. Over his dead body would he let his thoughts stray to that direction. God, he needed a woman. If the scent of some brat was able to make him almost loose it, his situation must have been more severe than he had known. The idea of heading right away to the closet open bar and hook himself some company crossed his mind. If there was a open bar, there would be a lady in need of some attention. He really did considered the idea, but only the thought of embracing a body smelling like old booze, tobacco and cheap perfume made his nose wrinkle with disgust. It would be like smelling a dumpster after this scent. Not a very appealing idea...

Gritting his teeth annoyed, Laxus pressed the back of his hand against his nose. He must really have been sleep and sex deprived, if a simple scent was able to turn him on and at the same time loose his libido. It was fucking confusing. And annoying. it was almost like someone was offering you a candy and when you were already tasting it in your mouth, they would pull it away. Maybe if he could somehow get rid off the scent, it would help the situation a little. And he knew just the right thing to that. It would also help clear his head.

Hand still covering his nose - poor attempt to block the scent - Laxus crossed the room to the kitchen. In no time, a kettle full of water was heating up on the stove. While waiting for the water to boil, he turned to the fridge. The constant growling of his stomach made it impossible to forget his original goal. One by one he pulled out everything and anything edible out of the cold closet.

When half of the fridge's content stood on the table, his hand stopped over the beers. Eyes narrowing he stared the cans for a moment. But then he pulled his hand away and closed the fridge. He would eat first. And after that, he just might enjoy one. He definitely had earned it.

The bitter aroma of coffee started to fill the kitchen as Laxus poured the hot water over the ground coffee beans. The dark brown liquid seeped through the filter bad, slowly dripping in to the cup under it. When the cup was full to the brim, he lifted it up and brought it under his nose. He took a big inhale, filling his lungs with the steam rising from the cup. Yes...this was much better. It felt like his nasal cavities was being cleansed and he was able to breath probably again. Bless the man, who discovered this divine substance.

Laxus placed his lips on the cups edge and was about to take a sip, when he realized something. He lowed the cup, then walked to the doorway leading to the living room. He slide his eyes over the space couple of times, but just like before, he didn't see the girl anywhere. Where the hell was she anyway? Brows drawn together, he took a gulp from his coffee. She wasn't in the living room nor the kitchen and it didn't sound like she would have been in the downstairs' bathroom... Had she left? His eyes darted toward the sofa. The girl's makeshift bed was still in place and her bag was placed nicely beside the furniture. So, she hasn't left... Had she gone out for other reason then?

One of Laxus' brows rose. Daddy's little princess didn't seem to be the type to go for a morning jog, but... Was there really any other reason for her to go out so early?

His pondering came to halt, when his stomach once more reminded him of the hunger, which was slowly killing him. Letting out a displeased sound, Laxus backed back to the kitchen. He would have plenty of time to guess where the girl has vanished after he has filled his stomach. And who know, maybe the girl will show up while his eating.
