A/N: Before reading this chapter, I just want to have your attention. I have an important announcement. There is an idea I want to implement and I had talked about it in an earlier A/N but no one responded to it. Basically, the idea is putting an OC Norse Demigod in 6th century Fate Britain and influencing Artoria and other characters. The OC is from an original work of mine that I used to work on as a hobby even before I discovered fanfiction. This is really important and will decide whether I can integrate my original work and the characters I've into the Nasuverse in fanfiction.
So, please tell whether I should go for it or not. Even one person is fine as long as I can understand what direction to take with this idea.
Now, with that done, enjoy the chapter!
Chapter-23
Thane
So, silver eyes just petrified the draconic grimm, not kill it. It would have been really helpful had Thane known about that earlier.
Now, he was in a really deep pit with only his silver eyes giving him light and his only companion was a 500-year-old grimm wyvern that was going to stop at nothing until he's dead.
This got a lot worse than I thought… Thane thought as the wyvern opened its maw and fired off another beam of lightning.
Thane fired up his semblance and dashed away from the attack. Considering that Mount Glenn sat on a lot of lightning dust crystals, Thane could assume that the Wyvern had consumed all the lightning dust crystals and consumed their mana to be able to fire off lightning beams.
I need to get out of here! Thane thought as he dodged another lightning beam. Right now, he had nothing that could kill the grimm. He needed something big, like an airstrike.
Thane then remembered an airbase that Vale's council had leased to the Atlesian military. Of course, he didn't have the authorization, but he knew someone who did.
But first… Thane spoke as he rolled away from the wyvern's claw slamming where he was just now. Thane drove hela into one of its fingers as the wyvern hissed from the sting it felt from the scythe.
Thane pulled himself onto the Wyvern's claw and began running up its arm. The wyvern tried to shake him off but Thane kept cutting Hela into its flesh and held on.
Thane then noticed something bulge on its shoulder and a small nevermore came out.
"Yep, there's something I recognize." Thane spoke, seeing the signature ability of elder grimm to be able to spawn other grimm from their body.
Thane shot down the never more with his shotgun before noticing more grimm burst out of the wyvern's body.
Thane channeled some of his power into his right hand and swung it, sending a wave of light that cut through the grimm as soon as the spawned.
Thane quickly climbed up to the wyvern's shoulder before more grimm could spawn. He immediately coated his boots with his silver energy as black tendrils attempting to hold in down burned as soon as they came in contact with the silver energy.
Thane noticed the wyvern's horns and another idea formed.
Let's see if this kills it! Thane thought before dashing to the wyvern's head. Just as he was about to reach the plating, he planted Hela into its neck and use it to flip into the air, channel silver energy into his right foot and slamming it down upon the wyvern's skull. The sheer force of the kick brought the wyvern down and disoriented it, giving Thane his chance to slice off a horn with Hela, grab it and stab it into the left side of the wyvern's head through its eyes.
The wyvern let out a roar of pain.
"You…silver-eyed…insect…" It let out growls with difficulty, surprising Thane. The only grimm he ever knew could talk was the White Grimm, but that thing shared a bare minimum of features to be called a grimm. Otherwise, it was something else. This wyvern, however, looked like any other elder grimm. So how did it just talk?
The wyvern shook its head and Thane fell down it's neck onto its back. Looks like the horn didn't penetrate deep enough to deliver a fatal blow. Thane loaded an explosive round into his shotgun and shot it at the wyvern's good eyes. The round exploded against the Wyvern's eyes, now rendering it blind.
"Alright, that should make this less problematic." Thane spoke before he noticed the wyvern's wings spread out. Thane felt a sense of déjà vu as he closed his eyes before stabbing Hela into the wyvern's back.
"Not again." He grumbled as the wyvern shot up, Thane holding on for dear life as the wyvern flew up the pit, crashing into walls due to its blindness.
One particularly nasty crash finally knocked Thane off.
"Woah!" He exclaimed as he found himself falling again. He used his semblance to direct his fall towards the walls and hook Hela onto it again. He looked up to see rocks falling down on him, with the wyvern still flying up.
Thane smirked. There was a long way and a short way to get back to the grimm. And there was no Sophia Schnee to hold him back from doing the short way.
Thane reinforced his legs and leapt from the wall and onto a falling rock, not stopping as he immediately jumped to the rock above it. Thane jumped through the falling rocks, cutting some chunks in half as he went up.
The wyvern let out a roar before its maw shoot out ball of plasma towards Thane, who let out a groan.
"Are you kidding me?! I have to jump through falling rocks AND dodge a lightning machine gun?!" He yelled as he jumped and held behind a rock as the rain of plasma balls shot beside him. Once they stopped, Thane climbed over and continued to jump. Then he noticed there were no more rocks and they were getting close to the edge.
"Ok, Thane! It's now or never!" Thane spoke before putting what remaining silver energy he had into his legs and making one huge jump at the last rock, shooting up as the force of his jump tore through the rock. Thane swung Hela and managed to hook it to the Wyvern's feet before swinging up and punching his fist into the wyvern's leg to hold on.
The wyvern growled at him as Thane smiled.
"We're not done yet, big boy!" Thane spoke before pulling out his scroll and calling Beacon's headmaster Norman Blanc.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Normie! It's Thane and I need some help right now!" Thane spoke quickly as he noticed grimm spawn from the wyvern's skin and charge towards him.
"What…happened?" Norman asked in a confused voice.
"Had a mission. Got really complicated." Thane spoke spinning Hela around him to repel the grimm before flowing into a swing and cutting down some beowolves. Thane dashed away from the swipe of another beowolf and began blasting his shotgun, getting some more before using whatever silver energy he'd regained to stamp down on the wyvern's back, burning the smaller grimm while the wyvern let out another roar of pain.
"…What was that?"
"As I said, it got really complicated." Thane spoke sheepishly before dodging the wyvern's claw scratching at its back to get him off.
"Do you want me to send huntsmen?"
"No, no! Just request the Atlesian air force stationed in the Glenn airfield to launch an airstrike on Mount Glenn."
"What have you…"
"No more questions, Normie! I'm on a really tight schedule!" Thane yelled before dodging a coupled more attempts to shake him off and swinging Hela at the base of one of the Wyvern's wings, cutting it off as the Wyvern roared in pain again.
"Alright. On it. Just get out of there before the bombers arrive." Norman spoke as the wyvern crashed into the edge of the pit.
Thane tumbled off the Wyvern's back and looked at his handiwork. The wyvern's plating on the back had a lot of cracks from Thane's, its face's left side was blackened from the explosion, the horn was still stabbed into its right side and it was missing a wing.
Thane sighed. He may have done some good damage, but he was out of juice. However, while earlier he didn't think he could kill the grimm, now he believed he could.
And so, Thane charged at the grimm, using his semblance to avoid its attacks while scoring some good hits. Soon the wyvern started limping from the wounds it received while Thane's armor was able to deflect whatever plasma balls the wyvern shot at him. This went for some time. Soon, Thane stood breathing heavily, having stopped using his semblance to conserve energy.
As he looked at the grimm, Thane suddenly remembered something he saw in the relic of choice years ago.
A wyvern floating in the air as Vale's buildings were frozen…
Suddenly, it all clicked. As Thane dodged the wyvern's attacks, he remembered what was going to happen.
This was it. The choice he was going to make. It is most likely that the Atlesian airstrike will kill the wyvern, but what if it did not? What if he had to finish it here and now?
But if he did so, he won't have enough time to get out, and this cave will become both his and the wyvern's graves.
The wyvern shot a lightning beam which hit the tunnel Thane had earlier come from and created a fire. Thane glanced at it and back at the wyvern.
Should he die fighting the wyvern, or should he escape and hope the airstrike kills the wyvern?
I'm coming in a month.
Thane grit his teeth. "Gods damn it!" He yelled. The time when he wanted to die was long past. He was now a man with a family. If he chose to stay, they will be devastated when they would hear of his death.
"I can't do this…" Thane muttered before making a run for the tunnel. His scroll rang and he picked it up.
"Thane, are you out?"
"No."
"What? Get out of there, Thane! The bombers can already see Mount Glenn!" Norman yelled as Thane's eyes widened.
He heard the wyvern run behind him and run faster, jumping through the fire and running through the tunnel, ignoring the small sparks that were on his armor. The wyvern's claw stretched through the tunnel and just tore off a piece of Thane's cloak before it could move no further.
Thane could hear the wyvern's roars of rage as he continued to run, his pace getting faster as he heard the distant sound of the engines of Atlesian bombers.
Thane soon saw the tunnel's opening.
Home run, home run! Thane thought before he heard the whistling sound of bombs being dropped.
Thane used his semblance one last time to make a high-speed dash, flying through the cave and tumbling down the mountain as the bombs hit the cave behind him.
Thane got up and hid behind a rock, put up his hood and hid in his cloak as the ensuing storm of debris engulfed him. His aura deflected any pieces of debris that hit him. Thane remained in this position for some time before the debris cleared and Thane could get a look of the cave.
It had been obliterated, the mountain's peak having collapsed and fallen into the pit.
Thane's silver eyes glowed and he could sense the wyvern's life force die out.
Thane let out an explosive sigh and laid down, looking up at the night sky above him.
"556,783 for Thane, 0 for the grimm." Thane spoke with a smile before getting up and pulling up his scroll to call Norman.
"Thane! Are you alright?"
Thane's mask unfolded to reveal Thane's dirty face, his armor covered in air along with some singes on his clothes.
"Yep…peachy, Normie."
"Is it dead?"
"Yep, I checked. It's dead."
"Good. I'll call off the bombers. Is there anything you need?"
Just send an aurorus to come pick me up. I think I've had enough running for the day." Thane spoke.
"Welcome to Beacon, Ozpin." Norman spoke as Ozpin looked at Beacon's hallways in wonder. Thane walked beside him with a bored expression on his face.
3 days had passed since he took down the wyvern of Mount Glenn, he'd gone to Beacon's infirmary for a checkup and the doctors only found some sores on his legs from the amount of running and physical activity he did. Otherwise he was fine.
Coming out of the infirmary, he first got Norman to adopt Ozpin and bring him to Beacon. Of course, Norman, being the faithful servant of Osmond, was more than happy to take in his master's successor.
"It's amazing…" Ozpin breathed out. Thane looked at him as he looked like he was listening to someone.
"Oz, don't you start assaulting the kid's mind with one of your grandiose speeches about how good it is."
Ozpin stared at him with wide eyes before he froze up and Osmond took control.
"Good to see you're back too, Thane." He spoke chuckling before looking at Norman. "I knew I could depend on you to manage the academy after my death."
Norman smiled and bowed. "Anything for you, Great Master Osmond."
Thane snorted. "Sycophant." He spoke as Norman shot him a glare, receiving an evil smirk in return.
"Now, Thane. What have I told you about courtesy?" Osmond chided Thane who rolled his eyes. "Blah, blah, I gotcha."
"Now, is it dead?"
"Yep. I felt its life force die out." Thane spoke.
"I don't understand. Since when did grimm have life forces considering they are…" Norman spoke up.
"They somehow do. At this point, we just have to accept that grimm will remain as big middle fingers to our logic."
"Moving on, you have killed it?"
"The bombers did. But I made sure it was close enough to get hit."
"Very well. Then congratulations, Thane. You are officially free from my service. Thank you for all that you have done for the order." Osmond spoke with a smile.
Thane smiled softly. "Thank you too. I would still be a depressed idiot in the Schnee mansion if you didn't convince me to do something better with my life."
"Is there anything you want?"
"Nah. This isn't goodbye. I'll still be working with you. But no more missions. I've personally chosen some of my best students who've graduated as potential recruits. We'll start talking to them soon and begin creating a fresh bunch of fine huntsmen to help with keeping Salem away. Now, I gotta go. I still have to deal with what's happening at Cysgod."
Osmond nodded and held out his hand. Thane shook it before walking off.
"See you later, Oz!" Thane spoke before stopping. "Oh, wait! I forgot one thing!"
Thane came back to Osmond and pulled out a familiar object from his coat.
Osmond's face brightened up as he held The Long Memory in his hand. "Ah, it's good to see you again." He spoke before performing a few thrusts. "Hm, it's heavy. But it's most likely because this body is new. Thank you, Thane."
Thane nodded and waved at the two before walking off, leaving Norman and Osmond to discuss their own thing.
"Now, the big job's done. Only my planned lesson with Port and Maria remains." Thane spoke. Currently, the students were on a break, so Port and Maria had nothing to do.
He went to the dorm room of Team PMKN (Pumpkin) and knocked on the door of the boys' room.
It opened to reveal…
Thane's eyebrows shot up as Peter Port stood in nothing but some really small red shorts.
Oh…Oh my…Thane thought as he quickly took a picture with his scroll as Port realized who was standing in front of him.
"AAAAAHHHH!" Port's scream echoed through the hallway as he looked at his mentor in horror.
"Go put on some clothes." Thane spoke with an innocent smile as Port quickly closed the door in embarrassment.
"That's one idiot down. Now for the other…" Thane spoke knocking on the girls' door.
"Who the fuck is here at this time of the day?!" He heard a familiar voice as the door flew open to reveal a certain Maria Calavera, who looked like she'd just woken up, wearing a dark blue tank top and pale blue shorts.
"Which motherfucker is it…gah!" Maria screamed as Thane flicked her forehead. "Is that how you greet your teacher, Maria?" He asked in a sweet voice as Maria rubbed her forehead and stared at him with wide eyes.
"Uh…"
"100 pushups once you put on some clothes." Thane spoke in the same sweet voice.
"Wait, hold on!" Maria tried to speak as Thane closed the door.
Soon, both Port and Maria came out in their usual clothing, Port with his red coat, red trousers and brown shirt as well as his weapon Blowhard, while Maria stood in her teal blue tunic, her dark gray hooded cloak and her skull mask. Her twin scythes Life and Death were clipped to a belt.
"So, teacher." Port began in a measured voice. "What is the matter? Do you need our help with a dangerous grimm?"
"Lay off the top brass accent, Port. I'm going to make you do rounds if you don't get out of it." Thane spoke in a deadpan.
Port spluttered as Maria snorted in amusement.
"Keep laughing, Maria. You still have your pushups to do. Now come on, we'll talk in the courtyard." Thane spoke walking off leaving both his students slumping.
Maria struggled to complete her 100th pushup before collapsing, panting as she looked at Thane.
She opened her mouth but then closed it, not wanting to risk another punishment.
"How does she do a 100? I can't even do 50." Port grumbled as Thane shrugged. He didn't point out that as a silver-eyed warrior, Maria had enhanced strength and speed compared to normal humans. Poor Port was one of those 'normal humans' but at least he made up for it with better tactical thinking. Maria was a bit headstrong and could really get herself in trouble if not for Port's wits.
Maria sat down next to them as Thane got up and faced his students.
"Uh, Thane, have you heard about the recent spike in activity of grimm in Mount Glenn?" Port spoke as Thane stopped. He hadn't been checking the news lately so he didn't know what happened on Mount Glenn after he took down the wyvern.
"Yeah, I heard around 3 days back, the Atlesian air force bombed the mountain's peak, don't know why, but ever since then, there have been a lot of grimm." Maria spoke as realization struck Thane.
The wyvern, like all elder grimm, did not dissolve after death. Its corpse was still buried in Mount Glenn and spawning smaller grimm as a result.
If it fell into Salem's hands…
That would be really bad… Thane thought before looking back at Port and Maria.
"Yeah, I heard about it. But we're not going there right now. There's a more pressing issue."
Port raised an eyebrow. "You remember my little mission in Cysgod?"
They nodded.
"Well, I didn't kill all the shadows, apparently. They repopulated so I'm returning to Cysgod to finish the job. And you two are coming with me on a little field trip."
Port and Maria exchanged nervous glances. "When are we leaving?"
And so, they went to Cysgod. For a few days, Thane went into the forests and mostly let Port and Maria handle the shadows, showing them tricks to get them before letting them do it.
There were some funny moments, like Maria and Port getting stuck defending the campfire and screaming as a huge horde of Shadows attacked them, but mostly the hunting missions went uneventfully. Cysgod village itself was cooperative, its young headman Onyx being helpful and its innkeeper being really hospitable.
In those moments, Thane recorded his battle with the wyvern in his trusty diary and put down his analysis of its abilities like he always does.
Soon, it was time to leave. It was night, Thane, Port and Maria just had dinner and went to their rooms. While Port and Maria went to sleep in their rooms, Thane sat finishing up his entry regarding the wyvern.
Of course, he remembered the wyvern's corpse again. What to do about that?
It was not possible for him to dig through, too many chunks. Keeping it a secret? But he had just recorded it into his diary, including the fact that its corpse was still there in Mount Glenn.
Thane looked at his page once again before putting a finger to his chin. What if he tore the pages off the diary and gave it to someone who could keep it safe?
Immediately, that someone came to Thane's mind.
Onyx yawned as he heard the doorbell ring. It was nighttime, and he needed to go to sleep.
"Who's there…?" He spoke drowsily as he opened the door to see Thane.
"Oh!" Onyx exclaimed. "Do you need anything, Sir?"
Thane nodded. "Can I come in?"
"Oh, of course!" Onyx spoke ushering Thane in.
"How can I help you?" Onyx asked as Thane pulled out some pages from his coat.
"I need you to do some safekeeping." Thane spoke as Onyz tilted his head on confusion. "These pages?" He spoke reaching out for them before Thane moved them away.
"What these pages contain is confidential information that not even my superiors in Vale's council know about, Onyx. Maybe Oz does, considering he had a little involvement. But you cannot let anyone other than the two of us know of this until the time is right."
Onyx's eyes widened. "S-Sir, are you sure?" he asked nervously. What could be this information that not even Vale's council know of.
"Yep. I decided that you should be the best man for the job." Thane spoke. "You've helped us a lot. Plus, I did investigation of my own to make sure that you can be trusted with this. Because it's a very big secret, and I don't want it to be kept with me."
"But what are these pages?" Onyx asked.
"Well, that is a long story. Sit tight and stay calm, because some of the things I'm going to tell you is going to sound crazy. Just don't have me put in an asylum in a straitjacket" Thane spoke. He sighed before looking back at Onyx with a tired smile.
"So, what is your favorite fairytale?" He asked.
Onyx's house, Cysgod village, 80 AGW:
"So, what is your favorite fairytale?"
Onyx still remembers that question to this day. At that time, it seemed like a silly question that confused him. He did not realize that that silly question would change his life forever.
Team RWBY, Port, Tristan and Ruler were silent.
"Woah…" Yang spoke. "Thane's really, really strong…"
"To take on an elder grimm alone and not only survive but kill it as well…" Weiss spoke in shock.
"Well, Thane was said to be the greatest huntsman ever." Ruby spoke with a smile.
"That he was." Onyx spoke chuckling. He'd omitted the parts about Salem, Ozma and silver eyes, since Thane had told him that was something someone else will reveal. But otherwise, he told all that Thane told him.
"So that's why he reacted so strangely when I told him about the spike of grimm activity. He inadvertently caused it." Port spoke
"So, the grimm is still in Mount Glenn?" Tristan asked.
"Yes, It's corpse is buried under the debris from the bombing. I don't know how the enemy found out, but they're clearly looking for its location and want the pages."
"We have to warn Ozpin." Ruby spoke up. "That we will. But first we have to deal with this problem." Onyx spoke. "But how?"
"The shadow servants are able to exist because someone is providing them with the energy to do so." Tristan spoke. "It is the fourth human who has not revealed themselves yet, and I know that they are hiding in the forest. So, If we can bring down the culprit, the shadow servants dissipate and the enemy side will collapse."
"So, we'll venture into the forest?" Weiss asked a bit nervously.
"We have to. Now that we know what they are after, we cannot afford to play defensive. We have to make our move."
"Then I shall come." Port spoke. "Thane made me memorize Cysgod's forest's layout so I can be your guide."
"I shall come, since I can effectively counter Perseus." Tristan spoke.
"I shall stay in the village in case of an attack." Ruler spoke up.
"Good. Onyx, make preparations for a possible attack. Should we fail, then we'll flush out the fourth culprit." Port spoke as Onyx nodded. "When will you leave?"
"We shall leave tomorrow at night. The night should provide us with cover." Port spoke before looking at Team RWBY. "Team RWBY, we are approaching the end of our mission and its most dangerous part yet. You all may stay with Ruler if you want. But if any of you want to come, then now is the time to make your choice."
"We'll go with you." Team RWBY replied simultaneously.
Port smiled. "Good. Then it is done! Tomorrow, we'll put an end to this once and for all!" He declared loudly.
Yet as they celebrated, a shadow of doubt continued to nag at the back of Onyx's mind.
A/N: I wrote this chapter on Tuesday just in case I couldn't post on Friday. Also, We've hit 100,000 words on this story, an achievement which I thought would take me 80 chapters back when I was writing the Prologue. But to be fair, I had a much different plan for this story back then. With the current one I am following, it's no wonder I managed to get 100,000 in less than 25 chapters. And that's just 1/7th of the story done. If I can continue writing original arcs the size of this one later on, I'll definitely cross 150 chapters by the time this story is finished. But that's a long way to go.
Thane vs the Wyvern is me going full Hraezlyr. The lightning breath, beginning in a dark pit, really big dragon vs humanoid who has divinity (Assuming silver-eyed warriors are descended from the God of Light). Of course, Thane's no Kratos, so I had to restrain myself from writing feats beyond Thane's power level.
We're approaching the end of the Cysgod arc. I think around three more chapters and this gigantic arc is done. And after that...the final arc of volume-2. I'm actually nervous because it's also going to be a pretty big arc, not as big as this but most likely more than my usual 3 chapters. Plus, it's going to have a lot things I need to cover before finishing volume-2.
At least I won't have to think too much about this story after that, since I'll be starting Fall of Heaven and progressing it a bit before I start doing both stories in a mixed schedule.
After that, It'll just be a little bit more before Team RWBY dives into the war, Sigurd finally understands the full extent of the situation on Remnant and Ozpin realizes that the arrival of servants is going to make things a lot more difficult than he expected. Volume-3 will essentially start the story for real after the characters have been prepped enough to take on the combined threat of Salem and the mysterious faction of servants.
Also, my term exams are beginning from 12th of September and lasting till the end of the month, so no chapters during this period. You'll probably be seeing me only dropping a review in any story among the Fate, RWBY and PJO fandoms in September.
Now, I'm planning on creating a sort of pool where I put in teasers for future stories that I shall touch upon (Since I do plan on writing fanfiction for a long time). I'll label it as a Fate & X-over since most of the stories would be of the Fate series.
I originally wanted to put the OC demigod story announcement here, but my fear of it being ignored again had me put it on the top.
Hope you guys enjoyed and Constructive criticism is appreciated!
Response to Reviews:
Maglad: Yep, I got it. Now, I just want to clarify that the Thane segment is not RWBY reading Thane's entries. If Thane's diary recorded all that happened in this and the previous chapter, then Team RWBY would find out about Ozma, Salem and just about everything Ozpin's trying to hide. So, to avoid Team RWBY finding about certain things in the plot too early, I decided to write Thane's mini-arc as a sort of flashback that shows the full description of what happened instead of a censored one being read by Team RWBY that forces me to omit a lot of details to avoid spoiling them to Team RWBY.
Extra Response (Since it is constructive criticism, so I'm happy to respond right now and not next chapter)
Maglad: Well, I'll go by this slowly:
1. Thane having a cellphone - You have seen just how advanced Remnant's scrolls are. Thane's scroll would be more primitive, but if I went by estimates, it would be on the level of a smartphone developed in the early 2010s. How did that happen? If a certain technology is in high demand, then insanely fast progress can be made on it. Look at our history, for example. The Germans went from the A7V to the Tiger 1 in just a span of 20 years. If the technology is in high demand, then insane amounts of progress can be made on it.
Now coming back to Remnant, once the Great War ended, the four kingdoms basically wanted to bring in an age of globalisation. Looking at our history, communication was extremely important for the development of globalisation. Henceforth, a lot of effort was made towards communication and resulting in massive amounts of progress in that branch.
Even looking at the great war itself, the Mantleian military would put in some funds into communication for better coordination among its troops and later use this research to create the CCTS and invent scrolls.
If the Germans can go from a cumbersome metal box to the most fearsome tank in WW2 in just 30 years, why can't the same amount of progress apply to Remnant?
2. How did he contact someone? - The CCTS was built after the Great War, as mentioned in the lore. That means the communication towers did exist at the time of this.
3. Why didn't the bombers bomb again? - I made some changes to that. So, Thane confirms the kill to Norman, who calls off the bombers.
4. Why didn't Thane know it wasn't dead? - You're misunderstanding this. It IS dead. The wyvern didn't survive the airstrike and is actually dead. It didn't go into hibernation. And about 'Grimm aren't dead until they sublimate', I mentioned that that does not apply to Elder Grimm.
Again saying this, the Wyvern IS dead. Thane did not make a mistake.
5. Parkour not existing on Remnant - Yeah, I felt like 'Parkour' shouldn't have been there. But I guess I just needed someone to point it out for me to change it.
I wasn't distracted while writing this chapter. The few inconsistencies were just me getting a bit too excited in writing Thane's fight. Otherwise I did keep not of most of the details. Hope this clarified your doubts.
About the OC stuff, can you explain why I shouldn't go for it? I know OCs aren't liked a lot in fanfiction, but I still want to do it.
