Untouchable Mistake

For fuck's sake. Guess what is one of first reviews after I post a rant about how you are not supposed to ask me to 'please update soon'? 'Please update soon!' My god, people! I really don't want to do this, and I really love you, but if I stop posting weekly, just out of spite (and I'm a very, very petty and spiteful, and arrogant, and short-tempered person, who often acts childish as fuck when mad) you'll have Guest/Anon from Feb 13 to thank!

Yarn of Time stuff won't be published with any order whatsoever, and don't affect the original publish dates. I just publish them when I feel like it.

Shimura Danzo was having very, very bad day. But then, for past months, he couldn't remember which was even remotely passable as neutral. He was sourer and more bitter than usual, more demanding and less forgiving. And the source of his foul mood?

A mistake named Uchiha Ren.

Itachi was to kill them all. All, except for Sasuke, and yet, here she was, running around like a carefree kid pretending to be a ninja. He would have removed her when she was still bedridden-

If he knew she survived to begin with. But no, Hiruzen was growing wary of him. If anything, the fool suspected that Danzo actually had a part in the Massacre – and this was why he kept Uchiha Ren under such tight protection. To the point he allowed her to live in his estate, actually.

No problem, Danzo thought then. She would be taken care of when she was left to her own.

Except, he miscalculated.

He should've grown wary when she started spending time with Inuzuka heir, but he wrote it off as need to socialize. Pathetic, he thought then. But afterwards, the heir's younger brother came to play. Kyuubi vessel. Nara, Akimichi, Aburame, Hyūga- Hound and Tenzo, one of most efficient ANBU the village had, and Genma, one of most effective assassins, perhaps in history.

Before long, Uchiha Ren was surrounded with people – clan heirs – that would notice if she suddenly went missing. That would not only notice, but investigate. From a mere pebble on his road, to a full-blown nuisance. One he couldn't be rid of. Inuzuka Tsume seemed to share her children's sentiments, Hyūga Hiashi was scoffing as always, but him not forbidding his daughter to spend time with Uchiha was equivalent of open agreement. Nara Shikaku found the girl quite interesting, if brash, and Akimichi Choza, on behalf of his son, was very much capable of praising her to the heavens.

And Aburame Shibi. The leader of her team. Oh how much blood of his she rot – but even he seemed to, in Aburame way, to develop fondness of her.

And suddenly, the nobody that Uchiha Ren should have been became Uchiha Matriarch, the Clan Head with her own place at the council. With much more influence – even if it was influence from the future – than she should have had. Ever.

And Shimura Danzo couldn't do anything about her because of it. Because that would raise questions. Too many questions asked by too attentive people, which would in turn lead to too many things coming to light. Things that were to remain in the dark.

Shimura Danzo hated the nuisance that was Uchiha Ren. The nuisance that caught him talking to Aburame Torune and Shibi, and somehow the very next day every single Aburame seemed to know him. Not only know, but he knew when someone considered him a threat.

Shimura Danzo hated the nuisance that was Uchiha Ren, and she proved to be untouchable to him by almost all means.

He could only hope that accidents he orchestrated on her future missions would lead to a tragic accident. He smirked to himself. Yes, that would be good.

(He didn't notice small Joro Spider perched in the corner of his office. He never did – insects were insects, and they were noticed only, if they had chakra, like Aburame insects. And thus, the spider slid down the wall soundlessly and, through the crack in the wall, vanished without being noticed, as only spider or a cat could.)

Uchiha Ren allowed her face to warp into an expression that had too much teeth to be a smile, as she gently stroked the back of a small Joro Spider perched on her shoulder. With how the creature was positioned – with its legs on her head, and its head near to her ear – one might thing that the spider was whispering her secrets.

But alas, it was but a spider. What it could do anyway?

(If asked later, Ren would claim that spiders did, in fact, whisper her secrets – and nobody would believe her. Because, silly, spiders don't know any secrets.

And her grin would only turn feral in answer.)

Fuchslady - I will involve Gaara, but h won't appear until the Chunin Exams. Which are in, like, six years from now. Yarn of Time is a thread for other stuff, really. In this thread I will just post whole CPwUR as it goes. It's not like I'm going to post every single installment as a new fic - it's troublesome. If this site only had a feature like AO3 that allows to create series, I would. But nah, now I'll just stick with one thread.

Helyanweh - I know I make a lot of mistakes, and I'm too lazy to fix them. Thankfully, I have found myself a beta, hestia8639, and as soon as all previews chapters have been corrected (although I won't be able to re-post them all, as some of my files in Doc Manager expired) you will get a beta'd chapter, with, hopefully, significantly less mistakes. And I meant Hemophobia. Shit, forgot that I didn't fix it on this site. I'm so stupid. And I have different plans for Orochimaru than that C

TamashinoSuzume - Sasuke pretty much does have a Siscon, yes. Or some sort of hero worship thing. Anyway, whatever he used to have for Itachi. And Sakura was implied to have crush on Ren anyway, so, yeah. And other brats? Well, there's that older, cooler girl who made ninja and knows some cool, flashy jutsu. Who doesn't push them away. Actually, by sole fact of not pushing them away gained her a row of faithful ducklings.

DarkDust27 - I have something for him planned, so, yes, he will reappear. Someday. Somewhere C

fernandfeather - almost everyone is smol compared to Kisame, and Zabuza pretty much gives off the vibe of that constantly angry guy. Kinda like a chihuahua.

icecold1039 - yes, you did, but that's settled and i'm really glad we came to an understanding. And Hibiki is kind of a filler where I was un-creative and just stuffed a random Hyuga Branch Member with them. He has no planned significance later in the story other, than being on their team and being the weak link (kind of like Sakura was at first, just Ren is less tolerant to his jackass demeanor). And Ren doesn't hive them reasons to dislike her per se. She's vulgar and hot-tempered, but not quite malicious and almost friendly. She's just... Well, weird. And I do admit, I didn't exactly plan out anyone disliking her, honestly. Not to the point of heated rivalry, at least. As I said, Hibiki is pretty insignificant, and Zabuza doesn't exactly dislike her, he's just trying to wrap his head around how can she treat him normally instead of cowering in fear like his genin do. In fact, Ren has little-to-no self preservation skills in such situations, but he doesn't need to know that.

donstehly2 - currently I have only one more familiar face planned, I believe. And trust me, they'll get a plenty threatening situations in second round. And third? Well, let's just state the obvious - only the most bloodthirsty and headstrong make it there. Or pyromaniac. Or any desctuction-maniac in total, really, with enough skill.

animeloverpragya - Itachi was born in year preceding Ren, but he's from June and she's from March. Year-wise, Itachi was actually thirteen, but actual time-wise there isn't a full year between them.

Guest (chapter 24 . Feb 13) - I hate you.

NatNicole - mein gott, as I reader myself I know it's easy to forget that the writer whose story you like actually has a life and won't spam a chapter daily, but some toning down would be nice. Especially if it's stated loud and clear that updates are weekly. Not daily, not every three days, but every week.

starsarebright - honestly, I don't think I would be able to figure them myself, so pros for you. And Deidara... He's such a blast (^_−)

Aka-chansama - because she usually hides in Ren's shadow, people thing Ren to be the worst one. Poor fools, the sad lot. Poor, unprepared fools. Ren is probably most likely just 'oh my god, keep that thing (child) away from me or bad things will happen'. Ren just really hates kids below certain lever of age and comprehension. She actually likes Rookie Nine because ninja kids are smarter than civvies. Also, Kisame and Deidara aren't the only Akatsuki members that will have met Ren. I have one person in mind that will 100% happen (another favorite of mine) but others might just have a chance (to get mentally scarred) meeting. And yes, that club would totally be about rehab - Uchiha Ren is not a person. It's an experience. And oh my god, Anko. That... That probably would not end well. For anyone. At all. Ever.

HikariNoTenshi-San - Ren is actually quite bad at riddles. They frustrate her, and she got the map only because of good old Dragon Age. And don't worry, it's not pushy ^.^

Lendary - I'm not Sharingan specialist, but I'll try once she actually starts using it in battle. I mean, battle with actual people, not her alarm block or clothes.

kankananime123 - those four together? Now isn't that absolutely frightening thought. Hiashi is lowkey frightened of his old teammate anyway, and he knows that Hana didn't exactly fall far from the tree even if she tries to cover that up. And Ren and Anko? Those two are nothing but trouble, so he might suffer mild heart-attack upon seeing them together. Shibi would just deal with it, because he can control three of four, and Kakashi? In order to save his sanity he would perhaps roll with them.
