Sonny felt like he was punched in the stomach. Six years ago he found that file. Intel that The Pirates Council of Elders gathered. This suddenly became his top priority.
"How did Micro Ice know about that file? It's classified." He managed. D'Jok sighed.
"He's in big trouble, isn't he?" He asked as he looked at his father. Sonny could only nod.
"Do you have any idea where he might be? The details of that file connects back to the Flux wars." Sonny told his son. D'Jok nodded.
"Do you know who was behind the Flux Wars?" He asked. Sonny sighed as he sat down.
"I think we should discuss that somewhere more safe. Come over for dinner tomorrow. Corso and I will show you the intel. This file is classified for good reasons. At the moment, The Shadow behind The Throne is untouchable, even for us. Keep it a secret, even for Mei. This person is dangerous." Sonny said. D'Jok nodded.
"But what about Micro Ice? We still have no idea where he is." D'Jok said, focusing back on his best friend. Sonny nodded.
"I'll see if we can trace his signal." Sonny suggested. D'Jok took off his transmitter and handed it to his father.
"You can have it. Just bring back Micro-Ice."

Brim Balarius looked at the list of newly approved Flux Masters. He sighed. These people taught they would help the Galaxy. Well, they would, just not in the way they figured. Another sigh. Brim Simbra's untimely death made his mission go a lot quicker but it also left him vulnerable. He closed his eyes as he remembered. Why he was here. Why he was… made. To ensure peace throughout the Galaxy. He had the highest respect for Master Simbra, but did not always agree with his ways. There was always a shadow behind him. He knew little about them, not even a name. Just that they were the answer. They couldn't afford a new war. He had to make sure the Pirates wouldn't figure him out. By the time it was all over, a single, Galaxy wide Resonance would be reality. No one, not even the Flux Masters, would escape the effects.
He felt loneliness creeping in again. So many people around him but he knew none of them would understand. They would just ask questions without answers. About the forces that placed him there. Created him…
He didn't want to rule. He just wanted to keep the peace. He held the power to decide the rules of how Flux could be used. His handlers, which was the best way he could put it for now, had made their goal clear. They wanted Galactik dominance. They didn't care who got hurt. He was nothing but a pawn in their game. Even his nickname; The Shadow behind The Throne, bore little meaning to him. He was nothing more than a puppet. A mole. And they forced him to work with… unsavory individuals.
Including General Bleylock.
He was there when Bleylock had captured Sonny. They even talked.
"What is your plan? You know he's too dangerous to keep alive." He said, looking at the reservoir where Sonny was trapped. Bleylock looked at Sonny as well.
"Don't worry. That bubble is impossible to escape. He's insurance that everything will go according to plan. The Pirates wont do anything that puts him at risk. Pity he'll have to die eventually. At least it will be mostly painless." The general said, eerily calm. Brim Balarius only nodded as he looked at Sonny. He decided to go against his Masters' wishes and plant information about Sonny's whereabouts in the Technoid computers. He wouldn't let him die. Not then. He still had a role to play.
Brim Balarius smiled to himself. A shadow could be many things. Maybe he could even save the Galaxy.

The truck was loaded and ready to go. Micro Ice did his best to keep his head low. His new suppliers of Mice Delight weren't exactly the most trusted fellows. That wasn't the best idea. He remembered going through some boxes. That had been when the trouble he was already in got worse. There were files in there, labeled Flux wars. He found something else as well. Four test tubes with Multiflux. He didn't know what it was exactly but it didn't sound good. The tubes were marked with a small symbol that felt familiar. He had to get these samples to Sonny and Clamp for testing. They would know what this was all about. For now, he had to hide them. He had a special area behind the seat in his small truck just for that purpose. He hid them there. As he closed up, he made sure he wasn't seen as he went to pick up a few more boxes. Micro Ice pretended to fall in the snow due to the heavy load.
"Why is this warehouse all the way here, anyway?" He pretended to pout as he stood up, and started to pick up his mess.
"You can always quit." The Xenon guard said. As soon as he departed the warehouse with the new batch of Mice Delight, he breathed a sigh of relief. As soon as he was in the clear, Micro Ice contacted Artie.

Callie was in the kitchen, preparing dinner for guests. She loved having Mei and Iris over. Sonny entered the kitchen.
"Something smells good, what's for dinner?" He asked as he leaned in to give her a kiss. Callie chuckled as she placed her hands around his neck to caress his cheek.
"Chicken and broccoli. Iris' favorite." Callie playfully reminded him. Sonny smiled when he thought of his five year old granddaughter.
"Pirate Style?" He mused. Callie laughed.
"Of course. She adores it." She pointed out.
"Wouldn't have it any other way." Sonny said as he reached for a glass. Corso joined them. "Did you find the file I was asking for?" He asked. Corso grinned.
"I sent over everything that felt relevant." He said. Sonny nodded and sat down to read. Callie looked at Corso.
"Is Sonny alright? He looks stressed." She asked, concerned. Corso nodded.
"We still haven't found Micro Ice." Corso stated as he reached for the mug of coffee Callie handed him. Callie was thinking.
"This isn't anything like him." She commented. Corso nodded as he took a sip of his coffee.
"He probably didn't have a choice. There's no way he wouldn't be there for D'jok's graduation." Corso explained. Callie was about to say something, when a buzzing signal sounded from Corsos holowatch.
"Artie, do you have shipment lists for the next cargo from Chissia to Technoid?" He asked as Artie's hologram appeared.
"I'll take care of it. Is Sonny there?" He asked.
"I'm here Artie, you got some information on Micro Ice?" Sonny asked as he entered the room and stood next to Corso. Artie nodded. He split his screen in two and showed the four test tubes with the crest.
"He sent me these images, and a rather incredible story." He said.
"What did he tell you?" Sonny asked. Artie sent him a recording of the conversation which Sonny listened to immediately.
"This is big. It connects with the Flux Wars. And Brim Balarius might be involved. I'll send you to Akillian with a team. Find Micro Ice and get him to Genesis." He said. Corso nodded.
"This is bad, isn't it?" He asked. Sonny nodded, gaze fixed on the images Artie had sent. He studied the crests more closely. There was something familiar about them.
"Send the images to Bennett. Tell him to find out what those crests mean." Sonny ordered. Corso nodded and took a closer look at the crest with the green background.
"I'll be damned. Sonny, take a look at this crest. We know this one." Corso said.
"That crest is from the Eworhaler family. They were the most peaceful of the noble families of Abraxor." Corso said.
"Who is the Eworhaler Family? And why do you know it?" Callie asked. Sonny closed his eyes with a sigh.
"I really hoped it didn't come to this… He doesn't deserve it." Sonny softly said. Corso placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Doesn't look like we have a choice." Corso admitted. Callie looked at both of them.
"What are you talking about?" She asked.
"It's Bennett's family crest… from Abraxor." Sonny answered.

A/N; Poor Bennett. He'll be in for a difficult time. This fic will also be more focused on explaining how the Resonance affects all the Galactik Football players, and how the ones that mastered it, may become the key to stop a Galactic War.
The Resonance is a factor that will require former enemies to work together, against an enemy that still has not shown his face. I hope you like it.
A big thanks to Paranoidgirl, for helping me with the story.
