Chapter 3: The Last 2-Years | Part III |
Tambry was aghast, subconsciously dropping her phone to the floor, frozen in place while Robbie tried his best to be there for her, she struggled to unravel and process this. Time was frozen, the ditzy yet somehow loveable housewife, her mom, was part of a brainwashing cult. They already had a strange relationship and this knowledge was adding a layer on top of that. Tambry knew that she wouldn't have time to process this, she just wanted to know why.
"Mom, why?"
"To protect you."
After a long silence, Tambry fell to her knees, she didn't know how much more of this she could take, she turned away from the woman in front of her, whom she now knew she could no longer trust, and into her boyfriends' comforting arms. Some small part of her was curious as to how this could have happened and wanted to watch the memory tubes to see if she could find out why, but she ignored it, this was too painful. Tambry didn't feel the need to cry, she was just tired, it somehow made sense the more she thought about it. As her friend was taking the time to process that her only family had lied to her, Wendy took the initiative to take the memory gun from Mabel and wipe Tambry's mom's memories.
Now under a cloud after what happened, the group continued erasing memories, Mayor Taylor allowed himself to let out a small sigh of relief, Erasing memories of the blind eye cult would do nothing to stop what was coming, what they had planned. Their last member was still hidden in the crawlspace beneath the ordinary people of Gravity Falls and with the 'creatures'.
Elsewhere while at a stand, a supernatural being was selling memories to those that they encountered, until a beeping on his device sounded to alert them.
... .- / -.. . / ... ..- / ... - ... / .- -. -. / ... - ... / -.- - / -... ...-
Which translated to, "Station 1 to Station 2, there has been an S.O.S. again, there has been an S.O.S. we are down, knock out wait to continue with the plan, XOXO"
They would have to wait until it was safe again to go back to their base of operations and pick up the pieces, for the betterment of the townspeople in Gravity Falls.
Back at the museum, the group had successfully erased the memories of every last cult member, and pushed them out of the museum, on their way back inside, Tambry stopped and said she had enough adventure for the night, she wanted to go home. Robbie decided to invite her over to his place since home might feel a bit too weird for her, they were going to walk, but Nate and Lee were tired as well, and Thompson was freaked out but hadn't wanted to say anything.
"You sure you don't need me to come over too?" Wendy asked as her friends had buckled up in the van.
"Yeah, I'll be okay. Should've remembered how I felt last time we did something this crazy," Tambry chuckled, "Oh and hey, Pacifica, it was nice to meet you."
"You too Tambry."
After the group left Wendy, Mabel, Dipper, and Pacifica realized it was getting late, so instead of messing around with the memories for fun, they decided to see what was on the memory tubes that were with Pacifica. The first one that she had decided to watch was the second one she had picked up, which had her name on it, and once she put attached the tube to the computer in 'The Hall of the Forgotten' it showed Pacifica herself seated in the chair that was in the main hall, strapped down and surrounded by cult members.
"Northwest, what have you seen?"
"What is going on? Let me GO! I will sue y-MMM"
On-screen, a member from the 'council' that surrounded Pacifica put their hand over her mouth to silence her and then proceeded to inject some sort of syringe into her system to calm her down. They then repeated their question,
"Northwest, I ask again, what have you seen?"
"I-I was playing golf and like little golf people tied me up and tried to get rid of me!"
"There, there little one, you won't have to worry about that for much longer…"
*shrill shrieking*
static**
Before it could show the rest of the video, Pacifica switched the video, she wasn't sure how to feel now that she knew that little golf men had tried to kill her, but it made sense, now she could piece together why she only felt a sense of deja vu when looking back at the golf tournament she knew she had against Mabel. Another static buzz went off before the screen showed Pacifica again tied in the same spot,
Wendy, Mabel, and Dipper just stood there in silent concern for her.
"Pacifica Northwest, what is it that you have seen?"
"Who are you, weirdos?"
"Answer me Northwest, What is it that you have seen?"
*screams
On-screen Pacifica was injected with a serum again, Offscreen her countenance was getting harder for her friends to read, Dipper paused the screen to check on her and ask his friend if she was okay.
"You okay Pacifica? You know it's fine if you're not-"
"No. I'm not okay," she cut him short "but I am gonna finish the video."
She pressed play, only to be greeted by the sounds of her own screams. Screams she didn't remember, it was an odd feeling, even if she was used to not being able to keep all of her memories intact. Pacifica felt as if she was out of her body and in her body at the same time, as if here and there back and now had collided for a simple second. After shaking the feeling off to finish the second video, she thought about whether she was ready to watch the third one, she wasn't ready and knew it, Dipper said it was okay if she wasn't ready, but before she could finish that thought she got distracted from her thoughts by what she was saying on screen,
"Ugh, they wanted me to be, like, their gnome queen or whatever."
"You won't have to remember that for much longer child."
*bzzzzz
Static sounded a second time, then as the screen went black, Pacifica looked at the tube that contained her father's memories, she wanted to put it on just to prove that she could, but before anything happened she felt herself let out an involuntary whisper that the others overheard,
"ⁱᵐ ⁿᵒᵗ ʳᵉᵃᵈʸ"
Her friends didn't push her and instead walked her home, for the first couple of minutes, she felt like she had a frog in her throat,
why couldn't you just have watched the video?
But after a while, it slowly started to leave while Mabel started to recount the action that only Wendy witnessed, Wendy then told them how she and Tambry kicked some butt before having to be restrained, and Dipper mentioned to them how Pacifica's idea saved them from what could've been a nightmare.
Pacifica blushed at that comment, and under the night sky while the four of them were on their separate ways home, Maybe I could get used to this.
The rest of the summer for Pacifica was full of many adventures with the Pines twins, unnecessary blushing, and a lot of hard moments where she had to learn to let go of her ego and try to trust the people around her. Pacifica still felt the need to prove herself, even when she thought that she didn't, it was just easier for her to put walls up and distance herself from others. Dipper and Mabel were good at helping her when these problems arose, and so were Robbie, Tambry, and Wendy.
On the 21st of June, Pacifica hadn't told Mabel it was four days until her 13th, (where she would technically be a teenager) and wasn't going to say anything until they surprised her at the shack. She almost cried and had thanked her friends for doing something for her. When it was time to open presents, she was happy and although she wouldn't tell them, what they got her for her 13th, meant more to her than anything else she had gotten from her parents that year.
Wendy got her a set of glittery hot pink throwing knives that had her initials on the blades as well as a tiny llama on each handle,
"For the next time we go on a paranormal adventure," Wendy explained.
Pacifica was in awe, she had always wanted to learn how to use a weapon, her father preferred that she do fencing, but she thought it was boring, so he had taught her how to foxhunt instead. (which wasn't even fox hunting it was just chasing around Toby Determined while he was dressed in a fox outfit…) she would definitely have to hide these from her parents. They were even in her favorite color, Mabel must've told her. I just don-
"And don't worry, I'll teach you how to use them. It's the same thing as an ax just a little lighter."
"I don't know what to say… Thanks, Wendy."
"That's all you have to say! That and maybe how awesome I am."
Pacifica snickered and playfully punched her arm. Robbie had gotten her some black eyeliner and dark makeup, referencing an inside joke that nobody else got but she loved it, Tambry got her a burner phone so they could text anytime (especially when her parents grounded her for no reason), Thompson baked a cake and brought an array of deep-fried foods that she pretended to hate but had to restrain herself from eating enough to cause suspicion. Nate and Lee saved up to buy her a polaroid camera which she used to take a photo of Dipper getting smacked with a water balloon as a prank the two had set up. Candy, Grenada, and Mabel made her a journal/scrapbook that she couldn't wait to use even if it wasn't her thing, she was excited to try something new. She guessed that everyone had coordinated, Lastly, Dipper got her a vial necklace with something sparkling inside it.
"What's that?"
"Pacifica, I think you're not perfect."
Her heart sank to the floor, is that what this is about? He said that it didn't matter, what does he mean… A thousand thoughts filled her head, none of them she could register or process.
"What?" she questioned unsure if she really wanted the answer or not.
"NO, that's not what I mean… Ugh," Dipper stuttered, "I mean last summer Mabel met a really rude,"
"Is that what this is about…"
Tears had started to form in her eyes, she would not let them fall down her face and ruin her makeup in public. Northwest's don't cry… Except, it was hard to know what was okay to feel and what wasn't. She couldn't deny that even when she thought she was doing good, with her best intentions, she was still figuring herself out, somehow it always seemed like her parents had a hold on her. She wasn't perfect maybe that was okay, but -
"Pacifica, no, that's not it at all! You've been trying hard to be a better person and it shows. Last summer around Weirdmaggedon, Mabel was told to get some unicorn hair, because we had been told they only respond to people who are pure of heart, they told Mabel that she wasn't pure of heart and it led her to go and complete a list of good deeds just so she could help us, and they turned out to be lying jerks."
She didn't see the point of this story but still felt upset, even if she had been overreacting, it was hard to place what she was feeling right now, so she just stuck with confusion.
"All that to say, it may not feel like it but your hard work is paying off. No one is perfect or completely pure of heart or whatever, but I want you to know that no matter what, who you are is cool and I'm glad we met."
"Tsk, of course, you are," Pacifica sniffled facetiously while pulling him in for a brief embrace "I'm probably the only friend you have who's your age besides Mabel. Thanks Dork"
The rest of the party was great, the cake didn't get eaten as Thompson accidentally dropped it, but Soos saved the day by bringing Pizza. She was able to formally meet Ford and was amicable with both him and Stan much to his surprise. Later in the summer, she continued to go on more adventures with not only the Pines twins but Wendy and the gang, Soos, Candy, and Grenda every once in a while as well. Not as often as she would've liked as her parents didn't want her going out too much, but enough to make summer memories, spend time with her friends, figure out how to use the knives Wendy had given her, and learn more about herself as well as about Gravity Falls.
Her first Woodstick Festival was really fun, she got fake tattoos with Nate and Lee, got her hair braided by hippies with Mabel (after some coercion, and surprisingly enjoyed it), ate watermelons and spit the seeds at random people as well as talked with Dipper, purposefully ignored who she was starting to see as an older brother Robbie and his girlfriend who had been making out all day (gross), and watched Thompson get harassed by security, though not her usual first choice the experience left her with an appreciation of indie and folk music.
She and Dipper got to know each other a bit more, after a few false starts he had invited her over to watch a Ghost Harassers marathon. After hours of yelling advice and trying to categorize the ghosts as soon as they come onscreen, they found their way back to friendship, and the dorky kid that she used to think was just a lame know-it-all at the start of the summer before summer, had continued to show that he was not only a great friend, he was loyal, someone who would listen to her when she was having a hard time without judgment, even in the middle of a paranormal crisis, he would pick on her when her ego got a bit too high, keep secrets, play video games, and accepted her for who she was, even when she let her bad side come out, but a great partner to adventure with. They even had to when the two of them were trying to stop Mabel from dating a vampire perv, it made up for not being able to have contact with each other for nine months.
Pacifica started learning survival instincts and how to throw knives from Wendy, who became the cool older sister she wished she had. Pacifica also obviously spent time with Mabel, Candy, and Grenda talking about new fashion trends and the like, at sleepovers, the four of them became inseparable, but what Pacifica didn't know is that Mabel had planned a summer long campaign with Candy and Grenda, to try and get her with Dipper. Which led to Pacifica having a talk with Mabel after the annual Northwest family gathering, which Preston manipulated McGucket into holding at the manor. The trio's efforts to engineer a romantic evening were not subtle, and all they really result in is dire humiliation, three small fires, and half a dozen very angry quails. Mabel ended up apologizing to Pacifica for the whole fiasco, explaining that since she thought that even if she never ended up finding love, she could at least find it for her brother and her best friend. Pacifica was honored to be considered her best friend and forgives her on the condition that she never tries to meddle in her love life ever again. Mabel agrees, And just as she's walking away, Pacifica calls, "And Mabel? Thanks for trying". Accomplishing that although not a couple, the two of them realize and accept the true nature of their feelings for one another.
She also hung out with Robbie and Tambry more often.
Before she knew it, the summer was over, and she was saying goodbye to Dipper and Mabel. Ford had given the two of them new phones so that they could stay in contact with him and Stan while they were on adventures across the world. Tearing up and blaming allergies during their departure. She gave them both hugs and after exchanging numbers with Dipper, making them swear to stay in contact, she almost bribed them to stay. It was hard to watch them leave a second time, she knew they would be back again the next summer, and it just hurt. Before she knew it, the school year had started and she was a freshman in high school. She and Candy had different classes and she missed Grenda, they still all made time to spend time with each other outside of school, but it wasn't the same. The social highlight of her days was usually lunch, as she didn't mind school that much. The year went by really slowly, and she was upset that Robbie, Nate, and Lee were graduating that year, Thompson had graduated the year before, and the year after was when Wendy and Tambry were graduating. Ughhhh this is so frustrating! It's not like she was gonna stop hanging out with them; she just liked seeing them at school. She was also frustrated because it had been harder that year to stay in contact with the twins, particularly Dipper, again because of school. But hopefully it wouldn't drift them apart.
It was mid-February when she was at the Greasy's Diner with Grenda, Wendy was at home with her family, Nate, Lee, and Thompson were at 'The Royal Ragtime Theatre' where they worked, and Robbie was at band practice with Tambry, she hadn't hung out with Grenda in a while, and Candy would've been there if not for a family emergency. The subject had changed from boys to discussing how they needed jobs.
"I mean, like, not only would it help me try to get a bit of independence before I try to get emancipated from my parents, but the extra cash could go into the savings account they have for me."
"The only thing is, we don't know who's hiring, I mean I'm not looking for one personally, Marius usually buys me what I want or too much that I end up making money, but if you want I'll help you look," Grenda said while chomping on her waffles.
Pacifica offered her a thankful smile, and thought about places that were hiring, she wouldn't be fit to work at the theatre or the mall. That left only one option, Greasy's diner. Lazy Susan seemed like a good person to work with if not a bit strange and ditzy.
Speak of the devil.
As soon as Pacifica had finished that thought, Lazy Susan had come over to their table to give them the check. Which led Grenda to ask Lazy Susan if they were still hiring.
"Why yes, we are! Do one of you two cuties want to apply?"
"Um, yes. I would like to work here." Pacifica said with a hint of nervousness, she didn't usually get nervous but this would be the first time she ever had a job. Who wouldn't be nervous?
"Okay! Just answer three questions for me and I'll let you know."
"Alright."
"One, do you have any experience? Two, are you good with people, and three, do you like the color pink?"
"No, depend, and yes?"
"Perfect! Come tomorrow after school and we can get into the details! This is gonna be fun!"
"…."
"Yay Pacifica!"
The next day after school, Pacifica discussed salary and schedule with her new boss, Lazy Susan. She didn't say it out loud but she didn't think that the money she would be making was a livable wage for anyone. How did people live like this? She was handed a pink uniform and after some training and a lot of questions, she was sent to work as a waitress at Greasy's Diner. Her friends went to encourage her on her first day and would come in every once in a while when they knew she was on schedule and could get them some fry bits or free food. It was harder than she thought it would be, and some of the customers could be really mean, not that she let it get to her. After a couple of months of hard work, the position of assistant manager had opened up recently too, and she applied not only because of the change in pay but also because she liked the idea of bossing people around.
Pacifica did have her doubts, insecurities, or a combination of intrusive thoughts that came in every once in a while, that tried to make her feel as though she was inadequate at her job, or unfit, but she never really paid it too much attention though. The only time she thought about it was when she overheard her parents arguing with each other. That was all they ever seemed to do nowadays, it got old quickly. She wished they just got a divorce already, but that wasn't the way things were done in their family, because they weren't making as much money as they used to, it would look way worse to all the other influential and/or rich families if they split. This time she was the subject of the argument,
"Priscilla, contrary to what you may think, I have everything under control."
"Preston, You don't even know how to control your own daughter! Pacifica has no idea what she's doing in life, I mean she started working at a diner as some sort of rebellion, she's failing at life before she even starts. "
"But I'm one step ahead of that because it won't take long for her to realize that she needs us."
Pacifica had stopped listening, that's where they were wrong, she would never need them again once she learned how to be self-sufficient she would keep working and eventually emancipate herself from them so that she could be free and they wouldn't be able to say a thing. The only thing was that she had felt like she was failing at life, and they were right, she didn't know what she was doing. The following day, Pacifica had a shift that went from 2:30 pm til 10:30 pm, it was a Friday night. The day was slow and it wasn't until the last couple of hours of that shift that she felt the argument from the night before, circulating in her mind and weighing down on her. They closed a bit early at 9:15.
She could feel a heavy cloud surrounding her, as she finished her closing chores, everyone else had gone home, it was just her and Lazy Susan.
I feel bad… Maybe I should just tell her so that I can get it over with.
"Um… Lazy Susan?" the older woman looked to the younger girl who had spoken.
"I kind of have a confession to make…"
"What is it? I hope everything is okay!"
"I actually don't know, I overheard my parents in an argument the other day, and y'know I never care about what they have to say, but this time I realized and felt like what they said was half-true, I don't know what I'm doing. I'm sorry."
…
"I know!"
"Wait what?"
"I know you don't know what you're doing, I've known since you started working here."
"So, you're not upset?"
"Oh, Pacifica! Of course not. Why would I be? I don't know what I'm doing half the time but things turn out okay anyway. Don't listen to that trouble, nobody knows what they're doing! We just try our best and see what happens. Plus it's not like you have to know what you're doing to be the new assistant manager!"
"I got the promotion?!"
The rest of the night she and Lazy Susan stayed at the diner until 10:30 celebrating by eating pie, singing old songs, and dancing. It wasn't something she would have normally done but her boss insisted that they sing and dance to celebrate, after a while, Pacifica felt like it was okay to let herself do what she felt like doing, either because it was a long time coming or due to the fact that no one else was watching, she had fun. Pacifica was proving to her parents that not only did she not have to worry about having it all figured out but she didn't have to care about what they said about her, or anyone else, she got promoted by working hard and it should be celebrated.
On the other hand, school had been getting harder for Pacifica, as the realization of how the person she adopted as her older brother was graduating. After a while of inside jokes and hanging out the two had gotten close, Robbie showed her his love for writing music and playing guitar, and she showed him, or rather he found out about her secret obsession with the game BloodCraft: Overdeath and they started playing it nonstop for a whole weekend while hanging out with him and Tambry. She was surprised that her parents didn't say anything and that Tambry had put up with their shenanigans for that long. She was a level 100 while Robbie was stuck at level 89.
She was invited to watch her friends graduate and was surprised when she realized how happy she was for them, it was bittersweet and Robbie made a point to let his 'little sister' know that even if they didn't see each other at school every day, it didn't mean that they didn't care about one another. It meant a lot to her, more than she would admit, but they all knew.
Monday, June 23rd, 2014
Pacifica woke up after sleeping in, she had decided that before Dipper and Mabel came into town she was going to finally see what was on her father's memory tube. It was a big step and she didn't have to prove anything to anyone including herself by watching it, she just wanted to know. Tambry, Robbie, and Wendy had promised that they were going to be there for her while she did it for support. Like ripping off a bandaid. Let's get this over with.
After getting dressed and brushing her teeth, Pacifica grabbed her backpack that had her knives, journal, camera, survival kit, and some snacks, just in case, and put on her favorite necklace that Dipper had given her for her birthday. She then waited a couple of minutes before hearing some gravel being thrown at her window, the security system at her house had downgraded so no alarms went off when the rocks hit her window or when she climbed out of the window to get into the truck that Wendy had borrowed from Soos who was busy at the shack. Pacifica climbed in the front seat next to her.
"To the weird cult under the museum"
5 minutes later and the four of them had parked in front of what used to be a not so ominous building. Tambry had decided to stay in the car, her mind still on what had happened last summer. Robbie offered to stay with her but the look she shot back made him withdraw the offer, he got the message and put his hands up in defense. He respected that she also didn't want to talk about it, and didn't push her to, she would talk to him about it when she was ready. Wendy also offered to stay in the car, and Tambry was a bit tamer with her, but still refused, and made it clear that she was staying inside of the truck.
As the trio was walking into the museum, they realized that they hadn't thought about what they were going to do in order to get underneath the building undetected and that they might have to cause a distraction in order to not cause panic among the residents of Gravity Falls who were currently engrossed in the museum. Wendy volunteered, took off her flannel jacket, and started to cause a ruckus so that her friends could do what needed to be done. Pacifica tried to figure out what to do to get everyone out of the room so that they could go underneath the building one last time. Oh, I know!
"Guys there's a historical moment happening just outside this room! Hurry and see if you can video it for credit"
Every tourist that had been in the room full of eyeballs fled out of the room in haste so that they could not only witness but record whatever historical event they believed to be happening.
"Good job!"
"Thanks, Robbie. Hurry, let's go downstairs before they come back."
As they were on their way into the main room to try and get to 'The Hall of The Forgotten' before anything happened upstairs that would lead someone down to where they were, Pacifica stopped next to what looked like the doorway of a hidden room, she could see that in between the cracks there was some sort of glowing green light. She was smart enough to know that trying to open it wasn't a good idea especially after going on as many paranormal adventures as she had. Curiosity got the best of her though and so Pacifica decided to give herself at least one try to get into the room before turning back around to finish what they came here to do in the first place. Opening the door turned out to be surprisingly easy, and right next to her she could hear Robbie trying to pull her away.
"PAZ" he hissed, "Another time! Right now we have to go before we get arrested or something."
"I just want to see something then we can go!"
"We don't have time, now let's go before-"
The door opened and Pacifica stood still as if she had seen a ghost, Robbie was beyond confused and his heart was beating fast. The old him wouldn't have cared about his friends this much that he would risk his safety or hurry himself to do something, the old him wouldn't have been a good enough friend to be there for anyone. This was someone he considered his little sister though, and wendy was his friend. Also, his girlfriend was in the car and he didn't want to make her wait too long. He gave Pacifica a confused look before he realized that she wasn't the one that opened the door.
Before Robbie could have a chance to turn around, he felt a sharp pull on his hoodie that took him into the secret room, both he and Pacifica were on the floor in the middle of the small room, he couldn't see much, other than a table that had some lab supplies and objects of it, the floor was covered in scattered blueprints, and a green, humming portal was open in the middle of it all, the light of which hid the face of a tall and ominous robed figure, What is going on?
"Who are you?"
The figure removed the hood and it was revealed to be Tad Strange, the most ordinary person in Gravity Falls. What is going on? Apparently, they hadn't erased the memories of every cult member. As Robbie tried to piece together what was going on, The man decided to explain.
"You know who I am, but what you don't know is my mission," Tad replied "After Weirdmaggedon, Mayor Tyler CuteBiker put into place a policy you both know as, 'Never Mind All That', it was effective for a while, but it couldn't… erase, the heart of the problem. You see Weirdness was still all around us, and since the cult 'The Blind Eye' was no longer around to keep its townspeople ignorant of the madness around them, we along with a select few, had decided to take the task upon ourselves, with the blueprints from old man McGucket, we were unstoppable,"
Both Pacifica and Robbie were too stunned to speak and glanced at each other, Robbie gave her a look that said why did you do this. While Pacifica gave him an apologetic look that said I'm sorry I screwed up.
"But along the way, we discovered a new option outside of the memory gun, called a portal. It gave us the idea to get rid of all the unnecessary weirdness in Gravity Falls. The blueprints explained in great detail how this portal gun would be used. But soon enough neither of you will remember that, not to mention your own names."
As Tad finished up his really long monologue, he went to grab the memory gun from his jacket but was tackled by Robbie, prompting Pacifica to put down her father's memory tube and grab the portal gun from the table and try and help Robbie in his struggle. As their struggle intensified, all of the blueprints in the room suddenly started to go into the portal, Robbie had the advantage of being on top but Tad was stronger and worked out. Right as Pacifica came up behind the two who were struggling on the floor, Tad kicked the two of them into the open portal, and into the unknown. Not knowing that they had the portal gun with them and that the blueprints were missing.
Pacifica awoke to darkness, her head was spinning and she felt a strong sense of deja vu, it took a second for her to be able to sit up but when she did, she saw that both she and Robbie ( who was knocked unconscious by the fall ) were in a large and dark underground room of some kind, something about it seemed very familiar, though she couldn't place it. Pieces of a dismembered machine, as well as a number of electronic devices and computers were in the room with her, and she could see a desk with several books, in the conjoining room next to them.
"Robbie, Robbie… ROBBIE!"
"UNGH! What's up? Are you okay? Are we safe?"
"I think so, we got away from him, I just don't know where we are."
"Pacifica what were you thinking?!"
"I don't know! I just- I don't know okay? Can we leave it at that?"
"Whatever. As long as you're okay. We just have to figure out where we are and if he didn't kidnap us for torture or something."
"Robbie, don't be so dramatic we're probably just stuck in another weird room."
As they started to look and inspect where they were, Pacifica thought she heard the sound of an elevator in the room next to where they were, and when she turned to where the sound had come from, the sight that greeted her was strange. An older woman who wearing a fez with brown eyes, and red lipstick in a purple pantsuit that seemed to sparkle a bit in the fluorescent light, was standing next to an older man dressed in a dark trench coat, who had thick grey hair covering his forehead, and a navy blue book peeking out of his knapsack, that seemed to resemble the older lady almost like a twin. Both the man and the woman were in battle stances, she had two grappling hooks and the man had what looked like a ray gun.
As Pacifica started to inch closer to Robbie, the man said,
"You! Take off the backpack and slide it over now."
Pacifica did as told, she didn't know these people or what their intentions were, but they felt familiar, she didn't give in to those sentiments for all she knew they were crazy and wanted to hurt her and Robbie. The last thing we need is more cultists, these two aren't even wearing their robes…
"Good, now, who are you, and what are you doing here?" The man said as he rummaged through Pacificas things.
Robbie looked at Pacifica, he really hoped that she wouldn't try to be snippy or sarcastic about it, she had gotten them in enough trouble today, and he would like to keep his memories. As for Pacifica she had enough with this, she didn't know why this room or these two random strangers felt so familiar to her but it wouldn't stop her from being straightforward.
"Like I'll tell you. Why do you even care? My dad set you up on this?"
"Kid, we care because this is our home, and you both are trespassing… Now, we're gonna ask you again, what are you two doing here." the older woman asked as the man next to her continued to rummage through her belongings and stopped for a second. He picked up the picture that was taken on her birthday, the one of her friend getting hit by a water balloon.
"Psh yeah right.
