Bertrand rushed to get Sonny ready for the injection. Two other rebels were heling him. Bertrand put a respirator on him as well, as he injected Sonny. Despite this being a large Despite having been told everything was going to be fine, Bennett was still worried. Right If they lost Sonny... He didn't let himself finish the thought.
His brother knew what they were doing, he should trust him.
"Hang in there, Sonny, we got you." He said as he injected some Life Force into Sonnys arm. It caused a small jolt through Sonny's body. Bertrand nodded. This was a normal reaction. They first had to see his reactions to the first dose. And after a second dose, things would be alright.
Bennett and Micro Ice stood back as some medics tended to Sonny. Bertrand kept a close eye on him as well.
"If there's no change in two hours, prepare The Chamber." Bertrand ordered as he wrote something down. He turned to Bennett and Micro Ice.
"I'll keep an eye on him. Cody will take you to the barracks. I'll let you know if anything changes." He said.
Micro Ice and Bennett nodded, a young man with blonde hair, yellow eyes and a beard joined them.
"You asked for me?" He said.
Bertrand nodded.
"Get these two some beds." He said.
Bennett looked at his brother.
"Are you sure he'll be alright? People will freak out if anything happens to him." He said.
Bertrand just smiled.
"I'll keep you posted. Right now, he's doing fine. You can tell people that. Just get some rest, little brother. Things will be better when you wake up. You're both safe here." He said.
Micro Ice touched Sonny's hand for a moment.
"He feels very cold, is that normal?" He asked, sounding worried.
Bertrand turned to him.
"Yes, that's normal for Flux exhaustion. The Life Force I gave him should help." Bertrand said, as he stood up to check the monitors that kept track of Sonny's vitals.
Micro Ice nodded.
"Didn't know you were a doctor." Bennett said.
Bertrand turned to his younger brother.
"I'm not. I just know a lot about Flux. It's why I'm a Master." Bertrand said, sounding stern.
Bennett nodded.
"Micro Ice, keep an eye on Sonny, I need to inform Corso."

The Black Manta was going at full speed. Corso had a knot in his stomach he couldn't quite explain. He needed to get to Sonny. Fast.
"Corso, Bennett is on the secure line." Artie said.
Corso could tell from Artie's face that something wasn't right.
"Put him through." He said.
As Bennett's face appeared, Corso had a sinking feeling.
"Report." He said.
Bennett looked uncomfortable.
"We found Sonny is freed now. He's still alive, but very weak. He needs a good amount of rest." He managed.
"Explain. Sonny is one of the strongest people I know. If they hurt him in any way.." Corso demanded, a dangerous edge in his voice.
Bertrand appeared on-screen with Bennett. A smile flashed on his face as he recognized the chissian survivor of Platoon 33.
"Calm down Corso, he's going to be fine. Sonny exhausted his Flux to protect Micro needs to recover from that. Flux exhaustion can be a brutal experience the first time. Sonnys reasons for doing it are as noble as it gets. He is a true leader and more than worthy of his Flux master title. He just didnt know this would happen. He is receiving care here at Rebel base, from people that knows how to deal with this. I also gave him some Life Force. Its a powerful booster, made to combat exactly FFlux exhaustion. For now, Sonny has received the first dose. His reactions are well within normal. We will observe him for a while, to see the effect. Maybe he'll need two doses, it's too early to tell. But for now, he is being kept an eye on, and he is doing fine" Bertrand informed.
This calmed Corso down as he took a deep breath.
"Take good care of him, we should arrive in four hours."

Dame Simbai was upset when Bertrand contacted her to tell what had happened to Sonny. Not to mention concerned about what he discovered with Sonny having a dual flux. Sonny had till now, if he knew, not used it, and if he had, he needed to be trained in how to handle it. They needed to learn more about this, about how Dual Flux exhausted him and to what level, so they could develop strategies to was their formost expert in the field of flux, they needed his expertise. As things were, they were very ill equipped to deal with this. Maybe Brim Balarius could help. Dame Simbai felt insecure about this formula called Life Force. Bertrand didn't divulge in what it was made of. He held something back. She would have to look into that later. For now, Sonny was at least in good hands and receiving care. Bertrand promised to update her as soon as Sonny was doing better.
Dame Simbai thought for a minute.
She needed to speak to Brim Balarius about all this, maybe he knew more.

As soon as The Black Manta landed and docked, Corso and Callie went to find Bennett. Corso looked around the Base. It reminded him of Shiloh City. Bertrand exited the cave and met up with them.
"You two must be Corso and Callie. Sonny is still asleep, but I think it will be good for him to have you around." He said.
Corso nodded as he entered the cave along with Callie. Bennett guided them to Sonny.
Bertrand made room for him and Callie to sit next to Sonny as they entered the cave. They both looked worried.
"Sonny.." Corso gently whispered.
Callie held back some tears as she sat down and took Sonnys hand.
Corso carefully kissed him, before turning to Bertrand.
"How is he doing?" He managed.
"He's doing well, especially now that you two are with him. All he needs, is rest." Bertrand said.
Bertrand was about to leave, when he saw Corso's hands shake ever so slightly.
That was a sign of Flux Leak, something that happened to Flux users when under extreme stress.
"Corso, can I speak to you in private?"

Warren opened the door to the lab where Clamp was working. Dame Simbai asked him to check on the progress of the cure for the noticed someone else in the lab. He knew him as Professor Benson. This professor was asked by Duke Maddox to assist with the Resonance research.
"This will speed up the work for a cure." Clamp said.
The other man beamed with pride.
"Why thank you, Professor Clamp. I couldn't do it without you. I wish Sonny was as trusting." He sighed.
Clamp nodded, but felt somewhat suspicious.
Sonny distrusted this man for a reason. For now, he should just go along, though.

"Sonny is just being careful. Give him some time to warm up to you." Clamp said.
That was when he noticed Warren.
"Glad to see you. We have a good lead towards a cure for the Resonance, thanks to Professor Benson." He said.
Warren smiled.
"That's good news. I have four players among my students that could use it." He said.
Professor Benson stepped in.
"I have something. A formula to boost energy in weakened players. It was developed in conjunction with some colleagues from Abraxor. It is called Life Force."

Corso looked serious as Bertrand filled him in on what he saw. No point in trying to hide that he had two Fluxes.
"Gaia is healing, and has grown stronger. It works well with The Seed." Bertrand explained.
Corso nodded.
"So, now what? Do I have to pick one?" Corso asked.
Bertrand smiled.
"You don't need to." Bertrand said. "Though, Sonny might want to know this. He too has dual flux, this is something the two of you can work on together, strenghtening, and using for something good. Dual Flux isnt bad, its a sign of strenght if anything" he said.
Corso nodded.
"I'm sure we all have a lot to talk about with him when he wakes up." Corso said.
Bertrand decided to put it to rest for now. At least until Sonny was recovered.
"I have a suggestion, if you're up for it."

It was late at night on Genesis. Clamp had been up all night, keeping a close eye on the new mix. The unknown strain was just what it needed. It increased all important components by almost half. The next step would be human trials. Clamp was about ready to log out for the day, when his eye caught a reaction inside the tube. It made his eyes widen in shock. He's seen this before.
"No… that's impossible!"

What did Clamp see? What is Life Force? Will Corso learn to tackle the gift of having two fluxes? And what will the pirates and the rebels find when they start to break into the Abraxian military files?
