Ta'Nahk looked at the plans. What Corso and his team did put them behind also exposed the flaw in their servants. They tried to tap into Corso's brain waves, and failed. He was prepared. And with the stolen components, they now had a major advantage. They needed to act NOW.
He asked for his second in command to enter the room.
"Activate the robot armies all over. We'll start the march against our targets, to keep them occupied. They'll regret even trying."
Everyone was busy, carrying out their duties. Artie was left in charge of hacking, along with his father. Solaris and Zoltar were preparing for battle, as did all other planets. The Resonance cure was handed out as soon as Sonny and Clamp could get it ready. Soon, plenty of people were given it.
Dame Simbai and Brim Balarius were in charge of the distribution. It took their minds off the horrible things that happened at the Flux Circle and freed up some time for Sonny. Or so he thought. Most Flux Masters were out of practice and they needed training and they were joined by Bertrand.
"Tell me, how many of you have the ability to use Dual Flux?" He asked during one of the training sessions.
Sinedd, Sonny, Corso,Yuki, Warren and Luur raised their hands.
Bertrand nodded.
"D'Jok, I need you to lead the group that does not have dual flux." He said.
D'Jok nodded and led the group he was in charge of to a different part of the building.
"Why did you do that?" Rocket asked.
D'Jok looked at them.
"They need different training from us." He said. "And like this we can concentrate on our own stuff."
The group nodded as they got to work.
Bertrand was drilling the Dual Fluxers. After a while, Warren and Luur needed a rest, still recovering from the Resonance. Sinedd and Yuki worked well together. Sinedd had truly grown, and mastered the two Fluxes. Yuki was also strong and solid. Sonny however, was impressed to see Corso handle Gaia and The seed of Shiloh.
It was time for him to use the breath of Akillian in combination with The seed of Shiloh. It worked. Bertrand nodded.
"Good work Sonny. Now, I want you to use it as a shield. Corso, you attack with both Fluxes to see if Sonny can handle it." He instructed.
Corso nodded as he used Gaia and The Seed at the same time.
Sonny quickly formed a shield with The Seed, but Gaia went through it. That wasn't right. Gaia was said to be weaker. Had to be The Seed. Sonny combined it with The Breath. This one held.
"Nice work with Gaia. I see you found some time to train." He said.
Corso nodded proudly.
The Pirates tried to delay the inevitable. And for a while, they succeeded. But the Andro Zygnians had their own ways to repair things. Even without the scientists they held captive for years. They couldn't use Craig Benson anymore, since his cover was blown wide open. To get close to the Pirates would prove difficult. Their spies on Genesis reported the heightened security. They needed a diversion.
Ta'Nahk looked at the papers in front of him. They had an emergency plan ready. He called his second in command to his office. Once the Andro Zygnian, now in his true solid form, entered, Ta'Nahk handed him his orders.
His second in command nodded, a grin spreading on his face. This would make things much easier.
Micro Ice was nervous when he called his mother. So much had changed since he was forced to leave Akillian in a hurry. Did his mom know all of it? Did she know Corso was his uncle? There were so many questions.
"Micro Ice! This is a surprise. I thought you had forgotten about me" Mom Ice said once she responded.
"About that, I need to ask you a few things." Micro Ice said, feeling very uncomfortable all of a sudden.
"This sounds serious. It wouldn't have anything to do with the story Callie called me about, now would it?" She asked.
Micro Ice nodded.
"Callie and Artie found him. They found my real dad." He said.
Mom Ice looked confused.
"Come again?" She said,
Micro Ice heard a knock on the door.
"It's open." He said.
As the door opened, Corso and his father walked in.
"Let's talk," said Kuun.
Mom Ice was teary eyed.
"Kuun…" She said,
Kuun nodded. Micro Ice felt his uncle's hand on his shoulder.
"Why don't you come with me? I think your parents need a moment." He suggested.
Micro Ice nodded.
"We'll talk later mom." He said.
Mom Ice smiled. For the first time in forever, he noticed how tired she looked.
"Sure Mice. You go with your uncle." She said.
Micro Ice nodded, and let Corso lead him out.
D'Jok hated paperwork. Even if Artie had been mission leader, he still had to file his own report without his input.
Eventually, D'Jok decided to call Rocket and the other Snow Kids to see if any of them were up for fun. Soon enough, he headed over to Thran and Ahito to play video games.
Callie was at the station to help her replacement with their job. Her co-workers flocked around her as she pushed the stroller.
"Oh Callie, they are such angels. Who's the dad?" Zoey, one of her colleagues, asked.
Callie smiled.
"Both." She said as Adrienne started to cry.
"It's okay, mom's here." She said as she lifted her out of the stroller.
Zoey looked at her.
"Are you sure? She has blue eyes. Neither of you has those." She commented.
Callie smiled.
"Sonny's wearing colored real eye colour matches Adriennes" Callie said.
Zoey smiled.
"By the way, Aaron wants to see you." She said.
Callie nodded.
As soon as Adrienne fell back to sleep, Callie went to Aaron's office.
Sonny finished reading D'Joks report. His son really had an eye for detail. Artie could be sloppy. Maybe they'd be well suited for a team.
He looked at the images that D'Jok had sent. That ship! He'd seen it before. It was the same ship Corso had photographed on Akillian when he went to rescue Micro Ice. The Andro Zygna flagship. That couldn't be good. Sonny used a magnifier tool to zoom in on it. If he could get the identification code, he could put out an alert for them. Then, he noticed the image of the tank with the turquoise liquid inside.
Sonny felt his blood run cold. Flux.
He needed help. He quickly called Bertrand Ehrwholer.
Sonny looked serious as he pulled up the pictures he had on a big screen. Bennett had come with his brother, since he stayed at Bennetts place. Brim Balarius had also been called. He looked at the images.
"This is very concerning. You say your son took these at a prison colony?" He asked.
Sonny nodded.
"I'm afraid so, Grandmaster. An unknown Flux." He answered.
Brim Balarius studied the container. He noticed a man standing at the loading ramp. He knew this man. His handler, his puppeteer. He was probably looking for him. This insane plan had to be stopped. He just didn't know how to do it.
The vessel that carried Warlord Ta'Nahk. A ruthless warrior, known in the Andro Zygna galaxy, as a tyrant and killer. He had been hiding on Akillian, getting the big supplies of Mice delight that Sonny had told them about, and was supplying his armies with Technoid robots from Duke Maddox.
Brim Balarius sighed.
"Sonny, do you know Ta'Nahk?" He asked.
Sonny nodded.
"We heard of him." He said.
Corso nodded.
"There are a few issues we need to address. We need to interrogate the scientists. Bennett, assemble a team, and go through the computer files. I want to know everything. Bertrand, for now, I need you to continue to train the Flux Masters and and the others, we need as many strong Flux Users as we can get.
Artie will make an evacuation plan with D'Jok. GrandMaster, I will be needing your help with the next plan. None of us can rest easy, until we have Craig Benson in custody. He's far more dangerous than I initially thought. We need to lure him out." He said.
Brim Balarius nodded.
"What if that fails?" He asked.
"All we can do is hope that it does work."
This is heading into a dark direction. Let's hope the preparations work and a war can be averted.
