Gruetly Bay Farm Life
Season one Episode five: A Bark Brigade Leader
Rock music started playing for the opening theme, and after a couple seconds, Lucky was shown to be skateboarding out of the barn with a confident smile. "London to Gruetly Bay is kind of a big change! (Patch is shown to be drawing something while sitting under a tree and hi fiving Lucky as he skates by) But Lucky's gonna take it on cause the mission's in range! (Two-tone is shown to be helping the pink pig from the intro with a dress as she waves to Lucky as he skates by) He and his friends are ready for whatever comes their way! (Rolly is shown to be reading a cooking magazine while giving a thumbs up to Lucky as he passes by) And they'll be by each other's side every day!"
Lucky is then shown to be talking to Roxie with the two showing clear feelings for one another. "Romance, (Lucky is shown to be punching a ferret that tries to attack him) action, (Lucky and his friends are shown to be various activities in the Bark Brigade) it doesn't matter! They're gonna work hard to make it better! (Lucky is shown to be punching Mooch right in the jaw) Bullies, (Lucky is shown to be struggling to sit through one of Tibbs' lectures) boredom, they can get through it! (Lucky is shown to be admiring his butt in a mirror before he jumps out the window) And Lucky is the leader who's gonna become most fit!"
The song then finished with the song finishing in an epic rock fashion as Lucky skateboards down the ladder to the window of the barn's top floor. "He's skateboard packed and ego charged! (Lucky is shown giving a sly grin and finger bang to some nearby animals who're annoyed by his ego) Cocky bugger livin' large! (Lucky spots Cruella about to hit one of his siblings) But when danger comes a knockin'; (Lucky saves his sibling and gets out of the way) he's ready for nose popping!"
Lucky and his friends then do their own individual poses with Lucky doing a peace sign, Patch giving a cheerful smile, Two-tone giving a friendly wave, and Rolly patting his stomach. "He's ready to get through the strife, (Lucky and his friends are seen spotting something in the distance) in his new Gruetly Bay Farm, Life!" The screen blows up with it then showing Lucky trying to lead his brigade while struggling with Blake and Spot; Blake because he's struggling to pay attention, and Spot because she seems to lack proper coordination, making him face palm.
The Bark Brigade students were all lined up in their usual side by side row as Lucky and Patch were shown talking. The two once again, were enjoying each other's company, and the two were seemingly talking about today's assignment. "Pug's probably gonna be whining about the fact that dogs and cats get along now."
"What's his problem about that anyway?" Patch asked, and he then pulled out his sketchbook as he revealed a sketch he made of Pug and Tibbs hugging. "I think he and Tibbs could be really good friends if he could just drop his prejudices."
Lucky did like the idea of Tibbs and Pug getting along, and the Brigade students were then greeted by Colonel, who arrived with Tibbs and Pug. "Good morning Bark Brigade cadets! Patch, please put your sketchbook away for later." Patch obliged, "Thank you." and Colonel then got to the task at hand. "Now then. Many of you may not be aware of this, so allow me to inform you all. We have a big test coming up for all of you in the future, and even if you're the lowest ranked of the cadets, excelling in this test will help you become the Top Dog for all of the Bark Brigade cadets!"
Everyone found that to sound incredibly appealing, and Colonel then went on to explain more. "We'll have some training exercises to help you prepare for that day, only for these exercises, the Bark Brigade cadet leader in your group will be guiding you through the course themselves." Lucky found that to be exciting, believing that he was more than capable of being a leader. "And we have something else in mind for the end of the year for the best candidate."
Lucky raised his paw as he asked what the prize was. "Is it a documentary on why my butt makes the ladies swoon faster than Woody with Bo Peep?"
Some of the students started laughing at Lucky's joke with Colonel chuckling a bit as he explained what it was. "No Lucky. Instead, the top dog of this year, will become the next Deputy of the Bark Brigade!" Lucky liked the sound of that. "Just make sure to take the position seriously."
"As long as I don't have to be a racist like Pug, I will." Lucky commented, and the students all started laughing at his jab at Pug with the Lieutenant growling at him, which he ignored for the sake of accepting his fandom.
Lucky was at the training field with all of the other cadets as he observed how the rest of his Brigade were doing with training. He instantly took notice to how Blake stopped his run on the pull up bar after his thirteenth one when he saw a butterfly passing by and became amazed by it. "Oooh. Pretty."
Lucky sighed when he saw this and went over to Blake to remind him to focus. "Blake, (Blake looks at Lucky) try to stay focused, okay? We gotta give it our all for the test."
"Right. Sorry Lucky." Blake went back to his pull ups at a really fast pace, and Lucky then went over to Patch, who was testing his speed with the rock climbing segment.
Lucky was glad to see Patch making some decent time compared to before and went onto the other side as he came down. "Nice moving Patch! Keep it up!" Patch gave a thumbs up to Lucky as the latter then went over to Roxie, who was just finishing her run on the monkey bar crossing.
Once Roxie hopped down, she pointed out how much of a blood rush she was getting from all the exercise. "This is what I live for Lucky. Anything that can get my blood pumping, whether it's music or feeling the burn from exercise."
"I noticed." Lucky replied, and then he started observing Roxie sweat, trying to hide that he was watching it. "I can see the appeal of introverts and extroverts equally." Lucky then shook the thought of Roxie's sweat off his mind and got back to checking on the others. "Anyway, I should check on the others now." Roxie nodded in response, and he went to check on Two-tone, who was currently attempting to lift a twenty five pound dumbbell, which was a little higher than her previous record at twenty. As she tried to lift it as Lucky went over, after five seconds of struggle...
PFFFFFFFFFFT
...a loud and bassy five second fart of moldy bananas, making her flinch as her butt vibrated and she blushed from the expulsion. She then put the dumbbell on and turned to Lucky, who was thankfully out of the butt blast and just wafted it away as Two-tone looked at him. "Sorry Lucky. I guess my breakfast hadn't fully digested yet."
"Just make sure to fart in Mooch's face later when you get the chance." Lucky joked, leaving Two-tone to roll her eyes while smiling, as she knew Lucky was just trying to help her feel better. "I'm gonna go check on Rolly and Spot now." Two-tone went back to picking up the dumbbell after that, changing it to twenty pounds before hand so she could let her food digest properly before going further than she already could. She also hoped she wouldn't end up directly farting in someone's face like she almost did with Lucky.
Lucky went off to find Rolly and Spot by the tire stepping segment with both of them having their own struggles. Rolly, being the fat puppy that he was, was short on breath. With Spot, she didn't have the best coordination with this sort of thing. Lucky was okay with having a chicken on his team, but he WASN'T okay with having one with bad coordination, and he made that clear when he walked up to Spot. "Spot, I don't wanna be rude, but if you could get your coordination in order and stop stumbling halfway over the tire segment, that'd be great."
"I'll try Lucky." Spot assured Lucky, wanting to be the best Bark Brigade cadet she could be. "I'm just not used to all of these dog activities. Even though I'm ironically more like a dog in terms of behavior than I am a chicken. Sometimes I wonder if I'm both!"
"You can be as species fluid as you want and I won't judge; just do your best and forget the rest." Lucky informed Spot, and then he chuckled a bit as he stated where he got that from. "My aunt Wave says that to her cousins all the time." Spot liked that sentiment with Lucky then heading over to Rolly, who started lying down after he finished his tire segment. "Listen Rolly. I know you can't control how much breath you lose since you're fat, but you could at least try to be one of those heavy characters who can work out."
Rolly wiped the sweat from his forehead as he brought up what he felt the main issue was with his athleticism. "I think my gut gets in the way for when I'm not losing breath. Maybe tucking it up would help?"
"Try working on both." Lucky advised Rolly, and he walked off to check on Blake again, and this time, he saw the German Shepherd was now watching a bird sing. This made Lucky sigh with annoyance as he called Blake out on it. "Blake!" Blake instantly turned to Lucky with a beaming smile, and then he noticed Lucky's annoyed look, which made him look worried. "I know life is interesting, but please, try to stay focused." Blake hung his head with guilt as he walked back with Lucky, who sighed about something that happened off screen. "Now I know why Melinda said to watch you."
Blake became interested in that comment and felt it wouldn't hurt to ask why. "Did she say anything after that?"
"Nah, Mooch started bullying one of Tripod's cadets while he was helping another somewhere else, so she had to step in before then." Lucky then realized that he probably should ask Melinda to evaluate on that later on. "Yeah, I should ask her what she was trying to say when we're both free.
That afternoon after Bark Brigade school, Lucky was talking to Melinda, who was doing push ups in front of her house as she spoke up about that. "Yeah, sorry about that. If it didn't happen so abruptly I would've told you more after it was done." Lucky understood what Melinda was getting at as the German Shepherd then she asked Lucky a question. "Have you ever heard of ADHD?"
Lucky thought about that for a moment, having some kind of idea as to what that was. "I think so. That's the one that makes you look like an idiot, right?"
Melinda showed a sign of annoyance, but kept her desire to lash out hidden, since she knew Lucky's question wasn't out of rudeness. "Something like that." Melinda continued her push ups as she explained what it was all about. "The full name is Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. As you can tell from the name alone, those who have it also have hyperactivity. They can also have limited attention, which I'm sure you've noticed by now."
"About five times today, yeah." Lucky assured Melinda, and then he informed her that he also had the hyperactivity down. "I also noticed how hyper he can be. To be honest though, when I first met him, I thought he was just a super energetic kid."
"That's happened before." Melinda finished when she reached one hundred push ups, and she then let Lucky know about one more thing as she stood on her four legs. "It's also important to keep in mind that people with ADHD can contribute to low self-esteem, so it's important to work with Blake rather than against him."
Lucky felt he could pull that off. After all, he wasn't against working with Blake at all. He just hoped he wasn't too hard on him earlier. "I think I can do that. After all, I was already doing that." Melinda was glad to hear that and Lucky thanked her as he walked off. "Thanks Melinda!"
"No problem Lucky!" Melinda headed off back to her place, glad that Lucky could understand Blake's condition now.
Back at the barn, Lucky was looking anxiously at his video games and couldn't stress how agitated he was when he found one out of place. He groaned when he got tired of searching and was quick to ask Patch about it. "Patch, where's my copy of Angel May Die V!?"
"I got it right here Lucky!" Patch responded as he set down a pizza for him and Lucky to eat. "I already popped it into the GS5 so we could get started on chowing and gaming as soon as we got the console booted up."
Lucky was glad to hear his game wasn't missing and walked back over to the couch to start gaming. "Thanks dude." Lucky sat down on the couch and opened up the pizza box so Patch could grab a slice. As he did, he brought up something he learned about Blake. "So apparently Blake has ADHD."
"Really?" Patch asked, and then he felt that it wasn't too far off. "Makes sense. He can get distracted pretty easily; like three days ago with that lecture Connor was giving on combat basics."
"Hehe. Yeah. No wonder Connor was so patient with him." Lucky then selected his difficulty as he realized who he was talking about. "Then again it's Connor." Lucky then expressed his concern with how Blake must feel about him after today. He didn't want him to think he was out to get him. "I just hope he didn't take any of it personally. I just want him to be as caught up as the rest of us."
Patch got where Lucky was coming from as he bit into his pizza slice, swallowing it before he gave his own two cents. "We're all as understanding as can be with you, right? Just do what you think would be helping him and it'll work out. At least, that's what I figure."
Lucky felt that made sense and started up his game as he replied. "Yeah. That makes sense. Thanks Patch."
"Anytime." Patch responded, and Lucky then got started on his game as Patch watched him rock at it.
Lucky was talking to Blake in private about his condition, making sure he knew that he was on his side. "So I think you should let everyone else know too, so they know you're not doing this on purpose. I can tell you right now that I've been friends with most of our teammates for weeks, and the ones I'm friends with are really understanding."
Blake was glad to hear that, but he wasn't sure if he was ready to let them know about his condition yet. "Well that's good, but I don't know if I can tell them. I usually let Melinda do that for me when it comes up."
"Then maybe I can help you." Lucky offered, having similar experiences with this himself. "I haven't exactly been direct about it myself, but I can relate to having something can hold you back of made to think it's a disease." Lucky put a paw on Blake's shoulder, knowing that the two of them would get along greatly. "And if anyone tries to make you think that, I'll clobber them." Blake laughed a bit at that offer. He wasn't sure if he'd always need violence to help his problems.
The next day, Lucky and the Brigade were getting ready for training as Connor let them know how much time they had before the test. "I talked to Colonel the other day, and he said you guys should have up to a week to prepare for the test coming up. That should be an extra episode or two depending on what we wanna show off before then." Lucky and the others felt that they could prepare for that, and Colonel then brought up something else. "Lucky, Blake, you also told me that Blake had something he wanted to say, right? Let's get that out of the ball park now."
Blake looked a little nervous, but Lucky patted his back supportively, and that made him smile before he went up there. He just hoped that the others would be as understanding as Lucky was after he found out. "My sister would've told you this before, but she got caught up by Mooch messing with one of her Brigade cadets, so she got distracted by that." Blake then cleared his throat and made sure not to sugarcoat anything. "I have ADHD. If anyone has any questions, then shoot."
"I have one actually." Roxie chimed in, wanting to know why exactly Blake wanted to tell the others about this now. "Why didn't you tell us sooner? It's nothing to be ashamed of."
Blake chuckled a bit, having to admit that he found it hard to talk about his disability. "Well... I kinda don't know what to say when I think about how I'm gonna talk about it. I just get worried that if someone hears about it, they'll start seeing me as a burden, or not wanna hang out with me."
"Well I can tell you right now, you won't be getting that kind of behavior with us." Lucky assured Blake, and the others were quick to agree, much to Blake's joy as his tail started wagging. Connor gave a thumbs up to Lucky, who gave one back, knowing that he was getting better at being a cadet leader every day. He just hoped he would be good enough to become a deputy one day.
Lucky and the others were training again later that day, and Lucky was helping Blake keep focus at the pull up bar. He was keeping him timed now, feeling that this would help him keep focus better. Blake was also doing a little better than yesterday in terms of speed and strength. This made Lucky happy when he stopped the timer. "Time!" Blake let go of the pull up bar and landed on the ground safely, panting with how fast he was going. "Nice work Blake! You made it five pull ups over your twenty pull up goal!"
"In one minute!?" Blake asked, and Lucky nodded his head yes with Blake pumping his fist at how well he did. "Alright! Now let's watch me break thirty!"
Lucky was glad to see Blake improving as he watched over the others and took notice to how well they were all doing as well. "Seems like we'll all be breaking records soon enough. Two-tone's gonna get better at that dumbell thing any minute now, Patch is going a little faster than yesterday, Roxie is still looking hot with that sweat going down her cheeks-"
Lucky then realized what he just said and covered his mouth, leaving Blake confused about what he was saying. "Wait; what was that last one?"
"Nothing!" Lucky exclaimed, making it clear that he didn't want to talk about him finding it how whenever Roxie was sweating. "It's nothing! Let's just focus on what else you can do since you beat your record here. What do you wanna work on next?"
Blake thought about what else he could improve upon and felt that the rock climbing thing looked like it could help. "The rock climbing thing looks fun. And since Patch is over there right now, he could spot for me and let you focus on someone else."
"That'd help. Spot needs some serious coordination lessons." Lucky responded, and then he took Blake over to the rock climbing segment, and he took him over to Patch, who was about to attempt to reach his time again. "Hey Patch. I need you to keep an eye on Blake for a sec, okay? I'm gonna go check on Spot."
Patch gave a thumbs up to Lucky, allowing him to go check on Spot as he then got ready to start his new record reaching attempt. Blake then asked him a question as he was about to start climbing, which thankfully didn't set the timer off. "Hey Patch, why does Lucky think it's pretty when Roxie sweats?"
Patch flinched, knowing that this was something that Lucky wouldn't want him to talk about. He wasn't very good with secrets though, so he tried to cover it up. "Oh, that? It's nothing. And it's definitely not something related to a weird thing some people have."
Blake was confused by Patch's reaction, and he heard the timer go off and got excited to go up. "Climb time!" Blake started climbing before Patch could tell him that the timer was meant for him. Patch didn't mind though, and instead decided to watch and see just how well Blake did on the rock climbing part of the training course.
Lucky headed over to Spot, who'd just gotten herself stuck in one of the tires after tripping over a previous one. He couldn't help but snicker at this, pointing something out to Spot that he felt would help her. "Funny enough Spot, you're more like Dalmatians in whatever caused this than you think. At least half of the Dalmatian breed is clumsy. God knows my cousin Marshall is anyway."
Spot was glad to hear that, but she still wished she could avoid tripping for five seconds just to get the course done. "As interesting as that fact is Lucky, I don't think it'll help me stay up to par with the others." Lucky saw what Spot was getting at with Spot wondering if he knew how to help. "You have any good tips for the tire segment here?"
"There's nothing to complex about passing it really." Lucky admitted, being happy to give Spot some advice that he felt would help. "Your problem could be that you're thinking about what foot you'll put in front of the other at a walking pace. For running, and stuff like this, you have to do it a lot faster, or else you'll run into clumsy problems like the one you ended up with there."
Spot felt that could work and finally got herself out of the tires with Lucky helping her place them back in order. "That does make sense."
"Why do you think I pointed it out?" Lucky asked jokingly, and then he gave Spot another tip on how to flex on the other Bark Brigade students. "Oh. And some of the Bark Brigade students, like Mooch, only really pick on people because they're insecure or taking their problems out on us. It's best to focus on the Brigade itself and not take anything they try to do to you personally, as to avoid losing focus."
Spot took note of that, laughing a bit before she brought up Lucky's specification with Mooch. "You really do have a vendetta against Mooch, huh. What did he do that could've started off your rivalry?"
Lucky didn't wanna bring up Patch's crush on Bella, so he decided to keep it vague for his sake. "Let's just say he's delusional." Spot respected that, and after she and Lucky finished setting the tires back up, they got back to work on the course.
Lucky and the other Bark Brigade cadets were all lined up as they listened to the latest lecture being given by Colonel. "The test will be coming at the end of the month. It will be a test of everything you've learned since the Bark Brigade started at the end of late August." The very sound of this test alone, despite the vagueness of it all, was making Lucky pumped. He was always ready to show off what he could do. "We'll make absolutely sure that you're all prepared for what it has in store for you."
Tibbs then pulled out some kind of bulletin board, one with all kinds of missions the Brigade members could do on it. He seemed excited to explain what it was all about. "We also felt that you could have some time to show off the skills you've had, or gained, after joining. So when you feel you're ready, we have missions for you to take on any day of the week!"
"I'm always ready!" Lucky assured Tibbs as he walked up to the bulletin board. Colonel couldn't help but admire his passion, despite the lecture not being over yet. As Lucky got a good look at the bulletin board, he found a lot of these didn't seem very challenging. "No offense, but these missions seem pretty boring." Lucky then started pointing out specific missions to prove his point. "I mean, some of them do make sense like community service and finding new recruits, but most of these things feel like padding compared to the actual exercise we get here."
Tibbs chuckled nervously, having a feeling that Lucky would feel this way, given how confident he was in his abilities. "Well you're all still cadets Lucky. It wouldn't be very wise to give you all missions beyond a level D ranking. We'll be sure to add better ones as you progress."
Lucky still didn't like the idea of some of these missions being boring and went back to his seat as he replied. "At least this won't be the norm."
Lucky sat back down in between Patch and Roxie with Colonel finishing the lecture so the students could get on with their day. "That's all for today. Feel free to meet with your Lieutenants at your usual spots for training, and to the Cadet leaders, continue to strive to becoming the leaders your team deserves."
Colonel headed off with Tibbs with Lucky and his friends getting a look at the bulletin board, along with everyone else. Lucky didn't find any of the mission's impressive, so Patch and Roxie started looking for some that they felt would work for him. Roxie felt that the community service one could be a good place to start. "Maybe we can try one of the missions you were actually interested in." Lucky wasn't so sure about this, and Roxie could see that before filling him in on something else. "C'mon Lucky. All good leaders start off small before they go big."
Lucky felt that made sense with Patch then holding out one of the new recruits fliers to see if they would be up for that. He was much more cheerful about the basic start to the missions. "Maybe some of us can even go out there and find some new Bark Brigade members. Some of them could even come to OUR team."
Lucky knew there was no point in arguing about this, and hoped that this would be bearable enough to get through. He then saw that the options he had all varied in what you could do for the Brigade. This made him give a light smile as he commented on how this was starting to look up. "At least I'm not tied down to one thing. No way I could handle the same thing every single day." Patch was definitely glad to see Lucky catching on, as was Roxie, leaving Lucky to think about who could do what.
Lucky was on the Gruetly Bay beach with Blake, and the two were taking care of the litter the civilians were leaving there. He saw some fancy looking white guy just drop a beer bottle he was carrying on the sand. This got on Lucky's nerves so he went to go and confront the guy. "Watch where you drop these dude! The beach isn't your own personal trash can!"
Lucky stood by the bottle with the guy walking up to him and speaking back. "And why should I let a dog boss me around?" Lucky didn't let the guy push him around, switching to the side of his stick that didn't have the pointy end to it. "In fact, why don't I call my lawyer to come deal with you?"
"Why don't I bash you across the head so you can call the paramedic?" Lucky threatened, leaving the guy to raise an eyebrow with an unconvinced look on his face. Lucky then spun his stick to the pointy side, poking the guy's shoe and making him flinch. As he started hopping on one foot while holding the other, Lucky gave him some advice to get him back on track. "Pick it up dude. Just because you're rich, doesn't mean you can't get arrested."
Lucky opened up his bag with the guy reluctantly putting it in. He then walked off as he commented on what he saw Lucky as. "I'm guessing they also can't arrest someone just for being a brat."
"I'd rather be a brat than a stuck up rich scumbag! At least I'd still value something other than money!" Lucky struck back, leaving him to walk off with his bag before noticing two siblings, a boy and a girl, possibly twins, playing with a glass bottle by the coast. As the brother tossed it to his sister at one point, Lucky caught it and put it into his bag. He then explained why he did that. "I'm all for fun and games, but you two should play with something less dangerous than glass. One wrong move and this could cut someone's foot if they step on it. Or (Bonks himself on the head gently) bonk ya on the head."
Lucky walked off to continue his duties with the siblings smiling and nodding to each other, deciding to find something safer to play with. Lucky then saw Blake playing by the tide, and the German Shepherd was clearly happy as he ran away from the current while barking. Lucky smiled as he walked over to Blake, and then he got a look at his bag. It wasn't that full compared to his, but the fact that there was trash in it at all showed that Blake cared. After Blake raced the current back to shore one more time, he was quick to catch his attention. "Hey Blake!"
Blake focused his attention onto Lucky, who'd already thought of something that he felt Blake would like. "Your bag's lookin' a little empty compared to mine. Whatya say we spice up the last bit of our time here a little more action based." Blake liked the sound of that and his tail started wagging with Lucky picking up Blake's bag as he explained what he had in mind. "Find some trash near here that's not breakable, and I'll catch it in the bag after you throw."
"Okay!" Blake started gathering trash instantly, getting some cans he found while making sure not to scratch himself on the lids. When he had a total of four, he threw them to Lucky one by one, and he was able to catch the first three with ease. Blake then kicked the last one over to him as hard as he could. That wasn't much of a challenge for Lucky, who jumped up and caught it right in the bag. Blake was impressed with Lucky's skills and picked up another can with his pole before walking over. "That was so cool Lucky! Have you ever played a sport before? You'd be really good at them!"
Lucky started thinking for a moment and felt that it wouldn't hurt to try something like that out. After all, he already had the skills to at least be serviceable at something active. "You know any that'd work for everyone on the team?"
Blake got excited when he heard Lucky acknowledge his idea as a good one and smiled widely with a tail wag as he responded. "So many! And some of them could even give you a chance to see Roxie start-"
"Let's keep that between us and Patch, kay?" Lucky interrupted, having put his paw over Blake's mouth as soon as he realized what he was about to say. Blake nodded his head yes with Lucky then talking more about this sort of thing. "Maybe we could check in with Colonel and Tibbs when we get back and see if they have anything like that planned." Blake was definitely excited to get on with that. And Lucky could tell from his tail wag alone that he was doing a good job at leading him. That also led to his own tail wagging, which he laughed at upon noticing.
Lucky and his friends were currently doing their last practice run of the day with Connor watching over them before sneaking off. He found Melinda watching over Tripod's brigade nearby and gave a sly grin as he went over. He was confident that Lucky could handle leading without him. When he got there, Melinda quickly noticed him and smiled upon his company. "Someone's gonna get in trouble with the big dogs."
"If by 'trouble' you mean a light scolding, then I'm traumatized." Connor responded sarcastically, making Melinda roll her eyes while smiling as he started a conversation about how well the brigades were doing. "Lucky seems to be getting the hang of being a leader. How's Tripod doing with his own team?
"Kid's a natural born leader." Melinda pointed out, and then she pointed to where Tripod was on the course.
Tripod was currently motivating Duke as he lifted up a heavy looking dumbbell. "Push it Duke! I know you have it in you!"
Connor was glad to see that not only was Tripod a strong leader, but that Lucky had a strong rival in the Brigade. "Lucky's gonna have his luck cut out for him then; no pun intended. Those two always seem to be butting heads, and their skill definitely shows why."
"They've both got a lot of promise." Melinda replied, knowing for a fact that Lucky and Tripod were the best two Brigade students. "They proved it when they got the two highest places in the entrance exam, and I have a feeling they're gonna show it later down the line with future tests." A question then popped into Melinda's mind, and she felt Connor wouldn't mind her asking. "Which one of them do you think will become the first Deputy?"
"Hard to say. If I had to place my bets though..." Connor then gave a sly grin as he replied. "Lucky." Melinda couldn't help but scoff at the idea, even with the added knowledge of Tripod only having three legs. The two of them continued to talk about who they felt was superior as the screen faded to black, ending the episode off.
An instrumental version of the main theme played during the credits.
