Chapter 2
Arizona Robbins was used to feeling like shit first thing in the morning, waking up hungover. Well, she was either hungover or still drunk from the previous night or a deadly combination of both. She remembered that she scored at the local bar and that something had caused the girl to run away or rather someone. No one rejected Arizona Robbins, no one. She knew she was irresistible, the women she has been with have often clung onto her like she was giving them their next breath, but there was just something about the stranger from last night.
Putting all of those thoughts away, she made her way downstairs to the kitchen hoping to get some coffee. She saw that her mom had already started on the breakfast, it was about eight am, a bit late in the colonel's household for anyone to wake up after six am, but it wasn't like anyone cared. Her mom had given up on her and her dad… well her dad had given up on life.
"Where's Danny?" She asked as she poured herself a cup of coffee taking in the aroma of her beverage.
She loved her morning coffee almost as much as she loved her drinks at night. Arizona grabbed some creamer, along with milk and sugar. Hey, it was the one drink of the day she was having that didn't have alcohol in it and that to her was a fucking victory.
"He and his friend have gone out for a morning run, you should have joined them too, Arizona."
The blonde rolled her eyes, "Sure mom, I'll join them next time," she said as she feigned interest.
Before Arizona sat down the two of them came running through the door.
"Oh little sis you are up!" Danny said as he jogged over to her and gave her a tight hug before rougling her hair.
"Miss Robbins, not an early riser I see," the woman said. Wait, she was the same woman from last night. But right now with the sunlight hitting her skin just right, she looked something right out of a movie.
To Arizona, it felt like she had suddenly lost the ability to talk. Who was she? Why was she here? And how do I get into her pants? These were some of the questions that were going around her head.
"I should introduce the two of you." Danny gestured to the woman, "This is Captain Callie Torres," he said before he turned to his sister, "And this right here, is my little sister Arizona."
Callie nodded. "Yeah, we met last night," She said before taking a seat beside her and pouring herself a glass of water.
Arizona was speechless or rather that droplet of sweat that had made its way down the side of her face and to her neck was too distracting, she wanted to stick her tongue out and catch it on her tongue.
"I'm not calling you Captain," she said as she took a drink of her coffee.
Danny just laughed knowing how their father was and how he insisted on being called Colonel. "Captain Torres, our dad served too and he likes to be called Colonel," Danny said before walking towards his mother.
Callie nodded before turning towards Arizona. "That's okay, it would sound strange when you scream Captain with pleasure. Callie is fine," she whispered in her ear before taking the cup that Arizona was holding and taking a drink from it. "Damn, that's some good coffee, a bit too sweet maybe?"
The blonde was speechless. She wasn't sure what just happened. Arizona watched her finishing her cup of coffee before handing the empty cup back to her. "I'm going to go take a shower," she said to both Danny and Barbara before leaning in closer to Arizona, "You are welcomed to join me, if you want that is," she said before running a hand through her sweaty hair before making her way to the bathroom.
"Who is she?" Arizona asked again.
"I told you she's Captain Callie-"
"Torres, yes I heard you loud and clear the first time. But what is she doing here? Why did you bring her home Danny?"
"She said she had no plans for Memorial Day weekend so I invited her over for the week."
This got Barbara's ears. "What do you mean week? You were gone for a year, I thought you'd be home for at least a month!"
"Mom, I'm new, I need to put in more hours and be better, or well decent," he explained.
"Danny, next time don't bring any random strangers home. God lord, that is wrong with you!" Arizona said as she refilled her cup.
"What? You don't like her?" He asked.
"This is my house she doesn't get to tell me when I get to come home-"
Barbara spoke up. "When did you get home last night Arizona?" She asked.
The blonde simply rolled her eyes before getting up from her seat. "Let's stop pretending that you care about what I do Mom! Danny joined the Marines and you didn't say anything!"
"Arizona Robbins!"
"Ground me, I dare you!" She yelled back. "I'm going to go to my room. Next time, don't bring her home," she said to Danny before she exited the kitchen.
She needed to get Callie out of her mind.
The blonde didn't realize that it was already noon, so she checked her phone and saw that it was three. She didn't mean to take a nap but who needed food when she was just going to get drunk later that night.
Arizona heard a knock on the door. "Come in." Who could it be? Who cared to check up on her to see if she was still breathing?
Callie walked in with a plate full of food. "You missed lunch."
"And you care because?"
"Lunch was really good and I didn't want you to miss out?" She said before shrugging her shoulders.
"Callie, I mean this is the sweetest way possible but you are overstepping a bit here."
Callie looked at her with that authoritative gaze again, she swore she could feel her panties becoming wet.
"I mean you just got here yesterday and Danny is nice and all inviting you over, but I don't want you to get the wrong signals or whatever. I am not interested in you or whatever this is, so maybe you should back off a bit?" She suggested.
Callie just kept quiet and let her talk. She wasn't sure where all of this was coming from. She swore she saw desire in her eyes. She was sure it would be a quick lay before she never saw Arizona ever again, but maybe she was wrong.
"Eat."
"No." Arizona crossed her arms. "Did you not hear me at all?"
"Miss Robbins, you say one thing while your body says something else"
"What does my body say?"
Callie grabbed the fork in the plate and loaded it up with some pasta before bringing to the blonde's mouth. Arizona stood her ground refusing to open her mouth but this was not her first time dealing with stubborn babies, she dealt with them all the time. She looked at the blonde with a gaze that screamed 'obey me', soon Arizona's stomach grumbled as the fragrance of the alfredo made its way to her belly.
"See, that's what your body says."
Arizona rolled her eyes before opening her mouth and taking a bite.
"You can moan, it's good pasta."
"I can do what I want to do wherever I want to do it, I don't need your permission."
Callie leaned in closer before swiping the corner of Arizona's mouth with her thumb "And yet again your body deceives you" She said before taking the thumb in her mouth "Mmhh, the best thing ever past and… you"
Arizona was willing herself not to react, not to give into this goddess in front of her. Callie stood up from her bed before taking her phone in her hand.
"As much as I'd like to stick around and give you company, I have a few calls to make."
"Like who? Your family, that doesn't want you, which is why you're here in my house?" She knew it was a low blow, but she was loosing and she couldn't let that happen.
"Don't miss dinner" she said before making her way out.
Arizona wanted to kick herself. She wasn't sure what was going on. On one hand she was definitely attracted to her and on the other she hated the Marines. She hated people who served. What if they got together and became girlfriends and then Callie died? What would she do then? She cannot take another loss. It hurt too much when she lost Tim, she did not want to go through the same again.
But then again, at the same time, Callie was the sexiest thing she had seen. She was dominant, knew what she wanted and was unapologetic about it. The way she snatched her coffee right from under her nose was hot. Callie was fire and she was scared to be consumed by it, but at the same time she wanted to give it her all and burn in it.
Arizona finished up her food and went down to put her back under the pretenses of running into Callie accidently. But the kitchen was quiet. Where was everybody?
That was when she heard her dad laughing. It brought on a smile to her face as well. The last time she heard her father laugh was when everything was alright, Danny had not enlisted, Tim was alive and she had come home from her undergrad and was on her way to become an artist.
She walked over to her father's study and saw both the Daniels playing a match of ping pong where the both of them failed miserably. Either the ball would fly off and hit the ceiling or would miss the table by a lot.
Callie would take the paddle from her brother's hand and play a few points. She could tell that Callie knew what she was doing but because she wasn't sure what the men were doing she downplayed her game a little.
Suddenly their eyes met, she saw a flash of something in those brown eyes before Callie handed the racket back and sat back down.
Arizona felt guilty. She wanted the brunette to have fun, she didn't want to be the cause of her pain because of her stupid words. Maybe she should talk with her and set things straight.
"Hey, what are you guys doing?" She asked as she entered the room.
"Whooping Dad's ass in ping pong! Want to join?" He asked.
"Sure!" She said as she picked up a racket.
"Perfect, now we can play doubles. Men versus women?" Tim said as he moved towards his dad's side of the table.
"No, it's okay I'm a little beat, why don't you guys play and I'll watch," Callie said from the couch.
"Getting a little old there Captain?" The colonel teased before missing another shot.
"You're on!" Callie picked up her racket before she came and stood behind Arizona. "I'm usually on top but I'll be behind you right now. Is that okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, you're good," the blonde replied before they started playing.
The game was not an intense one to say the least. Arizona had no idea where to hit what to hit but she was better than the two men combined, at least hers bounced on the table. Callie let Arizona play as much as she could. It was fair. You don't bring a gun to a knife fight or well a machine gun to a scalpel fight.
Things were looking good for Callie and Arizona's team. Callie managed to hit whatever shots came to her, even though Arizona tried to stretch and play it for her.
The Robbins were a competitive lot even when they sucked at it.
It was the final point of the game, they needed just one to win. Arizona wanted to end it with a smash so she took a couple of steps back while Callie was a bit distracted by the trash talk Danny was making. Arizona's back collided with her front, now if there was no stale whiskey on the floor she wouldn't have slipped, but everything seemed to line up and Arizona fell on top of her as she landed on her back.
"Oh shit! Callie, I'm so sorry!" She said as she got up and offered her hand. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah," she replied as she got up before offering her own hand to the blonde.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"
"Cop a feel? It's okay, next time just ask and I'll let you touch me," Callie leaned in impossibly close to her "Everywhere you want and for however long you want."
Looks like Callie was back to her normal self, which was getting on Arizona's nerves.
"I'll go check if your mother needs help with anything in the kitchen." She said before placing the paddle on the ping pong table. "Miss Robbins?"
Arizona jogged to her. "Make up your mind Sugar lips. I'm not here for long."
"Sugar lips?"
"You don't like that? Too bad Sugar lips, cant change till I taste them," she said as she left the room leaving a thoroughly confused and agitated blonde behind.
A/N: So, what do you think? Should Arizona stand her ground or just simply give in?
