D'Jok's hand was shaking, aiming the laser at the Xenon in front of him. He couldn't bring himself to shoot. Not with his father there.

Micro Ice was on the ground as well, clearly in shock

The stress of the situation made The Breath come almost naturally.

"Let go of my father!" He yelled. The Xenon scoffed. D'Jok was fuming, The Breath pulsating around him. Sonny woke up, seeing what was happening. He couldn't help but feel proud. Seeing the Xenon was distracted, he activated his Flux as well. The Xenon felt a burning pain and threw him against a wall. D'Jok was next to him quickly.

"Are you ok?" He asked, reaching out.

"I'm fine, just a little banged up."Sonny assured him, getting to his feet. The Xenon looked at him.

"Do you have any idea what you've done?" He snarled. Sonny was still engulfed by his Flux as he beckoned for the other two to get behind him.

"Putting a stop to your plans." Sonny replied, his voice sounding far more steady than he actually felt. The Xenon laughed.

"My kind has conquered Galaxies for Eons. Even with a precious 'Guardian'." He taunted. Sonny nodded.

"It stops here." Sonny said.

"It sure does." The Xenon roared, as he leapt towards the three Pirates.

Corso looked at the map of the ice mines. It was cold, but there was no time to think about that. They needed to get to Sonny quickly. Corso looked at his group. He was glad he had his brother beside him.

They reached the door into the labs, and Corso was about to set up his jammer system when the entire cave was shaking. Artie looked worried.

"The entire cave is going to collapse." He said. Bennett nodded in agreement. Corso was not convinced. He checked the walls.

"These are old. Things back then were built to last. I'm just wondering what caused that quake?" He said. "We need to get to them, FAST."

Solaris sent some of her strongest paladins to deal with the invading army. The scientists, equipped with mind controlling helmets, quickly surrendered when they found the paladins surrounding them.

It was the same on Abraxor. The rebels, backed by a group loyal to General Bleylock senior, managed to get control there.

Solaris called things into the War room. She was surprised to find herself linked up with Duke Maddox and Technoid.

"Golden Paladin, reporting that the enemy army on Stellar Unix is neutralized." She said. There was a little disturbance, and Bertrand was online.

"Abraxor is clean. General Blaylock's people are handling it from here. Any news from the others?" He asked. Dame Simbai and Brim Balarius appeared. Brim Balarius looked relieved.

"Where are the armies located?" He asked. Then, a flickering screen came on from Obscurantis.

It was Sinedd, even though not from the planet,, was now in charge of leading the military operation there.

"Obscurantis leader reporting, still heavy fights here, we might need some help." He said. Then Warren came on.

"The Lightnings will come in to assist. Our planet is clear now." He reported. Duke Maddox listened, as he started wondering about a specific planet.

Akillian.

He had no reports from his troops there, nor from Sonny. Dame Simbai noticed this as well.

"Any word from Sonny?" She asked, as all eyes were on her now. Duke Maddox sighed.

"No, but Corso is on his way to him." He said. General Benson spoke up.

"We can afford to lose our Guardian." he stated. The room was eerily silent, till another screen came on.

A woman none of them knew.

"I've been listening. Sonny is taking risks, leaving people out because he wants to do things himself, as always. All we can do is prove that he doesn't need to do this all on his own. That we can help him." She said, Duke Maddox looked at her. He could swear, he knew her from somewhere. Slowly she turned to him.

"You did well for yourself, Eron." She said with a smile. That answered his question.

"Yolanda." He whispered. She nodded.

"I haven't been called that for a long while. I'm named Flora now."

"D'Jok, leave it to Micro Ice, I want you to guard the door." Sonny said, lowering the bound Xenon to the ground. He felt Cobra try to let go. "You're not going anywhere." Cobra stared at him.

"Sonny, you're bleeding!" Micro Ice yelled, as he noticed the blood that started to drip from Sonny's lower abdomen. Sonny felt a searing pain shoot through him. He remembered the fight that got him that wound, but it was ages ago. Could Andro Zygnans open old wounds?

"I'll be fine." He said. D'jok didn't look like he agreed.

"Doesn't look like you are. Didn't take you for a liar." Micro Ice said. Sonny didn't say a thing. Just as the dazed Xenon sat down, Cobra unlatched from his host, flinging himself at Sonny.

"Masochistic Fool." He said, but Sonny managed to freeze him with the Breath.

"Get the bubble projector ready." Sonny barked. The wound hurt, and he felt himself grow weaker, but he had to hang on till the bubble was secured. Micro Ice started to spray the frozen shadow of Cobra as he started to hiss. Sonny felt his vision starting to fade as he kept the being down. He wasn't sure how much longer he would last.

Suddenly, he could hear Corso's voice.

"Sonny's hurt." Micro Ice said. Corso cursed under his breath as he took Sonny's shoulders.

"My turn, I won't let you kill yourself in such a stupid way." He said. Sonny was in too much pain to answer, but managed a small nod.

In a matter of seconds, Cobra was engulfed in the bubble material, and Bennett pulled a special can from his jacket.

"And that's why you have a proper Team around." He said. That was the last thing Sonny heard, before he was swallowed by darkness.

Corso emerged from the small tent they brought with them. D'Jok looked at him. It had been hours since they set up camp here in this cave, due to a snowstorm preventing them to return to the ship.

"How is he doing?" D'Jok asked, noticing the blood on Corso's sleeves. Corso sat down next to him.

"He's fine D'Jok, just weakened. Had to give an impromptu blood transfusion with Stevens. These Andro Zygnans opening up old wounds is a bother and a half. He would have bled out. Just get some rest." Corso said. D'Jok nodded. "Give him a few weeks, and he'll be good as new." D'Jok yawned. Corso smiled.

"Yeah, being with Sonny can be exhausting. Just get some sleep while you can." He said. That made the younger Blackbones nod, before he crawled into the tent.

Kuun had walked around in the cave, patrolling. He couldn't shake how familiar these cave walls looked. Like he's known them from before. He felt a hand on his shoulder as Corso looked at him.

"Reminiscing?" He asked. Kuun nodded.

"I can't shake the feeling that I've been here before." he said. Corso didn't say anything, he just walked silently beside his younger brother.

"I'll be damned!"Kuun suddenly exclaimed. Corso looked at him. Kuun bent down next to some rocks shielded from the cold, there was writing on them.

"This is where D'Jok was born.." Kuun whispered. Corso took out a small can, and sprayed a few words of thanks on the ground.

"For prosperity." He said. He felt Kuun's hand on his shoulder, and the two brothers returned to the others, leaving an unmarked spot with only words of gratitude behind them.

Things are getting tense, only 5 chapters left before the story ends.

Will Sonny have gathered all the pieces to end this invasion in a peaceful way?

As always. Thanks to Paranoidgirl for her work beta-ing this story.

It's strange to be this close to the end, but then again, I got other stories in the pipeline and who knows, she might join me on another one.

To all you readers that follow this story, thank you so much. For a dead fandom as someone called it, to have nearly 2000 readers is pretty amazing.

Thank you for all tips and guidance.

I truly appreciate it.

I Hope this chapter will be to your liking.

Happy reading!
