It was the fifth day in a row that the snow storm raged. Corso was worried about the Andro Zygnans following them, now that they captured Cobra. The shadowy figure had been raging inside his bubble, trying to break it. D'Jok looked at him angrily as he passed on the way to the cooker where Artie and Micro Ice prepared a light meal. Sonny also made his way out of the tent today, but he moved slowly. Corso handed him a bowl of soup.
"Feeling better?" Corso asked, grabbing a drink. Sonny gave him a faint smile, as he started to eat.
"Tastes good." Sonny commented. "Without D'jok's and Micro Ice's help, I wouldn't be able to come here. I might not even know what was going on." Sonny said thoughtfully. Corso nodded.
"What in Shilohs name was going through your mind, taking off with only the two of them? You can't keep doing this. We have a family. People that count on us to be there for them." Corso said. Sonny nodded silently.
"Guess I should make up for this?" He asked, looking at his husband. Corso nodded.
"We love you. We just don't want you to get hurt." He said. Sonny nodded. Sonny finished his soup.
"So, what's the plan with our prisoner?" Corso asked. "We have to wait another day or two until this blows over." Sonny looked at him.
"Could Gaia help heal my wound?" He asked. Corso looked at him.
"You know it's illegal for me to use." He said. Sonny looked at him.
"You can ask a Flux Master for permission. And if you don't want to ask me, ask D'Jok." Sonny said. Corso agreed.
"So, what do you want to do with Cobra, and Ta'Nakh?" He asked.
"We'll interrogate them. For now, Flora is taking over for me. She told me to hurry up and get well. And that I should stop risking my life since it's so important." Sonny said. Corso nodded.
"Please do. You're giving everyone gray hairs." He said. Sonny, without thinking of the pain, leaned over, took Corsos head in his hands, and pulled him for a kiss.
D'Jok walked over to them. Corso cleared his throat as he pulled away.
"Got a question for you D'Jok." Corso started.
"Need a Flux Master for something?" He asked, looking at his fathers husband. Corso nodded.
"If I use Gaia, I might be able to heal Sonny's wound faster." He explained. D'Jok nodded.
"I don't see why not."
It was a long time since she had the chance to do this.
Flora stood in front of the Warlord. He was furious, looking at her. It didn't bother her. She used a device called the Revealing Light, making sure he would tell the truth.
Ta'Nakh tried to look away from it, but to no avail. Flora sat down.
"We meet again. Your Conquest ends now. The Guardian will see to that." She said. The warlord looked at her.
"None of the others survived, what makes you think Sonny will do better?" He asked. So he knew.
"Because we will help him. This isn't something someone should do alone." She said. The Warlord laughed from inside his bubble.
"You really think that will help? When even he doesn't want to work with others?" He taunted. Flora left him after that.
"Raven, Call Corso. Tell him to keep Sonny away from any Andro Zygnan."
Sonny was lying down inside the tent, ready for the procedure as D'Jok sat next to him. Corso carefully pulled up Sonny's shirt, exposing the wound. The bandages were still red. Sonny grit his teeth as Corso removed the bandage. Corso took his gloves off, and warmed his hands, before gently activating Gaia. D'Jok could see the energy flow through his hands, as Corso took a deep breath. Sonny just tried to relax. Corso looked at him.
"Take a deep breath, this might sting." He warned, as he gently put his hands over the wound. Sonny inhaled sharply, but managed to keep himself calm. Corso gently adjusted his Flux, softly probing deeper into the wound.
Then, his Flux suddenly changed colors. It looks almost like water. It streamed into Sonny's body, causing him to gasp in pain. Corso did this for more than an hour, slowly working his way out of the wound. It was amazing to see how the wound healed so fast.
Then, Corso stopped.
"Now you need to rest." He said. Sonny looked at him.
"If you stay with me." He said.
"I will leave you two alone." D'jok said, and quickly left the tent.
Callie was done shopping with Mei and Iris. The Sanctuary had everything they had on Akillian and even Genesis. There were even some Technoid brands, which Mei liked, as she still used Grumbles products. Iris had found a bubble bath formula she liked too, mostly because of the funny figures on the bottle.
"Pirates brand. Figures." She chuckled. Callie laughed.
"Don't remind me, I am sure Adrienne and Marco will be the same when they grow up." She said. Mei giggled.
"D'Jok just offered to do house work for me for two months straight, he feels really bad about just getting up and leaving." She said. That made Callie worry about Sonny. The fact Andro Zygnans could open old wounds would complicate things, especially with someone like Sonny, who would get injured regularly. At least he was fine now, but they had to take things into account for the future.
Callie picked up a few minor items, before her assigned bodyguard drove her and the twins back home.
Corso checked the time. Six hours and Sonny was still sleeping. He felt tired himself as well. Using Gaia in that way wore him out. Corso smiled as he laid down, letting Sonny's head rest on his chest. It felt so good, to just be this close and feel Sonny's warmth. He couldn't remember last time the two of them could do this. After a while, Sonny stirred.
"Feeling ready to wake up?" Corso said with a smile, giving Sonny a kiss as he blinked his eyes open. Sonny chuckled softly.
"Not yet." He said, but as he turned, he inhaled sharply.
"Easy, you're still wounded." Corso said. Sonny breathed hard for a few seconds before he calmed himself.
"Did anyone check the weather? If the storm is clearing, we can have The Black Manta come pick us up." He said, trying to sit up. Corso helped him.
"Relax. We'll take care of things. Flora has taken the reins in your absence. I heard from Duke Maddox late last night that his troops were slaughtered. But the Andro Zygnans also took heavy losses in the fight. Also one of their leaders vanished." Corso said. Sonny nodded.
"Flora's doing a good job. It's good to see everyone working together." He said. Corso agreed.
"We also know about their power to re-open wounds. That's going to be an issue. Especially for someone like you." Corso said. Sonny knew he was right. He had started to think of something. A possible peaceful solution to all of this. It was detailed, and it would require a lot of people from a lot of different planets, but Sonny was feeling more confident this could be solved without more bloodshed.
"I will need to speak to Raven, I need someone who knows Intergalactik Law. If I play this right, we might avoid a bloodshed altogether." Sonny explained to Corso, who just looked astounded.
"Is that even possible?" Corso asked. Sonny nodded with a smile.
"With how things are going for them, I'm in a very good position to make a deal." He said. Corso still wasn't convinced.
"Just tell me your plan." Corso said, looking intently at his husband.
"What did Flora tell Dame Simbai?" He asked.
"They know you're the Guardian." Corso said. Sonny smiled.
"If anything that helps me with my offer." He said. Corso frowned.
"Just tell me your idea." He said.
"Through a peaceful game of Galactik Football."
The old ways are still the best, Magnus Blade once said.
And Sonny is true to his nature, making a good blend of the old and the new to prevent the worst possible outcome.
Is there hope for the Zaelion Galaxy, or is this conflict going to end in bloodbath?
Only 3 more chapters before the conclusion.
