Chapter 6
So there we were 3 idiots getting ready to fly off to this worlds equivalent of the DMV. While we were making our way to the DMV I decided to strike up a conversation.
"Piccolo……..what's with that outfit?" Goku's outfit was actually pretty clean but the same could not be said about Piccolo's.
"You look like you came straight from Bel air. Will Smith looking ass." Both Goku and piccolo looked at me confused. "Bel-Air?"
Ah right forgot that show doesn't exist here. "It's a space sitcom y'all probably wouldn't know about it. My point still stands though." I flew backwards to face piccolo and looked at him from head to toe "Bro I cannot stress how bad that outfit is like goddamn!"
Piccolo grew angry "at least I don't have to cut 2 thirds of my pants so my tail could fit!!" ……...dammit he's right. I didn't have the money to make custom clothes yet so I've been taking cheap clothes I bought or stuff Goku couldn't wear anymore and cut out enough space for my tail could fit. It was a tragedy but what could you do?
"You no swag having green bastard you know that was a soft spot!!" I seethed "It's not my fault."
"Well you shouldn't make fun of people's clothes then. Not like your choice of clothing is better than mine." I was wearing a red shirt with a pair of black cargo pants and some black boots.
"What are you talking about? My outfit is astonishing!" He looked at me with a mocking smirk. "Don't you think your too old for that style?"
"I'm only 20 years old." I yawned. Technically I'm 38 but physically I'm 20.
"Alright guy's we're here." We all landed in front of a huge building. "Guess it's time, let's all do our best."
After we got enrolled for driving lessons we were brought outside. There were 3 different cars waiting for us.
Piccolo went with the lady instructor in the red car, Goku went with the old guy in the yellow car. I was stuck with a blond pretty boy in a blue. "My name is Rash and I'll be your driving instructor today."
Piccolos lady took off like a coked up nascar racer. "YOU HEAR THAT BABY. THAT'S CALLED POWER!!" They sped off into the distance.
'...that's kinda hot.'
Why did I end up with some pretty boy instead of a babe like her? After the instructors demonstrated how to drive responsibly, they led us to the cones to let us drive ourselves. Piccolo was actually a pretty good driver didn't even hit the cones at all. I had the help of my past memory's to past this part with flying colors. Goku did quite terrible. Damn near every cone on the strip was hit. This was the 3rd attempt too!
'And he crashed the car again…...'
After that nonsense we were finally allowed to drive on the highway. Goku speed out of the lot knocking over cones and cars left and right. Eventually landing in a lake. Piccolo and I just drove by the wreckage. I remember laughing my ass off at this episode when I was a kid but to actually experience it was another thing.
"Looking good there Piccolo!" I pulled up beside him "Didn't expect for you to drive so well!"
He smirked "Thanks, I could say the same to you!" I looked at the road to make sure I wouldn't hit anybody then back to Piccolo "I used to go drag racing all the time. My grandfather and I actually competed in a universal grand circuit once!" It was actually pretty fun. Imagine the stages in sonic riders and zero gravity and you'll get my whole experience during that time. Funny enough I even used a hoverboard on some planets for the races. Now if only the contestants wasn't so scared of winning it would have been a challenge.
Things continued smoothly after that. We were both driving responsibly on the road. If it wasn't for Goku we would have made it to the end goal.
"Eat my dust piccolo wooo!!" Goku speed by piccolo's car ticking off the big green alien "Is that a challenge?! If it's a race you want then it's a race you'll get!!" Piccolo sped up to catch up to Goku.
"Your doing just fine Kuriza. Keep this up and you'll pass with flying colors!" I puffed my chest out "Of course I will."
"WOO!" Goku speed by me "I WON'T LOSE TO YOU!!" With piccolo right on his tail.
'Oh it's like that huh?'
I pulled out sun glasses from the glove compartment and sped up my vehicle to catch up.
We sped down the highway tearing through anything that got in our way. I eventually passed the two
"So long bitches hahaha!!" I leaned forward in my seat a little to pay attention to the road more. I almost missed Gohan hanging off of a fence with Icarus looking at us.
'Aren't you supposed to be studying?' guess he really wanted to observe how we did.
Piccolo eventually went up a hill and drove down its side trying to stay caught up to Goku. They eventually crashed into each other blowing up their vehicle's. Don't worry the instructors are fine.
"Your not gonna stop to check on your friends?" Rash asked looking worried about that unfortunate accident.
"Nah they should be fine." After a few more miles of driving I eventually reached the building again. The instructor passed me with flying colors and gave me my license there on the spot. It took a couple of hours for piccolo and Goku to arrive. They had to retake their test.
"Look guys!!" I flashed my driver's license at them "Pretty sweet right!" Goku looked at and smiled "Congratulations Kuriza! Just you wait me and piccolo will have ours in no time!" The new testing cars stopped in front of the 2. "Well we're going to take our test again. See ya Kuriza." I waved the two off "Good luck you two!!"
I watched them drive off until I couldn't anymore.
"You can come out now kid."
"Wha!!!" *Thud. Gohan and Icarus tripped from behind a corner. "You noticed? Since when?"
"Since that race your father's and I had." I walked over and helped Gohan and his pet from off of the ground. "Any reason your not with you mother right now?" He scratched the back of his head and looked at the ground. "I got tired of studying and Icarus visited so I decided to see how you guys were doing."
I hummed "Does your mom know your here?" He looked even more guilty than before. "No" I looked at Gohan and Icarus. I like Chi Chi alot but she is kind of pushing her son too much. She barely lets the kid have any breaks and when he does it's pretty brief. I understand her reasoning but she goes to far sometimes.
"I guess we're on a time limit then." Gohan looked up at me confused "What do you mean?" I up and pat him on the head "What I mean kiddo is that it's time to show you the wonders of the city." I went to the sidewalk and started strolling towards my destination Gohan ran beside me "Where are we going?"
"I'm going to show you the wonders of arcade!" I said in a exaggerated manner. "What's a arcade?" Gohan asked
Later
"Wind flash, wind flash, wind flash, hyper kick, wind flash!"
"KO!!"
"Goddammit this is embarrassing……" when I brought Gohan to the arcade I thought that he was going to be a typical kid. I thought I would have to teach him the control's and fake loosing some matches to encourage him.
If only I knew how wrong I was.
It only took a couple of matches in this worlds equivalent of street fighter 2 for my expectations to be blown out of the water. Kid was a fighting game prodigy. It gotten so bad that people in the arcade started to notice how good he was and challenged him to a couple of matches and got their butts handed to them.
"How can this happen to me.." I sat with a cup of fruit punch at a table. Icarus was taking bites out of some pizza I ordered for us. "I'm supposed to be the superior here….." Gohan eventually got tired of the game and went to sat with us.
"That was alot of fun guy's! Did you see how many people I beat!?" Gohan said excitedly before taking a piece of pizza and stuffing it into is mouth.
"You did amazing there kiddo. I didn't expect you to learn the game that quickly." It hurt my pride a little but seeing him happy makes the pain dull "You tried the other games yet?" After drinking some juice he looked towards me excited "There's more games?!"
After that we went to almost all the arcade machines and tried them. He did pretty well in all of them but of course couldn't beat me.
'You may be the better fighting game player but I'm the superior gamer overall!"
We lost track of time and decided to head home. I picked up the sleeping Icarus then head out of the arcade only to discover that it was night time.
'oh shit. Chi Chi might kill me!'
I turned to Gohan only to notice him having the same terrifying thoughts that I was. I took a deep breath to calm myself.
"It's time for us to face our punishment like a men Gohan." I kneeled down and touched his shoulder. I swear I heard a army horn blowing in the background. "If anything happens to me promise me that my legacy of having the highest score in puyo tris will live on." He gave me a salute "I-I promise."
"Good, now let's go drop off Icarus. Do you know where his nest is?" We dropped off Icarus with his parents and went to accept our fate. Gohan was grounded for a week while I was barred from eating Chi Chi's cooking for a month.
I was working on the farm with Goku before my stomach started to growl. Goku noticed it and stopped working to turn towards me "You know I could sneak you out a couple of leftovers if your hungry." I waved him off "No I must accept the consequences of my actions." I thought back on what I did and every time I start to regret my actions I thought about Gohan's carefree smile while he was beating my ass in country brawler 2 and couldn't bring myself to regret it. "Accepting your offer would mean I regret what I did." I plucked a tomato from it's bush and bit it "thanks for the offer though." Goku shrugged and went back to work. "More food for me and Gohan then."
We stored our produce in a storage shed capsule I purchased not to long ago. My first album was doing hot numbers right now so I put that extra revenue to use by buying a capsule trailer house and a storage shed. It wouldn't be too long until I purchase a capsule house I had my eye on. then I would be put of here. I'm going to miss the son's. Chi Chi was a nice lady to be around when she wasn't pissed off, Gohan was like a little brother that I never had and Goku was a slow but lovable friend. I plan on visiting anytime I can.
"Goku can I ask you for a favor?" He turns to me "Sure, what's it about?" I scratched the back of my head. "I noticed that I don't have much technique while I fight. Do you mind training me how to fight properly?" I tried to learn on my own by reading scrolls and books about it when I visited the city wasn't working out. I felt like I was doing something wrong.
"I don't know, I'm not a very good teacher….." Goku said doubtful if he could teach at all. "You seem to be doing a good job with Gohan."
"I guess your right…...fine I'll try to train you. But don't get mad if I'm not a very good teacher." Goku took off his outfit and went to take a bath outside. "Thanks bro, I'll find a way to repay you." He waved me off and went to soak in the bath.
"Kuriza do you mind driving me to the store!? We are running low on supplies!" Chi chi came out of the house "sure I don't mind." Turns out I was the only one to pass my driver's test. Piccolo and Goku crashed their cars again saving a bus full of children from falling off road on a mountain.
'And people say Goku isn't a hero.'
It fell to me to be the chauffeur for Chi Chi. We got in my car and I drove her to the city to pick up groceries and head back home.
'you know I don't mind living like this. The quiet country life living around friends has treated me fairly well so far. I could get used to this.'
After helping Chi Chi put up the food I sat down in the living room and turned on the tv to watch the news.
"There has been reports of an object heading towards earth in frightening speeds. It appears to be a inhabited planet. If this object collided with earth it will bring destruction on a catastrophic level." The news lady began telling us about the kings efforts to destroy the object before it collided with earth. "It's expected arrival will be in 3 weeks let's hope king furry finds a way to counter this grave threat." I turned off the tv and leaned back on the sofa.
'Lord slug huh?' he was a notorious pirate known throughout the galaxy. He was so slippery that the galactic patrol had trouble even knowing what his ship looked like.
'Looks like I need to start training with Goku asap.'
In Canon lord slug wasn't that strong but I can't rely on that anymore given that I exist and I heard about alot of his exploits. Apparently he took on Coolers armored squadron and the Ginyu force at the same time and won. We can't be sure that he isn't stronger that Frieza.
Walking out of the house and following Goku's kid signature I watched him go through his katas before interrupting him.
"Teach me the kaioken." I said with a straight face. During his fight with Vegeta on Namek he was carried by the kaioken until the zenkais started to kick in.
"I don't know. That technique could weak havoc on your body."
"Don't worry Goku. My race are extremely durable I'm sure I could take the strain."
In the coming weeks Goku taught me a little bit of the kame style And taught me the basics of the kaioken. We got a call from Bulma asking if we could destroy the planet on a collision course to earth. Apparently Vegeta was off world right now training.
'it's time, lord slug won't know what hit him.'
