In a few hours, Sonny's personal ship arrived at Genesis. Sonny ordered a special container for the bubble, and anyone who had a history of serious injuries was ordered to stay away. Duke Maddox' Droids couldn't be influenced by the Andro Zygnans, so they could be helpful.
Only Corso was really allowed to go near the Prisoner. Right now, Corso took Sonny to the Sanctuary to keep him safe.
The Black Manta landed, with Kuun as its Captain, who threw one last look at the creature in the bubble.
"You'll all pay for this." The creature hissed, trying to pierce the skin of the bubble.
"Don't waste your time worrying about Sonny. He's got this in the bag." Kuun replied, voice cold.
"Foolish Chissian. He'll die just like all of you." Cobra snarled. Kuun smirked.
"You won't find Sonny. Corso's taking him somewhere safe." Kuun said, before he signaled the others to put the bubble in the container. As the ship landed, Kuun made sure the bubble was secure, before it was driven away by Technoid Droids. As soon as that was taken care of, he made a call.
"The package is delivered." He told Corso, who nodded, looking at Sonny, who was sitting in a chair, half asleep. "How is Sonny?" Kuun asked.
"He's fine, just resting. But he already has a plan." Corso said. Kuun agreed.
"Do we have a backup, for when it fails?" He asked. Corso smirked.
"Don't worry, that's all taken care of." He said. Kuun nodded.
"I'll report to General Benson as soon as possible."
It was halfway finished last time he saw it, and now, The Sanctuary was finally complete. Sonny looked at it as The Black Manta approached. He had taken the time to get some sleep on the flight, with Corso next to him. Sonny sighed. Corso was right. He couldn't keep doing this anymore. He had a family, young kids, kids who deserved to know both their fathers. He would have to change priorities after this war. Failure was not an option. He just hoped the others would agree with this plan.
There was also the issue of Brim Balarius. With what they found out about him, he'd probably have to give up his position as Leader of the Flux Society. As the Guardian, it would probably be his job to appoint a new one. He already had someone in mind: Dame Simbai. She always came across as just, impartial and above all, fair. But first, he needed to get other things taken care of.
As soon as they docked, Sonny and Corso returned home to Callie and the twins. Sonny smiled as Micro Ice joined them.
"Wow, The Sanctuary is huge." He said. Sonny smiled.
"We've had experience. If we don't want to be found, we won't." He said. Micro Ice looked at him.
"Did you make this?" He asked. Sonny laughed.
"Of course not. A project like this takes hundreds of people working together." He said. Micro Ice nodded.
"So… are D'Jok and I going back to Genesis to help defend our galaxy?" He carefully asked. Sonny chuckled.
"Today, you two will stay with your family. Tomorrow morning, we'll meet at the Sanctuary Stadium, for football practice. You need to be in shape." He said. Micro Ice nodded.
"So… no pressure." He said. Sonny patted his shoulder.
"You'll be fine Micro Ice, we all will be, as soon as this is over."
She was happy when she saw The Black Manta dock at her home bay. The twins were getting a little cranky, and she looked forward to getting some help. Mei was trying to calm down an over-excited Iris. Finally, the hatch opened, and Sonny, D'Jok and Corso made their way off the loading ramp. Callie hurried to meet them. Corso was still holding Sonny as they walked down the ramp.
"Sonny… " Callie embraced him, holding him close, as Corso took the stroller with the twins. Callie placed her head on Sonny's chest, tears starting to fall. She felt Sonny wipe them away.
"I'm sorry I made you worry. Can I make it up to you?" Sonny asked. Corso smiled as Callie pulled Sonny close for a kiss.
"I'll start with a kiss, and we'll go from there." She said as Sonny looked at Corso and winked.
"Tell us where you want to go and we'll get you there." He said. Callie gave him a smile.
"A massage sounds nice." She said. Corso laughed.
"You two have fun. I'll take care of the kids." He teased. Callie chuckled.
"You can swap in any time." She said. Corso laughed.
"Have fun you two." He said. Sonny pulled Corso into the embrace too.
"Don't make me take you along." He said. They all laughed as they entered the waiting limo that drove them home.
Of course they were held in separate rooms. It didn't matter. Being in the same building was enough to strengthen their link, and share information. Ta'Nahk paid close attention to Cobra's report. Blackbones was up to something.
"I need a servant. One that can track Blackbones." He said. Ta'Nahk agreed.
"I can't reach anyone on Akillian, they're probably all gone. We need to learn more about Blackbones." He said.
"We need to keep him alive. He'd make an excellent hostage." Cobra suggested. Ta'Nahk nodded.
"Send out two servants, locate this place called The Sanctuary. Blackbones should be there." He said. Cobra wasn't all convinced.
"He might resist." He said. That made The Warlord laugh coldly.
"Let him. He won't survive once I am done."
It looks like I might need more than fifty chapters to complete this, but I will try my best to avoid it getting much longer.
I might actually make a third sequel on this, as I have a few more things to follow up on.
I hope you all enjoy the story.
Thanks Paranoidgirl for her help.
Happy reading.
